Recently rediscovered this place and boy as I glad. My daughter is into hairstyles. And where we live, the products are minimal. We needed a certain hair for what she wanted and we found it here. This place has EVERYTHING! I could really spend some time and money in here. It is the Wal-Mart of hair products. I live about 30 minutes away but I do not mind coming here because I know we are going to find what we need. The staff is always friendly and we have a good experience.

BeautyMax specializes in the Beauty Products. They focused on bringing quality products to the Beauty Market. They have various Cosmetics & Skin Collection from all categories. They have trendy, and quality cosmetics with all favorite brands.

I lost most of my hair due to a medical condition and feel embarrassed when I shop in public. Gina was very kind and helpful yesterday when I came into her shop with my sister. She didn’t make me feel self conscious at all. This store has a wide variety to suit a person’s individual hair needs. I definitely recommend this shop and will buy all of my hair needs from Gina in the future.

Helpful staff and always stocked.. if they dont have it, theyll get it, but you could probably go with what they have..its all GREAT stuff..

The helper as new, however, she was a very big help in assistant me with locating the correct items that I needed.Honestly, Im just still glad to see that they have really opened their minds and trust to hiring more African American females; which are the primary source of their customer base. Forward steps in the right direction.

Beauty maxx is good ,just that a lot of things are over priced than anywhere else. I do love the hair selection bcus they do update and get new things in a lot. This is for the one in Gainesville not Ocala, they dont get as much new as Gainesville. Overall its good.

Stopped in for gloves and plastic caps. Although there were several employees in the store it was difficult to get assistance. The store was well stocked and I was able to get the items I went in for, but it did take longer than necessary.

The lady in the wig store was an absolute joy! I split my dress and she actually help sew it up! ❤️

The Asian woman did her lipstick and pinched her cheeks while there was a line and then called me up I have been working straight since I bought the materials that I got I no longer needed them and she wouldnt take it back because its been longer than 10 days never took it out of the bag still have the receipt and because my work schedule didnt allow me to come over to this side of town when I live on the other side of town wouldnt do the refund I would not suggest this beauty store for your supplies and if you have a job that keeps you busy definitely dont buy anything here because they are not very friendly or helpful DEFINITELY TRY ARCHER BEAUTY and all others before this place.

I would have given this place 0 star if it was available. I don’t know where that 4 stars came from but this place has a horrible customer service!!! The Asians in the store treat black customers like they were thieves and don’t even say thank you or hi. They have ZERO customer service experience. The asian lady picked up a fight with me because I brought up her not saying thank you after spending MY money in the store. And it turned out she was the “so called” manager. Check sally beauty for your needs before going to beauty max. They have experienced worker and high quality customer service. Even archer beauty has a little better CS than this place. Beauty max has no respect for black customers from the Asians. So disappointed

This store has variety of beauty and hair products and attendants are quite helpful. But please fire the Asian lady that works at the register. She has no etiquette and is always rude to customers each and every time I’ve been there. No need for an attitude when people are spending money in your store. Or go sit in the back where you don’t need to have to interact with clients. Ruins the whole experience. We need more black people owned beauty supply stores

Don’t buy any hair over 100$ dollars don’t get me wrong they have decent hair but charge way too much. I brought some hair for 128 it wasn’t even worth the money just a rip off smh. NEVER AGAIN!!

Attention black women especially those of you who are natural this is the place to go. Take your phone and Research what hair products work best for your hair texture. They have incorporated some African American employees that know a little bit about hair maintenance. When I go I like to research The products I plan to buy beforehand. Also ladies if youre looking for something sexy to wear for your significant other they have a great lingerie section in the back😎

Kinda of expensive, lots of hair products, but despite the large selection of weave, there not many styles to choose from. Styles are similar but many different brands with same styles like marley hair, bohemian, Senegal twists got 6 different brands each with there own rows.

One stop shop for all hair and skin needs. Accessories and shoes too.

Service is like you in jail they watch everyone shoulder no matter if have lots of money to spend at there freaken store I barely shop there anymore and the black community open there eyes and see they dont trust us and only hire few color folks to make it look like they not racist😯😲😱... Three months ago I want in there and saw white girls stealing but they were to busy watching that colored girl on the other side of store and didnt see that!!! Just keeping it real... We need more black owned hair stores. I brought a pack of hair that was not used. All I wanted to do was exchange it. Also, learn how to speak English. That is the problem. They sell our products but dont help us all they want is the MONEY.

I recently moved to Gainesville and this was my first time visiting Beauty Max. Over all, It was great. They had a lot of HAIR!. I was mainly looking for a clip in extension for my short hair. I was asked if I needed any help and I told them what I was looking for. The lady tried to help me but the colors were just very off in the brand that they had. However, she taught me how to make a clip in extension with just regular track hair. Although the store seemed busy, she took her time and explained every little details.I definitely recommend this store!

When I entered this store, I thought I arrived in hair extension heaven. The variety of hair they had on offer was amazing. The store was so large and I didnt know where to start. Most of the hair was kept behind the counter so I have to ask for assistance.I looked around and noticed they had a lot of staff walking around. I asked a man for help and he couldnt speak English so he call a lady to help me.She appeared to be in a hurry and left me still deciding what hair I wanted. I went over to the section with the pony tails and asked another lady to pass me two hair pieces so I could match it to my hair texture and color. I notice she appeared to be inpatient and when I asked to see two more she appeared annoyed. She call over another man to get the hair piece down for us and left. The man that was helping now didnt want to take down another piece and I felt as if I needed to pick one quickly.When you open a store that caters to a certain culture, there should be an understanding of what, how and why we buy.Like most black women I buy hair extensions and spend a lot of money per year on my hair pieces. It is very important that we match our hair color and texture to the hair piece.WHY put the hair behind the counter if no one wants to help you when you need to get to it?WHY is there no one there to direct you to the hair you want?Why have a shop if your staff is not patient enough to sell the produce?I left without making a purchase. I needed to buy hair and found a great store called Ebony beauty supply down the road, Excellent service and prices, I ended up spending $170 and left very happy.Beauty Max get your act together or you will lose a lot of business with the staffs stink, unhelpful attitude. I will never shop there or even recommend this store

6 day return policy. Seriously. I bought items during the weekend to do my hair and jusy didnt have enough tine to do it. So I save my itens for the next weekend. And realize I was just too ambitous. So I try to retun my items a week later and nope. Cant return. I just spent $70 and cabt return itens i am not going to use. This is ridiculous!
