They have the best Christmas trees you can find . Better than most garden centers within a 15 mile radius. I have been a frequent customer for many years. The plants are healthy. The selection is good for common plants and they have some unusual ones also. The aisles are clean, though can feel cramped when the store is busy. They always have plenty of check-out lanes open with associates who are knowledgeable, and this makes Alsip Home & Nursery a much better choice that most big box retailers. I think they should have a sign for directing customers to the outdoor pickup area (for some of the larger items). And I wish they had a better selection of unusual spring flowers. If you’re looking for a vast selection of normal stuff, this is a great place to buy your plants.

It has been years since I visited and now I remember why. I walked in without grabbing a cart thinking I would be okay. Nope. 5 minutes later I was filling it. The plants are healthy, the atmosphere is soothing and the gentleman that helped me in regards to the ever so popular Monstera Albo was very informative. My wallet will not appreciate it but Ill be going back soon!

First time here and it is amazing. The place is huge you can get anything here indoor plants outdoor plants trees stuff for maintaining your lawn water fountains even can buy pets here believe it or not. The staff is all very friendly and they dont bother you like other stores they let you look. Prices are a little expensive but cant complain.

WOW!!!! what a place for me as a catepillar 😯 they had worms like me in jars and so many nice signs and even on that encouraged me to fly like a butterfly even though i won’t be able to sadly. They had a bunny and a huge turtle and yeah and

Prices are far and theres plenty of parking. They also have a very large selection of plants and trees as well as flowers of all kinds. Be ready to fill up your cart!

I love this place oooh yes I do! What i love most is they have a section where you can adopt a pets. My husband and I adopted a pet a while ago and it was the prettiest little dog ever. I enjoy every minute with him and cuddle him all the time. When or if i decide to get another pet, I would definitely give them a try first. Alsip home and nursery prices are not bad at all, in fact it was very affordable. I was fortunate enough to where my pet didn’t come with any diseases. I felt like they were trust worthy and very upfront. If you’re planning on getting a pet you should come ready to pay in full because they will not hold the pets for you. It’s more of a first come first serve basis!

I think this is a nice store, but I will never buy annual flowers from here again. We bought some full sun annuals and have them on a lovely sunny spot but they are sill withering away. We water them in the evening as our sprinklers water them in the morning. Slowly each of them have died. Will be back for other items and decor. But will not buy plants. Other stores offer more assistance with their annuals.

Fantastic as usual. Was looking for some miniature plants... Found a few, but expected more.

We went to Alsip knowing that we had purchased nicer flowers there that are a little more expensive. Cece, helped us pick out flowers and plants. We have been maintaining the for less than 30 days and now they are all DYING on us. I called the story repeatedly and left voicemails but got no response. My husband went to the store with our receipt and pictures of the dead things. They have NO GUARANTEE even though all the items are from Proven Winner. And the people in the customer service treated him horribly. We are going back to Home Depot for our garden and lawn needs. What a waste of money!!!

Everytime I go I wonder why I went. The customer service is never great. Prices are rather high. Today I asked what the additional dale was off of the clearance section and she told me she wasn’t sure and that I’d have to go ask at the registers. I said so you want me to go all the way upfront to ask to go back there to shop? And she “yes.” As an employee I would expect her to either know the answer, or find out the answer for the customer. This was my last time giving alsip nursery a shot. I’ll shop at other nurseries in the future from here on out.

This place has the most amazing amount of plants in the area! They literally have everything you can imagine for your garden (indoor and out). I wasn’t able to check out the whole store-there are pet supplies and aquatic plants, too- but found a few wishlist plants that I couldn’t find any where else. Prices are pretty comparable to other nurseries/big box stores. I’m already looking forward to going back!

I dont normally write reviews of places I havent been to, but in this instance its clearly justified. A good friend of mine went to take their dog groomed here, and noticed something strange when they returned to pick them up. A man was walking out with what appeared to be their dog, and when said friend called out the dogs name, the dog freaked out. It was their dog, and my friend confronted the man who explained he had poor eyesight. Their excuse for their mistake? The person who checked them in was on lunchbreak. This level of incompetence should not only be inexcusable, it should be punished with the firing of said employee. This is not the kind of mistake that is acceptable to make, this is not I forgot your senior discount. This was a business nearly giving away someones dog.

Such a big selection of flowers, trees and shrubs. I was able to get a nice variety of flowers for my front yard. I will definitely be going back in the future.

I love going through this wonderland of a store. It covers so many unique purchases as well as animal adoptions. What a great place to find unique gifts for holidays. The store is always clean with clearly marked prices. Bathrooms are modern and clean. The staff are pretty nice but not overly helpful, some stores are and that can be annoying. But at Alsip they are just helpful enough where youre not scared off. I know many people who have fun shopping here. Highly recommend.

Incredible! Must go and must see! My 1st visit and I went with my husband and 2 kids, 7yo & 3yo and they have something for everyone. Priced a little high but you can find something within budget. The staff could have been more friendly but the store saved this vote, I was truly blown away at the selection in every department. The staff werent mean. They just werent welcoming but a 1 stop shop in my opinion.

Went here for the first time last week. I was actually just looking for a nursery that carried DA roses closest to our home. I had no clue the plentiful nursery I was about to feast my eyes upon. I took a stroll through the whole store before getting to the plant area. What a vast selection of goods! Be careful...hahaha youll wind up spending far more than intended. Im a crazy bird person and would like to note the avian selection is fantastic! Your holiday decor is outstanding. Im wild about this place. The staff was polite and helpful. The plant variety is wonderful...its really worth a trip even if its a bit of a drive.

While they get some unique house plants in stock, they are infested with fungus gnats and mealy bugs. I only go there to look because the plants I did purchase were so infested i had to throw them away!

I regret the many years I spent buying my frogs food at big box pet stores. Alsips selection of pet products are far higher quality than anywhere else, and so much cheaper! We recently adopted a dog as well, and Ill never get her food and toys anywhere else either.

Animals live in inadequate environments. The African tortoise is down right abused and mistreated. Its very sad, emotionally disturbing enough to prompt me to never return.

While I’m glad they finally adopt out puppies instead of selling them it is still disturbing that they’re kept in small glass cages with very little room to move around—which is very similar to traditional pet stores unfortunately. You’d think they’d make the extra effort to move them to the larger pens on the ground that are empty unless they hold an adoption event. Poor dogs.

Be prepared for incredibly awful customer service and/or responsiveness to online orders. Originally told online order would be ready next day, but they are experiencing a high volume. Not a problem. 2 days go by without any email update. I call back, and I am now told they would hopefully be ready by end of the week (another 3 days). End of the week comes and goes without any email or call update, so I call the following Monday. After being accidentally hung up on, connected to wrong person, etc. Im finally told they hope to have it ready in 5-7 days. Unacceptable. I get it, if items may be sold out, back-ordered, in-transit, etc. but someone has to communicate that better to customers and offer solutions.

I always like the look of their plants, particularly their New Guinea impatiens and large hanging baskets this spring which look even better today (months later). The young lady told me that they (hanging baskets) would work in a planter and boy did they. She told me to use Jacks Petunia Feed daily and I did and I’m very happy with the results. I use it on all my pots and all my pots look amazing compared to anything achieved in the past. So I’m a fan of Alsip Nursery and will not hesitate to shop there again. Great advise! Great flowers!

People who work there are very informative. I got what I needed for my Christmas cactus.

I purchased 8 plants because my Gardner told me to and no one at the store told me I couldnt return the plants if I didn’t use all of them so now I stuck with two plants I dnt need. Won’t be buying plants from here again. I usually go to Touch of green and will definitely be going back there. They will let you return or exchange.

I love visiting Alsip Nursery! It is very easy to navigate throughout the store. They do a great job changing out their goods based on the season, have a beautiful/thriving selection of plants, and the animals there are also well taken care of. I always choose to round up my purchase to the nearest whole $ to donate to the store.

If you love your pets, DO NOT bring them to be groomed here! This is the second incident with this place! First time they cut one of our dogs and did not even have tell us that they did it! When we called about it, it was then that they told us about it. The dog ended up with an infection! We decided to give them another chance and this time our dogs got kennel cough! They have been very sick and Ive had to have their medication filled twice now! Still not feeling better! When we called because we had a vet bill for over 450.00. They did not care at all! Did not take responsibility. Our dogs were no where near any other dogs and we DO NOT board our dogs! If you LOVE your pet, DO NOT take them here!!!!! This forced me to give them one star! I would not give them any!

Big and beautiful but could use more signs to point people in the right direction in the flower department..almost overwhelming

Our family went into adopt a kitten on Sunday , filled out an application and left with hopes of adding a new member to our family. After no one responding to several calls we returned just to have our hearts broken to hear they denied our application. Not only could they have told me this over the phone no one even bothered to offer a better explanation then they just dont think its good fit right now. We are good people with a good home. We have had pets our entire lives and love animals. This just saddens me that they wouldnt want one of those cute little guys to get his forever home. Not to mention their customer service is very poor and lacking.

Very helpful, but was my first trip there. Sale prices beat the larger big box home maintenance stores.

I used to love shopping at Alsip. Ive probably spent well over $15,000 here in the last decade. However, the last few times I was in the store were absolutely terrible. For starters, it is honestly a headache to shop here, especially first thing in the morning before the animal rescue volunteers get in. These dogs are barking incessantly for minutes on end. I was there 45 minutes my last visit and it felt like I was there for six hours my head hurt so bad when I left. They used to sell animals here years ago before the rescue came in and this business cared for the dogs much better than Cache Creek does their animals, because my shopping experience was never affected before Cache Creek came in. Not to mention, be careful with bringing your dogs here as there have been many dogs in Cache Creek literally infested with fleas. I understand renting out the space for extra income, however, perhaps some research should have been done beforehand to make sure you were allowing a quality rescue into an establishment that would not negatively impact your customers shopping experience. It is clear that Cache Creek does not follow the policies or the standards of a rescue. Flea infestation, neglecting dogs that were adopted being rehomed without permission, and leaving the animals without care for so long are just a few things they fall short in. You should be more embarrassed of allowing Cache Creek to fraudulently operate on your grounds than puppy mill dogs.On top of the awful experience shopping with the sounds of cries and howls of neglected animals, the employees working in customer service are far from kind or educated in their role. I was told I couldnt use my reward because they needed a printed version. The reward does not state this anywhere and I live an hour away. I asked if they could print it and they said no. So I had to return everything I intended to purchase, go home, and print the reward. Upon returning, the employees said they couldnt use the printed reward yet again after sending me home to print it! I ended up being able to use my reward but the hoops I had to jump through took all of the joy of a reward away.Very disappointed with how Alsip has deteriorated in quality over the years. Not sure if Ill be back. Also after initially posting this review, I went back to see what others were saying and it appears as if they have had complaints about the treatment to customers by their employees for years and they clearly have not addressed this as it is still happening daily. I worked at McDonalds in high school which is much more unpleasant than here and not a single employee had an attitude even comparable to one of the workers at Alsip.

There were a lot of items missing or unavailable that are usually in abundance. The staff were as helpful as possible in this instance, as they always are; so was the outdoor staff, i.e. bags of soil.
