We called Fort Wayne Awning on June 5th and set up our appointment to have a new canvas enclosure made for our boat (28 cruiser). It took that long, because they were so busy. We looked around at several other places, locally, as well as Ohio and even Michigan and as far south as Indianapolis, but ended up settling on Fort Wayne Awning, because they are close to us, they had the earliest availability to do the work, and weve heard good things about their pricing and quality. We were scheduled to drop it off on Monday, August 3rd. Fortunately I called them to see if I could drop it off Saturday, August 1st, as I had an unexpected issue come up that would have made it impossible to drop it on Monday. In talking with the receptionist, long story short, she said she had a different name down for the week of the 3rd, and that they were booked solid for the rest of the year... well, so is everyone else who does boat enclosures right now. Not sure where they screwed up, but apparently our appointment didnt get recorded. We were excited to finally get our canvas done, so we could finally put our boat in our marina slip - that we paid $1500 for the season, and finally get to enjoy it, even if it was only going to be a few weeks. Now, the season is completely wasted. We wasted our time and money in trusting Fort Wayne Awning. Getting boat canvas done for a larger boat is something that has to be scheduled literally months in advance. You put your trust in them to have you on their books when the appointment date arrives. Its so upsetting and disappointing when youre finally a couple days away, and suddenly you find out they never actually put you on their books, but rather gave your spot away to someone else who you know called sometime after you.Fort Wayne Awning may do good work, but their record keeping is apparently a disaster! Keep that in mind when you have to set up an appointment with them, months in advance. Keep in mind also, that they were not willing to offer any kind of fix for it, like squeezing us in, or offering to reschedule at a later date with a discount for our inconvenience. To me, thats a mark of bad business practices.Now were back to square one, trying to find someone to do the enclosure. Id have loved Fort Wayne Awning to have done it, but I simply cant trust them now. Dont want to go through this again!

I just purchased a boat that had a cover with some missing snaps/buttons. I called a competitor and they said there was no way they could do the work, they were to busy. I found Fort Wayne awning online and called them. Ken answered and said they were also busy but if I brought it in, he would fix it while I waited. Two days later I brought the boat over and he fixed it in about 5 minutes. I asked what I owed and he insisted I didn’t owe anything. He gave me a estimate for a new cover because my current one still isn’t in the best condition. Thank you Ken and Fort Wayne Awning!
