Great experience buying from Bare Wood Furniture. Quality customer service. We were told right from the beginning it would take longer for our furniture to arrive due to supply chain issues, but it was worth the wait. Well built solid wood furniture made in America. One piece did arrive damaged, but Kevin got back to us almost immediately with resolution for a replacement.

We purchased a custom barn wood dining table and hutch from Barewood in November 2019, and we had a very positive experience. We had purchased a house and were looking for the perfect pieces to fit/furnish the space. Kevin walked through the floor model tables, chairs and hutches with us, and provided all the catalogs to look closer at all our options. After a week, we decided on a custom table, chairs and hutch (see photo below). The estimated time for fabrication was about 10-12 weeks because all the pieces were custom made in OH and shipped to CT. We did check in with Kevin at the 12 week mark (early Feb 2020) and the table was en-route to CT. Within the same week, the pieces were delivered and assembled, and we LOVE all of them! We have received so many compliments from family and friends on our dining set.

Kevin was absolutely great. Very knowledgeable about the items he had to offer and really helped us pick out the perfect dresser. Took a little bit to get it in, but as to be expected with a global pandemic and well worth the wait. He even delivered it personally the same day I found out it came in. Thanks again!

Best money we’ve spent! We purchased a stunning rustic farmhouse table that seats 10 (2 king chairs, 4 side chairs, a bench) and matching server. The craftsmanship is impeccable. It really looks like it fell out of a page of Southern Living and into our very institutional base housing. And the server is stunning. I have a full service for 12 of China, Crystal, linens, serve ware ... and plenty of room to spare. Guess I have more shopping to do! Working with Kevin was a dream. Not pushy. Very knowledgeable. And so quick to answer questions. I originally was looking at pieces from Pottery Barn, and so glad we didn’t waste our money there. This will be well worth the investment.

BUYER BEWARE!! My biggest mistake was not walking out of the businesss door back in October 2020!! At first, yes the owner seemed great and very helpful and took my 1/2 down payment quite quickly. I even wrote a stellar review here back in October. I should have waited until I received my table and chairs before writing a review. I was told the table would be delivered to me by the week before Christmas....after excuse after excuse, I finally received my table and chairs on 5/26/2021. I thought the nightmare was over... NOPE!!! The chairs did not match the stain on the tabletop. NOW... we are still waiting for the four tops of the chairs, 30 days later. He quickly charged my credit card for the balance the next day. So now he has all my money and I am still waiting for 4 tops of the chairs! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE BUSINESS! GO ELSEWHERE. I should have read the reviews prior.

I think the quality of the customer service has declined steadily over the past several years. I have a few pieces from Bare Wood and while ive liked them all, the last piece (pantry) will be my last. I will never ever recommend or go to this store again. TLDR: purchased a floor model in july 2020. after several calls, I received a poorly constructed wayfair quality piece of furniture.In July 2020, for our anniversary, we went to order a wardrobe and a pantry. We were told we were getting a floor model and the delivery would be about a month or so, as the finishing group/vendor was busy and that some paint products werent available. Fine. I called in November to ask for a status, and was told they couldnt get the paint. I called in December to ask for a status and was told the same thing. Finally, 2 days ago, I called to inquire about the furniture I ordered in July, and i was told that the construction was just finishing up and he was sure it was being finished. so I went from buying a floor model was waiting for paint to having something that allegedly was being finished. he couldnt give me status, grieved about how covid affected his business and how any struggles anyone else went through were not worse than his (because its a competition???). At $1K, I expected something that didnt feel and look poorly constructed. I understand that theres global supply chain issues, but the lack of communication and misdirection with respect to the status of the furniture are unacceptable. I likely got something that was sitting around and not what I intended to order. throughout the entire conversation, he contradicted himself and I didnt get a clear answer. After discussing with my husband and the owner about taking delivery of one piece (we paid 50% upfront) in 2-3 weeks, it went from being ready in 2 to 3 weeks to suddenly being available that evening.im not sure whats going on with the business and I do want to support local businesses, but this is one one I can support any longer. Save your money and go elsewhere, as there are so many talented and skilled people who can offer custom or Amish furniture. We have a lot of custom pieces in our house, many of which took at least 6 months to receive. previously ordered pieces (outdoor chairs for example) took nearly 3 months. we arent a stranger to waiting for merchandise. the issue wasnt the wait time, it was the miscommunication and misdirection.

The furniture is beautiful but Covid has really slowed down delivery as it has so many other businesses.

Bought a beautiful table great piece and had delivered today will definitely be back for the butcher block

So far Ive bought a TV stand, bookcase, 4 seater dining set, and a queen bed. Great selection, cheerful staff, and, for us military folk, a nice discount! Glad to have done business here!

AMENDMENT: I received my furniture after about 14 weeks, and am very pleased with the finish and construction quality. I understand that the items went into back order, but it was contingent upon me to repeatedly drive in and ask to get a status on my order. I think the customer experience would be significantly improved if the company had a means of tracking projected delivery dates in order to communicate delays. The impression I received while waiting was simply that they had their money and didnt care. I have added two stars due to the high quality of the table and chairs.I have been eating standing up in front of my cutting board for 10 weeks waiting for a dining set that was supposed to be done in no more than 6. When I went in to inquire about the status of my order, no one in the shop could even tell me where it was because apparently only the owner has access to whatever tracking system they use. Nice furniture, but I will not be purchasing here again.

Kevin the owner is great...very knowledgeable. Staff I have talked to on the phone gave been help as well. Prices are good. Variety of pieces in showroom. Able to get custom pieces made but you do have to allow time for the craftsmen to do the work.

I favor natural wood furniture so when I window shop I gain a large want-to list. When I asked for a custom tater bin the owner was willing to make one for me. Upon google searching for a basic design he worked out measurements and cost. The end result was well worth the wait and cost!!! My tater bin is so beatiful and spacious. Well done!!!!

The order was under my fiancees name. I have the credit card statement to prove I bought a piece here, despite the owners feedback 7 months after I posted this review. They couldnt even track down my order when I was waiting for my furniture to come in... Nevermind that we never got a call back after leaving several messages to try and find out when it would come in. Thankfully we were finally able to pick up the piece after waiting several weeks after the original promised delivery date.Multiple reviewers have also had the same experience. The owners response should tell you everything you need to know about this place.

Excellent selection of dining room, bedroom and living room furniture. We spent many hours searching online furniture stores for tables and were not happy, We took one step into Barewoods and knew we were in the right place. The staff as very friendly, informative and helped us find the pieces that would work in our space. The finished result was beautiful! Well made, solid wood furniture! We will definitely be back!

We stumbled on this hidden gem while waiting to get a haircut and ended up with a beautiful table. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely helpful with the buying process. We ended up with an amazing unfinished leafed table(wanted a DIY with the husband) they offered us all the help we needed in the process and told us to call anytime if we had questions. If we ever need anything for our home again we will definitely be coming back.

If I could have registered no STARS, I would have. The reason for that would not be because of inferior products, it would be solely because of Mr. Barewoods, Kevin! I will not go into detail about all the machinations that we went through but suffice to say that all the bad reviews previously posted echo everything we went through. I have never dealt with a business owner who had so many excuses and inconsistencies when pressed . I know I will be declared a liar as so many others who dared to expose him. His responses speak for themselves. I just wished I had read the Reviews before deciding to order from him.
