We were referred here by our local mechanic for a confusing, sporadic issue that was difficult to diagnose and repair. Bobby & his team worked hard on it and communicated well through it, but unfortunately referred us out as they were unable to fix it. Although we were not completely satisfied with our first experience, we returned for an exhaust repair a couple months later due to the quality communication and trusted referral source. Bobby & his team remembered us quickly and took care of us with impressive generosity and returned our vehicle with a well-done repair. Well be back!

I went in for an oil change and a headlight change and decided to wait there. They were quite busy but I was able to get in and out within an hour. They were very polite and friendly, and kept me informed on the status of my car. Definitely headed back to this location for any other car issues.

Second time going here. Both times I just walked around outside and at the park next door waisting time waiting for it to be done. Both times they knew this and said they would call when it was done. Both times they failed to do so. This time I feel they do that so they could charge me more for labor. Waisting my time so they can say it took longer. Didnt provide me with an itemized invoice/receipt.

Bobby saved the day by replacing my alternator on short notice on a Saturday so I could get to an out-of-town wedding. Work was done perfectly and price was very fair. Plus, he did it all with a smile. This is your new favorite mechanic - trust me.

Had a concern with my car. They came right out to the parking lot to check it out and apparently it was a easy and quick fix. I was low on break fluid. 2 minutes later I was on my way again! Great guys. I will definitely be back when I need breaks replaced.

Just took my vehicle in this weekend, and have to say that I will not be going to any other mechanic. I was told about Bobby by a friend, and thought I would try him out. The prices were very reasonable, and the service exceeded my expectations. Finding a good mechanic that you can trust, with integrity is difficult. I feel as though Bobby, and his colleagues definitely carry that trait, and is the reason for such raving reviews. Super lucky to have found his shop.

I dont doubt that you can have a smooth experience here. However, mine turned out to be long and stressful. A small part of the blame should be attributed to the fact that I had an issue that revealed itself sporadically. At first, they incorrectly diagnosed the problem. After paying a significant amount for it, I picked up my car and it died on the way home. Then, the same thing happened again, this time because there was a miscommunication between the mechanics and Bobby about whether my car was fixed. At times, I would call during open hours and get a voicemail that did not receive messages. I eventually received a partial refund and took it to a place right up the road, who identified and fixed it quickly

I took my car in to this Tuffy for two different services in the month of November 2013 - replacement of the entire rear section of my exhaust system and replacement of my rotors and break pads. Both times, the owner was friendly, down-to-business, and straight forward. Prices were incredibly reasonable. I was even surprised when my bill for the rotors and pads came in significantly UNDER what they quoted me before doing the work. Both times, I also got my car back the same day that I brought it in. Im extremely happy with Tuffy and would recommend them highly.

Cant speak to the quality of work as they would not provide me with service.I came by twice and was told they were too busy to change my oil. The first visit was just after 3P (they close at 6P) and was told that I should come by in the morning. The second time I came by at about 8:30a and was told they were too busy that day, unless I wanted to wait several hours to hope to get in. They also declined my request when I called between these visits to schedule an appointment.Clearly they are doing well and keeping busy enough that they dont need my business.

Bobby and his crew are beyond reproach with everything they do! The quality of work is excellent and Bobby is the most honest mechanic I’ve ever known.Every car in my family goes to Tuffy for repairs. Nowhere else!!!I would HIGHLY recommend Tuffy for anyone who requires an auto repair.

For years I would only let my family wrench on my car, but when I needed a big repair I had to find a mechanic. Bobby and his team are fantastic, and it really doesnt feel much different than dropping your car off at your uncles place. Yes, his parking lot can be frustratingly busy and sometimes tomorrow might mean a couple days later, but he is honest, hardworking, and kind, and you simply cannot beat his prices. Ive had my car serviced twice now for various issues, and I have no complaints!

Best experience Ive had with an auto repair shop yet! For the past 2 years Ive been having issues with a valve on my tire. And between north Carolina and michigan, the shops only fixed the issue. Not Tuffy! They solved the issue. Apparently, the chrome of the rim was cutting the valve, so they just chipped it away a bit. Hardly noticeable and solves the issue!Very quick service too....in and out under 15 minutes unlike other places where Ive waited two hours (with an appointment), then they would charge an arm and a leg. Not Tuffy though.Everyone there was also super friendly and funny.Next time I need something fixed with my car, this is the place!!!

Okay. Read the reviews. New in town. Decided to try them. My battery light came on and I had just replaced the battery so 95% chance it is the alternator, right? Went to place off Cascade, barely getting in the parking lot. Bobby was nice like everyone said. Brought it in during evening to work on next day, I thought.Next day, no word from Bobby. Went by around 4:00 pm. Said he hadnt had a chance to look at the car, but maybe he will do it tonight. I said how long does it take - he said well 2 or 2 and 1/2 half to change an alternator. i said, well, I guess you arent doing it tonight.Next day. No message from Bobby. Day Three of the communication. Called at 4:30 pm. Bobby said the took it around for 30 minutes or so and nothing was wrong. He said I could pick up without charge. So, I thought that was nice - even though it would be nice to get a call from an auto shop.Picked up the car at 5 pm with my wife following. Car was left with key in car. I guess he doesnt worry about people driving off his lot with cars that are not his.Two miles down the road. All hell breaks loose with the electric system of the car. Fails at Trader Joes. Called Bobby - he said, well, I guess it is the alternator. Really? Took three jumps to get it back to Tuffys.Next day - afternoon - again no call as to status. Called at 3 pm - Bobby said it was completed. Came in to pick up. Of course, Bobby couldnt find paperwork work again - very disorganized like the parking lot. Bobby said they still tried it and everything worked but they replaced it anyway. I said that seems odd. Talked to mechanic - got a different story. I dont believe they ever really checked it the first time - and I think its becausePicked up car. Bobby gave me a $45 discount for a total of $395 on a Mazda Tribute alternator job. Barely got out of parking lot.Not good. Will find somewhere else to go.

Today was on my way to book my reservation at Cascade park for my baby shower. I was driving and my brake caliper came loose.I had no idea what it was thought my passenger tire was going to come right out or something dangerous. It was close to closing when I pulled up they heard me coming from a distance, Im sure it sounded awful as soon as I pulled in they approach me and offer the assistance right away. I do appreciate the effort and time they took to do the temporary fix in order for me to get the parts I need, finish my errands and make it home. 5 stars all around thank you so much ^_^ .Sincerely,Julie Tran

I have unfortunately had to seek repairs to my car twice in the last year. The service was unbelievably fast, friendly and done properly. Cant say enough good things about the service here.

My guess is that Bobby does a good job on oil changes and basic service.I would not go again. We were lied to about part availability and our vehicle sat on a hoist for weeks without having any work done to it. My best guess is that when Bobby is out of his depth he just moves the vehicle around the lot.We have since noticed cars being towed away rather than being towed in and have heard from many disgruntled friends.It’s a total circus.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!I took my car in for an oil change and the manager backed an employees truck into the driver side of my door. I wasnt upset with them because accidents happen. Bobby the manager told me that he would take care of the situation even if he had to pay for it himself, but he lied. It is now 2 months after the accident and no one will call me back or take any action. I faxed my estimate in to the store within a week and followed up half a dozen times.I contacted Bobby today and nobody at the location is willing to do anything for me. I even called the owner of the store Tim and he wouldnt give me any of his insurance information and told me that if I dont trust them to take care of it, I can leave -- clearly I cant trust them. I feel very betrayed by this store and the employees and would encourage anyone/everyone to NOT go in there. In my experience, they do not take responsibility for anything that will happen to your vehicle while in their shop.

Good mechanic. They have fixed several of my cars. Reliable, fast and cheap.

They were extremely honest and genuine. They squeezed me in last minute when they were super busy and ended up charging me half of what we originally thought it was going to be. They showed me the part and explained all the options. They worked with on what I could pay and absolutely needed done. I highly recommend this place.

Called and asked about installing a new wheel bearing. They quoted $300. I clarified that Id bring the bearing and the knuckle, all theyd need to do is actually press it, he increased the quote to $400. I wouldnt pay them to work on my bicycle.

Hard working, fast service, and affordable. No $30 inspection fees, I told Bobby what I wanted and he got it done. No middle man b.s.I would recommend to anyone.

I just started using these guys for my auto work. No matter how busy they are, they always manage to squeeze me in for my repair. They have also been very honest with not trying to charge me to things I dont need. I will continue to use them.

I was worried Id have to tow my car all the way back from GR to Muskegon. Turns out, after two minutes on the phone with Bobby, he was able to diagnose the problem as a loose battery terminal. That man saved me about two hundred bucks. I dont even live in Grand Rapids, and Im keeping his number on speed dial from now on.UPDATE (3/16/14): Turns out, after getting the battery/alternator/starter replaced, I figured out what was draining my power so quickly - the door lock switch on the drivers door was stuck to the ON position. At least Bobby helped me get the car up and running so I could have it checked out!

Over the weekend the truck broke down and we were stranded in Freeport with a bad alternator. The truck was towed to Tuffy Auto Service in Cascade and was fixed by 3pm the same day. I was elated and super happy with the service. They were very helpful, reasonably priced and obviously fast in their service! AWESOME !!! Thanks TUFFY!!

Bobby at Tuffy honored my warranty when he easily could not have. I had my car repaired at Tuffy in East Lansing so he also saved me a drive. I have power steering again and i didnt have to pay a penny!
