Carlos was extremely accommodating! My husband and I live in the area and were in search of a new mattress, so we thought why not just stop in to the local store. Before going in however, we looked at the reviews and notice he was predominantly who people were talking about, so we decided to stop in. We originally had no intention of buying the same day, but after going in and spending 2 hours in the store, we were more than happy to! Carlos was very impressive and arguably the most genuine, most honest sales person Ive ever dealt with. We didnt mention price to him, and he didnt seem too concern with it, he focused on our sleep needs, and was actually pretty funny also, which made the awkwardness of laying on random mattresses not seem so bad. He is a very knowledgeable young man, and was able to share information about different beds and how different materials effect your sleep. Without even giving him the whole background of our sleeping issue, he was able to get us on the perfect bed that we feel can solve our problem. I want to thank him so much for being patient with us, and spending the amount time he did to ensure we slept better. I had been looking at mattresses online, and kept going back to Mattress Firm. Since this store was the closest to me, I decided to go there. Jim greeted us as soon as we walked in. I told him who I was, as I had called earlier. The mattresses in the Floor Model sale were still more than I wanted to spend, so he showed me some in my price range. I wasnt sure what type I really wanted, and Jim was very patient with me. Asking questions, and pulled out a few different styles until I found one I was happy with. When it came time to pay, he offered us bottled water, and even discounted the price of the mattress I chose. We arranged to come back and pick it up before close that night. I have been sleeping on the mattress for about 3 weeks now, and have to say, I couldnt be happier! I have to give Jim a A+ for customer service and friendliness. A great addition to Truman Marketplace.

I needed a mattress, badly. I had been shopping online but most of those were 5-7 day shipping, which is understandable. Most of the online mattresses were foam which also had side support issues. I went to the local store, tried a couple of mattresses, received some advice and bought one. It is great!

Mattress shopping can be really annoying but Jim will make it a great experience! The service is great and they have a lot of knowledge to help select the right bed. Both Jim and Kathlene are very helpful if you need a mattress or are just looking for good pillows or sheets.

UPDATE: NOW Ive been told that the check the Store Manager told me yesterday that was processed on 12/13 and mailed on 12/16 was not actually cut until TODAY - 16 days after my purchase and return. I was told it would be here by today at the latest and now I am being told JANUARY 6! This is outrageous.Stay away from the Mattress Firm in Grandview or anywhere else! On 12/12 we needed a replacement mattress for our fold away bed so we would be ready for holiday guests. We told the salesperson, Kathleen the dimensions and she said we were wrong and just needed a twin foam mattress. We purchased with cash, took it home and it was a foot too narrow. We called Kathleen at the store to warn her because when we paid with cash she had to put it in an envelope as they did not have a cash register at the time. (Serious safety issue for their employees FYI). She said it was no problem as long as it was still in its original plastic. She called an hour later saying she had called her corporate help line to process the return and was told they could not refund cash. All refunds must go through the corporate office, she said after the sale. She told us she tried to fight for us but was told if she refunded our cash, that money would be docked from her pay and she would be written up. Nothing regarding their refund policy was mentioned before hand and there was nothing on our paid receipt. We had it back to the store within 3 hours of purchase, still in its original unopened plastic. She printed out a refund receipt and a small notation at the bottom stated All refunds are processed at the Corporate Office and included the Corporate phone # which is nothing but a warranty line or a redirect to the original store. I requested the Store Manager and District Managers names: SM Jim Bohanna, DM Aaron Grounds. It took me a few days to try to get a hold of Jim at the store. Every time I did call he was not in. I tried calling the Corporate Phone # Kathleen included on my receipt only to find out it was a warranty line. All the other options refer you back to the retail store where you mad your purchase. One of my children went on their website and talked to their customer service first via twitter than via email. She was finally given a customer service phone number and a promise they would call; this was on 12/20. On 12/21 at 4:30 in the afternoon I received a call while I was out running errands and. I told them I would have to call them back. The mail came today 10 business days and still no check so I called the number we were given in the email. It was for Sleepies Mattress company who first tried to transfer me to the Mattress Firm side, but sent me to a fax machine. I called back and was told he could try and transfer me to the Mattress firm side they should be able give me an update but it would be approximately 50 minutes on hold or I could try calling the store where I made the purchase. I called the store and finally the SM answered! He told me he would have to call me back because he was with a customer. I told him he had a half hour. He started to get a little mouthy but quickly pulled back. He did call me back in 21 minutes and said it should arrive between 12/22-12/28 (again my 12/12 refund receipt states 7-10 business days and today is 12/27). It took me calling them 9 times to get this information. They do not train their employees. Kathleen was a sweet woman but lacked the basic knowledge to answer our questions about the correct product we needed or the policies of her own company. She had to look on the website for a customer service number (again NOT a customer service line) BTW- if you are looking for a good quality mattress at a fair price please try Hawn Bedding in Lees Summit. They are a local manufacture, knew exactly what we needed, so professional, and even though they didnt have what we needed in stock they custom made it overnight at no extra charge!
