This store is dangerous! Multiple times Ive gone in for a specific item and found it, plus several others, drastically increasing my expenditures.Just today I went in to return an online purchase and suddenly felt a strange urge to look around. After an effortless return of the online purchase I ended up spending another $150 on accessories for my yacht.I suspect the music they play over the intercom has subliminal messages embedded within causing customers to spend money.Dont be fooled by the polite and courteous store associates. Your money will drift away from you faster than a beach ball from a sandbar on a windy day.DO NOT go in this store unless you like boating more than money. Youve been warned.

They usually have what you need for both power and sail. Staff is friendly and helpful. Yes regular retail prices can be a little high, but sale prices are usually very good.

West Marine is awesome. Great selection of very hard to find items (at least in the same spot in person).

More clothes n nicknacs than actual boat stuff. I shop less here every year

Cashier was super friendly, while who I assume is the manager was very rude. He sat in a room behind the front counter belching out questions to a conversation he wasnt a part of and not offering any support while at it. Def the last time Ill spend my money there...

Years ago, the Kon-Tiki expedition (50s) caught my attention. The crew sailed in a small raft made from balsa wood. Their tiny hut gave them some shelter and storage room. It also protected their radio gear. The expedition inspired lots of adventures---real and imagined.Your family may prefer to avoid the oceans. However, everyone needs the proper boating gear and training. Lake Michigan, for example, is an ocean to small boats. Danger awaits the ignorant.West Marine provides the resources your crew needs. Identify their expertise, and respect their store overhead. Enjoy boating and be safe!

Got just what I needed at the store after confirming items on their website, nice helpful staff.

Owning a boat isnt cheap, but it is what it is and its nice to have a place to grab what you need. Good selection for the side of this place. Better deals are to be had online, but West Marine had a price match policy so do your research!

Decent marine store that seems to have everything. Location could be better as this place is no where near the water.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Im a inexperienced/new boat owner and they where very professional at explaining things (dumbing it down) without making you feel stupid. They have a variety of general boat parts and boat maintenance items but no a lot of speciality parts on hand but could order.

About the only reason to shop in store would be an emergency item you cant wait to have shipped. Even then it is worth the drive to Kendor to avoid. Convenience for someone very near 76th st. in West Allis is the only thing they have going. Staff is a mix of rude, obnoxious, and/or ignorant of the product depending on which you deal with. Products are massively overpriced even in relation to their own website.

Google, PLEASE correct their hours. YOU are stating them incorrectly, and you refuse to give the store(s) control over what YOU state. They close at 6pm M-Sa, not 7pm.
