One of the best stores I have visited in a long time. Everyone is super generous and kind. They try to answer each question to the best of their ability and they have a lot of history stored inside of their building. This is a must stop and check out what they have.

The staff was extremely knowledgeable and professional in regards to questions about sales and purchases of precious metals with reasonable prices. They have a large selection of high quality items and I will be going back for any purchases or sales in the future. Its wonderful to have a local dealer and not have to go through an online mint/dealer.

Initially, I was not particularly pleased with the individual I spoke with on the phone who implied that the precious metals I was looking to send off were counterfeit simply because I bought them online from a reputable dealer. I dont buy off of ebay and only from trusted dealers. But...they ended up being very easy to work with (once they tested the gold of course) the spot price payed was very fair overall. They are doing everything to be highly competitive in price in both buying and selling which if they remain this way I will buy with them for the foreseeable future. I cant help but feel the initial attitude is a defense mechanism to the big online precious metals dealers....just because its bought online doesnt mean a counterfeit cant be had in store either. Either way, it worked out well for me.

My experience was terrible, I was glad I knew what I had before I went in because the did not even quote me the correct price for my item on the market. Be informed. Buyer Beware. and basically sell else ware because unless you do your own research first you there is a reason why caution signs say Dander slippery when wet. Use the Buddy System. Shop wherever you like by all means but do your homework and have fun.

The first man I dealt with was kind and respectful. The second however was rude and arrogant. Claimed he didn’t know what my diamond was so he couldn’t make an offer on a piece I was selling. How do you sell jewelry and not know your diamonds? The older male with glasses was downright unpleasant.

Customer service is initially great. But today was the second time I went to buy something and they give me the, “Oh, this is way under priced” rant. This is very frustrating as the price increased by 2,000+ dollars both times! Whoever is in charge of pricing the jewelry, should do a better job! Or maybe they see people with money and decide to try to make more $$. Not my problem anymore as I won’t be returning.

The service is super great any questions you have they will do their best to answer, one of a kind store in my opinion I love it definitely check it out !

Ive been here several times, but most recently for an engagement ring. Kathryn spent a lot of unrushed time helping me choose, got me an excellent price, and was truly likeable and a fantastic salesperson. I was amazed at what a large selection they had of beautiful estate jewelry in a wide range of budgets. I put a deposit on the ring I chose and brought my fiance back to see it and she fell in love with it instantly.I was able to trade in some old estate jewelry and coins that I had towards the ring and was given a very fair price for all my trades, and when I say fair I mean 75% higher than the low-ball offer I was given in Kimberly at a certain coin shop there.Every step of the way the staff has been especially friendly. Unrushed and treated with respect, I couldnt be more pleased. I am a 100% satisfied customer, and I will certainly be back for more business in the future.

Weve done business with A A and J for 25 years (app. since I relocated to the area) and have always had great experiences. The personnel are so knowledgeable & friendly. Weve sold jewelry to them, had a watch & earring repaired & purchased jewelry, military items & antiques from them. We (& especially our son in college) love doing business with A A and J!! (And the family children-present on occasion & Stella-the store canine-are all delightful!)

My fiance and I picked out this ring after looking various places online. I just really loved it! It arrived even more quickly than anticipated and is even more beautiful in reality! It fits perfectly and I am exceptionally pleased with this ring! We were planning on doing a progression of upgraded engagement rings (started with the 50 cent plastic ring he proposed with) and this was ring #3 but I dont know if I want to progress to another ring. If I do, I will definitely be looking at American Antiques and Jewelry!

I probed the silver expert who didnt know the difference between a generic round and government mom with a face value. Obviously the type of store to target older and un knowledgable types. If your buying precious metals in brown county just go to card and coin. This place is terrible.

The kid tells me hell do me right and then offered me half what I paid for it from there a month earlier. My boyfriend and I (and our kids) had a terrific experience here today. We came in looking for a ring, really unsure of what we wanted. Katherine took care of us, and she REALLY took care of us. She was so patient and she helped me try on a ton of different options, until we were able to narrow it down to the perfect ring. She informed us about their layaway program, which gave us the option to put down a percentage of the cost until it’s finished being sized...which at that time we will pay the balance. Katherine worked above and beyond any expectations I had coming in here. This really goes for all of the staff. Everyone is caring and attentive, and we appreciate everything you folks did for us. We will spread the word and we will continue to do our business here.

Today was my very first visit to American Antiques and Jewelry. I was very impressed with the staff and Stella. I feel I got a good deal on the things I wanted to sell. What impressed me the most was the owner, I brought in something he was interested in but said this is something you may want to keep in your family. We have found our Jewelry store for life! Unfortunately my wedding ring got to tight for me to get off. To save the finger we had to cut it off. Obviously we wanted it repaired! Stopped at American Antiques to see if it was something that could fix. NO QUESTIONS ASKED! they were able to send it in to be repaired. I was apprehensive about going here to sell the last of some estate items. Thankfully, Mitchell helped me! He put me at ease, had a great sense of humor, and was sensitive to my reasons for selling. The boss came over to assist, and I was surprised and happy that he encouraged me not to sell him 2 pieces of jewelry! He was honest, letting me know he wouldnt give me what the value is, and I should keep them or do something else. Everyone I spoke to was so nice, very honest, and very fair. What I anticipated being a rough experience turned out to be great! I will be back to do shopping some time, as they have such an amazing collection of everything!

Complete rip-off they will basically steal your items, offer you little to nothing for your items. Then turn around and ask almost full retail for anything in the store! Stay clear of this business! Im going to guess that the 5 star reviews are fake.

We have been going to American Antiques for years. We had a house near the old storefront and would walk through occasionally. Over the years my father began purchasing jewelry and we began purchasing jewelry and coins from them. My wife has been in the Marine Corps for 35 years and now we find ourselves commissioning (15 May, 2020) our son, who is following tradition and having a dear friend of ours be his first salute. You always give your first salute a silver dollar. I remembered seeing commemorative USMC silver dollars in A.A. and called to purchase one on short notice. They had the coin to us in Washington D.C. in 5 days and at a discount to boot! With Covid - 19 raging and reduced sales they still gave us a discount. I understand people complaining about places like this saying they dont give a good price for spare jewelry or that their prices are fair. However, we have built a business relationship with American Antiques and do you know what they did? They gave us the same fair price they always have.Their fair price is a discount compared to almost anywhere else! They arent looking to rip off an individual but to make money at running their business while providing a service in a fair reasonable fashion. I would just like to thank the American Antiques owner and staff for always treating us as important customers. They really try their best to treat customers fairly and are patriots to boot! Came in 2 different times 2 weeks apart, first time I had 2 golds rings(5.2g 14k) and a platinum band(2.1g 90%) along with a silver half dollar(90%silver 12.5g), was offered 155$ said I would come back another time, came back the second time with an additional gold ring bringing the total to 3 gold rings(7.4g 14k) 1 plat(2.1g 90%) and a silver half dollar(90%silver 12.5g), was offered 138$. Less then first offer. I did some math, at time of posting(10-15-19) the gold+plat rings alone are 259 at melt value, they offered me 140. Thats roughly 55% of melt value. Reputable places offer a minimum of 70%. Do not come here to sell your precious metals, anywhere else will give you a better deal.

I recently went to American to sell some personal property. They were very courteous, honest, and straight forward. They gave me a fair price and were very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure working with them and I know I will sell and buy from them in future.

I liked the coin guys they were very friendly. But when I went to look at rings, just to look, the woman was kind of rude and off putting. She was very nice when I bought a 2800 dollar ring a year ago but I was looking for a certain type of ring and she wasn’t very nice at all. I won’t go back there ever again for ring shopping. But I will go back for the relics and coins.

I went there on 8/23/18 with some jewelry to sell. I got the quote and decided to buy a ring with just a little extra charge to me. A woman was across the room with some signed footballs to sell. My husband was just wondering around waiting for me. The woman was on her phone with her husband. She saw my husband and said to him that her husband said not to sell the footballs for the price quoted by AA&J & what did he think. My husband told her he would talk to her outside. We did not know this woman and didnt care whether she sold her stuff or not. She took her footballs & went to her car. My husband went out also to talk to her and did tell her that he thought she could get more but it was up to her. He did NOT offer to buy them from her. Well the owner, Mark, and another guy went outside also. When they came back in, they were very irritated and the owner headed toward me. I was just completing my purchase and he told the salesgirl that the deal was off. He came over to me yelling and told me to take my stuff and get out. I told him I had no idea what was going on and that I was buying a ring from him. He said NO you arent. Get out!! I dont really know why he was so mad. The ladys husband already told her not to sell the footballs there. All we can think of is that they thought they could get some valuable sports memorabilia for little to nothing and it didnt work out. Why that was our fault, I dont know. Certainly not professional for a business owner. Will never go back there again!!!!!!

We shopped at the mall store and here and this is the place that received our money. I have not sold anything to them yet but there was a gentlemen who came in with coins when I was checking out and the staff was both honest and friendly with him. About 4 months ago I stopped in to AA to find a Engagement ring for my Girl friend. From the moment I walked up to the display case I was greeted by the owners son. He was very friendly and helpful. I found the ring I wanted very quickly with his help & he even gave me a very appreciated discount too & let me pay for it on layaway... My now Fiance LOVES the ring & I cant say enough nice things about AA !!! We will be back in the spring 2017 to select our wedding bands too !!!!!

We upgraded our rings for our 25th wedding anniversary & are so happy that we stopped in! It was a busy place but we were not rushed. Excellent customer service! The sales person was knowledgeable, listened, no pressure, patient & personable. There was a great selection of unique vintage rings, a lot of new rings and even pretty bands to put our own diamond into if we wanted. We also traded some gold jewelry & silver coins in for a very fair price. Actually a little more than the price we researched earlier that day online. We left the store knowing we got a great deal, plus the ring we picked out for me was a lot bigger (larger high quality diamonds & more diamonds) than I expected - for the price! My husband said, Now that was a good experience! We recommend you shop around online then stop in to American Antiques & Jewelry to realize how much you can save by purchasing with them. Im looking forward to visiting again to have our original diamonds put into another piece of jewelry, like they suggested.

Ive been here a few times to sell some jewelry that was given to me when I was young by family members. Im not a sentimental person nor do I wear jewelry so I thought selling it would be a good option.The first time, I had no problems. The associate was friendly and helpful. The second time however, the associate (different from the first) insinuated that I had stolen the items. I think that may be because I look very young for my age. But regardless of the fact, if I am bringing you my business I expect to be treated respectfully and without suspicion. I never have, and certainly never would, stolen anything. I was quite disappointed and offended by the associate, as I have never been treated that way before.But over all I think they provide good business, they are friendly, and sell many interesting things. They should just take note not to judge a book by its cover.

Just an observation> When you advertise about how you have moved into a much bigger store and especially about the part how your family has grown to 12 people, aside from the fact that it seems like an unnecessarily large staff, the message sent to the discerning mind is if that many people can make a living working there, or if most are part time and the owner doesnt have to work full time, and the many commercials produced and run, running a buying- selling business, people are getting ripped off. The star rating is irrelevant to this review but I will give you 2 to get this posted as a non- customer.

Staff was absolutely incredible! Loved the entire experience and would recommend them to anyone before any of the chain stores OR other local jewelry stores. When I walked into the store I was greeted with smiles and open ears. They displayed incredible patience and took the time to allow me to actually make the overall decisions.

Staff was extremely nice! Stopped in with some jewelry for them to look at for me and it just so happen to be the one out of two nights out of the year they were having ladies night! Lol. Poor costumer service rude pushy don’t like to pay value offered me $97 for 3 rings went down the road to another pawn shop and got 250 for the exact same rings. They were very pushy and trying to convince me to sell them the rings telling me they were junk when I went some where else I was told they were rare and worth more. Obviously I sold them for more and very glad I didn’t let them convince me into selling them for less than what they are really worth. If you’re looking to sell items this is not the place to go. Try e z pawn down the street much more friendly and gives you more for you’re items.

This place was great. My mother and I went there to sell some broken/unwanted old jewelry and we were immediately greeted and the two employees that helped us were very friendly and explained the process to us quickly and before we knew it we were walking out with cash. I got a chance to walk around while they were weighing the jewelry and found they had tons of beautiful jewelry all reasonably priced. I would definitely return there either to sell my jewelry or to buy something new for my own. I think that any business can have an off day or an unsatisfied customer, but I had nothing but a positive experience there and would recommend anyone looking to sell or buy check it out.

I dont sell to them because in the past I too was told it was junk but sold to another place same day for hundreds of dollars. If you can get past the rude older man who owns the place, then you may be able to stand shopping there. Anytime I ask him a question, because he has the final say, he looks me up and down to size how much I make, then answers me. I have heard him tell several people their items were junk. So when I read the reviews, Im not shocked to see it. The prices are decent on some items. I wish that the girls just worked there since I have never had a problem with them but the owner, wow he has insulted so many people while I stood in there silently looking at pieces. I was stunned. And as I said, he has treated me not so great either. Very egotistical and thinks he is the best thing on earth. I would have taken my business elsewhere but they are the only place with antique rings, now I know better and to travel out to a bigger city with better customer service. Lastly, the reviews where he doesnt like what they say, he says: reported/flagged for removal. Like come on. Grow up and take this review as truth. Just be nicer to your customers so they dont have to take 20 minutes out of their day to sit down and write a review like I just had to!

Took our car to AAs First Annual Car Show and had a blast! BEAUTIFUL weather, excellent venue, and opportunity to SHOP for antiques and jewelry after viewing all the cars. Definitely a great place to relax and shop!!
