Don’t forget to ask them more about Fabuwood cabinetry, which they expose in every showroom.

We wanted to give our kitchen and family room cabinetry project to a small business, hoping not only to support a small business, but also to get more personal service. The price was also very competitive, living up to the companys name. Unfortunately the quality, and the service we received for our money, suffered as a result.Essentially, as soon as the deposit was charged, we had trouble getting anywhere near the level of service we received during the design phase. We had many issues to resolve, but it took several calls and a couple of weeks for David or Alex to visit the project site to see it. And then, even though they came and measured everything on site, the cabinets that were delivered were still wrong. And this took a lot of time. We were told to call 2 weeks prior the delivery date, so the cabinets could be delivered on time. To our surprise when we made the delivery call, the new delivery date was almost 4 weeks - 2 weeks later than promised! And later, after waiting that 4 weeks, only the kitchen cabinets were delivered, and what was delivered was a mess. Some doors were damaged or missing, shelves were missing, the custom made wine cabinet was a different color!, with wood glue all over it, and not square - just to list a few issues. The double oven cabinet was cut completely wrong, with a hole too small for the oven and shelves preventing a clean installation, even though the oven specs were provided during the design stage. Even the cabinet around the refrigerator was not deep enough – just poor quality all around. From the delivery it took some time (approx.. 2 months in total) to get the cabinets into useable condition, however, it’s a patch up job and not the solid, professional and quality cabinets that we were promised and expected. And the majority of the work had to be done by our contractor, who did his best to make sense of the cabinets and hide as many of the blemishes as he could. Cabinets4Less did not return messages or phone calls during this period, and when they did, it was to tell us that our contractor had to fix Cabinets4Less mess. As for the family room cabinets, upon delivery it was discovered that they were such poor quality they were falling apart while trying to take them out of their boxes! Then, once new pieces were delivered (again) our contractor had to take some of them apart to make them squarely fit into the space (aligning doors and cabinet walls that were not properly assembled by Cabinets4Less). And to our surprise they were 10 inches too short! We had to build an additional level out of pieces that they made us pay for, even though they knew from our original plan that the bookshelves were to go all the way to the ceiling. We spent over $23,000 on the cabinets, put up with months of delay because of Cabinets4Less mistakes, and endured endless frustration and stress. The quality of the cabinets is so poor that touching them the wrong way chips paint off. The shelves and edges of the bookcases already have spots where the paint has chipped off. Throughout the entire process they promised service and an interest in making it right for us, but in the end they could not deliver. Because of the poor quality - over-promising and under-delivering the entire time - we not only paid for the cabinets, but we had to compensate our contractor, who lived up to his word of a quality product, and went the “extra mile” to fix Cabinets4Less mistakes. Even after all this effort, the cabinets look terrible, and Cabinets4Less solution was to call the manufacturer (Cubitac) and we had to deal with that company – even less professional than Cabinets4Less. It’s now been 13 months, and we have piece of garbage product in our house (already once repainted!!!) – save yourself the time, money and frustration and stay away from this company. My next call is to the Better Business Bureau.
