Long review but worth reading. Tonight we visited the grapevine location. Our bear fluffier was Makayla and the manager was Cassidy. We were at Grapevine Mills for the sensory friendly event at lego land with our 2 boys who have autism. They immediately went straight into build a bear. This was their first time ever doing anything like this. Ages 13 and 10. As a special needs mom you hope that there are kind individuals out there who are patient and understanding and sometimes its not always the case. Tonight was magical for my sons. This was an experience they will never forget. Both Cassidy and Makayla were so amazing and kine hearted. They made this experience one of a kind. They let them explore and took their time. Both interacted so well and honestly I couldnt say enough great things. Thank you both for giving our sons such an sweet gift of pure kindness. We will definitely be coming back and spreading this review across the special needs community.

Customer service was excellent! Cassidy was so knowledgeable on 10-30-2021 around 6pm.

AMAZING!!!! 10/5 STARS IF I COULD!! Cassidy, Amanda, and the assistant manager Kyle were so awesome with our 10 year old. He is normally very shy and gets embarrassed easily and they made him feel so comfortable he was jumping around and laughing and smiling while they made his bear and had him dance with the heart. Take your kids here. It was our first time and we will definitely be going back.

The employee stuffing the bear looked like she wanted to be anywhere in the world but there she didnt even try to do the whole heart process with my kid on her birthday she just told her to put it in i had to call her out and ask her what do yall not do the ritual thing anymore and she was like oh ok and did it with as little feeling as possible only reason why they getting 2 stars is becasue the other employees were doing there job and good it was just her who wasnt

The employee helping us was extremely friendly.She made my daughter feel extra special.

My trip to build a bear was tough. My mother recently passed and I was going to make copies of her speaker box that was her voice in my son’s bear. Cassidy at build a bear deserves more than five stars and a raise. She made me feel extremely comfortable and even turned off the music to get clear copies. No matter the reason for shopping- she gave me the ultimate customer service experience!

The store was clean and the staff was wonderful. We were assisted by the manager here, and she was so so friendly. Truly a great experience.

So much fun! My kids loved it and the staff was amazing! The register girl was rude! But the older male and women that helped were just Fantastic!

This place was an absolute mess. Non of the “precautions” they took had any logic at all! They had us standing 6 feet apart waiting for the stuffing machines... okay great! Just to be walking around the store right after to pick out the accessories right on top of the people you just stood six feet apart from... and then they rudely told myself and my husband to “back away” from the counter top... to spray it off. But didn’t spray the card readers or screens for the birth certificates... most of the things they were doing or trying... to do. We’re uncalled for and over kill. It made our stay over an hour because it was all being dragged out having to wait so long to do things.

The experience was fun, took my grandbaby for the first time. We both enjoyed picking out, giving me a sound, stuffing and dressing the BAB!

I was hoping that they would reconsider the birthday month policy during this pandemic if children need to stay home. I offered to bring in birth certificate and photo ID, but the store will only honor the payer age promotion if they can visibly see the child. It seems like most places are making modifications, especially when the Covid infection rate is so high in Dallas right now.

Absolutely love this location! Went in 30 minutes before closing to get our dad a last minute deployment gift and the staff were extremely helpful and just so dang sweet! Cassidy was so sweet and helpful, there was another woman who was new that was just killing it and also extremely sweet! I also loved the new protocols they have for covid, I felt very safe! Y’all have made a military family’s day!

Got 2 bears one for me and my baby. She loved it, even though she was looking for to the normal guidelines and she loves hugs, they found other ways to make her smile and laugh. Everyone working here is great and amazing. Thank you 💗.

Need a better selection

As a 25 year old 63 man I was not expecting to have to participate to the same level as children. The stuffing lady asked me to set the kitten down on the podium , she then grabbed it and ask me to hop on the peddle to start the stuffing machine as I walked up I thought hmm didnt know I worked here and stepped on it, she finished and asked what heart I would like for the kitten and I said red one (keeping real) , she placed the kitten back on the podium and ask me to hug the kitten and make sure its loveable (strange but okay) , I did as I was told she then said now grab the heart close your eyes and make a wish so I closed my eyes in wished I wish this was over... I opened my eyes and she asked my to shove the heart in the kitten so I gently yet firmly pushed the heart into the very very warm bear. She stitched it up and I was done.In conclusion I did majority of the work and I highly recommend.

That manager Sydney really has a beautiful voice! She sang her heart out for the birthday song and that is just something you can only get with raw talent. I look forward to seeing her again!

Not cheap, but awesome concept and if you are military with kids, add your own voice to there toys.

I took my daughter here for her 3rd birthday to get the pay your age bear. It was super adorable and they walked her through a fun process of building the bear and naming it. They even sang her Happy Birthday before we left. She absolutely loved it!

Several weeks ago I went to build a bear in grapevine mall for the trolls world tour bears and it was good, of course some new rules due to Covid-19 but fairly easy to follow, everyone was pretty nice and knew what they were doing, love my plushies super good! Thanks for the experience.

Very busy....took well over an hour to build and outfit a bear.

We come make a bear every year for my childrens birthdays. It is always so special & memorable. The employees at this location are passionate & make the trip special each timeI have also noticed a few of the same faces have been there since our first time which is nice & rare!

Nice place for kiddo to make their own teddy. Good to know that how they are sticking and making it, finally filling up with the fur and other additional accessories. Giving a shower to their teddy. Finally got a birthday certificate for the teddy. My kiddo enjoyed a lot. He got a dinosaur.

Even though the panda build a bear wasnt available for sale during the specific season, they were able to find one for me in the back room and let me build it :D long wait line, but great service! Wide variety of clothes makes for great customization options 👍 there were helpful employees that put care into the making of your build a bear even when it was busy

My daughter and I went into the Grapevine Mills Store to purchase 2 bears to send to my grandkids in Canada. We quickly picked our bears, and outfits, and waited for 10 minutes to fill while the ONLY employee checked out one single customer. But this one customer had a child who’s birthday was today so we had to sing and clap and everything before we could get our bears filled. So...she comes to us, suggests a voice message for our bears, helps create one and dang if another birthday child doesn’t come in and another child having surgery so needs a bear too. We lost the employee again. We stood for another 5-10 minutes waiting. I’m not trying to sound heartless but I don’t have all day. We never did get our bears and accessories, we left. I gave 2 stars only because the store was very clean. I’m very sad, really wanted this for my grandkids.

Went for my sons first visit after talking it up to him as a reward for giving up his pacifier. Was told the wrong pricing for the animal he chose and after he stuffed it, washed it, named it etc we go to pay and it rings up double what we were told! I couldnt take it away from him at this point. The manager honored the price the employee told me and we left. Unfortunately not even 24 hrs later the stitching had come undone! I am livid. My son is so sad he cant hold his new friend and all the magic is ruined. This product is advertised for children. Id think they would make them to last. VERY disappointed.

I am beyond disgusted by Karla the “store manager” at this location. Condescending, rude, improper. I tried to explain to her my situation & rather than listen attentively she continued to cut me off & basically told me she didn’t need my money, they have people lined up to come here. This is supposed to be a family store where you should feel comfortable taking your kids for a nice time, specially when you walk out of there spending $100 on a bear. I’ll never ever go to this store again.

Don’t use my time to train your employees. Train them on your time. Everything was ok until it came to check out and that process took 15 mins because she decided to add more stuffing (that we didn’t want) and proceeded to train her employees during that time leaving us at the register for 15 mins. We wanted to come and build a bear and leave- not spend our whole evening in a mall.

Lines are looooooong! Bring your patience. Staff is super attentive and great with the kiddos! My daughter loves her new bear!!

This was my second time at a build a bear and it definitely was great and fun! The lady that helped me was really nice.

Great place to get a special toy especially if you let the kids pick out what they want and help make it. Im a foster mom and I take every child that comes into my care (that wants to) here to make their own stuffed lovie. It can get expensive but only if you get all the extras. The kids even get to name and receive a birth certificate with their lovie.

The staff is friendly and knows how to accommodate large amounts of customers. They had a fantastic selection, including all the newest merch released.

Worst experience ever. Standing in the store 30 min. No staff contact what so ever. When they finally acknowledge us its do you want a sound with that. No hello, no are you finding everything ok. Asked for manager and was pointed to the lady at the counter that had looked right at us and said nothing. Standing in what appears to be the stuffing line, still no acknowledge, and apparently we are not a priority.Update... Bear now stuffed, was not offered a heart ceremony or if it felt ok, or how it should be stuffed. Girl asked if we were using a voucher, we inquired how to get it, and were rudely told you cant. At the register now finally the AM acknowledge us.....NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS ONE EVER AGAIN.....

Built a TMNT and a bear. Awesome for the kids.

Im been going to Build a Bear for 5 years now and this is our 3rd party there thats only reason why its getting 2 stars. We had our daughter 4th Birthday party there and the service was absolutely horrible. The party hostess did not explain anything to the children nor did they have any activities between the suffering of the animals she was rude and inconsiderate.Complain to corporate over week ago still havent heard back from them go. Lost a loyal customer .

RUDE, Terrible customer service! The employees are absolutely clueless on anything that has to do with Build A Bear. This is the closest location, but I will happily drive further out for a better experience.

While they have a great selection, the workers are horrible. Unattentive and dead on their feet. They didnt offer to do the heart ceremony with ANY of the kids while I waited in line- that was probly about 6 kids. When it was my turn the worker stuffed my dog and told me to grab a heart. Figured I wouldnt even bother asking to do the whole routine if they werent into it. Im a 26 yr old woman who frequently shops at Build a Bear for myself. This was my 13th animal. I prefer the smaller Parks Mall location over this one simply because the workers are so much more friendly and into the whole atmosphere of the company. The only good thing again is their bigger selection of animals and cute clothes. But the whole experience I feel is important for those who go, both children and the adults who enjoy it. Suffice to say Ill avoid this one unless Im desperate.

The bear part is really cool, but the CONSTANT upselling by every single person is a HUGE pain in the keister. Never again.

Awful experience- took 1 hour to get a bear today. New employee was stuffing the bears- poor girl clearly didnt know what she was doing and manager was doing nothing to help her. After about 40 minutes of waiting, I had to ask the manager to put a second person on the stuffing machine, which she did, and then the line of 5 people finally started to move. By the time my son got his bear, he was tired & over it- magic was gone. As we were leaving he said he never wanted to go back again. If we ever go back to BAB, we will for sure go to a different location.

Stay away from the Build A Bear at the Gaylord!! Way under staffed and they just don’t care!!! Been waiting for OVER an HOUR to stuff a BEAR!!!!!!!!!!! They have one lady stuffing - this is ridiculous!! GET SOME HELP!
