Jim is very helpful and professional but I paid 700$ to fix my jaguar transmission and after it didnt fix it I was told to go some where else and pay again to get it looked at and then fixed, at this point dont bring your jaguar here, only American cheap cars, waste of my time and money not to mention they made me think they could fix the problem.....

I had problems with this shop: 1) They installed a remanufactured power steering pump and did not reconnect my vacuum line which controls many other components in my 1997 Dodge Ram 2500. The fittings on the power steering pump leaked immediately and I had to bring it back for adjustments. They claimed to have it fixed, but leaking continued. I went to another Aamco shop to have it looked at. They put Dye in the fluid and found the pump to be defective. I brought it back to Fridley and they installed a new remanufactured pump. 2) lost a beauty Cap on my left front side. The manager tried to locate a replacement and had a difficult time finding one and suggested I look. I found one through a dodge dealer for $150. The manager soon found a used one that was in poor shape. I had to settle for it plus $50. Just a little annoying. 3) the final item I am upset with is the price of the parts. I should have done some price checking before I committed to the work. Later I discovered the clutch kit and hydraulic parts cost me double what another shop would have charged. My bad I guess, but upsetting none the less. 4) this is not the experience I was expecting from a national chain that I had previously used for a transmission rebuild. That was done in St. Paul with no issues and great service. Moral of the story, trust but verify and always double check the work.

Aaron went above and beyond to find issues and solutions with my Grand Caravan, when other service providers could only say I needed a new transmission. In little time, he and the team found that was not the case, and offered other analysis and solutions. I have gone back again, and he has been freindly and helpful in follow-up. Looking to take more business their.

You guys (Ray & Jim at the Fridley location) are awesome!! I brought my car somewhere else, multiple times, and they had no idea what was wrong with it. You guys had it figured out in 15 minutes and in less than an hour you had it fixed. It runs great now! You were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back. Thank you again for such Great Service!!

July 6, 2016, I paid this establishment to rebuild a transmission on a 2005 Hyundai Tucson to the tune of $1664.44. The repair lasted less than 13 months. Now, they replaced the hydraulic pump AND repeat the same work on the clutch $1719.00 +. The additional clutch work was not authorized, when the said they replaced the pump and it still made noise, they were told to figure out where the noise was coming from, not to told to repair any other issues without contacting us. Strongly urge you to take your vehicle elsewhere. The warranty is 12 months, or 12,000 miles which is basically worth nothing. The vehicle was taken back to them twice after the first repair, they couldnt find the noise or any issue. They now state it wouldnt have lasted this long if there was something wrong. From research: Your clutch and its companion components are designed to last above 60,000 miles of normal driving and clutch use. This repair lasted approximately 36,000 miles, almost all of which were highway miles by a driver with nearly 30 years experience driving a manual transmission vehicle. Extremely disappointed in the first repair job, and the expensive cost of the second as well. This is with a 25% discount on labor Im told. Unbelievable! Corporate was not helpful, next recourse is BBB and Small Claims Court. Buyer beware. Unfortunately, we were over a barrel and did not have the luxury of reading the reviews prior to the first clutch repair. Very, very, very expensive, and terrible warranty.

I brought my van in for an alignment check. Everything was good no repairs necessary. As a woman I was happy they didnt try to take advantage of the situation. The mechanic I was dealing with, Ray, was very professional, kind, and caring. He was pleasant to deal with. I will return.

We had our transmission rebuilt in June of 2016 and payed 1700.00 . Had to bring it back in to have them check a noise it was making. He told us that although he couldnt figure out what was making the noise that we shouldnt worry because of the warranty we had on it. A year and a month later the transmission goes out again. So we bought it to them thinking they would work with us. They were told to find out what was wrong with it. Instead they fixed the transmission and charged us another 1700.00. This should have been fixed correctly the first time, the time we brought it back or at the very least for a discounted price. They do not stand behind their work. I would avoid this place at all cost. I still dont belive its fixed correctly.

I dont even know where to start. A truck was brought here after it stalled. They said they were busy, which is understandable, but they rushed through diagnosing the truck. Did find a bad ignition coil and replaced along with cap and rotor. After truck was picked up, it was hesitating and backfiring. When called back, instead of apologizing for the inconvienence and offering to inspect their work, they claimed the engine needed a valve job and offered for it to come back later in the week to do the job but that it would be normal for it to misfiring and hesitate on acceleration until they did the valve job. I got called in (19 year certified technician) as my husband is good friends with the customers. Not only did they miss the grossly leaking fuel pressure regulator and cracked high pressure fuel line where it the bed was right next to the ignition coil, but they put the wires for cylinder 2, 3, 7 and 4 on the wrong points on the distributor cap. I rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator, fixed the broken fuel line and redid the wires on the cap and the truck not only runs like new, but the over powering smell of fuel that the customer wanted addressed is completely gone.If youre too busy to take in more work, dont. It will save you from reviews like this. And I have to question had they brought the truck back for the valve job, would they have caught their mistake or done the job and needlessly cost them several hundred dollars? As a fellow technician, this is so disheartening. This is why we have such a bad rap.

Called about my trans. Great phone service but when I got there the guy acted as if he didnt want nothing to do with me or my car. I have a warranty and dont have to pay out of pocket, but I dont want them working on my car just because of his attitude. But thats where they sent me. Sad! And then I read the reviews and now Im really worried

Took my car in to get fixed. After almost 2 weeks I get my car back, less then 3 miles down the road the check engine light comes back on. I call them and was told I would have to pay the diagnostic fee again.???? Less then a month later my car is having the exact same problem it was. Before taking my car to them I had gotten an oil change done, upon getting my car back there was zero oil in it at all... called to question that and never got a returned phone call. I would never take a vehicle back here nor would I recommend it.

Price ended up $200 more then quoted $2400. They said they updated everything, and it lasted me 50,000 = 4 years and now needs rebuilding again. Going with Kennedy Transmissions this time, they offer 3yr warranty and Aamco only offers 1yr. Plus the owner of Kennedy said they did not do all the updates on it when it was rebuilt last time.I take care of my vehicle and did not abuse it or over load it. 2000 GMC Sierra 4x4.

What a pathetic company. They do not even trust their own work, because they offer a 1 year or 10,000 transmission warranty. What kind of warranty is that? The sales guys promise discounts, then they do not apply them when they bill you. Nor will they work with you to resolve them. Go to Kennedy or ANY other place.

They got me on a bait and switch. Initially I was told they were running a special for $1995. Once they took my transmission apart the price jumped to $3500. 13 months later the transmission failed. They have signs up in their lobby that state they are members of the Better Business Bureau however they are not and have not been for years. Take your car anywhere else.

I would never bring my car to this shop they are definitely a rip offI brought my ford fusion to them to replace the transmission they try to charge me storage fee because of the warranty place took to long. I say I week later the transmission started to shift real hard in 2000 rpm and 3500 rpm so they charged me diagnostic for the check engine codes that had nothing to do with why I brought my car in for.. so I paid the 140 after taxes and took my car somewhere else and had to pay for them to put another transmission in my car. what would a evap leak with gasket have to do with my transmission.. I work for a automotive shop myself but we cant do transmission at are shop.. I would never Refer nobody to go here at all.

I would not recommend them and to anyone. We were sent there by the dealership because of transmission problems. The Fridley shop gave a price quote that should have included everything needed to get the job done, not call us and tell us this needs to be done and the dealership isnt paying for it so you will. When we asked the dealership they either knew nothing about. It or when they checked it was not needed, according to the shop. The last straw was when they called and said the engine mount was shot and no dealership would pay for this and it needs to be done, we found out it was just loose and the dealership did cover it, now they changed how much we have to pay and will not explain.

After preforming unauthorized work on my vehicle this shop charged me $1900+ for a repaired transmission when my quoted price was only $13.95 for an inspection. After being mislead multiple times I got my attorney involved. After receiving a letter from my attorney they decided to charge me $400+ for storage fees. This company will do anything to get money even if it means unauthorized work. I will be taking them to small claims court if my problem is not fixed.
