Ive called to ask about servicing a flat tire for my 26 Trek 4500 Alpha. They were too quick to dismiss me over the phone... We dont have any. Ok? Well, for a $40 tire they were not interested, they lost a customer planning on buying a brand new Trek bike. I bought the Bontrager tires and tubes on Amazon and did the job myself. Feels great !

Super nice staff! I bought a bike lock at the store a few days ago. I couldn’t figure out how to attach the lock with the mount onto the bike. I went back to the store and they attached it for free even after I offered to pay.

Great people to work with, walked in greeted with warm welcome,offered to inspect my bicycle, tightening nuts and bolts, pump air in tires, inspected bicycle throughout since I havent ridden in few years, after few adjustments give it a clean bill of health, asked me to watch out replacing tires in few months. Asked me to ride it around the block before I leave the store to make sure bicycle is running smooth. After the test ride I asked for bill, a very young kid who took care of me smiled and said no charge. I will be going back there again. A well run(maybe a family business) business with excellent customer service. Great crew works there, I was listening their interaction with walked in customer, very helpful and suggestive to meet your needs.Thank you guys.

Terrible customer service. Only one employee acknowledged we were in the store and it was the cashier. The rest just sat there talking to each other and there was no one in the store but myself. After reading other reviews it seems you need to know the employees by name, or they won’t help or are condescending to you. Good thing I know how to fix my own bike! Go elsewhere.

Went there to get my bike fixed but owner/employee was very rude and was making fun of my bike knowledge in front of other employees. I mentioned that I m just starting out but I guess he had preconceived notion about me and was not ready to listen. I am not sure but maybe he just wanted me to buy a new bike from there shop but not a good way to do sale pitch. Not going there again.

I brought my new shining bicycle here for some minor adjustments. Found a big ugly scratch on the top tube after I got my bike back.

Nice staff. But the store can be better organized to improve the appeal. There should be sliding glass doors or doors which stay open as it is hard to go in and out with bikes. Centripetal, the other bike shop in Fremont was too busy to repair my bike, asking more than a week. Josh from Bicycle Garage fixed it within an hour. Thank you!

I visited the shop during a supposedly busy period and yet the very friendly staff gave all the time to each one of the customers without making them wait for long. They are extremely quick in their repair work. Overall , a very friendly atmosphere that is super efficient.

Rude customer service. Had puncture removed and it got punctured again within a minute of driving the bicycle. Went back and they were rude and were trying to charge me again by saying it’s a new flat.

I stopped in for some random small parts that I needed and the guys working there were super knowledgeable, helpful, and got me what I needed. When I left, the manager/owner was teaching someone how to ride her first bike. Super great place, will be back often.

I went there to buy my nephew his first mountain bike. I walk in with my wife and kids and this middle aged white man with a baseball cap at the counter literally yells at us saying Stop right there ! theres too many people in here. Thats literally how he greets us. For 5 to 10 minutes he continuously ignored us while other customers were allowed to enter and shop around, he never once asked us why we were there or what we were looking for. Finally I asked if we could look around and he said no, only one of us could look around. I understand the restrictions due to Covid19 but this man was being uneccesarily rude. Frustrated, I asked him if he even had a 24 boys bike in stock and he simply stated No! He didnt say he was out of stock or that he will be getting more bikes soon or anything, just a simple No! He could have asked me what I was looking for in the first place and not waste 15 minutes of our time for nothing. This is the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Maybe he has something against Muslims because he saw my wife was wearing a head scarf. Anyways, the store looked unorganized and poorly stocked as well. I will never go there again!

So helpful and affordable! I brought my bike in with a hard-to-fit seat post. They figured out the correct size and we were able to get the bike out on the road.Love this place.

Terrible driver on the road. Cut people off. Tailgated like crazy and was accelerating over the speed limit creating a danger to all the other cars (and bikes) on the road. He may or may not have good bikes but this is the type of character youre dealing with.

My experience with the Bicycle Garage was a pleasant one. I ended up buying an awesome bike and accessories at a great price and was able to purchase everything with interest free financing. Scott did a wonderful job in assisting me with my purchases. I would definitely recommend, and do business with them again.

Excellent service. Charak (hope I did not misspell his name too badly) was super helpful and knowledgeable about cycling gear! Blessed to have this oasis of a cycling store in the East Bay ... as most chain cycling stores (Summit Cycling, Mikes Bikes) are mostly in South Bay, Peninsula, Berkeley, and Pleasanton/Dublin ... like an oasis in a desert.

Very straight forward and to the point. Not a lot of fluff. If you like to be wine and dined or fawned over, then this might not be the place for you. However, if you want knowledgeable people who dont sugarcoat things then youll be at home.I asked questions with some preconceived notions from casual conversations about bikes with friends and he set me straight right away and helped me get the bike I needed. If I was a sensitive guy I could have been offended by how quickly he dismissed my opinion, but I appreciate is straight to the point manner as it resulted in a quick and informative visit.

Nice location, easy parking, and overall a cool bike shop . Carries some nice bike stuff thats made in USA! Support America, and support your local bike shop. Ive had excellent experience with this shop. They also have some sweet Santa cruz and Specialized bikes for you to slobber on while you visit

My daughter bought me my mountain bike from Costco and after riding for a couple months, I lookup a local Bicycle shop to have my bike tuned up and ran across Bicycle Garage, have to say great employees and they didn’t mind that I didn’t purchase my bike from them, there professional knowledge help me upgrade my bike and get it ready for a two state road trip! Awesome staff and highly recommend and support local businesses

After reading these reviews I feel compelled to comment. These are great people, they provide excellent service and they have saved me a lot of money over the years. I feel well treated always and am very impressed by their work. Disregard any comment less than a three made here. Sometimes people get busy. If you dont do business here, you are the one missing out.

After 4,000 miles I took my 2003 Trek Navigator 100 into The Bicycle Garage for an overhaul and could not have had a better experience. The able men of this shop advised me of the work required to restore my bicycle to a new like mechanical condition and completed the task in a skillful manner to my full satisfaction. As an older-and-amature rider I had never worn out a bicycle before. I never realized how much stretched chain and worn sprockets could slow a rider down until after I picked up my Trek from The Bicycle Garage and rode to the bay on the Alameda Trail. Boy, what a wonderful difference. At the shop I never received any sales pressure and the price was very reasonable to boot. Jeff

The Bicycle Garage is the best bike shop in the Bay Area. They have ever kind of bike you could think of. And some that you have never seen. They even have electric bikes. They are knowledgeable friendly courtious and there to help you with all your bike needs. Check them out.

This place is extremely busy or extremely understaffed. Ive tried to take my bike there for a simple derailleur adjustment and they told me Id have to make an appointment a week in advance. Another time I dropped of a bike for service but they did not complete the job before the end of the day. Had bike since 1030AM and not finished by 530 for a brake bleed job.There are so many good local bike shops to support. Dont bother with this one.

Fred runs amok with his condescending attitude, odious personality and his ability to BS customers into getting things fixed that arent broken. I couldnt believe the unscrupulous service I received here.

Best selection of gear in Fremont. If you purchase your bike from them you get lifetime tuneups. The only downside is a long wait to actually get your bike in.

I am going to try The Bicycle Garage as Centripedal told me my derailleur was fine after I told them it was giving me problems and today I took my mountain bike out for the first time since I went to Centripedal and a half mile into the ride the derailleur broke into pieces.

This was my first experience buying a bike for myself and while Im sure the services provided were sufficient I was hoping for a more guided approach to fitting. Instead I felt like the whole process was rushed and Im not even sure if the bike I bought is actually a good size for me.Despite being unsure of the fit Ive been enjoying what I bought for about a month now with semi-regular use. I was told to schedule my first free tune-up three weeks after purchasing, so I did. Got it tuned but on the way home (I rode my bike there) was dismayed to find my lower gears slipping constantly. Now Im teaching myself how to tune my bike so I can use it again.Unfortunately given these separate experiences I can only recommend this establishment as a place to buy a bike, nothing more. Dont make my mistake and expect anything more than the minimum level of customer service during your purchase and avoid their tune-ups if possible.

Giving this place 2 stars just because they have a good selection of (specialized) stuff. Otherwise, whenever I usually come here none of the employees want to offer their help. Cycling is a very niche sport, so if you do not know much about bikes, the staff can be condescending or not want to help you.I also want to note that I have been here many times. I even ordered a bike through this shop once (2 years ago) and it took a very long time for me to get it. A series of miscommunications led to them having my bike at the shop for over a week but they did not have it in their system so when I went to call/check they said they didn’t have it, even though it was sitting in the shop for a couple weeks.To sum it up, if you know what you need for your bike already and don’t need help, this place is a good spot to get it. Otherwise if you need help, just go to a different bike shop.The bicycle garage is closer to my house, but I drive the extra distance to go to Centripedal on Thornton, since they are much more friendly and want to help you.

A great local bike shop. Theyve really started carrying a little bit of everything, not just road, hybrid/commute, and mountain bikes, but also less common stuff like recumbent trikes (Catrike) and cargo bikes. My wife has been taking her bikes here for at several years, the first time to bring one back from the dead -- it hadnt been ridden in many years (and two moves) and needed a lot of help. It was a mountain bike she wanted to start using as a commute bike, and they did a great job of keeping that almost 20 year old bike going. More recently I took my equally neglected bike in to be revived and they were great about calling when they encountered something unexpected to see if I wanted then to fix it or ignore it. They also fixed a problem Id been having with the bike years ago and completely forgot. Weve both since bought new bikes there. Great local store.

Been going to BG since the store the first store on fremont blvd. Great shop lots of knowledge and willingness to help. The packed a bike for me so it could be shipped to me in North Carolina when I was in the Marines. Been a customer this long and dont plan on changing any time soon.
