Very nice string instrument shop, with very friendly and professional staff.

Bought a used violin and one of the strings had snapped. I brought it to All Strings Attached. The first guy said I needed a new bridge. I questioned him on it because the bridge looked perfect but he couldnt explain why I needed it in a way that I understood. He said hed get a second opinion from the guy in the back. They must not have gotten their stories straight because that guy came out and immediately told me I needed a new tailpiece. I pointed out that the first guy said I needed a bridge - not a tailpiece - and he said Oh yeah, you need a new bridge too. Total cost would be about what I paid for the thing. Seemed pretty fishy so I decided to get a second opinion and took it to Groth and asked their opinion. The first guy said it looked perfect and had no idea what this place was talking about but said maybe hes missing something so also got a second opinion. Same thing - looked perfect. Groth replaced the string, tuned it, played it, and I gave it to my wife a few days later (who knows much more than I do about violins) and she also said it looks perfect. My wife has played it for about 5 years now without issue. Never went back here but remembered I should write a review because I just drove past it. Could be under different management for all I know but Id ALWAYS get a second opinion if theyre telling you you need some unexpected work done.

We have had such great service from All Strings Attached. Not only have they serviced our rentals and even replaced a destroyed cello when our daughter was in elementary school, but the equity we built in our instruments allowed us to purchase them. Now our kids have instruments to continue to play all their lives.

All Strings Attached has supported the two bass players in our family from beginners to accomplished musicians. Over the past 13+ years their level of service and attention to our needs has been exceptional. Their connections with the local music scene is equally impressive. From helping us select a beginner bass and trading up as abilities matured, to helping us find the perfect quiver elsewhere as they were currently out of stock they have always put our needs and interests first and have earned our trust and loyalty.

I am a professional musician and purchased an excellent modern European violin from All Strings Attached. I have played many more expensive antique instruments and find that my modern violin measures up very well while costing much less. I would recommend this shop to any level of string player, as they offer good service, excellent instrument quality, and phenomenal value. I have also purchased strings and accessories from them and have always been very pleased.

Great service. Amazing people. Cost seems somewhat high. But for an inexperienced buyer like myself, they are very helpful in explaining and answer a lot of questions. Solid guarantee in service and quality are a plus.

I stopped in today to get my viola case fixed. The All Strings team was quick, pleasant, and did a wonderful job of resolving the issue with my case. This is just another example of the wonderful years of business I have had from them. To being kind and helpful when I was just starting out, to giving me as much time and space to test many instruments as I needed when I finally purchased both my violin, and viola from them. I had never been here before. Never heard of the place. I needed guitar strings, and with the name of the business being All Strings Attached.... I headed over. I spent some time in the lobby. Loads of basses and violins practically wall to wall. Two other customers were there for bass repairs. Both broken bridges... the staff seemed helpful and knowledgable enough to do a good job, but I didnt have a broken bass, I needed guitar strings... which they dont carry. If I knew someone with a broken bass bridge, Id suggest this place, but it should be called Some Strings Attached...

I had very mixed experiences with All Strings Attached and generally dreaded my stops into the store. We rented my sons violin from here for 4 years. I found some staff to be extremely welcoming and friendly, and others very socially awkward and challenging to communicate with. Overall customer service is so-so and I am sure there are more all-around accommodating, inspiring places to rent or purchase from in the Twin Cities. Once I researched pricing, I discovered the rental pricing is high compared to other places. We spent a total of $1,341 for four years of renting, received $400 in equity, and ultimately decided not to buy a violin because we are now living out of state and my son isnt ready for a full-size violin.

Im so happy I found this shop! I was given the gift of cello lessons from my husband but people kept falling through and I wasnt having any luck finding a cello teacher.I called All Strings, they listened to what I was looking for and put me in touch with a wonderful cello teacher (who I now work with). I came to the shop with my kids to rent a cello and the Staff were wonderful.They had crayons and paper ready for my 3 and 4 year old boys when I got there to keep them occupied. They were very knowledgable, patient, and answered all my questions. Its a local family owned business and you can tell how much passion they have for what they do. Highly recommended!!

The owners and staff are courteous and very helpful with all of your string instrument needs. They are a great resource for beginning orchestra students, offering a good rental program. I recommend visiting their stores for purchasing Suzuki materials and basic technique books, and getting set up with their rental program.Tell them Erika sent you!

Terrible customer service, I am not sure why the schools go through them. Never calls back only thing they are good at is taking the rental payment. Go somewhere else!!!!!
