Came in today to return a large amount of 2x6x16 treated that varied in thickness more than 1/8”, and couldn’t be used for decking. Was told that 2x6 ground contact treated wasn’t to be used for decking even though MN building code requires 2x6 treated or 5/4 in our city. Expected more out of premium grade. On returning the boards, was told someone could assist with unloading back onto the racks. Had multiple employees sitting on forklifts watch us unload the entire load while doing nothing. Never again. I’ll take my business to an actual lumber yard.

Lumber prices were high service was ok was able to pick up everything I needed to build this in one stop

I cant help but smile when walking into a Menards store. I know I can find what Im looking for in minutes, without having to hunt down an employee to write and essay on how to get to the correct department. Easy peasy - thats Menards.

We come to buy a snow blower and a 3 pice set of table and chairs.The snow blower was in a pallet on the back and they can’t sell it and the table set the only that was available was a floor model that is scratched and in not good condition and just want to give me 10% off. Today y was ready to spend $1300 and the store employee was not in the mood to make money for his employers. We went to home depot across the street and I got what I wanted

Purchasing is great. Sales of 11 percent off are good, just remember to pick up the form to send in! Plenty of items to purchase. You might need to search for Staff. But thats the same in most big box stores.

Being a home owner Menards has always been a better option than the Home Dept for me. Not knocking costumer service, they just have a better all around selection and seem a little less chaotic. This is simply my perspective of the two stores near me.

It has everything you could want but its so big its hard to figure where the items are.

The staff here are unhelpful and treat customers as if they are a nuisance. They act as if it is a bother to them to help the customer. They do not apologize when there is a problem. They do not make eye contact, nor seem to care when asked for help, and often do not have the answer anyway. They clearly do not value their customers. The store is also old and run down. There are plenty of other better options.

I called and told the manager over the phone that I had been approved for a menards big card and I had not received it yet and was wondering if I could still come in and make a purchase. She told me yes you can. I come into the store and do my shopping and get to the register and enter my information that was required and I get declined several times. I then get a email stating that I have to activate my card. How embarrassing first of all. Then I explain my situation to the same manager that I talked to earlier and she has no apology or sorry for the inconvenience she caused me. She continues to not acknowledge that she was wrong and states that shes been a manager for 25 years. You would think after that amount of time you would learn how to treat your customers with a little respect. Unbelievable I will never shop here again because of her disrespect towards a customer.

Didnt get 2 things l wanted.Been years since been there.I went in store and what l wanted was in other building and you had to walk outside quite far.Left to go to the Menards near me.PS.. Menards has BAD mens room. Terrible. Both stores.

Went here several times. Good selection, but not very helpful or friendly staff (with a few exceptions), and store could be a bit more organized and presented in a better layout like Home Depot.

So frustrating to have their store split into to buildings. Actually that is nextdoor multiple locations for one store is a bad idea. Also employees are not that helpful, I would recommend other options.

The service is quickly declining and their selection is dwindling even quicker. Makes it even harder to bid or properly schedule projects.

Visited the store to buy some stuff for home. I need the restroom and I was shocked the way the restroom looked. It was nasty. Informed the floor staff and watched for good 30 minutes but no one took actionCame back 2 hours later and still no result. What kind of business that does not take care of the bathrooms to show their cleanliness??

This is our go-to place for home improvements. Staff is helpful and everything is organized.

Store is old, and laidout a bit different than other Menard stores. Has everything you need. Was clean and staff was very friendly.

They usually have what I want which is what they had all three employees helped me find bathtub strainers as well as Brita water pitcher 😀

Menards is Menards. They had everything I was looking for. The store was clean and all the employees were wearing their masks. The checker cleaned the card reader at the check out after my sister used it so it would be clean for me to use. We smiled. Good job!

I go to this store for convenience. It is definitely not one of the better Menards.Its kind of cluttered and makes things a little harder to find.It is an older store that has 2 different buildings. So you have to go outside and to another building for trim, wood, appliances, locks, beds etc. And a lot of times they are out or dont carry what you are looking for like other Menard stores. So if its important, call ahead.

Was a good menards to shop at. Found everything that was needed. One thing that wasnt right was 3 workers doing carts were chatting outside and tossing an object around. Not really professional.

Rude or completely unhelpful employees. Only two lanes open with at least 8 customers per. One of the worst menards I’ve ever been to.

Crazy experience today! I will focus your great employee Megan!!!10.20.2020 snow storm Twin Cities well I went to purchase a snow blower in the store.Online I was informed that it was a display item only available but would get full warranty. No problem right?Wrong Step told me I couldn’t purchase and it’s only for online, confused I’m like how? She continues to refuse to sell to me, I ask for a store manager and she walk away.I go to the front of the store and requested a manager(Megan) and gave her the rundown and immediately she says you can purchase it.Lucus is called to assist me and he says no he wouldn’t sell it.Back to Megan and explain that I was told once again NO.She made a call and a few moments later my snow blower is brought up to me.I was told to go to a different store!🤦🏾‍♀️I just wanted to shout Megan out for her awesome customer service.Thank you again Megan!💙

Went in for two things and that is what I came out with. Good, friendly service when i ask for it and they let me browse without harassing me.

This place is the worst! Everything is backwards. The store is laid out so you have to walk from one end of the store to another. (An entire city block). Nothing is easy to find. The people that work here aren’t helpful. They make you do all the work. At first I found it laughable how bad it is. The terrible quality of the store, the clueless employees (to be fair there are a couple of great ones, but they are rare) and lack of customer service. I would avoid this place at all costs. Just terrible.

Online order was ready super quick! Bummer that 2 items were on backorder.. wish the website had told me that rather than after the order was processed. Didnt see an option for curbside pickup. Also didnt see any signage at the front of the store (I may have missed it) so I waited for a clerk to finish with another customer and was told order pick up was in the back of the store. Staff is always friendly.

Was very disappointed in customer service levels. Clearly understaffed. But I was trained at a minimum that the customer was at least acknowledged as soon as they walked into your area. I probably have high expectations. A lot of time waisted to find out an item currently being promoted on TV was sold out in every store in the metropolitan area.

The store was organized and clean. The person who checked us out at the register was very nice and helpful. We however were made to feel quite awkward due to the fact that from the time we entered the store we were followed around by no less than 3 employees as if to assume we were thieves, to the extent that they would peer around corners which for me is extremely odd and unnerving. I will probably pick a different Menards in the future.

Bought a Backyard Creations Steal Fire Ring Lid in summer 2020 and it is already rusting. Used on a gas fire pit when raining. Had it covered with a tarp all winter so it did not sit with snow on it. However, it still rusted in less than 1 year.

I generally like Menards. So today I tried to return some masonry glue tubes, but;I had already returned the tubes from this fall that I hadnt used. I figure, the ones I tried to return, were tubes from a prior year that I should have returned then. Ok, Ill scrap those. The lady at the counter was so friendly in explaining what probably happened. Thats good customer service. The checkout lines were a little understaffed.

Went to Menards on Central and 694 in the Twin Cities. Needed spray primer and then a pack of simple work gloves. Asked a Menards employee working in an isle stocking shelved where I could find gloves? Seemed to be bothering him, he replied pointing in a direction I needed to go find the gloves. I thanked him as he had already turned away ignoring me. All to often Menards employees are chatting amongst themselves, respond as though youre bothering them and poor customer service at the front checkout. I am always polite and amazed with Menards poor customer service no matter where I go! Id love to be a company trainer and do secret shopping audits of companies.

Great for home improvement projects and for general household maintenance and repairs.

In trying to find something I came across helpful individuals. Made my search easier.

Some manager on a power trip grabbed my paid merchandise from me, because I said No when he told me I need to put a mask on. 1. You dont know if I have a medical condition that makes me exempt from that mandate - which can be found on the MN department of health website. 2. You sir were not the mandated 6ft apart. 3. The items were paid for, so at that point I owned them. He said he was going to do a return, please provide me with your store policy where it states you can force someone to return their items they paid for.

Solid menards, helpful staff, only reason that I dont like it is the double building that makes it a drag when you need paint and wood or drywall and mud.

Love the 11% rebate, especially when I am doing a big project.

I love the place been going for years, but got snapped at cause mask was hanging down, she was kind of rude about it ended in front of people other customers not to mention my wife and son. But still wont stop me from going there but that customer service was uneventful.

I have ordered items online for store pickup several times. I always wait for the confirmation email indicating that my orders are ready. Upon arrival I have the barcode ready to scan on my phone. When I pull into the yard for pickup, my items have never been ready. I always wait while the employees look for my items in the pickup area and then go into the store and pull them from the retail areas. Target and Cub Foods do curbside pick up without delay. Menards is a total fail.

I just did not like that they were not smiling or friendly or had eye contact when you walk up to customer service counter

I went in to rent a truck to bring a couch from from Fridley to Golden Valley and rental was so easy and quick! I want to rate 4 stars because the couch I was trying to move didnt fit in my doorway but that wasnt their fault. You live, you learn. Plus when I realized the weather stripping came off from my apartment door while attempting to get it through, I had to run back a 3rd time (different menards) so all in all, I went to Menards 3 times that day. To rent a truck, to return the truck then to go buy weather stripping. Thank God for menards.

A great selection of home improvement products, pet supplies and wild bird products. They also have nicely priced pool supplies that many other places dont have. All employees wearing masks although I cant say the same for customers.

Got what I needed. Asked for help and got it. Quick trip no complaints! Now its time to plastic wrap these windows.

Fine experience. Forgot my mask so they made me buy one. First place that made me buy one instead of providing them. It seems if you are going to mandate something, you should provide them. Health crisis and all. I could also just remember my mask next time.

Menards is a good option other than HD or Lowes. Better Lumber selection. The near constant 11% rebate is a good deal especially on larger purchases.

Prices marked wrong on their item there was five they were all marked the same it was $6 more when I got to the register the manager came over she was extremely rude and walked away from me after she said no its more its not what its marked. Terribly rude manager. But the cashier was nice.

Its always a pleasant experience when I come to this Menards, other then the new female security guard who is AN EXTREMELY MEAN AND RUDE INDIVIDUAL!!!

Good selection of lumber but recent bad experience made me revise my rating. Paid $80 to have lumber delivered- wasnt given a date estimate or anything, just a call one day saying they could drop it off Friday. Noticed that some stuff was missing. Took two phone calls, nearly an hour, to get my refund. Later, noticed boards were also missing. Called store about missing boards- was told they were set aside and we could come pick them up. When we got there the next day, three of the five employees we interacted with were not wearing masks properly (i.e. not covering their noses). The boards were not where we were told they would be. After running around the lumber yard, we were directed towards a manager, who told us the boards we had been promised were out of stock. He did get us longer boards and offer to have them cut down, which was satisfactory. We had to find someone in the lumber yard to cut them, and the saw blade was very old so the cut will need to be cleaned up, but they at least fit in our vehicle. The employee tried to cut the board in half at first, so we were worried he might have messed up the cuts but they were all 12 even. We also had to return some lumber at the same time, which was much more difficult than it needed to be. The whole experience was so exhausting that we didnt pick up the few things that were on our list while we were there. Beware if you are considering a delivery- 4/9 of our items were missing or lowered in quantity, with no notice before or after they shipped. They just left it up to us to take a thorough inventory to find out what was missing. The whole reason we paid for delivery is because we didnt want to transport long boards, and we wound up having to do so, anyway. Next time Ill save the delivery fee and pick out my own lumber, and that way at least Ill know how many boards I have and I wont have to deal with the split, knotted, discolored, off-size (too narrow) and warped boards that got shipped along with our order.

Im a always room for improvement kinda guy, but this place down right needs better experienced employees. Not sales experience, but trade experience. People that have been in the field and have knowledge & tips to offer.

Menards has the best prices overall. Its been that way since at least the mid eighties. Probably since they have existed.

They have everything you could need. Now, only if I could find it. . . . I know its in here somewhere. . .

This place has Everything, in a comfortable non-corperate kind of way.

Crowd here seemed to care more about these times that call for social distancing. I like that I can ALMOST get everything I need here in one stop. At least something that can tide my family or home improvement needs over until I feel brave enough to run to another store.

They generally have more product selections than home depot but the service for special orders/ online is bad. Very complicated and junky store. Online order was terrible experience. People that you deal with are OK. But very young and sure get paid min wage so cant blame them. One of the worst retail experiences ever. Project was delayed by several weeks due to lost order. Tracking is difficult and products are almost always damaged and dirty. I would always choose home depot, but sometimes menards is only retailer that carries certain products so I have to deal with it. The store has potential to be good...they just have poor top leadership, if they even have a leadership structure at all, it seems like they dont.

Horrible customer service! I purchased an a vacuum and was not able to return because the receipt they gave me had a different SKU number. The cashier probably messed up something and it is my fault now. Horrible! Take your money somewhere else!

Typical things you buy at a store like this. I would say the wood is sometimes second rate. Nothing really stands out.Home Depot has all there wood inside. Which I think is a plus as far as quality of wood and convenient during bad weather.

Fast and efficient. Employees always knowledgeable or helpful till questions are answered. One of my favorite locations.
