If you’re looking for a reliable professional pool company, Hydro Pool is where your search should end!We are happy with the service we have received and feel like this is the best company in the dmv area. Their Staff is respectful, Courteous knowledgeable and professional. When ever we’ve had issue with our equipment (it’s an older pool) they have fixed it to perfection.We also had a pool heater installed through them among other upgrades. They did an amazing job with that too.They have always been very honest & transparent with any repairs they have had to make. Aside from the incredible work they do they NEVER try to sell you anything you don’t need. They actually give advice on how we can best extend the life of our pool equipment.They’re always accessible, very Customer Service oriented & have great prices too.You definitely want to get on their weekly or bi-weekly scheduled in advance. I learned Spring time they start to get really busy, so if you’re not on their set schedule may be hard to get in. But that’s just across the board with all pool companies from what I gather.

Hydro Pool & Spa has done a fantastic job this year of updating and maintaining our pool.  They started by draining and power washing the pool, replacing the pump and lines (damaged due to freezing).  We have also contracted them for pool maintenance.  They have sent multiple crews, that are well versed in the overall maintenance of our pool and have been courteous every time.  In addition, we had Hydro Pool convert our pool to a Salt water environment.  All of this work was done right the first time, without frustration on our part.  They were in and out.  This is rare these days, as people dont do what they are paid to do.   Also, whenever we had a question, their response has been timely, professional and comprehensive.  I would highly recommend Hydro Pool to anyone that wants the job done right, for a good price and in a timely fashion.Best regards,Joaquin...A very happy client...

I have been using hydro Pool & Spa for pool openings, closings, regularly pool maintenance, equipment repairs, and installations. I am very happy for their services. One of the technicians I especially like is Jorge. He is very knowledgeable about all the equipment we use. He cares about his customers and he goes out of his way to be helpful. I have tried other pool service providers earlier years and I found Hydro Pool % Spa to be most most satisfying so I have stayed with them for more than 18 years. I highly recommend them.

We have had Hydropool take care of our pool needs since we moved to our new home 5 years ago (and having never owned a pool before, we’ve had lots of needs). They have always been great to work with and prompt to come out and help us. Even when their schedule is packed, they usually can squeeze us in. They’ve opened and closed our pool each season and helped us with any questions we’ve had. We recently needed a new pool cover and they were absolutely great about it. They were quick to get us a quote and everything was very detailed (not like some quotes I’ve gotten from other places). I highly recommend this company. Every person we’ve interacted with has gone above and beyond to make us happy and that means a lot. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the future!

Very pleased with the relationship we have with Hydro Pool. I want to especially note the professionalism that Jeff and Ric and the team in the service department have exhibited in ensuring that our pool is taken care of quickly and efficiently and well. Over the years problems arise with one’s pool, and never once has Hydro not responded immediately to handle the issue. That’s a reassuring sense of comfort when you are facing 40,000 gallons of water in your backyard.

I am a tech who found a few issues with my clients heater and a small air leak in her plumbing for the waterfall. Hydropool was to come out for a home warranty call to fix a couple wires on a heater and valve. I came to fix those issues but client insisted she go thru her home warranty. 3 weeks later they came. I wasnt there, but my client called me the next day upset that her pool was half empty. They broke a union, that had nothing to do with the air leak, the union they touched was on the return side when I KNOW it was suction side. My client is on a well and has a salt water pool. Her season ended that day. When there were four weeks left before closing. They came back out to fix the plumbing, and when I finally came out to see what they did, they only replaced half of what needed to be replaced on the heater, and cracked the union on salt cell. Like what did they do but waste her money?! They came out a third time, and everything was fixed. New comm wire, and plumbed in check valves (not necessary but not a bad thing either) But of course, they couldnt just gracefully redeem themselves. They had to tell my client her chemicals were out of balance and she should go with them next year. Lol chemicals out of balance after breaking a union and 9000 gallons were missing from a pool. Yall are a joke lol I would have been okay with all that happened and not said anything, but that last bit took me out. I understand mistakes, I know what I know thru mistakes. But lacking integrity? Yikes. Like how do you cost someone hundreds of dollars and the rest of their season, then try to poach them for service business, and pretend like you didnt just overtighten two unions, both causing leaks, one very significant, and then not check the heater after replacing one of two wires. YIKES! 3 trips, for a 30 minute task. YIKES!!

I have received outstanding service from the initial installation to pool maintenance over the last year. They have been very responsive to every email and request I have made. This was my first year using Hydro Pools after my longtime pool guy had to cut his route because of Covid. I found that the quality of the work done by Hydro Pools was excellent. They also offered a very competitive pricing model that gave us a fixed price on chemicals. I found that the quality of the work that they did on a weekly basis was really good and they seemed to do a really thorough job on the closing as well. I will be using Hydro Pools again next season.

I am so happy I found this pool company! They have provided really great service and are definitely the most reliable in the area. They’re really great about making last minute accommodations and have very knowledgeable Staff. Most pool companies the area are rip offs and are constantly trying to upsell. Hydro will be our service company until they close their doors and move to Mars.Our family moved into a home with a pool and a hot tub in the middle of the pandemic. Weve never had either, so we - I - had a nonstop stream of questions. Jeff in the service department was always quick to respond whether by phone or by email, and if I was being a burden, he never let on.The techs went the extra mile for us time and again. It was 4th of July weekend, and my filters were shot on a Friday afternoon. All was lost until I got a text message from Tom telling my he dropped by, installed new ones, and my pool was up and running. Dude seriously saved the long weekend with kids home and AC getting finicky.I could go on - the time we thought our dog drowned under the pool cover, and Jeff scheduled for a next-available rescue - but the bottom line is: their prices are fair as best as I can tell, and their people are 100% reason enough to keep Hydro on the payroll.Absolutely recommend.Btw, my dog lived.

2021Hydro Pool dumped hundreds of gallons of neighbors pool water into my backyard flooding Raingarden, drains, and eventually flowing rapidly out onto front lawn. Company unapologetic and no guarantees that their employees will not do this again.UsefulFunnyCool

Hydro Pool opened my pool. When I called them to say that the water did not clear as they said it would, they said swimmable is not what opening means. So, if you want a pool opening but you dont care about swimming this might be the company for you.Also, the 1lb bag of shock ($7.50 unit cost) was a $90 charge. The 32oz of Algaecide (~$15 at Lowes) was a $43.71 charge. Thats $130 for about 1-5 mins of work and less than $25 of material.

Customer service representative, a woman, was rude and unprofessional!!! And doubled the price of the service after service reps arrived and said they were unable to service the spa, due to lack of equipment and acid cleaner, on their truck. At the time appointment was made, details on the spa were provided to the male customer service rep (who was professional, btw). The female representative talked over me and insisted that I had made the initial reservation through her — emphatically not true — and hadn’t provided an accurate description of our spa (I was asked at time of scheduling if it was a swim spa — it is not!) The audacity to first inconvenience a new customer, double the price, all while speaking to them rudely! Declined to re-schedule and will book with a courteous, professional provider.

Had consistent Hydropool service on 50k gallon pool, two pumps, and waterfall for 17 years. Folks are always available for my concerns, decisively provide regular service, best priced in area, and are flexible with changes to schedule and services. Rick is the only guy I trust for good service.

Would leave no stars if I had the option-worst service that can be possibly provided…on top of that manager highly unprofessional and inconsiderate, would not recommend

Spoke with Megan about a return where I had double ordered some items. They were willing to accept a return which they really didnt have to since it was my fault and I had exceeded the 30 day mark. The fact that they did this shows the commitment to their customers and it speaks volumes about the company. Especially in todays times with everyone only caring about the money. I ordered a Dolphin pool cleaner and it was damaged during shipment. This was no small purchase, I have been dealing with them to replace it for 2 weeks and I am told they can not see the cracks in the plastic that I sent to them. Megan who works for them sees the cracks but in their warehouse they are having trouble seeing these cracks. They have told me numerous times they would call me back, but failed to do so. I had to get Maytronics involved and they are helping. This company is also known as hydropool and spa but they go through the pool supply mall which leads you to the hydropool & spa. Just beware of this company they really do not care about the customer. I would never buy anything else from this company.

Back in the 1990s, then again in the 2000s. I had pools. These were my go-to guys for service.Last month my sister asked for a referral to someone who could order and install a pool cover for her (you know- like LoopLoc). This requires precise measurements and setting anchors in concrete (in ber case, 45x).I gotta tell you all she was EXTREMELY pleased. Got a slate-colored new cover which fit precisely.Also, FWIW, they were the lower of three bids (she didnt tell me until she had already started getting estimates).Youre crazy if you dont give them a call.On time. On Point, and VERY competitive.

I ordered an item that was listed as in stock and to be received by 5-29-20. I called today, 5-30-20, to check on shipping status. I was told plant closed that makes these and it will be weeks before i receive the order. i understand this happens, but there should have been SOME communication about this. I was told there were a hundred orders affected. That does not seem like so many to just send a email explaining what happened.

They were open on Sunday and had everything I wanted in stock. Staff was friendly and helpful. All good!

Ordered four pool floats for my kids - all of which were listed as in stock. The day after the order confirmation, we received a shipment confirmation for Fedex delivery. Six days later we receive a message saying they never really had the product, and the order was cancelled.Would highly recommend you a pod this business.

I do the ordering for my company. I had an issue logging in, so I called in my order. I spoke with Megan on the phone and she was super nice and very helpful. She answered all my questions.

Our pool heater broke and I called Hydro Pool to get replacement. Every other company I called could not deliver for over a week. Hydro Pool told me we could have it in two days (four at the most). We ordered the heater and we were amazed that the trucking company called us that night. The heater was delivered to us the very next day, not even the two days that we were told. Amazing customer service! The heater arrived on a pallet and we have not opened it yet but it appears to be in great condition and was handled properly. Thank you for your quick and efficient handling of our order!

If i could give a minus half review i would, Hydropool.com is Hydropool and spas online portal,so i ordered online a 400 000 btu propane heater from another crowd called prime pool market,4 weeks later and after many calls they told me that they didnt have the stock and they would refund me.So not to be caught twice i phoned Hydropool first before placing an online order to confirm they had the unit in stock,yes they said we have 10 on our long island depot, ok i said if i order now is it guaranteed,shouldnt be a problem they said,anyway the next day i had not received an order confirmation so i called them and spoke to Megan, she said the guy i spoke to the day before had bought her the order and told her to order it immediately, she confirmed she had done so. happy days or so i thought,i then received an order confirmation saying the heater and 2 other items i had ordered would arrive sat 16th may.Sat 16th May the cover for the heater and some mouse deterrent arrived but no heater,i called and spoke to Jason sat 16th may and he said he would look into it and get back to me.He did not get back to me so Monday i called and spoke to him again, he said he can see its in the warehouse he will look into it and get back to me, surprise surprise he did not.I then called in wed 20th spoke to Jeff he said he can see Deweypile was the shipper but there was no shipping reference, he will call and phone me back that day, guess what... he did not, called this morning 21st and spoke to Megan told her this whole litany of BS, she put me on hold for some time then came on the line and said there was a problem with the 1 they had in stock... the 1!! they told me they had 10!! and that they will have to refund me!!! No alternatives... no real concern, an all round apothetic attitude!!When asked about the credit i was told well i have to push this up to my supervisor, i cannot tell you when the credit will be done pathetic to say the least.

5 star service! We recently purchased a home with a hot tub and we called Hydro Pool & Spa to come service it since we are new owners. I could not be more happy with the level of customer service and attention to detail the team and Gus (service technician) provided! We are so happy with how clean our hot tub looks and feels! Will definitely recommend this team to anyone needing pool or spa maintenance.

Rude! One of the service managers JEFF just hang up on me! I knew I should not have called them back. DO NOT USE THEM. They overcharge and do not do what they say they will. Better off using anyone else. I will give them no stars if I could. The only positive is Jason, who initially takes the calls.

Abysmal Customer Service. The unit inside the box did not match the description outside the box. I was able to get a hold of someone and they sent us a replacement part, however the part they sent us was again incorrect. The box was labeled incorrectly again, and we received the wrong part. Again. Ive attempted to contact a few times now and radio silence. I do not recommend this company by any means.

Hydro pool and spa opened and closed our swimming pool for many years and also repaired our pool equipment. We were happy with their service until last winter. They lowered the water level too much when they closed our pool for the winter. The pool cover failed because of this and we had extensive damage to the coping and had to purchase a new cover. They did not take responsibility for this and were very unhelpful. Because of this, we now use a different pool company to service and open/close our pool.

WORST SERVICE EVER! DO NOT BUY FROM! It said it would arrive on June 5th with regular shipping, SO I opted for $65 extra for 2 day shipping as I needed the item ASAP. Not only did it take 3 days to even get the item shipped ( June 5th by then) and they shipped it Ground, which would have been free. I tried calling and emailing with ZERO response..I had to open a PayPal claim to try and get my shipping money returned. What a joke!!!! Dont expect anything from them!! HORRIBLE

Asked for Hydro Pool to fix a hot tub leak. Four visits and four bills later I still have a leak. This is a never ending bad story. I would try somewhere else if I were you.

We used hydropool for several years but are looking for a new pool company. Weve had trouble with their careless mistakes during openings and closings. The last straw was when their guys turned on our heater when they opened the pool during a spring cold snap after we explictly discussed ensuring the heater would be left off. It ran for three days before we noticed the steam coming off the pool. I called to complain and no one returned my call. Im very disappointed with their customer service.

Worst pool company, ever!!Rick the Owner is soft-spoken and mild mannered when hes trying to sell you something but once you question him regarding a bill or service issue he becomes a different animal.Hes belligerent, rude and defensive! Hell talk over you or down at you if he doesnt agree with you.In short hes dishonest and is not someone I would ever do business with, again!He apparently treats his employees the same way! Two of them offered to service my pool on their own time using Hydro Pools parts and chemicals. I declined. But it showed me how much they distain management especially the owner.Too many pool companies in this area to put up with their puke!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

I urge you to stay well clear of these folks.They over-charged on EVERYTHING by hundreds of dollars !!!Just one example…: We needed a new pump and we went with a variable speed pump that Pepco had a $450 rebate for and we were told that it HAD to be installed by a Pepco certified pool company to qualify for the rebate, which was them of course. I learned much later that the rebate is available to anyone, even when it is installed by owner!(Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pool Pump 3.0 HP) and we were charged more than $1400 for the pump itself and $500 for the install. The pump is listed on their own website for less than $1000 … and when I confronted them about this, they got angry with me, saying: “dont we get to make something in the deal?!” … Making it somehow my fault that they are, in fact, just ripping us off.They also charged > $500 to install the pump and I believe that it is more than adequate to cover their costs and some healthy profit (imho) and they need not charge us > $500 on the product itself! but that was not the only time they overcharged us and they were untruthful with us on many occasions over a few month period during the time we were installing our pool.I recommend that you stay well clear of this shop, there are several shops in the area so compare and ask questions. If you are able, check out the YouTube guides for the many many aspects that are user serviceable and you may find you enjoy doing them yourself, especially when it could save you hundreds of $ over having these guys doing it for you!!Now I know better and I have learned a lot from YouTube guides and I am able to do many things myself.Best regards,m

I hired this company to open my pool (first encounter with them) a month ago. They started what was supposed to be an all-inclusive service, and then stopped midway through because of damage to the pipes. Our pump was under its own warranty, so we called the warranty company to do its cost-free repairs. Hydro Pool & Spa tried to charge us an additional visit just because we didnt hire THEM to repair the pipes at their price. Only when I pointed out to them their money-hungry behavior did they reverse the charge.Then, two weeks later, I received a mysterious $211 charge on my credit card. I had been out of town that whole week! When I inquired, they mentioned that they charged my card (admittedly without asking) for an outstanding bill from THREE YEARS ago, before I moved in, even though they knew that the account was under the housess previous owner. They just decided to go ahead and collect from me without asking. This was clearly with retributive intention. I demanded they reverse it; they complied and I am still waiting for that refund. Apparently, to Hydro Pools & Spa, credit card fraud is a totally viable option for punishing customers who do not want their costly repair services.These folks are money-hungry, manipulative, and completely inappropriate with their business practices. I recommend going with Leslies of Rockville for all pool services.

Its not easy to find a decent pool company in this area. Heres my problem with this place. Great for phone sales, terrible for home service/installations. The problem is the company sends a new person on every call. I suspect the workers are underpaid, since very few are knowledgeable or care enough to do a good job. Also the left hand doesnt talk to the right hand. Meaning the workers show up clueless and you have to explain over and over again what the issue is. In my experience Rick was helpful on the phone, when he wanted to sell us a new pump. During unforseen issues with the new set up, he became condescending, snippy, cocky and talked down as if our understanding or explanation of the problem no longer was worth his time or you simply we had no clue what we were talking about. We know our pool. Try listening and improving your customer service! We have spend $2500 in 3 weeks and feel that pricing is ridiculous for both hourly labor charges that arent broken down to actual work performed and overpriced parts, found cheaper anywhere online. I may have to surf through several more companies to find a decent one but I certainly wont be putting up with attitude problems or untrained workers. If I have to pay ultra premium fees I expect more than mediocre - to low repair satisfaction! Im ok with paying for convenience but I expect to not have to call multiple times and/or have repeat visits to fix the same issues over and over. Do your homework and find a referral rather than trusting online reviews!

HydroPool & Spa of Gaithersburg Md is a company to avoid. I contracted with Hydro Pool to replaster and re-tile my pool. The end result was1) a pool that had multiple leaks,2) the plaster installers leaving a mess by washing excess plaster down the street3) the plaster failing within weeks which ultimately had to be replaced, and4) tile that was not leveled when it was installed.During the 6 months it took to get Hydro Pool to come out to fix the pool, they sent me monthly invoices that I repeatably told them that I would not pay until the job was complete.I ultimately made numerous phone calls and sent 3 certified letters to Hydro Pool telling them that I wanted a final invoice with all late payment fees removed to no avail. I ended up getting a summons to Montgomery County Court with Hydro Pool suing me for the balance due plus late payment fees and other charges they had agreed to remove. Ultimately the judge found in my favor regarding the removal of the late payment fees and the other charges but ultimately the fact that I got sued has been on my credit report for 6 years.So in summary, in my 30 years of doing business with various contractors, Hydro Pool is WITHOUT QUESTION the worst contractor I have ever dealt with and I would recommend that if you need pool work done that you look for a more reputable contractor.

I was planning an extensive patio and pool remodel and spent literally two years doing extensive research on who to use to resurface and retile my pool. Cost was a clear factor, but quality of product and oversight of the final project was primary as I am very picky about perfection and state that clearly up front.I worked closely with Kameel at Hydro pool on a bid and was going to sign the contract when I came across some on-line reviews from one prior client who was clearly not a happy camper. That gave me pause and I again had extensive discussions with Kameel, did my independant research and in the end was satisfied that that one online review was an outlier and not a fair assessment (as documented by a lawsuit on the issue that was resolved in Hydropools favor).I went with Hydro pool and could not be more pleased. The project started on-time, was completed within the expected time frame and came out beautifully. Kameel was present throughout overseeing the entire thing and answered all my questions and addressed quickly every item I had. I am very happy with their work and the entire experience.
