First experiance was talking with one of their workers over the phone. I have not been on a bike in a very long time and am currently a size that I would not trust with a cheap bike. Guy on phone answered all of my questions happily and gave me the hours for the shop.Arriving at the shop we were greeted right away. All of my, probably silly, questions were answered and I left with a bike that I have been happily riding all weekend. I will be coming back for more bikes for the while family as they need them.

Unless you want to pay $140 for them to tell you every thing looks good I suggest doing it yourself. I can appreciate the work done to check over the bike but having a tune up fee of $140 then additional charges on top for any actual work done is overpriced. If there was a breakdown of why the tune up fee is $140 and the actual work that falls under that fee I would be more understanding but saying everything looks good and charging an additional fee for bleeding the brakes on top of the tune up fee is overcharging.

Customer service is incredible! It is obvious that they care about their customers and know the industry inside and out. Having lived all over the country I have come to appreciate it when you find a business that cares about their customers like they do and for that reason I will not go anywhere else.

Super knowledgeable and helpful staff, they helped install my bike seat and taught me how to adjust it with lots of patience. When I popped a tire they were great, I was able to drop it off and they sent a text when it was done it was so convenient and quick. I will always recommend The Ski and Bike Shop to any of my friends looking to buy, fix or maintain their bike!

I brought in my rear rim for spoke and hub service, they replaced a couple of spokes and they found a few springs in my hub that needed replacing. Unfortunately they had to order the parts for the hub so I was worried about how long it would take to do because I was planning on going to Minneapolis for bmx racing the following weekend. They put my mind at ease by being very responsive and quick with service! They had my rim for about a week which is short for the parts I needed for the hub. Im not going to miss out on any bmx fun this weekend thanks to the staff!! Super lucky to have such a great local shop!!

I came into ski and bike after my car broke down and I needed a mode of transport fast. They set me up with an amazing consignment Trek bike which was amazing quality and made sure it was serviced before I left that same day. 100 percent still love my bike after all these years and it still rides like a dream. Hands down the best place in town for a bicycle.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon. The one sales guy was wrapping up a sale as we looked around at bikes, planning to buy two of them that day. After the other customers left and we were still browsing the store, we were never even greeted or asked if we needed assistance. Heard two more employees laughing in the back and the sales guy never even left the counter. No one spoke to us, even when we stood next to the counter for a bit waiting to get the guys attention. Did I mention WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE?! Walked right out since no one would even put in the effort to aknowledge we were there.

Have had the privilege to know the shop for many years. Pat and Terry, along with the rest of the crew, are very knowledgeable in what they do. Recently I had them do an overhaul on a trek remedy 8, $400 for new maxxis tires, chain, suspension/brake bleeds, derailleur adjustment and installing a new free hub spacer and saddle.. got the bike back in quick time for all the work that was done. Handled spirit mountian (bike park in Duluth, MN) with a smile on it’s face after the top notch repairs. Also have a trip to Oregon coming up, to do some summer snowboarding. In the middle of summer they brought out the wax for a tune with little time to turnaround, just picked the board back up well in time for the Amtrak tomorrow! Keep on rocking and rolling SBS! -CS

I was Traveling through town on a Saturday and my crank and pedal were loose, stopped in to see if I could get it tightened up. I run a sram dub lower bracket that had wiggled loose recently and the associate wouldn’t do anything for me. He said I could come back and pay $25 for someone to look at it but they were a week out. Well I didn’t need anyone to look at it I knew what was wrong with it and I didn’t have a week to wait. Maybe for an actual service yes I could wait. but this was a loose peice that requires a specialty tool. I asked the employee also if he had the tool for sale I could fix it myself and he walks around one display stand (assuming it was the tool one) and says nope. I did everything short of asking if I could use the tool I’m sure they had in the back. I proceeded to ask if he had a tool to tighten my shimano clipless pedal. “Nope we don’t even sell shimano” Going to have to schedule a time with a mechanic and pay $25 to look at it. I get it nothings for free and I would of gladly even paid $25 to get my crank tightened that day. but I needed the basics to get back to riding on a Saturday. I’d love to support this shop and buy a pair of Oakley’s or whatever shades they sell here or some other product, maybe a bike one day. but every time I’ve visit this shop i feel like I’m waisting the employees time because I’m not there to buy a bike. if someone can’t give me a few minutes to help me out or even ask where I’m headed to ride. then I don’t have time to buy a bike here. I’ll continue to buy my own specialty tools (and bikes) from a non local internet source. I Was able to order the tool online. I actually serviced the crank myself and it was an enjoyable process. Took me all of 10 minutes to disassemble clean, lube, reassemble and torque to spec. Man it would of taken even less time then that to just tighten it a bit.
