This comic book store is awesome! It has an Arcade,POKE’MON and YU-GI-OH. Game tournaments. Board Games,Pinball, Toys, and so many comics to choose from at low prices! Great Customer Service! Nice, friendly, and helpful staff! Great place for kids and teenagers.

JJs is your one stop shop of cards, comics, and games. Store features a wide selection of classic and contemporary comics, an arcade, weekly events and tournaments in various games. JJs has been my go to spot for Yu-Gi-Oh! and other cards for a long while.

Well I was pretty excited to check this place out saw it had pretty high reviews... when I came in wasnt greeted and felt uncomfortable stares... I was walking around back and forth trying to understand product and find where things were... wasnt assisted or directed or greeted... finally decided to ask the gentlemen at the desk if there were cards to sell which he said he didnt ( thats ok I understand) and simply continues doing what hes doing on the computer... than I asked if he ever will get any in he said maybe tomorrow idk... felt kinda strange I was interested in purchasing a product from his store and he had 0 desire or interest to speak with me... I ask him which sleeves were for yugioh and he cut me off before I could speak and said theres no yugioh product... to which I replied not even sleeves... he tells me oh sure Matt or gloss... now im new to all this so I asked whats the difference he told me preference... I asked which he preferred or was popular he told me both of them... idk maybe Im crazy but I felt like this place didnt want to have anything to do with me... I give a 2 because he didnt sound rude he sounded relatively polite but as if I was inconveniently distracting him from whatever it is he was doing.... not a good first experience with a cars shop and ill never go back

The comic book store was good. I just wish there was a wider array of new publishers. The arcade next door, Ready Player One, was AMAZING!!! 50 cent pinball and 25 cent arcade cabinets. A great selection of machines!!

Brought my kids its summer school they were really excited to play in the arcade and 3/4 of it its only open to play games so we went to go see and try to buy some Pokémon cards for them the guy David said only in the weekends the all the games are turned on and to look at the folders for cards is at 3pm wow really experience here poor kids saved up to play and buy some Pokémon card and they thats not right. No I didnt reclined the offer and I also asked if they can turned on some games we can play the guy David said NO just whats on please dont go there I just wanted my kids to have fun they saved there money but whatever it is what it is

Neat little store attached to an old style video game arcade. The owner is super nice. The prices vary and run a little high on things, but they usually have what Im looking for.

Very fun for all ages, comics display great a lil confusion on where the new ones are located. The arcades full of school games is nostalgia heaven. Would do 5stars but thats reserved for my comic store

I love this place! The shop owner is so chill and nice and very knowledgeable and willing to help, same goes for the rest of the staff. Huge collection of all things nerdy and they regularly hold events for those card players. They also have reward points to get money off once you accumulate enough. Just a chill and fun place to go to overall.

JJC has a ton of back issue comics in their dollar and two dollar bins. Ive been able to fill a lot of my missing issues for great prices. Plus, the inventory is in really good condition for those prices.They are strictly a back issue seller. You wont find your new titles here. Unless it is of the rare variant variety.They also host gaming here, such as Pokémon, and half the store has old arcade games. But the arcade has been off limits due to Covid, I think.

This was probably the coolest comic book store I have been too. My brother in law had been looking for 3 comic books from the 90s that are not easy to find for a couple years. We came here and found all 3. I would highly recommend you come here, and I will be returning frequently!

My kids are starting to get into Pokémon cards, I came here so they could pick out some cards. We ended up leaving with 264 cards. Will definitely be back to get more.

Love this place!! So many great comics and the owner is super chill. My friends and I came in around 10 minutes till closing and he was nonchalant about it. They are in the process of renovating but theres tons of comics to browse through that I barely even cared.

Best comic book place by far. And you can also join his lives and get comics that way.

Dont pull up if you want disappointment, not even having on their site saying they close. FANTASTIC Comic Store! Best Comic place in the state hands down. Great owner. Treats you like family, is always leading a hand, genuinely cares about you and holds meaningful conversations with you. I’ve never walked in and not had a conversation with Jesse or any of his staff. Entire staff is super friendly. Store itself is very large and organized. Would recommend to anyone regardless of where you live. Buy from him!

Disappointed in their practices regarding Bad Idea comics

I was searching for sleeves for my YU-GI-OH card collection from childhood to resell on EBay. I couldn’t find them anywhere (in person not online) after searching many major retailers I was directed to this place. Very nice shop! The gentleman was very professional and helpful and I got my card sleeves ! Time to list and resell my collection!

This place has lots of comics and a fair amount of cards however, the downfall is terrible customer service in particular the guy that works the card counter. My girlfriend and I have been here twice and both times were less that pleasing experiences the second time we went my girlfriend asked if I would just do the talking because of the poor service. I really wish it was a more pleasurable experience because the inventory is pretty decent and prices arent to bad.

Been coming to Jesse James since before they moved to 51st from 43rd ave and had them previously marked as a 5 star. Today I was rudely kicked out of an area of the store, I saw a comic on display that caught my eye when a worker came over to kick me out of the area, I tried to ask about the comic but was cut off multiple times to be told to get out. Once I stepped the two feet away from the rope he finally told me there is a completely other store in the store now and all those comics are sold by that store. I tried to ask more about the comic and was referred to the note on a rope that said they were closed before he walked away.

This is a great shop. Jesse is friendly and helpful. He remembers peoples names and thats a big deal to me. I recommend this place to everybody.

Too many comics unsorted ,but great deals. They have an old school video arcade. You need to spend at least an hour there.

Has all you need and more. If you cant find it on the shelves, the fine staff will absolutely search high and low for your needed book. As a long time reader and collector, I brought my daughter in for her first comic book store experience and she had a great time! The staff even guided her towards books she would enjoy to begin her collection.Free board and bag and an awesome rewards system will have us coming back regularly for our comic book fix.

Coffee and Comics in the corner of the store often has new releases Im looking for and old Archie comics. When shes not in though, which is often, I dont find much in the rest of the store. Nice environment, seems like a chill place to hang out and play cards which I often see people doing.

I stopped by yesterday while my wife went to the store next door. I can understand why people love comics so much now. I bought my first issue of spawn and Ill be returning today to buy more. The only complaint I have is the staff. They wernt very talkative. Especially to a new customer thats asking for help getting into comics. I didnt even know where to begin. Im going to give it another try today. Hoping it goes better.

A wide variety of comics are available to look at and buy. Probably one of the better comic stores that I have been to with a get together area for you to read and socialize, and a coffee and comic area coming soon. Overall a great location.

My girlfriend and I spent hours looking through back issues (she didnt want to leave!) I got a handful of silver age Thor books for $2 each! They have tons of new stuff all over the store--which was great because I got some additions to my Rick and Morty collection. The owner even came out to meet with us and signed our copy of Bobs Burgers (that had a variant cover featuring his staff from the store!!) Ive been to comic book stores all over NA and Europe and, IMO, this one is the best and coolest one Ive seen.

Best place to get your comics! The employees and owner are awesome people, super helpful and nice. I can usually always find the comics I’m looking for at this place, and if they don’t have something they will order it for you in a timely fashion.

I went on Labor day weekend. There was an Awesome sale there. I was happily shocked that they stay open until 12 midnight. Wow ! I can go buy comic books anytime. And they play card games, Magic I think. And they have movies and games.... tons of nerdy fun.

Best comic shop in Phoenix. They have snacks and drinks for card gamers! They now have installed a pinball arcade in the back which is great for the nostalgia. Lots of events and tournaments for card games too. They also, of course have tons of comics to choose from. Never been disappointed with JJs!! Its always a pleasure

If youre a card playing geek, this is the place to be. They have tournaments each Friday and if you go get there early to get a seat. Lots of comics and other fun stuff for purchase. Check it out.

Amazing place I go once a week. Great fill up a short box for $40 deal they have. Also a long box for $80. You cant beat that. The customer service is always there when needed.

Love this comic book shop. If I ever moved I would still order from here somehow. They know me after buy power rangers after only a couple months back when power rangers comic started. They are great people to talk to and is great with the community.

I go here every week to play Dnd with my friends. Its very comfortable and clean. They sell concessions there for good prices and make it feel at home. This shop is intense. The pictures online do not do it justice. Jesse James has a monster selection of comics here. The store is set up great and has a good flow to draw you through. And AZEventureCon is a really cool concept and event.

Big shop with lots to look at. Tons of boxes you can spend all day sifting through. Staff tend to not be very interactive if you are not a regular but in no way do I mean to imply rudeness. Its more like they respect that you will likely want to come in and look around. If you have questions, I have never had a problem walking up and asking.

I asked them on their facebook profile if they had any venom comics in their dollar boxes (since I had seen it recently before with other shops in AZ) and they wrote back LOL. Isnt the point of a comic shop to want to bring customers into the store? Some bedside manner or simply not saying it the way that they did wouldve sufficed. Will not be coming in anytime soon for sure.

The one guy working was nice and helpful, but that doesnt really make up for the convoluted organization of the place. I think things are sorted by publishing company, but you could have fooled me - the set up is almost chaotic. Nothing is bagged and boarded until you purchase something, which honestly makes me less inclined to buy, considering Im not a fan of wrinkled comics.

We love this store and feel good when we spend money here because we like the owners and love the environment inside. We play Pokemon and sometimes yugioh we will spread the good word about this place.

Comic book selection was huge. I went In for the card portion though and there was noone there that could help me. The guy there said it was dark on monday for the people who run that side. My frustration is that I didnt see that information on their website anywhere. I dont live close to here so for people like me going out of their way, thats important Information to make us aware of before we make the drive.
