Produce is always great and fresh, meats are always a great selection. Unfortunately, the prices are going up because of the pandemic. But all and all great supermarket.

MB is a treasure. Its a beautiful store. Top Maintained and mostly all pleasant staff and willing to help you. Good @ restocking Items in timely manner. Super clean not smelly like others I have been to. Gloucester Staff are smart and courteous 🙂

Always look forward to Market Basket when we come to New England. A corporation that actually cares about its employees. We need more of them. Amazon could take lessons from them! Needless to say I love the place.

Good selection and prices lower than we have at home.

You can get whole live lobsters at a reasonable price and the cook them for you while you wait.

The romaine lettuce is always wilted and old looking. I cant believe they put it out for sale. Otherwise everything is great.

In my opinion, best grocery store in town. Has a great selection of items, and the prices are by far the best. In many cases, every day prices are nearly 50% if not more, cheaper than most any place in town. Staff is friendly and they always get you through checkout quickly. Best yet, the staff have been well trained on service dog etiquette which is extremely appreciated!

Lowest prices for staple items, but seems to have an antiquated process or systems for inventory management. Too often, items that I buy on a regular basis are temporarily out of stock. I realize that the pandemic and its effect on supply chains is a factor, but this was the case even before the pandemic hit.

I enjoy shopping at Market Basket. The employees are polite and friendly. I have often gone down an aisle where two or more are stocking shelves and they are singing along with the music 🎶 playing. If I need something that I can not find, theyve always been more than happy to check in the store room for it. Its the best!

People are helpful and friendly. May not have all the brands you might want but they have the products for a lower cost than other supermarkets

My family and I have never been to a Market Basket before. We were on vacation in Gloucester. We were extremely impressed and pleased with everything, but especially their prepared foods. The variety was unprecedented for a grocery chain. We will be back all week!!

Still the best stocked supermarket in Gloucester. The downside is that it is the busiest as well. So if there is something you must have and can deal with the crowd then go for it. If you prefer something a little less hectic try one of the others. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful.

Well.... they had the Seaweed Snacks that were requested by my son... so that was a plus! And they were in the strangest place,but, the customer service girl knew exactly what and where they were, which I find all the MB employees to be consistently good at. And if they dont know, they will find it with you! Great customer service and always appreciate the prices!

Grocery stores are always crazy but this market basket always seems like the flow of shoppers are courteous so it makes for a better shopping experience...the only thing wrong is the price of meat has sky rocketed soon the whole world will be vegetarians. The cashiers the deli the stockers there all kind people all willing to help or answer your questions!!! 4 stars because of the price of meat. Meat is a big issue in the world we live in!!!

One of the better large supermarkets on Cape Ann. Conveniently located next to many other popular retail outlets in Gloucester Crossing.

Great grocery under the windmills! Very clean, clear one way aisle signs, they have everything you need. I found out they also do delivery!

Love their fresh salads, fish counter, cheeses, and produce. Some great deals on day old bakery and produce and complimentary coffee while you shop. Terrific local store.

Beware - prices dont always ring up accurately and under Massachusetts law, consumer is allowed 1 free item per pricing error, but they only correct the price, unless you complain at the service desk. Good produce, frozen organic now available. Quality baked goods.

Fantastic grocery store, full of all sorts of groceries. Best prices in town. Shop here, unless being around other humans triggers your anxiety, then go spend more money elsewhere.

Im not from this area, but have relatives in town so I visit often. Compared to most supermarkets I think one is average. However, compared to the others Ive been to in Gloucester this is like a luxury store. Its a good size store and it looks like it can serve most needs.

Market Baskets never disappoint. Good prices, especially in their own brand items. I always go there for their toilet paper, which is the old fashioned WIDE kind ;) and end up getting a ton of other stuff. Veggies really good for a supermarket. Half and half ... $1.19 for a pint is pretty unbeatable anywhere.

Its hard to get excited about a grocery store, but as far as they go, this is a great one! Were lucky to have it here on the Island. Its easy to see why the workers struck in unison for the founder. Besides the prices, I love the fact that they put plenty of boxes at the front of the store for customers to take.

The Basket never disappoints,always have what I came for. Most of the employees are sweethearts but a few are just plain RUDE. I didnt want to take away stars for the rudeness of others. Great place : )

Normally the staff is great but this one kid named Josh who was backing to busy picking at his nails staring off into space the customer the poor cashier had to bag the groceries that a new clerk came over and made a comment at the cashier was running slow on the transaction well when the cashier is doing the two peoples jobs instead of one what do you expect that bagger seriously needs a retraining course or a new job

This supermarket is excellent. Friendly, helpful employees, lots of options and prices are significantly better than at any other supermarket in our area. It came along when all costs of living started to climb and kept their prices low and so helped many families in our area. Market basket is our supermarket for ever!

Great little store, my friends family used to own it. Great place to get things you need without having to drive for many miles. Luv it.

MB is my favorite market!

The store is in a strategically-located area in need of a good Super Market that services the needs of the community.

So grateful to have a Market Basket nearby to save big money on groceries. Not kidding that if I get same items at Shaws, my grocery bill is at least 20% more. The only reason that this Market Basket does not get a 5 star rating from me is that I cannot get some items there, and need to go elsewhere, for example, canned fruit that does not have sugar added, certain soups, and certain brand of non dairy cheese, snap peas that are from the US, and certain brands of bread.

I love shopping at Market Basket, and I miss it ever time i shop at other super markets in Virgina (where i now live). The produce is fresh, the prices are good, and the selection is great. They also have a good deli counter.

Could not live without this store! In a city where the other stores over charge you for every thing Market Basket is a real godsend. fresh food and high turn over make every thing in this store worth the trip. added note they make the beast subs in town! really.

Pros: Great Prices, big store setup to offer a good selection, and its a nice clean store.Cons: Poor inventory management - Frequently out of items, so they put whatever else they have in place of the item thats normally supposed to be in that spot. Young staff frequently loud, obnoxious behavior.

Mad house in Gloucester, staff was fine but more than a few people were rude crash into you at times leave cart in middle of aisle and go for a walk hunting other stuff. A discount grocer have to be careful some produce dont last and have gotten some cheese and the day after bought was almost completely green

A market basket with clean floor, courteous staff and nice crowd. Except the premium strawberry we picked up is half rotten. That part of the service is sub-par with no one checking or caring. its a grocery store after all.

Good general purpose supermarket. Plenty of parking. Better than average checkout time. Reasonably good selection of groceries and household provisions without the cavernous size of a Wegmans. Fresh produce including some organic options. Their prepared foods look pretty good but I like their sushi for a quick and easy meal. Cant vouch for other fish monger or butcher offerings.Star/Shaws (either location) and Stop and Shop are fine if theyre convenient for you but Id go out of my way to shop at Market Basket, at least in part because of their history of employee loyalty and clout.

Great prices. Love their live lobsters, freshly steamed for free. Need to come early before gone for the day.

Prices are consistently good. Sales are better.General Manager Mr. Sawchuk is available on the sales floor a lot of the time. Meat manager Alex always seems to be in good spirits, answers many questions and handles requests with a small. Bakery, Deli and Prepared food folks have always been considerate when I have aske for assistance. Front end folks are usually very helpful and efficient. And compared to other stores in Gloucester enough help to handle the business. Ever now and then a product is not available, but not many and not often. All in all a very pleasurable experience.

Least expensive and courteous workers. Would have given 5 stars but its always crowded. However, I can see why people flock there.
