I called ahead and asked for some specific jellybeans, and the person answering the phone didnt sound annoyed. In fact, when I brought my daughter into the store, the same person helped me find what I was looking for and was very happy with my experience. While I was there, I asked about a certain cheese, and at least three different people talked to me about that, and while I wasnt able to purchase cheese at the time, I do plan on coming back. The store was clean, the employees were kind to my talkative 7 year old, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth or a... cheese tooth?

This place used to be amazing. My husband and I visited and purchased item often, and it’s somewhere I took family and friends when they visited because I loved it so much. Instead of sweet candy it now smells like a gross butcher shop… because it is now part butcher shop. This should have never been allowed to happen. The Hog and Hen ruined this place introducing the pungent odor of a butcher shop, and I won’t be coming back. So incredibly disappointed.

Cute little store. I went here for one reason which was cherry coke bottles and they discontinued them there and told me to go online. If thats the case Ill take all my candy shopping business online or to a different candy store.

This place has it all: old timey candy, off-kilter treats, drinks of all types (alcoholic included now,) savory treats, and even a butcher shop. A little bit of something that can please anyone. If you cant find a treat for you here, you wont find it anywhere.

Fantastic shop in the heart of downtown Grand Junction on Main St. They have a huge selection. I have to stop and grab some of their delicious fudge whenever Im in the area. Its a must stop shop

I needed an order of licorice candies delivered to a friend of mine who was recently admitted to a Grand Junction assisted living/nursing home facility. We live out-of-state. This morning, I emailed the store with my request. Within minutes of the stores opening, I received a phone call from the owner. He was so friendly and extremely helpful with his advice. He handled my request 100 percent and at the end of our conversation, he told me that he would personally deliver the order. For personal reasons, I cant share details, but Ben Hall is not just an amazing entrepreneur, hes also a genuinely kind person. A wonderful experience. I had no previous experience with this store, but its a definite five star recommendation from me. And...this is my first review ever. Im not a social media type. Thank you Ben.

Awesome shop. Incredible selection of sweets. This place is a must-stop if youre on main street. I got some ice cream, and it was amazing. My wife got a selection of delicious chocolates.

We were so happy we finally checked this place out! HUGE selection of vintage, foreign, unique, obscure, and novelty candies! The staff was very helpful. Because of the pandemic, things have changed so that you cannot handle items so they were offering up samples (with gloves) and very helpful with answering questions. We found the staff very friendly and excited as well. We got to try so many new things and purchased a bunch of unique things to take home. We only got through half the store and plan to go back soon to try more things. It was such a treat, literally!

What a awesome little find in downtown Junction. Love the deco and all the sugar!!!! Plus freshly made truffles. To note: of you like some spice.... you gotta try their cayenne truffle... the bomb!!!!!!

I am giving this store 2 stars bc their variety of candy is really impressive! The store is clean and well lot and huge. The reason I am not giving this establishment 5 stars is as follows: imagine bringing your children into a candy store where the employee approaches each member of your party and tells them they are only allowed to pick up candy if you intend to buy it! I have an allergy to artificial sweeteners so I have to check labels for those allergens. Besides that, we were offered gloves when we walked in but only for certain items. One shop clerk is supposed to handle all product for every single customer in the store? And when I explained that her following us around correcting us makes for an unpleasant and stressful shopping experience and asked how her handling everything after being exposed to every customer who walks in makes it any safer for her to do it for every guest and the argument she made is she washes her hands between each interaction. I am here to tell you that is impossible as she would have to go into the store bathroom between people to do so and she definitely did not while we were in there. So why doesnt this business just require EVERYONE to wear gloves and then they can safely handle the product? I told the clerk we were leaving early rather than continuing our shopping experience cutting our purchase to $18 rather than the $50 we planned! I am sure I am not the only customer who has done so for those reasons, just the only one to try and reason and make sense with the employees. I wont be returning any time soon.

Absolutely delightful! We came in very closing (which we didnt know at the the time) and were welcomed in warmly. Upon realizing the store was about to close, I grabbed something small and went to check out. When the woman behind the counter saw what I was getting (a bag of black licorice candies), she excitedly took me around the store to sample some of her favorite types of the black stuff. Not only was she personal and kind, but she also let me sample for free! She showed me these incredible caramels that I wouldnt have purchased if she didnt let me try one. She was also very accommodating and warm with the rest of my party. All in all, a wonderful experience!

Great selection of hard to find candy from Razzles to Japanese candy. Good selection of Jelly Belly. This place also has gourmet doggie treats! Prices are reasonable. A definite stop for your sweet tooth.

Nasty clerk....plus we hadnt been in there in months because the last time a few pieces of candy was close to $25.00, and most of it ended up in the trash as it was old and my 8 year old would not eat it. After the nasty clerk snapped at us we left and will never go back. We were trying to buy local to help out struggling small businesses.

WOW! What an amazing store! Ive been there twice this week while were visiting from out of town, and I plan on going back again before we leave. They have a HUGE selection of all different types of candy - this isnt your standard selection of candy that you see at a gas station - they have truly unusual types of candy that you just wont find anywhere else. Reading through some other reviews, it seemed like a few of them focused on some of the candy being more expensive - which may be true - but if youve never been to a candy store like this before, youll know its definitely not the type of place where you go to get a deal on a Hersheys bar. They have an excellent selection of homemade fudge, as well as a bunch of handmade truffles - best of all - a huge selection of homemade butter toffee! I just tried one and its even better than Engstroms, which has been our local favorite every time we come to town. Theres also the largest selection of specialty sodas Ive ever seen. And if you like the chocolate oranges that break into segments, look no further.The second you walk in the door, they give you a quick COVID primer (please dont touch things you dont plan on purchasing and ask for help with bulk stuff out of the bins).Definitely stop in this place - you wont be disappointed. And if you ever make road trips and get stuck driving, check out the caffeinated caramels by the register - they really do work!

This is a great candy shop! The woman who was working showed us all around and even let us try some of the candy. I bought some truffles but I couldn’t decide between two kinds to finish my box and she let me have the truffle I didn’t choose for free! They were REALLY good and I couldn’t recommend this place more to anyone.

We absolutely LOVE Candy Time. Every single employee is super helpful and kind and the variety of candy is outstanding. We will always stop here every time we are downtown from now on!

At 6pm on 7/31/2020 i took my nephew to the candy story to reward him for helping me. When we got there the Rude Girl at the counter as me to wear a mask. I told her i am exempt, she said she didnt care. i informed her that is a violates the executive order paragraph i, ADA article 3 and 42 U.S. code 12182. she repeated herself she was told to not let anyone in without a mask and said i will be trespassing.so i am pursuing legal action, and they are NOT disabled friendly.

I happen to be in Grand Junction once a year, and I made this one of my mandatory stops on my way back. Being from Europe, I love the mix of European still-rare-to-find candies that I always crave, and old times American candies that my friends recognize from their childhood. It is always enjoyable to go to this shop. They always have a very vast variety of old-time candies, and sodas to be able to purchase. The staff is very friendly and are willing to help you with whatever your questions may be.This place is one of my favorite places to get different varieties of ginger, root beer, and cream sodas.This place used to be on the corner of main and 5th but has moved into a bigger building, which seems to fit them very nicely.

Elise was very helpful in finding the candy I was looking for. I like the way everything was displayed and organized. The Shoppe was open later in the evening, one of the few stores we were able to shop in. I really enjoyed the surrounding area, the arts and landscape was a pleasant place to wander. Thank you for the memories of my dad, I found a Bit O Honey. The staff was minimal, but for a small business a little wait gave me a chance to look around some more.

This shop is adorable with a great candy selection! Im a visitor to Grand Junction and nothing says Main Street like a locally owned and operated candy store. Elise was so wonderful and keeps her store in pristine shape. Oh, and the candy was great too! A must visit!

Fudge was DELICIOUS! We got the Raspberry fudge, Pecan fudge, Walnut fudge, and the Mint fudge! Fudge was really soft and very delicious! I would definitely recommend the shop for the homemade fudge.

This has to be one of my favorite shops to visit in downtown Grand Junction. They have such a variety of sweets including some decadent selections from a small business in Glenwood Springs. Seeing them support a fellow small business like that really makes me proud to be patron of their establishment. Friendly staff and a sweet selection. Summed up in one sentence? They really do make you feel like a kid in a candy store!

This place is phenomenal. They had candies that I hadnt seen in decades and I didnt know that they still made! They had a bunch of Harry Potter stuff on the wall which was a bit intimidating for me as I am a filthy muggle. The staff took me by the hand, told me everything would be okay, and showed me their wares. Lovely staff, and a beautiful store. It was a treat for the eyes and the taste buds! Go and leave your diet at home!

OMG This place is the cutest! They have all the candies from your childhood and some new ones as well. You can get singles or bag up a bunch and weigh it out. The staff there was really kind and friendly, too. Definitely will be back there when I get a sweet tooth!

I took all my kids and all bought close to 50.00 worth of candy.. most of it made it to the trash can since it was way past its expiration date. The candy was hard and there was no way you could eat it. Pretty disappointed considering the candy was priced pretty high

Decent selection compared to your everyday gas station But the poor customer service nearly ruined the taste of my vintage candy. This must be the owners sad attempt at humor, for how could the staff at this presumably sweet shop leave me feeling so bitter?

I went in inquiring about a job as a sign in the window indicated they were hiring part time. The owner was there and was extremely rude! I do not know how they stay in business with just horrendous human relations practices. Judging by the other reviews on here I am not the only person to be treated like this.I have been turned down for jobs before, it is not a big deal. But to be talked to so rudely was uncalled for.Seriously, how can you be so grumpy working at a candy store?!
