Fun bookstore, everything was marked on sale for year end close out. It was a good day for a visit.

I have been waiting for two weeks for books that have been back ordered. When I was in the bookstore to pick up different books they told me by back ordered books would be in a week and a half ago. They have yet to help sort out me getting my books.

Went to pick up my cap and gown, asked about cords the guy was so rude an seemed as though he didn’t want to help. Super disappointing because the people at the bookstore store are usually really nice

Employees are great. Servicing such a vast student base is hectic, but they try their best and ask for cooperation.

When they have the books, its fine. Very pricey and dont always have the needed books.

This morning I have to give them two stars, because I have class at 9 and need to purchase some things, but their website says they open at 8am while it is actually 9am. So, it has messed me up.

Very helpful in finding what you need. Love the staff. Plenty of school supplies here. Although I will recommend for those getting text books, go to your first classes and find out I you need the text books first so you dont end up spending money on books you dont need.

This store is so well organized with an incredibly knowledgeable staff. Almost makes me wish I was a student again for an excuse to buy more electronics. They have everything! I’m currently saving up money so I can purchase some wireless Apple headphones (I think they’re called AirPods?). Go ECU! Only 5 stars across the board from this guy!

Dowdy Student Stores is an excellent place to shop. Fair prices, awesome sales, all the supplies for classes that are needed. Staff are friendly and very helpful, customer service student workers especially! Textbook department is always helpful with supplying my books or ordering them for me if they are out of stock. Highly recommend Dowdy to all students, alumni, and ECU fans!

Great merchandise and selection for students and visitors wanting branded ECU apparel. Prices pretty high, but great quality!

Theres always something on sale. clothes, memorabilia, books, art supplies, computers... pretty much anything youll need for classes.

Placed an order online forPick-up in store. 2 weeks later order had notBeen “processed” when went to pick-up. Staff was clueless. They did not verify my order (which I had place incorrectly) and they did not mention that Apple products cannot be returned if package is opened. Now we have a $1200 laptop that we didn’t want.

I am an anonymous student at ECU and I would like all incoming ECU students to know that Dowdy Student Stores is a terrible place to purchase anything. They have nice clothes and gifts but theyre extremely overpriced and you could walk down to University Book Exchange and get equally nice clothing for a cheaper price. As far as textbooks, I strongly suggest ordering every textbook you need from amazon or University Book Exchange. The prices are cheaper for the same textbook. I recently tried to purchase access to some online homework for one of my classes through Dowdys online purchasing system and it was awful. They did not have what I ordered in stock and so they put me on backstock for 3 or 4 weeks and then I went to the website today and their online purchasing website is completely closed off and inaccessible. If you try to purchase something from Dowdy and they do not have it in stock immediately, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF TRYING TO ORDER IT TO GET TO YOU, you will be wasting your money and time. Please please PLEASE do not shop at Dowdy Student Stores. If you take a tour of campus they will try to tell you that Dowdy is the only place you can purchase your textbooks but IT IS NOT TRUE, you can go to U.B.E. or online to purchase. Dowdy Student Store is just another way for East Carolina University to steal money from their students, as if they do not get enough from us already.

I wouldnt but your books here unless you had the money to or if your parents were paying for them because they can be a bit pricey for broke college students, but all of the money goes back to the students in scholarships, so there is a balance to it.
