I went to get an oil change Saturday, October 16th around 9:30AM and picked it up around 4:30PM that day.It started with the guy at the help desk (I heard someone call him Brandon, but didnt see his name tag or ask his name myself) lying to my face telling me that my car requires full synthetic oil and completely refusing to sell me anything else. Despite the fact that it has never had synthetic oil in it the entire life of the vehicle. On top of that, Ive only purchased conventional oil for both mine and my wifes cars at this specific location for more than two years. I understand synthetic is higher quality, but I typically only drive this vehicle 100 miles a week. The more expensive oil will not make a difference for that. Later when I was called and told it was finished, I was also informed I needed new brakes and told me that it would be the insane price of $400+. They also somehow missed that one of my brake lights was out, which I only found out later when my wife was driving behind me.The next day (Sunday, October 17th) I drove 24 miles to my parents home to change my brakes/brake lights with my father (costing only $60, not that asinine $400), and only upon arriving found that I had been leaking oil the entire time and saw that it was coming directly from the oil filter. I had to go out of my way to purchase extra oil to add in on the 24 mile drive back home just to ensure I wouldnt blow the engine. This is also the second time this has happened to us; about two years ago they didnt tighten the oil filter on my wifes vehicle and it was leaking out then too.I called the next day when they were open (Monday, October 18th) in the afternoon at approximately 2:15 PM to ask them about it and was told to bring it in around 3:30-4:00 and that it would probably take about thirty minutes. I arrived at 4:04 PM and left at 5:39 PM all the while the unmasked help desk guy was occasionally coughing and talking to his coworker about how he hadnt been feeling well for several days.Their final explanation was that the oil cap itself was faulty and that nobody noticed when they were performing the oil change. After that explanation they brought me a new cap and my old one to show me the difference. But they couldnt even find where they claimed the leak was coming from to show me. To me both caps honestly looked the same excepting the old one was coated in oil.The only reason Im giving a 2/5 instead of 1/5 for this visit is because they didnt try to charge me for the oil cap, which I assume wouldve been priced at least around $30-$50.

I took my Tahoe here after having taken it to another auto repair shop that had quoted me which I thought was way too high. At Sun Devil Auto I got the same inspection but was given a way better quote for what needed to be repaired. They were quick, very kind and most helpful. They got my oil changed at the time of my inspection and told me to drop it off in the morning so they could fix my problem. Within a couple of hours I got a phone call telling Ng me to come pick it up. It was y believable how fast they did it. They are so amazing. I live this place and will only take my vehicles to Sun Devil Auto from now on. Honest trust worthy people. I am so happy with the outcome. Thank you Sun Devil Auto.

As I was shopping at Home Depot I left and mytruck wouldnt start. My only option was to walk over to sun devil for help. They w no hesitation the gentelman stoped one of there workers to walk over w a jumper pack to get my truck running. I drive it over had them test the battery... Did it in a timely manner . And did not rip me off because they did not even ask me for $1 yes thats right they charged me nothing to test my battery charge my battery and test my alternator and tell me everything is perfectly fine it must have just been a fluke thing.

Clean waiting area and clean restroom.They have multiple bays and can usually get you in and out on regular service work. I have had both of my vehicles in for service. Tried to make appointment for oil change, they said no need for an appointment, just show up and it will only take 1 hour. Of course I get there and they say it will take longer than that cuz they’re backed up…ok things happen but why not make appointments?? I couldn’t stay that long cuz I had somewhere to be by the time they would’ve been done. Very inconvenient for customers I won’t be returning here!

Sun devil used to be my shop of choice until I used this location. Not only did I get ripped off on price, it took 2 hours to get an oil change with an appointment and even though I specifically asked the guy to call me when it was done so I wasnt just roaming around he completely ignored me and the car was sitting in the lot waiting for me. Thanks for the call buddy. It will be the last time I ever use sun devil at any location.

Always great service. I called one day in advance and got me in the very next morning. Service is always great and speedy. They also gave me advice on my services needed in the future in order to keep running my car tip top.

This is just my initial review of this location as the repair work has not been done yet but is scheduled for Monday. I dropped off my truck and was greeted by a very friendly technician name Shane. He was straightforward and honest about what he thought the problem was and what the work to further diagnose it will be I appreciated his upbeat attitude and friendly demeanor I will update this post accordingly after I get my truck back next week.

Saw an ad for brake work and went to see what they said. The price was more than twice the ad. I had it done elsewhere for less than their ad price.Reply to your reply. I went to two other major shops and your price was more than either of them.

I’ve been coming here for years now but was not happy with my last experience. I went for an oil change and tire rotation. I let them know my air pressure was low on one tire to which they said they would check. When I picked up my car, the pressure light was still on. When I asked about it I was told that you have to drive about 15 miles for it to reset... seems odd but ok. After driving 2 days the light is still on. I filled the tire myself and funny thing the light went off immediately. I don’t appreciate being misled, if you forgot to check it, just say so! I don’t have time to waste going back a second time!

My truck broke down in Wickenburg of all places. I called Chris at Sun Devil Automotive and without hesitation he assured me that he would have me towed in to the shop in Glendale. Not only was the tow truck on time but the repair on my truck was ready to be done on the same day as well. My service was quick, professional and affordable. Hour and a half for a oil change and I had an appointment

I got a flat tire on Bell Rd right after going through a light at a major intersection. Fortunately I was close to Sun Devil Auto. I asked if they could help me & they said they would. I went into their clean & very cool waiting room while they put my spare tire on my Jeep. They were done in record time & I only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. When I asked how much I owed them, I was pleasantly surprised when I was told there was NO CHARGE! I live in Waddell but I will probably drive all the way over to this auto service center the next time I need work done on my Jeep.

The guy in the front was super awesome, not only I got my oil change in the car, but they did the tire rotation too, no extra charge.

I went in for a free brake inspection and they told me my issue was my rear rotors, so I bought some to do the work myself and when I took off the tire, my guide pins to my calibers were missing and loose. One was completely gone and the other was completely loose. Either they didnt mention anything about it or purposely removed them.

I went into this Sun Devil Auto location over the last couple weeks on two seperate repairs. First time I was having issues with my battery charging and I had recently purchased the vehicle so I wanted them to generally check out the vehicle along with the battery issue. They told me that the alternator was bad and recommended replacing that. They also recommended new brake rotors, brake caliper and engine mounts. Picked my car up everything seemed fine. Then a few weeks later Im having trouble le starting my car again. I decide to take the car back to have them figure out the issue and possibly do whatever brake work was needed. I was quoted about $600 for the brake work preivously. This time as I drop off the associate who did not wear a mask by the way noted that the repair was now $1000. I said that I was quoted $600 last time so he agrees to look have the tech look at the brakes before any work. I later get a call stating that my starter motor has gone out and that no brakes work is needed. The starter motor would cost 280 for the part and 80 for labor. They also recommended I replace my struts which they did not mention the first time. I dont know how I went from needing hundreds of dollars in brake work to none? If there were problems before they didnt just disappear. When I go to pick up my vehicle the same maskless employee hands me a bill for about $550. Which is more than the $360 I was quoted over the phone. They added an inspection fee of over $100 and charged more for the engine motor part over what we agreed. If they had been honest and upfront about these charges I would have had no problem. However they were not. They were purposely deceitful and cannot give accurate assessments of vehicle repair. This is not a place that you trust for an honest assessment or honesty in their billing. I would not recommend this place to anyone for service.

They were able to identify a major problem with my vehicle within a day, I had my vehicle in different shops for weeks at a time while they couldn’t figure out the issue. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone who has a sour taste from other mechanics.

I brought my car here and they told me I needed my idler pulley and serpentine belt replaced. They were charging me over $750. I so stressed out. I took it a mechanic shop and they charged me $400 to replace it. Go somewhere else tbh

New to the area and was looking for a good neighborhood mechanic. Also was in the need for an oil change and didnt want to go to a Fast oil change place due to some issues I have had in the past...so Found a great, Family owned, local shop which I like! Found them to be very nice, quick and good prices! its nice to have a local place you can trust and the staff were very nice and helpful! One down...just need a lawyer and a Plumber and I am set!! Ive been going to Sun Devil Auto on 67th Ave. and Bell Rd. location for about 5 years now. My experience here has been the best out of all of the car repair places Ive visited. Josh the manager is very cordial and professional as well as helpful and attentive to my needs and budget. Scott works on my truck when I bring it in and is very familiar with it and knows exactly how to pinpoint the problem and how to get it resolved. Hes also a very nice guy. I would highly recommend this location to anyone that has a car with a problem that needs to be fixed.

Pros:-$25 oil change with 52-point inspection. In and out in an hour is their rule.-Front office guys are pretty good (I dealt with Chris and Josh, and they handled things pretty well). I can’t say for sure about the service techs, but I haven’t had any problems with faulty services.-When they make mistakes, they are willing to own them, and make up for them.Cons:-They mark up the price of parts, from what I can tell (but who doesn’t?)-I had parts coming in for my service that weren’t there on the day of my services. It would have been no mice to know they weren’t there yet, because the parts never showed up that day. They can’t control FedEx, but they could let you know ahead of time that the parts aren’t there so you can reschedule. Seems to have been a miscommunication, whoever took my call had me down for an oil change service, so maybe they just didn’t realize they were doing a different service for me that day.-The first oil change I did took longer than expected (didn’t get my car in until 45 minutes after my appointment, and even then it was only because I asked) but they were gracious and gave me a free next oil change. The next oil change took 30 minutes total.

Brake job, ryan was the man. Got me done and out in the matter of a few hrs and changed the oil and rotated the tires.Exceptional work!

Very unprofessional, I called yesterday about a transmission issue on 2012 Chevy equinox , I was told by a Sean to bring it in, once we find the issue well call and discuss what repairs were needed, so I bring it in and they want to charge me 115 just to tell me whats wrong but you told me once you find the problem then there is a charge for the work youll do on that problem classic bait and switch, run they are crooks, we already have enough liars running the country we dont need any more. Roberto went out of his way to help my wife move he car that had stalled in the middle of Bell Road and he refused to take a tip for helping . She had the car towed to the shop that he worked . I was at work in Tempe so it took me about 40 minutes to get there ,I had them take a look at it ,they found a loose battery cable but could not find anything wrong .I appreciate everything that they did to help us get back on the road .

Okay, I cannot give Sun Devil Auto on Bell Rd in Glendale enough “stars”!! I’ve been a happy customer of theirs for 3 1/2 years after moving to AZ from Cleveland... My 2001 Jetta has always had the best of care, from the knowledgeable service advisors to the amazing mechanics that have treated her with utmost TLC! From simple yet complete oil changes, brakes, exhaust system....too many other repairs done with such expertise! Unprofessional and doesn’t have a bit of courtesy. Booked an appointment for windshield repair on Friday for Tuesday through insurance. Insurance said they would give us call prior to the service. Didn’t get a call till Tuesday noon, so I called them and they said I can bring the car anytime before closing. We asked for an appointment and they insisted on walk in. We arrived around 4.30 pm. They said can not do the job today since the guy who does the repair has to leave by 5pm? What??? Is this the way you do business? THen why didn’t you give me an appointment when I called earlier in the day? Is it that my problem oNly one of your guys knows to fix the windshield? Will never bring my vehicle again here again trusting this unprofessional business.

Great, friendly service! I took my car in for an oil change and asked if they could look into the rattle that was towards the back end. Oil change went smoothly and the tech said I had 2 loose bolts on the shocks. He told me that it was no extra charge for tightening the bolts. They always have gone above and beyond in service! I wont go anywhere else for my car repairs/maintenance.

I took a recently purchased vehicle in for some repairs and was not for sure what all it needed. I dont remember the service writers name that helped me but he was very helpful and went above and beyond. There were things I thought needed to be repaired or replaced and things I was not aware of that needed to be repaired or replaced. The service writer kept me well advised of everything that was going on and what needed to be repaired and what did not or could wait. They fixed everything I could afford to have fixed at the time and we made a plan to get to some of the other things fixed as I could afford to get them done. They were honest and up front charged me a very fair price for the repairs they completed. I will be taking my vehicles here for all of my future automotive repair needs.

I dont trust these people. Tire rotation was supposed to be part of the service and they didnt rotate my tires at 2 5,000 mile services, so my front tires wore out prematurely. Also, took our company van there just the other day and now we have stalling out and check engine light issues. Never going back there.

I Am going thru so much an they allowed me to be on top of my cars issues by rotating, oil change, and air and were nice enough to discount my service due to my circumstances

Worst experience Ive had at Sun Devil. They told me 45 minutes for oil change and transmission fluid replacement. 1.5 hours later, I ask for an update and they tell me they had to redo the transmission fluid. The Store Manager (Josh Wahl) has no concept of customer service or any obligation to perhaps keep customer informed about why it is taking a longer time than expected. He basically said theyre busy and doesnt think theyre providing bad customer service. He also said I was just sitting in the waiting area and should be the one to come up and ask for updates.Apparently, its my fault that they had to redo the transmission fluid for free and they dont need to keep me in the loop.I will stick to their shop in Scottsdale. Ive never had a problem at that location. This was the second issue Ive had at the 67th and Bell location. Its sad that the chain cant be more consistent. Its also sad that the Store Manager (Josh) doesnt seem to care.

Honestly I always have great service when coming here. Never one bad experience. Can be kind of pricey depending on the service but WELL worth it. Shane (service advisor) is AMAZING. Brings me out to the shop to look at my car so i know whats going on and can actually see it. They have a credit card for payment plans (no interest for 6 mons. I believe). Originally had someone screw up when replacing my fuel pump, advised me when I came in that I needed to go back and get my money back. Remember you pay for what you get!

My wife and I have been dealing with John the manager at Sun Devil Auto on W Bell RD. and I wouldlike to tell everyone what great treatment we received from John and his crew, John went way out of his way to help and please us. it has been years since I have seen this kind of dedication to a business and its customers. Fair and reasonable rates. The staff will take the time to explain everything to you in detail and not pressure you to make a decision on the spot. I had to take my moms Jeep here for some issues it was having. After they gave me a quote they kept the Jeep secured in the shop and gave me a couple days to make a decision to move ahead. A great no pressure shop that does quality work. I have had a number of repairs and maintenance performed on my aging car, and they have kept it running. They also provide some very generous financing plans OAC.

The staff here works hard to get you in and out and soon as possible, no lollygagging! They are also honest with the actual work you need completed on that day, not extra stuff that is not necessary! Was told by another shop that I needed new brakes but Craig said that the brakes still had life in them and it wasnt necessary yet! Thanks for honest and good work! :)

These guys are awesome! I had an annoying hum under the good that I couldnt figure out. As soon as I got it to start, the mechanic reached in and punched a tube and it stopped. He said it was the idle intake reader. I said go ahead and fix it. It runs better now, and sounds better too.

I have to tell you I was in the waiting room while the reviewer Desz listed below with a one star review was there and this guy was way out of line. The guys at Sun Devil were truly taking care of his vehicle and in a timely fashion. He was there for about 45 minutes and all of a sudden got up and started to yell at one of the counter men for no reason. Then the manager came up and tried to rectify the issue however the “Desz” just didn’t want to listen and was being extremely unreasonable. The sun devil employees tried to explain that the oil change service and the other fluid service he was having performed would take about 45 min to an hour per service and all the guy wanted to hear was 45 minutes. Guess what the guy was out of there in and hour and a half exactly what he was told it would take.I had to make this review for two reasons one was because of people like him and the other because the guys at sun devil auto were extremely helpful and fair with me. Both of the service advisors also apologized to me for having to experience the verbal confrontation. Honestly I almost said something then to stick up for the sun devil auto employees but I just stayed out of it.All in all this is my service center and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know.

Oil change for $28! The place was super busy yet they were able to work me in without having had an appointment and then only charged me $28 for the oil change!

Went here for a leak on my car. The tech said it would be $2000-$3000 to fix the leak. Said basically the car wasnt worth the fix. My husband and I decided to repair the leak on our own. $300 and half a day later the leak was fixed. I now daily the car 50+ miles. No leaks. No issues. I dont recommend this shop.

Fast and reliable repairs at an affordable price!! The service managers are consummate professional and kept me posted on their progress and success on the items I was having issues with on both of my cars (fiat 500 and bmw x3).
