We took my Father In Laws car to Buchanans . We met Tanner who I thought was very professional. We told him what we thought was wrong-a bad water pump. He gave us a price up front and we agreed to the work. We also thought we had a issue with the power steering pump however after checking he stated it was just low on fluid . They completed the work in a timely manner and the price was what he quoted. We will be going back if we need any additional work.

I had a diagnostic test done on a vehicle before I considered purchasing. They gave me great advice and saved me a great deal of money. Service was quick and convenient.

Make sure they give you a price for parts. Ive rebuilt cars and Ive put in engines. I know what parts cost.The part they put in is a $60-$100 part at most. They charged me $300 for an alternator. I asked them who they buy their parts from. Answer,from our vendor. I asked who is it. Answer,I cant tell you that. I understand they are in business to make money. Charging 3-4 times what a part cost isnt a way to earn trust for a new customer. I will not be coming back to this garage.

Best shop around!These guys do NOT rip you off. Its hard to believe, I know.I went in needing a motor mount replaced (I had already purchased the part elsewhere) and they replaced it for $65.00!!Come to find out that the mount I had purchased wasnt the broken one but they replaced it anyhow since that is what I asked for. They did tell me that there were not any hardware holding the mount in place. The guys told me that he personally had to go purchase the bolts from another place to put them on my car. (And they didnt charge me for that either!)I was five minutes late picking my car up and not only was the whole staff there waiting but they were all SO kind and smiley. The man explained exactly what I needed, the OTHER mount, since it was completely cracked.A couple weeks later I bought the correct part and called them back to see the cost of installation.The guy said hed do it for free since there was a mix up. EVEN THOUGH IT WASNT THEIR MIX UP.Im so impressed. What an FAIR shop.You wont find that elsewhere.These are now my go-to guys. Period.

I gave this place a list of stuff to fix on my car. The whole list wasnt even fixed. I called them every other day asking for an update. Everytime I was told they were waiting on parts. The very last thing they checked was the check engine light. They told me my engine was no good. After putting $2200 of work into it. When i paid the bill that i most likely would not have agreed to if I knew. It was drivable when I dropped it of with a solid check engine light. When I picked it up, I had no power and when I gave it gas the check engine light started flashing. Everytime. Come to find out these sad bunch of mechanics didnt plug in 2 of my coils (cylinder 4 & 5). Great job guys! Never again will i bring my car there and all you will get out of me as far as word of mouth will be absolutely awful. I will be looking into a lawyer.

Buchanan & Sons have worked with me on my vehicle twice this month and prove to be reliable, professional, and friendly. The owner took time to walk me through a process that I did not understand and he was very kind and patient. I would recommend them throughout the Upstate!

I was able to get a simple diagnosis of what was wrong with my car for a reasonable price. People I spoke with were friendly and polite. Main downsides I think of with my experience was that it was a bit difficult to talk to them over the phone (half of my calls to them ended up at their voicemail) and also that it took a relatively long time for my car to be looked at. Both of these issues could easily be attributed to the fact that they did seem extremely busy though.

Shoddy serviceWhen you are asked to check some things out and then agree to fix it for x amount of money and they agree, then it should be your responsibility to fix it for said amount of money. Everything should had been checked out prior to the conversation. Wait until after you do other unrelated work to decide oh I guess I should check the check engine light. Then call and say oh ya by thee way you owe us 2300 but your car is garbage. Please pretty shoddy if you ask me.
