I’ve been going to this shop since the early 90s. There have been at least three locations, this is the worst. There was no AC, and it was hotter inside than outdoors. The price of a box of flesh and blood I was considering purchasing, was easily 25%+ higher than market. The customer service reps seemed disinterested, and the shop space far too large for their inventory. Unfortunately, I won’t be back.

Went in and picked a book up. The price on the back as 9.99 and the lady was about to charge me 9.99. In casual conversation the conversation the conversation came to the topic that the book was a bit harder to find so she went to her I assume manager and asked for the price. He then confirmed 9.99 as stated in the back of the book. No stickers or other tags denoting any other price we’re on the book. She then whispered something to him, and he proceeded to look it up and then charge me 20. I would have been fine paying 20 but it’s incredibly scummy the way it was done. Don’t plan on coming here again if that’s how they practice business.Shame because I actually wanted to go there and pay for drafts on Fridays and commander leagues. Hope the 10 extra dollars was worth it.

Found some comics in the back issue bins, all priced out accordingly. Upon purchasing my books the owner instead of adding up the prices on his books, he goes on eBay and reprices all of them giving me a new total. Owners need to have more integrity and price their books right. We, the customer shouldn’t have to do their work for them. If a book gets hot, re price it. Don’t waste our time to do you work.

Ok so I have to admit the old location was so small 10 big wrestlers could fill the whole building now the new store is super big! They finally have seating for tournaments the owner is very kind and the staff are nice to me and my family

A very friendly knowledgeable staff. The environment is beautiful and they sell singles and pack for mtg. Can confirm 100% packs are unopened I have bought many packs now checking for tampering.

Decent selection of board games and plenty of comics. No complaints on that end, but had my daughter and wife with me and whomever was working that day decided that my daughter(who was being supervised) was tearing up plastic wrap off the board game boxes. Heavy board games sitting on metal shelving that has edges, but thanks for assuming my kid was the one doing it.

Do not go to this store. Nice building but owners that do not care about customer satisfaction. Brought up 3 items and they looked them up online and priced them from 4.50 a book to 15.00 EACH. I asked the guy “why isn’t this the upheld price at which I found it?” And he replied, “we don’t have time to go through all of our books and reprice them.” Never has this happened to me at a comic shop.

Friendly staff...everyone was helpful...was glad we decided to stop in and check this shop out while visiting Florida. Thanks for the store exclusives as well. Will be contacting for more books soon!

Me and my family came there to spend some money and get some comics hoping to feel welcomed and appreciated. That wasn’t what we received when we entered. We were not even helped and were treated like they don’t allow allow our kind. It was pretty sad because I always wanted to go inside and share the love for comics with my 3 year son and wife. They will not be getting any more of my hard earned money everrrrrrr again. They need to learn to treat people with some decency.

Last I went, they were about 90% done unpacking all of there stuff, but they can get you what you need to find if you ask. Mega has a huge selection of board games, war games/tabletop RPGs, comics, and TCGs (you can buy a booster pack from what seems like the past 10 years of Magic the Gathering sets). If you partake in any of these hobbies, stop by and they can probably hook you up with what youre looking for

Mega Gaming comic books: Has a great, a huge selection of comic books: classic and new, all sectioned an organized. This place to go if youre looking for a comic books it is excellent, very well kept, the customer service is excellent ,if you a comic book fan in any type from the classics 70s and 80s or some of the books of the 90s and 2000 this is the place to go in Gainesville and any surrounding area!

One of the best comic book stores I have seen in Gainesville. The dudes working the front desk, which Im thinking are the owners, are awesome, friendly, and are willing to help you locate that special comic book you might be in search for. Love their comic selection as well as their huge board game selection. Love the discounts on board games, and the store front totally brought me in. Before I left, the dudes told me they were packing everything to move to a much larger location, and I wish them all the best of luck! Will come back again whenever I visit Gainesville again.

A beautiful, hidden gem just down university street mega gamic & comics is a well organized and neatly catered location for any comic, board or card game needs you might have. They are switching places soon and I am confident this will mean bigger and better things. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for comics and board games both old and new.

Well,it was a fair experience. The staff was decent enough. It was a bit gloomy, but during covid-19 it is normal.

Very rude and greedy they would not let my friend read without paying for something and wouldnt let him buy a yugioh booster pack because they didnt want to open it told him he had to buy the whole thing (anywhere between $80-100 approximately)

Don’t buy cards from this place. My girlfriend bought 2 elite trainer boxes after work so we could open them together and she ended up getting one that was resealed and sold for full price. $110 down the drain because these people don’t get their product from trusted sources. If you’re thinking about buying cards in Gainesville Fl check out meelypops, great place with legit and untampered products. Don’t go here if you don’t wanna waste your money.

I’m a local customer that frequents this location and I must say that they stand alone in our town bringing us some of the most amazing products from magic the gathering, Pokémon, d&d, all the way to comics... whatever you are into they accommodate and help you with your playing and collecting needs. As you may know the shop looks a little rough and play tables are a shamble as you watch two of the most knowledgeable associates Chris and Daniel constantly packing, boxing, and shipping while helping customers without a ounce of exhaustion and always willing to help you with any of your needs. Back to it though there is a amazing reason why it is though!!! mega gaming and comics is moving locations and you will not believe what the new location has in store for our community. I was offered a peek in to this new location or should is say magical realm of happiness from the owner sherif who alone has been very patient with some of the silly stuff that is slowing them down with the move while providing me personal help to complete my collections and harass them on a weekly basis. Fabulous local games and comics store. Has an extensive comic collection. Decently large boardgames section. Sells MTG, d&d supplies, Warhammer figurines, paints, dice, and books and probably more I havent actually explored. Does several in house gaming days including MTG and d&d (times and days on their website). Very personable staff and a member discount.

Staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help with suggestions that meld with your purchase (i know its an upsale but what actually makes the sale is they explain when they work together) only beef is that I miss being able to play. Stupid covid

The good: Great place to get together to play wargames or trading card games. They have a great comic book inventory and an extensive Magic the Gathering singles selection. They provide an in store customer facing search engine for their inventory.The bad: It is a bit cramped. Prices can be high. No free play board game selection.

An amazing collection of comics, cards, board games and other collectibles. I felt wave after wave of nostalgia when walking into this store which is overflowing with all the trappings of the science fiction and fantasy genres. Theres far too much to take in during just one visit, this is a place that you want to come back to time and time again for that warm fuzzy feeling. Chris and Tee were very welcoming and helpful, the place has an overall great vibe as tournaments in various games are held nightly. I can only see their footprint in the Gainesville community growing.

Ill admit I really only shop here for brand new comics or if I just want to eye a few potentials for my collection. Otherwise, I feel like you can find much better prices on eBay and- sometimes- Amazon. I have to give this place 5 stars for actually having new comics and A LOT of old ones, though. And the people here are friendly and willing to help find what you need.Card aspect: I am only familiar with Pokemon and think you find it cheaper elsewhere but its nice they do have a lot here.

Great comic shop for the geek/nerd/ fan or combination there of in all of us. Host great game nights too as well as great selection of inventory. Some of the employees seem to be a bit, shall we say, not playing with a full deck, but are friendly over all.

Every time I walk in they always greet me and every customer that walks in after me. Im always shocked by how friendly their staff is and by how knowledgeable they are at different board games and comics. I like to ask what board game has been selling and listening to what they have heard every board game they have recommended for me has been fantastic! I will continue to buy games from them! Was a little worried about my visit after reading some of the other google reviews, but could not have been more pleased. I went in looking for some Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures and the associate working the desk immediately began showing me what he had available. After the first two packs I bought, I ended up coming back for a third. Overall great experience!

DO NOT SELL MAGIC SINGLES HERE.I brought some magic the gathering cards in to trade for store credit. After 20 minutes of looking he only had interest in force of wills and dual lands. Then he had to call the owner to ask for permission to buy them.The buy offer was 35% in store credit. In my entire time playing magic Ive never encountered such a terrible buylist offer. Save your time, every other online retailers buylist will demolish this store.

Easily the best store for tabletop games in town, and possibly the best I have ever been to. The selection is MASSIVE and the prices are usually on par with (and sometimes better than) Amazon. They usually stock up on several coppies of everything so Ive been able to grab some hard-to-find games that have been sold out everywhere else. Fantastic place.

You wont find a better stocked gaming store for at least 100 miles. They have collections of comics, collections of collections of comics, two whole aisles of board games, and the most warhaming miniatures Ive seen for sale in one store.The staff could not be more accomodating. They roll in nee stock for MTG and other cards. There are multiple long tables including one always set up and ready for Warhammer decorated terrain.Parking is a little tricky, but once you find a spot you wont want to leave for hours.

I love this place. Not only do they carry the basics, like Superman, Batman, and Thor, but they also carry a large selection of the indie ones, which are my favorites. I always get a little wary of finding a new title to read, but the staff, know their stuff and have helped me find comics that I like. Not only that, but they also have a lot of cool games and rpg essentials. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get into comics and those wanting to keep reading them.

Went in on a Monday night to browse and pick up a gift for a friend. The employees acknowledged me right away but werent too pushy. After some browsing I was approached again and ended up having a nice conversation about the release of a comic I was looking forward to. They were nice, approachable, and knowledgeable.

I recently visited some friends in Gainesville, and they told me I should check this place out. They could not have been more spot on! They have a wide variety of products to keep any gamer or comic book enthusiast happy. The store is spacious with plenty of room for people to play tabletop games and Magic. Speaking of Magic, they have by far one of the best organized collections of Magic cards Ive seen. Its really a treat as a player to be able to go to a computer, and instantly see if cards youre looking for are in stock. And you can even make a cart of cards you want so they can easily get them for you. No incessant hassling of the employee required to dig for that one card youre looking for. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. It was definitely a very pleasant shopping experience. This is the LGS I will be shopping at whenever Im in town.

Since getting a whole new staff, this store has done a 180! The owner has always been nice, but I used to avoid this place like the plague, despite them having the best Magic selection in Gainesville and Jacksonville. The new staff has completely changed my mind. They are happy, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous.

The guy I spoke to (the nefarious Jason, as per the posts here) was really kind and nice - I was in and out in 60 seconds. Dont believe the reviews dissing him - he was nothing but class all the way. Very pleased - Ill be getting my expansions here!
