I have been to this Safeway pharmacy for a flu-shot, a COVID booster and a pneumonia shot this month. The pharmacy is very busy. But the pharmacist and staff are very kind and helpful. I hope Safeway recognizes their efforts.

A wide variety of groceries at what is fair pricing looking around. Clean, fresh surroundings as well as friendly staff. Self checkout available, various modes of payment accepted and usually quick service.

This Safeway is one of my favorites. Absolutely love the pharmacy here. I dont have a single prescription but I have gotten shots there. The store itself is clean and organized.

Everyone was really helpful! I needed to get my 2y.o to the bathroom in a hurry and the lady behind the deli counter was such a delight! She dropped what she was doing and showed me where they were. She was just so nice!

I came here to see if others had similar experiences and one of the first reviews was about selling 3 year old gum. My experience I feel should have different. Last night I purchased packaged ground beef. I always check the dates and usually try to get the freshest package available. I was tired and didnt check, the meat expired 4/17 and I purchased 4/25. When I opened the package to cook some of the meat, the meat looked fine and didnt have an apparent bad odor. I cooked the meat and ate most of it. Woke up today with food poisoning. I took the meat to return it not with any intentions or hopes for compensation or anything. Although the clerk was apologetic, to be told the only option was to get a refund or an exchange was disappointing. I got sick and I feel there should have been more of a better approach to the situation. I probably will be staying away from the meat section for awhile if not forever. Its too bad because its the closest store to me. Anyway, check your dates customers and employees for that matter.

Sometimes customer service isnt up to par. Couple workers in particular really dont seem well, like they are in pain and moves so slow you really dont want their help.

I really try to give Safeway credit, but its always difficult. This place shows they do plastic bag recycling and I get there and they were not very amicable and also they do not recycle plastic bags (so I was told). Good prices and the closest grocery store to my house, but I really just dont dig the environment here as it is not welcoming and I have not had good interactions with employees here.

I enjoy the Dietz & Watson brand for cold cuts and hot dogs. This trip we got some baked chicken 🍗 and coleslaw for a quick Friday night diner instead of standing in welcome long lines at local restaurants, it was a great choice

Why do the rude pharmacists always ask my birthday before greeting me? Does HIPPA mean nothing to these dolts? Are they real pharmacists or just beginning school? Really Safeway????

Went in to buy myself a snack, figured some fruit gummies would be nice. So I grab a box off the shelf, not even thinking to check the expiration date because they never last. When i finally get out to my car to enjoy one, something tastes funny so I check the box and they expired in June 2019. It is February 2021!Completely unacceptable.

- Today I went to Safeway store in Golden, Colorado (1701 Jackson St, Golden, CO 80401).- I was shocked when I saw them selling Orbit chewing gum for unreasonable cheap price $0.89. When I looked at the expiration address I found that it is expired since 2018! Two years ago.- The question: why will they sell it at this cheap price?- By the way, this is not the first time to do this. They did this a couple of weeks ago with the cheese, burger patties, etc.- I am 100% sure that this is part of the Safeway policy.- I live by this store for 12 years and I have tens of pictures and videos about this policy: selling with cheap silly price to trick people buy stuff that has been expired for months and years.

Im always happy when I can find caramel and mocha liquid sweetener drops! Yay for low carb!Btw, couldnt find them at Walmart! Also, the flavors youd use with coffee or milkshakes (keto, of course) were actually in the coffee aisle instead of with Koolaid.

This is quite literally the rudest and most judgmental grocery store ive ever been to. Not all the employees are but 90% will treat me with utmost discontent n a demeanor of that of an elderly man shoeing a fly. Ive been homeless this month so im not quite looking the best. However, im not a thief. I’m not rude. I’m not judgmental. N these employees will go from a smiling conversation with someone to a straight disgusted looking face when i say anything to them. Become very short n abrasive. if i wish a formality of a nice day. They blow it off openly and rudely. Now, if i shop n cant decide what i want. Which is common for me. There will be an officer waiting outside. Only to appear after i come to this store. But they never enter the store. So they have started calling the cops when i come there.

Love the vitamins and supplements section-brands they carry. They carry Pure Essence products - completely valid company and helped my cellular health recovery after a strenuous elevation climbing hike. Thankful for the supplement tip from a friend of what I should be taking and discovering what Natural Grocers has to offer!

I love the store spacious and clean and as well stocked except for frozen vegetables. Why arent there any frozen vegetables? Or at least very few...

Lots of bare shelves. Frustrated with Just for U promotions. Is not giving me my rewards. Customer service number on receipt takes you to a long computer answering service that ends with it hanging up on you 15 minutes later. Shop here and at any Safeway less and less all the time. Poor experience. Poor promotions. Terrible customer services as store manager cannot help with issue. Store workers are great. This is poor upper management and customer service. F for FAIL is grade I would give them.

Cashier was a little grumpy other then that was ok

Clean store, relatively easy to find the things you need, and a good selection of items for a tiny town store. This is where I go any time Im on this side of town for groceries, and thankfully they sell alcohol now too, so its a one stop shop if Im feeling lazy (though Golden does have a very nice selection of liquor stores). Keep up the good work guys!

Beautiful Store, great Staff

Prices are high compared to city market, but obviously that is a lot further down the valley and Fireside Market is high and much more limited. If you ever do need help it is pretty rare someone is behind the customer service counter, not sure if that is a staffing problem or just avoiding it😆. They do what they can for being the main grocery store in a tourist town but arent always the most pleasant people. I worked in a grocery store for 7 years, I get it ha.😅

This place would be average if they had more self checkout lines. They have 4 self checkouts and usually one person working a register. So, there is almost always a line to check out. They also dont have very good deals or prices most of the time. King Soopers down the road has enough self-checkouts and you rarely wait in line, so I mostly go there. This place also smells nasty and weird sometimes. The only thing they have on soopers is they have a few hot sauces I like.

I feel very safe here during COVID-19. Aisles are one-way; all employees and customers wear masks; customers almost always follow social distancing guidelines; store is seldom crowded. And I know where most things are now. Selection is decent (though not the best), as are prices. I find employees to be generally courteous and helpful. Parking is convenient, and so is store location for me.

This place has everything a person needs for food and more! There is a great variety of cold brew in cans, which was so appreciated!

Having the same problem as Pa, empty shelves and Just For U is a JOKE!!! Not to mention the spoiled meat I keep paying FULL price for! Seems to be getting worse, beware of their chicken, pork and breakfast sausage unless ya want to be Sick! Ive been shopping at their store at 1701 Jackson St. in Golden for near 13 years now and I think its time for a change in management or something, until then Ill drive the extra mile to go to King Soopers where I can get all my groceries cheaper and not worry about premature spoilage! YUCK!!!

I really hope they lose the blender and go back to making hand-smashed guacamole, that stuff was the best.

This is just gonna be your average Safeway. Nothing really all that special. If you are in the market for a slightly more organized store, id recommend trying out the King Soopers on Golden Rd. slightly more east. One bonus is that I have never found maggots in the chicken from this Safeway, as i did in the Safeway in Denver on federal and 27th.

To say that this Safeway is terrible, would be an absolute understatement. Why are all Safeway’s in Colorado horrible? They were the best in Washington. This particular Safeway can’t manage to stay well supplied in anticipation of their value meal deal offerings. Generally, their prices are terrible. I buy something here and then see I could have purchased it much much MUCH cheaper at King Soopers. There are a few things that are great: the location, the Wyman’s frozen berries, and since I shop here when I need something from somewhere close, I tend to get quite a few rewards deals that make shopping here once in a while the best value.Now let’s talk about the pharmacy. These are educated people, or they should be. They switched to a different generic that absolutely didn’t work for me. I spoke to one particularly rude tech that basically said ‘they have the same active ingredients’, to which I said, ‘I’m aware, that’s why I’m confused about why this medication isn’t working AT ALL’. She did not empathize, she did not validate, she did not offer any help or solutions. So I called back a week later and spoke to a pharmacist, she said, ‘if your prescribing doctor writes this particular thing on your prescription, we will fill it with the generic you used to get’. So I felt relieved. Lo and behold, when I take the prescription there to get it filled, I ask if they have the generic I used to take in stock and I explain what the pharmacist told me, and I just get a flat out NO from the tech. I try to explain that this is explicitly what the pharmacist told me but am just met with absolute resistance.In short, I don’t recommend this Safeway, unless you enjoy shopping begrudgingly (which admittedly, I do when I go here). I’ve been off of my medication for over a week because of this, it’s frustrating and infuriating, and at no point did I even get the tiniest semblance of empathy, except when the last tech said ‘I’m sorry’, probably because at that point she could see my frustrated, helpless expression, and tears starting to well in my eyes.

My wife was in need of tonic water Schweppes tonic water that is so on our way home we stopped at this Safeway here in Golden to pick some up, they did have it in stock. The storms clean very nice looking then the customer service was very good the cashier that rang us up was friendly and helpful and took good care of us thank you.

This is my favorite grocery store. Its small but has everything I need. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

Ive been shopping here for 5 years and love this store! Everyone who works at this store is incredibly friendly and helpful.Shopping here a far more pleasant experience than the utter chaos that seems to be always happening at King Soopers. Safeway is always more calm and relaxed. I have serious anxiety issues, and its never been triggered by a trip to Safeway (unlike KS).A lot of people think the prices are higher than King Soopers or Wal-Mart, which they are if you dont have the club card or use the app. The trick is to not only get a club card, but to use the app before shopping to clip all the digital coupons you might need. They have both store coupons and manufacturer coupons, and if a product has one of each, you get both. I save a good 20% every week by using the app. The gas rewards add up pretty quickly, and sometimes theres a special deal you have to select on the app where you get a bunch of extra points. This location doesnt have a fuel station, but plenty of other locations do, so I save a good bit of money there as well.

I want to like this place because it’s close to my house but they are consistently out of so many things. And it wasn’t just a virus they just can’t seem to stock stuff. I just went in there for what I swear will be the last time and all of the cold cases were empty. None of the meat no cheese no nothing. They said they had a power outage and had to pull everything out. Fine but where does that leave me? It leaves me going up the street to King Soopers which is what I should’ve done in the first place

This is the most disgusting Safeway store Ive ever been in. Not only does it reek every time I walk in (it literally has never not stunk), but I periodically see bugs in this store and it is extremely dirty. When I visited last week, there was a dead hornet in the cheese section.Today, when I visited, there was a live spider crawling around the deli window. Today, my visit was made worse by the shelves of almost all the produce and all the refrigerated items gone. Not sure what was going on; half the frozen sections had lights out and there were dozens of shelves without items on them. Ill never return to this store again.

Love the meat deals. The butcher combines 4 meats into a 20 dollar pack giving you variety and value. Really worth your money.

Good job keeping the store clean. BUT, GLOVES AND MASKS, people. Most shoppers had masks on. No employees wore gloves or masks. Im going to have to shop elsewhere.

My grandkids an I always prefer the donuts at Safeway to kings. Safeway deep fried better than baked. People are friendly. Other things are more pricey than at Kings an they need to make more donuts so that there is more of a selection. Store is clean ,produce is fresh.

This place is great. Honestly, it reminds me of the groceries stores when I was a kid. Well stocked. Great prices. Staff are always very accommodating and nice. Its never too busy. The traffic is steady. Centrally located. Its easy and quick to get to from the North side of Golden. And theres a Starbucks! Also a pharmacy.

I do frequent Safeway occasionally it is never crowded. Pricing is on the high side. Their sale items can be a great deal. Since I live on the North side of golden Safeway is closest to me. 2 miles south is King Soopers if thats your preference.
