Ordered a really simple ham, egg and cheese croissant. Took them at least 25 minutes from order to table. When it arrived, both were over cooked and crunchy. Don’t think croissants are meant to be crunchy. To be really honest the croissants at California Dreaming are better:). Plus, the staff is extremely rude. Stay clear from this bakery.12:24 pm. Update after owners response below. There were less than 6 people when we placed our order. People came in after us. We were ready to walk out when they finally brought our order to the table. No, we didn’t eat it all and if I wasn’t so hungry we would have walked out. $24.00 for 2 croissants and 2 bottles of water! The bacon was literally in a ball on one of the croissants. What I find amazing more than anything is the owners response. You do know that customers are what keep you in business don’t you? All good. Will never be back and highly recommend people read reviews before patronizing. It’s certainly what we should have done. Lesson learned.

Just be weary! Nothing about this place is true French patisserie. The croissants and pastries are hard and tough, nothing like a real French patisserie. It was very disappointing for us. The representative pictures online really dont look like anything that was in the food case. We dont plan on going back.As a follow up to the mgmt response, I just came back from 2 weeks in Paris and ate patisserie everyday. My opinion is still the same not real French patisserie.

I’ve walked by this location multiple times in the evening, and remembered this afternoon to look up the phone number/website, to place a sizable order for an upcoming event I’m hosting. To my dismay, reading the owners vile replies to negative reviews clearly indicates to me that he does not value any customer feedback, excluding a glowing five-star review.I will definitely continue my search for a local bakery, in which the proprietor kindly accepts and responds professionally to all concerns/compliments. I would encourage everyone reading this to do the same. Spend your money where you are appreciated and treated well!

I only recently discovered this place a few months ago, and I stop by here every week for some croissant. The pastries are always fantastic and are the best in town. I spent a lot of time in France as a child, so having a local French bakery here is awesome. I don’t understand the negative comments on here about the food. Obviously these people haven’t been to France, and are more accustomed to croissant from a local petrol station, or fast food joint. Oh, the baguette is good too.

I had the ham and cheese croissant at fall for Greenville. As someone who lived off croissants when I visited France, this place has amazing and authentic croissants. I enjoyed the crisp on the outside and the soft inside… not sure why there are some petty people writing bad reviews but I truly enjoyed the croissants! Will visit the store this week as I’m craving another croissant.

This place has nice ambiance, and you should definitely stop by for a cup of coffee or tart, but *skip the croissant.*Mine was doughy on the inside, as it should be, but the outside was crusty, tough, and burnt - more like a baguette texture than the thin and flaky croissant exterior I am accustomed to. It was too dry as well, definitely not enough butter. (I shouldnt have to prove my credentials when writing a review, but I guess here I need to stress that I *do* know what Im talking about when it comes to croissants. After living in Montreal for 7 years and frequenting many traditional french bakeries there, I have an appreciation for authentic croissants)However - the pear and chia tart I had was delicious! Very buttery and soft pastry shell, tender pears, and the chia was a nice addition. The cappuccino was very good as well.

Sitting across the street at Great American Cookies and seeing Le Petite Croissant. I’m visiting my daughter in town for a few days so I got to thinking we could go there the next day for breakfast so I thought I’d check out what people have to say about the food. Well….. reading the owner’s response to customers comments and their frustration with the hours not matching google maps hours! WOW! I haven’t even been in there and I give it 1 star based on how rude the owner is! There are plenty of other great places to eat in Greenville. If you want to run a business you can’t just say, “when the door is locked, we’re closed and when the door is unlocked, we’re open.” Good luck with that!

I was excited to have an authentic croissant and support downtown businesses participating in the Fall for Greenville virtual discount book I purchased. We looked at the menu in advance and were impressed with the variety of selections and good reviews, but when we arrived a much different experience unfolded. We arrived shortly after noon on Sunday and when we went to order were told the kitchen was no longer open (even though the hours state open until 4) but they could make a ham, egg and cheese or a bacon, egg and cheese croissant, those were the only two options. I inquired about a slice of quiche and was told they only sell half or whole quiches, not slices. We were hungry so settled and ordered the bacon egg and cheese croissant. I did inquire as to when we should plan to arrive next time to ensure the kitchen was open and was told that it depends, but usually it closes between 2 and 3. Again, it was about 12:30 PM when we ordered. I also ordered an iced latte and was told they were out of ice, so I passed and got water. When the food arrived, it looked delicious but was very disappointing. The croissant was tough, the eggs were super overcooked and the consistency of hard boiled egg, and the bacon was underdone and chewy. It tasted 100% microwaved and was fairly inedible, despite my best efforts. The photo is what was left uneaten. The service was terrible as well. No one even checked to see how the food was after it was served to us. Another table inquired how the meal was because it looked so delicious and I had to honestly tell them it was not very good and I wouldn’t order it again. The staff heard this conversation and still said nothing, even after most of my meal was left uneaten.I love supporting local businesses, and would love to give it another try because all businesses make mistakes, but the attitude of carelessness I experienced here would keep me from returning.

This is a difficult time, and for my wifes birthday this week we planned a party where we would serve the French dessert croquembouche. Le Petit Croissant was the ONLY place in the Upstate that could make this for us, and even with changed circumstances the Chef still delivered an AMAZING smaller version to our home for our revised family celebration. I cant thank him enough for the service and delightful quality of this unique treat!

Opening hours are not the same on Google and on the store . First time went there, I had checked the hours on Google and they were closed.Gave them another chance, but my experience was terrible. I am from France and this bakery should be ashamed to call itself a French bakery.Went there early afternoon and they were already out of stock on everything. Couldnt even buy lunch or coffee. If you are open, why dont you restock? So all I could buy was two croissants. And it was not worth it. It was very heavy and dense. Not at all how a croissant should be. And dont tell me I dont know what a real croissant is. I lived my whole life in France. Was so excited to try a French bakery here in Greenville, what a disappointment. Want to try a real croissant? Stopped in to see what they had for breakfast and was somewhat disappointed the only thing available was the almond croissant. I was really hoping for chocolate or some kind of fruit but I decided to give it a chance. Glad I did! It was slightly crisp on the outside and flaky and delicious inside with a generous amount of almond cream in the middle. Around the bottom there were areas of caramelized sugar that were crispy and chewy and added to the overall taste and texture. Best croissant I ever had!

Disappointing Experience. One week in advance, I ordered 20 chocolate macarons , 20 almond macarons, and 20 coconut macrons on a tiered tray for a bridal shower. The owner took the $145 paid order over the phone from me.I arrived a week later to pick up the order the day before the shower. The girl behind the counter said that they added 15extra macarons to the tray (I figured as a kind gesture) so I thanked her and headed out. When I got in my car I noticed that the macarons were not what I ordered. I called and asked the owner what happened. He said, “Your white macaroons were accidentally sold to another customer by one of my employees so I switched out the white almond and coconut and gave you the yellow passion fruit instead.”I told him the situation was really frustrating and why. His response was simply “I’m sorry.”A proper response: call from the owner letting me know there has been a mishap. Maybe a “We’re so sorry, what can we do to make this up to you? We can give you 50% off? Would you like another color/flavor or would you just like to purchase the chocolate and forego the tray?” OR “We can make the other 40 white macarons and redo the tray for you and just reschedule pick up later in the day. What would you like us to do for you?”Instead the owner just said “sorry.” They called about 10minutes later and said they could drop off 20 white almond macarons later that afternoon at my work. I asked them to please call when they arrived so I could retrieve them. After some thought I called them back and requested a return/refund the tray of macarons. I would pay for the 20 white ones they were going to drop off. (The tray had frosting on it to make the macarons stick so even if I tried to replace the yellow with white, the tray would look crusted up with frosting. Not an appealing presentation for a bridal shower, so the tray is no longer usable.) The girl said “no the tray is for you to keep. We will bring 40 white almond macarons and no refund.”Okay sure. I’ll take 40 white almond macarons because that’s the closest thing we’ve come to what I originally ordered and there will be enough for the shower. At 11:45am (I was told they would be dropped off later in the afternoon) 30(not 40 as mentioned) white almond macarons were delivered to a random lady who happened to work in the same building as me. There was no phone call to let me know they were there to drop them off. This situation was poorly handled. They tried to fix it by giving extra macarons of a completely different color WITHOUT communicating first. The extra macaroons do me no good if they are not the right color and flavor. I only needed 60: 20 chocolate, 20 coconut, and 20 almond. Not 75. Not bright yellow. Just what I ordered and on a tiered tray as promised when the order was placed. That was not delivered. If I’m going to spend $150 on French macarons for a special event, I want exactly what I ordered.Do I have grace for mistakes? Absolutely. And in that I expect great communication, a lot of humility and honesty about the situation and a whole of “how can we make this up to you?!” That is excellence and that is what I expected. I haven’t even tasted the macarons yet. They may taste like heaven on earth, but honestly because of the lack of professionalism in the way I was treated today, I have decided to no longer use Le Petit Croissant for future events. They are unreliable and not worth the risk.By the way...the company’s response to my husband’s review about this situation was argumentative, defensive, and with the words “find another bakery.” Nice. That will get people coming back for sure.I hope that they can make some changes to their bakery to ensure a more successful future because what happened today was far less than success. No matter who you are...at the end of every day...customers that walk through the door of your business are the ones that pay your bills and help put food on your table. It’s important to take care of them.

We had a pretty bad experience here for breakfast/brunch this morning. First there was only a “bacon egg and cheese” savory croissant option (even though other options were available to order online). Then were told they had no ice for ice coffee. This bakery is the most authentic example of real French pastry in Greenville. I think its the best since Le Grand Bakery closed. Things Ive tried here include croissants, tartes, mousse, quiches, macarons, and chocolates. The croissants are authentic with a crunchy exterior, and the almond croissants are the absolute best Ive had. Supply is limited & several items sell out early in the day. Various pastries from opéra cakes to mousse or custard type items Im less familiar with cycle in and out more seasonally, (I think there have even been a few fun, unique items designed by the owners daughter) and Im hoping to find a tropezienne or a clafoutis here sometime. My favorites are the almond croissants, raspberry tartes, & dark chocolate tartes, which have gold leaf on the top. It has a smaller selection overall than the newer bakery down the street does, but in my experience, items at Le Petite Croissant have tasted fresher and higher quality in comparison. These are small batches, made daily, not shipped in from elsewhere.
