Exceptional in store customer service. Reccomendatiins were all great! Prices were more than reasonable. She even provided us with a bag as wel went in on a whim and were not prepared to shop.This place carries so much local New England produced fare its mind blowing.Also, the beeswax candles are AMAZING! They burn absolutely perfect with no drips!

Laura put together a picnic basket for my sister and brother-in-laws anniversary. This was a surprise gift that she delivered to their hotel. We arranged this over the phone, and her helpfulness included working out a detailed menu with me and then going around to local shops to get little items that she didnt stock in the Cave--from a local artists greeting card to Italian salads and fresh berries. The basket was beautiful, the food delicious--even the hotel staff were raving about it. It was joy to do business with her.

You cannot beat the service and great variety of cheese, coffee, crackers, chocolate, wine... and fresh ricotta!! So awesome 😎!! Owner is one of a kind!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The woman’s attitude on the phone was not worth anything! I have never heard someone sound so miserable just because I had asked a few questions about the wine selection!! she told me I was wasting her time and she had other customers to serve. A beautiful Old World shop. I will not forget it. Excellent inventory. You will find that gift that you need and you will want to eat everything in the place. (I do not have an eating disorder, just saying)A very lovely man waited on me. I wish he was part of my family.I was there to buy non perishables for a plane trip. Most definitely going back for the cheese and whatever else.

She is open for business by appointment only; although I couldn’t tell for how long she will keep that policy. For those of you out of town like me, you’ll need to know this. I just showed up after driving several hours to Gloucester. Thus, I wasn’t able to shop there.

The owner is very very nice. Lovely local spot selling wine, cheese, chocolate, olive oils and other imported goodies. Lots of great baskets, cutting boards, rolling pins, crackers, spices, and other cooking supplies. Small section with local candles and soaps too. Everything theyve recommended to me (cheese and wine) has been delicious. Good prices on wine too. It looks like it would be an expensive place, but its pretty reasonable. Personal favorites are the bags of salted marcona almonds and the local jelly beans.

This is a gem yo find in Gloucester. Me and my love spent 2 weeks enjoying the goodies from this place. Will always go back here. The shop owner was a very nice lady and knowledgeable of her selection.

The Cave is the best place I know of where a world of cheese, chocolate, wine and sausage awaits those who venture inside.There are many items to choose both for preparing and serving of food and gifts for others including many unique items.Im amazed at the variety of international cheeses and wine pairings the proprietress is knowledgeable about. She takes the time to explain, offers samples and engages with the customer.Why go to the supermarket when The Cave in Gloucester offers such a nice experience?

LOVE LOVE LOVE!The buffalo blue cheese spread is an absolute must in addition to an amazing assortment of delicious cheeses and great wine selection. Couldnt ask for a friendlier owner and I visit every time Im in town!

I wish I could give this store a zero. When I walked in the lady was rude and immediately yelled at me for having an empty cup in my hand saying, I dont allow cups in here. I then had to walk down the street to the nearest trash can to throw my cup out, just to find out that she had a recycling in her store where I could have put my plastic cup. The woman was so dismissive and she hurt my feelings when I just wanted to see what she had in her store.

Laura Cramer has excellent taste in wine (and in general!), unlike going to a regular packy, Laura takes the time to find out your wine preference and makes recommendations that are right on. I always make sure to take stop in once or twice a month, cant wait until April 1st when the wine will be back!

This is an amazing cheese and chocolate shop and my parents love this wine that they sell there however their hours are awful and its so hard to go there
