I had a clock repaired several years ago and it stopped working after about 2 months. I recently wrote a negative review about it and was contacted by the owner the next day. He talked to me about it, invited me to bring it back in and he repaired it a second time at NO CHARGE! He was polite and attentive and I am thoroughly blown away by his service. Wow, I cant believe it took me so long to write this review. We got engaged in August, 2017. I have to say the entire Medawar staff was amazing from beginning to end. However, I have to give a special thank you to Dan Medawar. I had a ring that was custom designed and he walked me through every step. He made sure to text or email me and keep me updated with the progress of the ring. He made the entire process smooth and easy and I cannot say enough good things about him.I had a vision of the ring and he reassured me that it would be exactly how we wanted. She was blown away by the ring and she still talks about how much she loves it.Ill definitely be going back to this jeweler in the future!

I Drive 2.5 hours from Northern Michigan to do business with Dan and his family and I will keep doing so. Real family run business that actually care about the customer experience. This family business is absolutely wonderful! My wedding ring broke and I brought it in to have them repair it. I really don’t recommend this jewelry store to anyone. 3 years ago I tried to sell them my Rolex, and was offered the worst price ever. I decided to give them another shot because I was in the market to purchase a Rolex and their reviews online were great. When I arrived I was treated okay. They said go look at the Rolex’s over there. No one even helped me until I asked to look at one, and not to mention They had an awful selection. I felt I was treated bad because of how young I was. I left very unhappy and won’t be back. Later that day I found the Rolex i was looking for at another jewelry store, and I don’t need to name the place. I just want to warn people they don’t treat you well if you’re young.

I received a new watch from my fiance as a birthday gift and needed to have a link taken out. Dan was extremely friendly and helpful. He took the link out while I waited and made sure the watch fit comfortably. The entire process took only about 10 minutes which was helpful since I was on my lunch break. I was in the market of finding a new band as well as updating the gadgetry in my watch. It is an OLD Chesie watch, with a circulating train as the second hand, passed down from my great grandfather to me as a high school graduation gift. When I walked in, I was quickly greeted by the owner himself, who passed me on to his grandson, who is a watchmaker by trade. Not only did they provide excellent service on the watch itself, a true family heirloom of mine, they praised the piece for its antiquity and inner mechanisms. I have to say I was really impressed at how great the service was. Furthermore, I wanted to take a picture of my watch to share with family and friends, and the grandson taught me a cool trick on how to capture it in just the right light.I rarely write reviews for things, but it was because of how highly reviewed the folks at Medawar were that lead me to going there in the first place, so I wanted to pay it forward. The staff here really know their stuff, and were incredibly friendly and accommodating along the way. I have yet to wear the watch since getting it revamped, and am eager to do so in a week when I receive my doctorate degree in physical therapy. This jewelry store is GREAT! Great service, great knowledge.I wanted a Rolex, so I went to Paul Medawar, an Authorized Rolex Dealer. I walked into Paul Medawar Fine Jewelry, feeling a little bit sheepish. I didnt know anything about fine watches, I wasnt even sure how much a Rolex would cost me. Dan was there to help me out. He asked me questions about what I liked in a watch. Often, my answer was, Im not sure. He would explain the options, show me examples, place watches on my wrist. Slowly we narrowed it down. I would try a watch on, then others, then back to the first. Dan was always listening, asking questions to help me clarify what I wanted, what my aesthetic was, (honestly, I didnt even know I had a watch aesthetic-but I do and it is quite specific.) Dan explained how different styles might meet my needs, pros and considerations, different options. I left about a forty five minutes later, having narrowed the field, but still unsure. I needed to think about it.A few weeks later, I went back to Medawar and was so happy to see that Dan was there. We again looked at styles, talked about options-I was really beginning to hone in to what was going to be the watch for me. I told Dan that I wasnt quite ready, but I would be soon.I finally made my decision and I am now a proud owner of a beautiful Rolex watch! I can not recommend Paul Medawar more highly. They are owned by different family members and each location has different inventory. I visited all of the Medewars amongst dozens of other jewelers and the location on Plainfield was by far the absolute best! They had a wonderful selection of engagement ring settings, diamonds, and they were reasonably priced. Dan was soo helpful and is a true expert! Impressed by his ability to meet my very picky needs. I had a valuable family heirloom diamond to be placed in a more modern engagement ring setting. We had looked at jewelry stores for months all over northern and western MI not finding anything special. Dan helped us order the perfect Verragio setting. Their selection was jaw dropping. Other stores wanted to ship the diamond in the mail to be placed. Ummm...no thats not okay. Here they had a jeweler who i personally met, and I even had him design a custom wedding band to match the setting perfectly. They communicated every detail with me, had sketches, a mold to approve, and it was done quickly and worked with us on price. I stare at my ring everyday and cannot believe how unique and gorgeous it is! I wouldnt trust any other place with a family heirloom...this is definitely the most secure and love how its family run. We drive from traverse city for their products and assistance and will absolutely be back!

A few months ago I went in with a couple pocket watches used for a uniform, and they fixed them up for free! Great people.

I brought in a White Gold wedding band to get re-sized at Medawars and a young, cocky, condescending sales person treated me like an idiot. After they quoted me at an OUTRAGEOUS price, I told him what other companies quoted me at and he rudely told me to take it somewhere else. Great job in losing a customer, and potential customers. I heard about this company through the community and will never go back, nor will I recommend them to anyone.

The people there are very polite and they know their stuff. I went to get my watch resized, the older gentleman said I was missing a spring bar, he said if I find it he will resize it for $10. Come to find out it was on my kitchen floor. I returned there and he resized it free of charge. Would recommend this for everyone.

She is clearly knows what she is talking about and is very good at communicating that knowledge to the customer, even a complete beginner like myself.I then met with Dave, who took over an hour of his time with me discussing watches, watchmaking... and programming. This was truly a genuine conversation and at no point did he try to sell me on anything I wasnt interested in. Dave is an expert in his craft and passionate about what he does.I have never had such a positive customer service experience. I was in the store for at least two hours and felt welcome the entire time. I look forward to doing business here for years to come.
