Very helpful friendly staff. Great experience learning to fly fish with the instructors and classes they offer. They had all the things we needed for fly fishing right there at Orvis.

Man I love this place. Kind staff and cool fly tying classes. The overall price of goods is more, however the quality of the apparel is substantially higher. I would go as far as saying the leggings are better than Lululemon (and are just as expensive). She loves them and her new wool socks!

I highly recommend this Orvis location if you need fly fishing materials within the Grand Rapids area. This location stocks a large amount of merchandise for all species. But I more recommend this store for the staff. I have treated with nothing but dignity and respect from the first day I walked in. The staff want to help you succeed out on the water by answering any questions. Other fly shops I have been to around the country can have the elitist attitude if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing it’s a waste of their time and you shouldn’t even be fly fishing. No such snobbery from the employees at this store. They’ll show you the best products and materials for whatever species you want to pursue. I’ve caught fish on flies I’ve tied only because I got those recommendations for materials and hooks to use, otherwise I would have gotten skunked. The staff offers fly fishing classes to teach novice anglers and they make the experience enjoyable by poking fun at themselves, but will show how fly rigs are set up for people who always were curious about fly fishing but felt intimidated by all the equipment used. They also offer many specials within the store on a regular basis. As I said great selection of products and a staff that wants to help you succeed on the water.

Awesome guys at the Breton village Ovis. They have always taken care of us and our needs. Some places say they know about fly fishing , these guys prove it. I would never go anywhere else for fly rods or gear.
