My wife and I were feeling a little crafty so we decided to meander over to our local Michaels and see what kind of inspiration we could find! The store never disappoints and always on our go-to list for last-minute projects.

Was not impressed with this store. I needed an engraved plate for my brothers memorial flag case. The sales clerk wasnt forthcoming with info I needed for the plate. I felt like I was an inconvenience...not a customer. She said it would take about a week. After 2 weeks we called to find out status...Michaels said they lost my contact number & were waiting for us to call. So we picked up the plate. Noone apologized for any inconvenience...just handed me the plate and went about their business. I hope I never need anything from Michaels in future. Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Dont know how they stay in business.

Found some good deals there was a wait at the registers but there were only 2 employees in the whole store. I appreciate the people who showed up and helped us with our purchases.

Nice store. Some of the shelves were empty so I think they were stocking for the Holidays. This store seemed more organized with big signs indicating each area. The cashier was extremely friendly. When I told her I wasn’t a member, she indicated there was a coupon online I could use then patiently waited while I found it.

Needed help locating a specific item. The Michaels associate was very helpful and even walked me to the back of the store to locate it with me.The cashier was knowledgeable fast and friendly

My fiancé and I were there for a little over an hour looking for body paint. We lapped the store several times searching for the one employee that was working on the floor to ask for help, and when we finally got her attention she sent us in the wrong direction. When I tried to go back and tell her that we already had checked there, she was walking away and and ignoring me. We kept trying to get her attention and she would not help us and didn’t seem to know much about the store. We finally went up to the cash register and the lady behind the register walked us to the body paint and was super helpful. However, what should have been a quick trip lasted over an hour and was very unsatisfying. You need to hire more employees for your store! It’s very irresponsible to put the responsibility on one employee when there is a store full of frustrated people.

Wide range of products with reasonable pricing and quite accessible from my home. My wife loves this place, got our Christmas tree from here for 49 during black Friday deal !! #letsguide

Love going into Michaels to just browse and get inspiration for crafts

My mother peeled the code for her gift card off, but I of course threw the receipt away & ended up needing a reprint so my mom can receive assistance from customer service.Rylie took the time to find the receipt for me. Just left the store! It is being remerchandised so it was a tad messy but that is to no fault of the asociates, you cant rearrange a whole store without a bit of mess so thats completely understandable!Riley (I hope Im spelling it right!) was great helping me find 3 specific items to make a bulletin board for work, taking time out of her tasking to assist me and was very kind and engaging. Rachel at the register was also very nice and pleasant. The other two older women associates seemed to be unable to care about anything other than the tasking they were doing and could benefit from a refresh of customer engagement training.

Worst craft retail store ever. Terrible customer service policies especially if you buy online. Many items are misrepresented online leaving you no option to return and then they make in-store returns overly and unnecessarily complicated. Ive dealt with this multiple times and will never shop here again.

Fine selection, helpful staff. Always have deals going on, so check their site for coupons.

Definitely one of my favorite places to go for supplies

My grandson and I splurged, putting everything he wanted into the shopping cart. But since things have no price labels on them, we had to wait till we got to the cashier to assess whether I had brought enough money. Because of course I was only going to spend twice what Id budgeted--because my grandson.Katie was our cashier and she was wonderful. Despite being the only cashier in line, she took the time to scan each item and tell me what the cost was so I could decide whether or not to keep something or put it back.Totally customer focused and I really appreciate it.And if for some reason you dont know, Michaels is a wonderful store for buying crafts, and art supplies--Cricuts, wool, balsa wood, paint, fimo, framing, cake decorating, and holiday specials.As we used to say in early Boomer days, Be there or be square!

Its like most Micheals. They have a wide assortment of art and crafting supplies, they do custom framing, and they have a small home decor section that always has fun seasonal stuff. They are well stocked and clean. All my interactions with the staff have been pleasant.

Busy and not enough help. Unfortunately that is the trend everywhere these days. Good selection of items. Some good deals.

Found stuff i had been looking for, that i hadnt found anyplace else.

Followed my fiance around as she planned out how to drain our bank accounts buying craft goods. The prices all looked fair, and the acrylic brushes had plenty of labeling to help you pick what you need.

Only craft store non Christ obsessed. The Lord, and Muhammad arent interested in Sunday hours for innocent people.

It’s unfortunate but the daytime manager at this location is unwilling to properly wear a mask. I have been to this location twice and discovered every employee, except the manager, properly wearing their masks. What kind of an example is she to employees she manages? Perhaps Michaels should consider another employee for manager?

My kids love crafts so Michaels is our go to. The store has a wide range of craft items. My previous shopping experience was online pickup. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about the pickup process. I was able to get in and out rather quickly.

Im giving 3 stars and I think being pretty generous. I placed an online order of 4 or 5 items I wanted my husband to pick up because this location is near his work. He hadnt received the email yet but he went in and asked about it. The slightly negative review isnt because it wasnt ready yet. I understand that its around the holidays and they are busy. This review is in regards to the customer service. They more or less told him they were busy, he could go wait in his car for the email? I then called and was told the same thing. I pointed out that he was there now so could she at least look into it and see if someone was possibly working on the order or if I should have him just grab what I needed cause you know he was physically in the store now. She seemed very put out by my request but did check on it and yeah he would have basically been waiting for a couple hours. If they had checked on it right away when he inquired about the order this review would have been very different. He also mentioned the store was very disorganized compared to the other location we go to more frequently. I get it, the holidays are a stressful time to be in retail but its still kind of your job to be helpful to customers? Just a thought. Im very disappointed and would probably not return to this location.

Loved the inventory selection, however was very disappointed with the lack of people named Michael working here. Great art supply store though!

Good service helpful and fast

I love going to this Michaels location. I feel they have more items in stock than the location by my home. Maybe its just my imagination! The store is always well organized and clean. All of the staff is always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. Yesterday, while there, they were doing a free crafting class in the front of the store. I did not partake, but it looked like fun! The associate, who cashed me out said the would be doing them all week.

Good sale on plastic storage containers.

Needed a frame for the folded flag which was given to my mother in law. Found a beautiful frame which also had room for the gun casings (from the 21 gun salute) and a couple pictures or mementos. Got a 40%off coupon which brought the price from $75 down to $47. And the salesperson in framing was so helpful and kind. Thank you for easing a difficult job.

Good customer service and coupon

First experience here, and the prices were decent. However, I think Ill stick with the company that I usually go to, which shall remain nameless out of courtesy. There I know I can go straight to the counter in the middle of the store and it help picking a frame getting a mat cut and putting it together before I leave the store. Here I ended up picking a frame that was the exact size of my picture since they didnt have any pre-cut mats that size. Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things but its an in store experience thing.

28th St Grand Rapids. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Store is well organized and well stocked. Great rewards program and coupons. Good for seasonal decorations, beaucoup craft items and in my case - beads for a make up brush holder - better quality and much cheaper than most online stores for larger quality.

One of the oldest independent book store in grand Rapids the wooden floors creak, it smells like books and there is a cat in there

There was not help at the sales floor.Also the day was to windy and a wood board that says Christmas hit my wifes head, anyone at the staffing crew walk into us to help.

Great grocery store find when we were on the road and looking for something to eat besides the usual roadside faire! The staff was helpful and even heated up our food for us. Delicious!

You can find just about any craft supplies you need here. Theres almost always a coupon available on the app, so you pretty much never need to pay full price.

Offers hard to find fine art supplies as well as all the necessary items for any craft or home decor project. Service was prompt and friendly. Staff were kind and very helpful.

Its not even February and the Valentines selection is a tiny 2 shelf section.

Curbside pickup is cool, but ordering using mobile phone is not intuitive.

Always have great craft supplies and coupons for incredible deals. I take my kids here for craft camp and they absolutely love it. We pick out craft supplies and the staff always have great ideas and are super helpful.

How does a craft store not have origami paper? Their paper craft section has nothing but scrap book stuff. They only had 2 scrap book paper packages that were square that could be used for origami. One on white and one small size in glitter rough paper. Even if you drop origami at least try to stock stuff used for it and scrap booking. A lot of scrap book albums are square so why they dont carry a bigger variety Ive no idea. I would rather buy stuff here than hobby lobby but their variety is becoming sad.

I used to love the variety and the ideas here, but after an online order gone bad I may be done. I had to follow up twice with a shipment that came broken only to have the woman on the phone aploligise for no one replying to my question about a refund for 5 days because they are experiencing high volumes of calls. I got my refund quickly, yes, but the quality of the product shipped was pretty bad compared to the other frames Ive gotten there in the past.

This a good Micheals to go to. They have a great selection, and awesome clearance. The clearance section is really spread around, but the main clearance section is in the middle of the store behind paper crafting. I mainly purchase paint and canvases here, because I get such a great deal with coupons.

The store itself appears to be quite old and small. I was able to find a few of the things I was looking for, but I had to stop at a different craft store for the rest. Lots of open space, but not many products.

Fav place to grab canvas and slap dat paint on it. Super affordable.

I went in for clearance yarn, picked out a bunch, and what was in the baskets of the clearance yarn when I get to the register wound up only to be 2 out of all that I picked out.I think they need to do some reorganizing during the day. Thats what we did at a different craft store I worked at. We did that a couple of times a day, and even when we were really busy.

It was okay.

I love this store! Sometimes it can be challenging to find someone to help on the floor, but all other services are good!
