Absolutely LOVE this Books-A-Million! The staff are ALWAYS so kind and friendly and helpful and TOLERABLE of my children 😂 The staff actually act like they LIKE seeing my children get excited about books and things! Honestly the books are probably more expensive than youd get online, but its worth it to go in the store and have that book store experience of being able to browse through and find something you think you might like.We will always renew our membership. Thank you Books-A-Million for caring for me and my family so well! 📚

I get an Americana made a few times each week and they are always wonderful. The service is fabulous as well.

They had a lot of books. Maybe not a million.. Seems like false advertising to me. I would think that a million books would cover much more space. I didnt count them all. Made it to 687428 and lost count. So maybe. I dont know. Go there. Buy a book.. Count them for yourself. Fun day.

Staff doesn’t really ask if you need help finding anything, took me about an hour to walk around myself and find the book I was looking for. And was continually pressured (after saying no already) into signing up for a “free” National Geographic subscription for 3 months or so until I later found charges to my card.. now I’m wondering how are they charging my card when I never gave my card information to them??

Always have helpful staff and they have a great clearance section in the back for kids books!! Amazing prices, wayyyyy better than Amazon!

The store was well stocked with books. Not the ones I was looking for but I managed to find some. The section on Art and Photography was not well organized so it took me quite some time to find them. I purchased a Paper bound volume and the corners on the cover were all dogeared slightly. I have volumes that are 20 or more years old that are in better condition. The Information is what I wanted so I took the book. With a little more care the books in this store would all be sold in perfect condition.

Not only do they have a forever improving & rotating selection of all things literary...they also have some of the best coffee to rival any coffee franchise. My favorite thing to do is grab one of the books from their metaphysical section, a coffee, and then sit to read somewhere quiet within the store💛

I was visiting a friend that brought me to this bookstore. I could spend all day there. The selection is great, they have fabulous markdowns and a coffee lounge.

A few months ago I went in to get a few books when I got to the register the lady asked me if I would like a free subscription to a few magazines and if I like the magazines I can go ahead and call them after 30 days or so and sign up for a monthly subscription ok woke up this morning 01/28/21 and my card was charged $15 from Time magazine smh this is unacceptable to me because I never gave them my card number so the fact that the store went a head and gave a third-party Vendor my card number Without my acknowledgment and authorization to do so all I did was purchase a book from them And now they have whoever just dipping into my account taking my money it’s very upsetting to me smh.

Used to love going to BAM. but they have moved everything around. Hard to find what we wanted and no help from the employees. Guess it is a good place to go if you want religious books. Hundreds of them.. Not our thing.

My daughter received a book from a fellow classmate for her birthday. It was not a book my daughter wanted. We returned it to the store that it was purchased from, however with no receipt. The manager was awe full. He would not even provide us store credit. Said I needed all the information, name, address, phone number, etc for me to be able to exchange the book. We go to books-a-million all the time for our books, but not anymore. Horrible, service.

Always a pleasure going to this book store. The staff is always super friendly and the sales that go on are stellar. There’s something different about going into a book store and actually holding a book.

I went in to see if they would have the books I was look for at a cheaper rate than what I found online. Not only were they more expensive but they were almost double the price. The customer service is great but their business practices are super shady, they gave me a card to select which free magazines I wanted to receive in the mail, but if you read the fine print before signing, they actually charge you semi-annually for EVERY magazine you select (upwards of $40 - $50 all together). I probably wont return, getting books online is way less hassle and they wont try to scam you.

Dave went above and beyond to help me out with an order-you all have restored my faith in retail!!! Home away from home! Its affordable and has amazing books and nerdy supplies. I love it so so very much. I like their rustic old journals and bought this one the other day when I went with my Padre

Store has been (or is in the process of being) completely rearranged; not sure Im a fan. Lots of books out of place/hard to find.The four stars are for customer service: Scott was wonderful! He looked up books for me and tried (in vain, as it turned out) to help me find them - even asking someone to look through the shipment they had just gotten!

Good selection, always smells nice because of the coffee shop, and the bathrooms are clean.

No discounts. Pay retail unless you pay 25/year for percents off. Ugh.

Awesome variety of books and magazines. Great for anyone to visit. Interesting ideas and items for teens and children. Nice place to read, relax do homework or research papers. Stop on in. Also try the coffee at Joes Mug located inside this location. They have great service.

Quite a few, but not a million, books. Open warehouse style, had a coffee area I think although none of us drink coffee. Many more books than Barnes and Noble. Fairly big manga section, but the catch is that the titles are hit and miss, both in titles and volumes available: Volume 2,6,7,etc with not always the current one. My son (44), found a lot of the manga he wanted, wife found a bunch of paperbacks too. Basically, better than our local B&N store and worth the 30 minute drive.

I got here only because they are the only physical book store in my area and I have family that likes to read, so I get them gift cards. Their employees are nice BUT they always harass you to donate to all these different charities(I do donate on my own but dont like being pressured to do it in front of strangers nor like the guilt that comes with not being able to do it at the time) not only that but they pressure you to sign up for free magazines and pay for their discount card. People wonder why brick and mortar stores are being closed and books a million is a perfect example of why, harassing your customers to spend more than they had intended and guilting them is bad practice for a business of any kind.

This BAM is awesome! Im glad to see a bookstore still in business. All of the employees are very helpful, and theres a great atmosphere here. I love to come in, get a coffee, and study for a couple of hours

Its a nice place. Was hot. Air conditioner was not working well. Mainly went in to get my grandson a book on the solar system. I found several. But find the kind I was really looking for. Big place.

I will have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much the staff, was willing to help. Even if it meant going out of their way. I was treated very kind, and I really like the store. My only complaint, would be that it is hard for people in wheelchairs to get around. I would like to personally thank the manager David for his willingness to help with a problem. I had from ordering a book on line. Although I was unable to get by there, due to something out of my control. He was great on the phone, and I will definitely be back.

Plenty of seating . lots of side stuff, like quirky pens and notepads. Book totes. Cards. Games. A cute childrens area. And books! Lots of them. And a very affordable clearance area with lots of good stuff.

Whats happened to the worlds bookstores! Never thought BAM would be one of the few standing at the end (Borders, maybe!)... Anyway - this is a good place to browse around for a couple of hours ... good size selection ... I come here with my daughter often and have purchased a lot of books here ... excellent kids section ...employees here are friendly and they leave you alone. Coffee is terrible ... and I dont like the sign up for this, or sign up for that push sale stuff ... so, Ill take a star away for that. Overall good.

BAM Gastonia is my own hideaway. Books, coffee and a very friendly/helpful staff. I cant always find what Im looking for but the employees do their best to assist.

This location has friendly folks and the store is clean. IMO, Books-A-Million operates in the retail world between Barnes & Noble and Borders (RIP) on one end, and local, independent booksellers on the other. Its not particularly visually appealing, but they have books.

I found 2 books I am excited to read.

The service was great and any questions I had were answered.

If Barnes and Nobles or Boarders was like this, they probably would still be around more. This place has a great low key vibe. I love walking over for a coffee and a book on date night after eating at Sakura. They dont even give us a hard time when we bring our daughter who loves playing with some of the toys throughout the store. Its just a fun experience.
