I would give them extra stars if I could. The staff is courteous and professional. I thought I might need new brakes and then my check engine light came on. Shawn called me to let me know that my brakes were ok. The repair for the check engine light was a quick fix and affordable. He even contacted the warranty company. I appreciate the service that I receive whenever I take my car in.

Ive used Berger for oil changes several time lately. They recently went to an appointment or drop off system. I was fortunate to be able to get an appointment the same day I needed one. I had gone there for the convenience of not having to make an appointment. Other than that, nothing special.

Oil change and general inspection appointment went as scheduled. However the let down was that the tech said I had to go to GM to reset the oil change light.... strange as they were able to do this last time. After a 1 minute Google search I did it myself.... Wonder why the tech couldnt do the same....questioning their knowledge and quality of work at this point....

You can buy your own part an they will put it on for you... They do a excellent job....Try them out will save you a lots of money 💰

Great service and got things done in a timely fashion.

My brakes went out in my Chevy cobalt and I had such a struggle finding someone who was able to fix them for me, thinking it was a quick easy fix. When my dad tried (and failed), and with my grandpa being an hour away - I felt absolutely hopeless! I called a few repair shops and Berger’s was very reasonable and understanding, so I took my car to Berger’s! Like I said, I thought it would be a quick and easy fix, but when they started working on my car, the mechanic, named Sean, told me that my brake lines were out! I felt hopeless again, because I had just lost my job and spent the last of what I had on the parts to fix my car! Sean was extremely helpful, and very understanding! He took my price down by like $50 dollars and let me keep my car in the lot until I had the money together, no extra charge! I am completely satisfied and sooo happy that my car is fixed and back to its normal running self! Thank you so so so much Berger’s for helping me! I will for sure be going back if my car has anymore issues! :)

I was told by another shop I needed a new AC compressor. Berger did a diagnostic test and turns out I just needed a recharge. Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars!

For YEARS my family has used Berger Auto for oil changes etc. ALWAYS paying for their BEST oil change which includes fluid top off. We’ve had a car ten years, with every oil change being at Berger Auto, the POWER STEERING FLUID IS OUT! Trust is OUT the door!

My mom lives right down the street from this shop and her and I have used this shops services since I first started driving if we have not been able to work on the vehicles ourselves! They have free air while open for filling up your tires and which I use quite often as long as I can get there and need air, which I hate paying for. The woman at the front desk was even able to give me a spare one of the tire air valve plugs/screws to keep the air in since I had lost one at some point.

I put a brand new starter on it but it wouldn’t turn over because engine was locked up. I called and they said 30$ to diagnose the wiring. They call me back and say I need to drive there and take the starter back to AutoZone to test it bcuz they don’t understand how electricity works.... I drive all the way out there they say to me, “never mind the engines locked up but we removed the brand new starter anyways, that’ll be $90....”. Worst experience ever. They are a tire/ break shop. NOT mechanics!!!

Ive only had positive experiences at Berger on St Joe. The staff here has had both my car and my truck (both manual transmissions) for servicing, and usually with non-standard or critical repairs (not just an oil change). They have hunted down parts for my older vehicles, and delivered with the time that they promised to have the repairs done. Jason, in the service center, recently worked with his mechanic to help me to avoid a costly catalytic converter repair by finding a mechanical workaround that will be a fraction of the cost. Im pleased with the work they do, the personal service they provide (status updates and courtesy shuttles), and the repair cost. I travel from southwest Fort Wayne to get my repair work done here - because I trust Berger!

Oh my goodness! I couldnt have asked for a better place to get, not only my cat fix but every single person that helped me was amazing! Jason, Leslie, Debi, Adam, Steve, Jeremy, Dan, Brad, and Adam the General Manager every single one of them helped me after my car slid off the road and into a guard rail. They pulled me off the guard rail, checked the under carriage, took pictures for the insurance company, found me two used tires, and did an alignment . I will be back and would highly recommend this auto shop. Not only do they have the skills and expertise but their hearts and caring show through. There are still good people in this world and there are a bunch of them at Berger Auto on St Joe Road.

I take my car here for all of its preventative maintenance. Its a busy place so there can be a bit of a wait depending on the time of day that you go, but they do good work. Most of the mechanics have been here for years and are trustworthy. They will never try to sell you something you dont need.

My friend, who is very unfamiliar with car repair, brought her car here two months ago for service. Her vehicle was leaking power steering fluid, and was in need of repair. When we went to pick up the vehicle, she was told she also needed an additional $1100 worth of parts and service to replace the catalytic converter (check engine light was never on, so seemed shady). The vehicle was taken to another shop for a second opinion which revealed that there was no engine codes for any emission problems. I feel this shop tried to take advantage of the situation, instead of focusing on providing quality service. The check engine light is still not on 2 month later, with no repairs 👎.

Took my car into this place to get an alignment done and when I took it home it was still pulling. I figured something must be bent on the car and I called to ask about why it was still pulling, the guy said they did the alignment but offered no reason out possibility as to why it was still pulling. Most alignment places will tell you if it needs more than an alignment before they do it.So I kept driving the car until I finally took it in to have everything inspected and the second place says its just a bad alignment. Top it off they say they can fix it right then and for 10$ cheaper than this place. Find somewhere else, I strongly recommend it.

3 times to get exhaust fixed in 7 months $1300.00 a pop. They dont know what they are doing or dont care.

I called Berger auto yesterday morning because my rear tire was making a concerning noise, and they got me in that morning to see what was wrong, then ordered all the parts and fixed it that that afternoon for a very fair price! They took time to explain everything to me several times and did an excellent job fixing it! Their shuttle was also a nice bonus and I highly recommend them, Jason in particular was very helpful!

Went into Berger’s today in need of an oil change and possibly a new tire. They quickly got to my vehicle and called with an estimate ASAP. They worked with me above and beyond what I could have ever asked of them!! I’m walking away today with a tire, an oil change, an estimate for future work, and my faith in auto shops restored. I will NEVER take my car anywhere else!!

I have a car that has been giving me fits. Took it to them for an estimate for repairs--well, that didnt work out so well, because my car is, how shall I say, ready for the scrap yard, which I figured before hand. Even still, they went through it and they did break everything down for me all that was wrong and what it would take to fix it. Im confident that they went through everything because several things that they put in their diagnostic summary are things I already knew about but hadnt told them. $85 for the full diagnostic and I believe $25 for the coolant system pressure test, which isnt bad. Since my car is a hopeless case, I cant speak on their repairs at this point but they came highly recommended so I will take the used car I just purchased to them in the future. Nice staff and they have a courtesy shuttle to take you wherever you need to go while the work is being done. Seems legit!Update: I have since had several repairs done between my latest car and my daughters car and had a new set of tires put on my car. They gave me a fair price for everything Ive had done and all their work has turned out to be done well. Definitely going to keep using them!

If I could give negative stars I would, my truck is worse than when I brought it in. I dropped my vehicle off at 8:30 am, they assured me it would be done by noon. I called at 2:30 pm when I still hadnt heard anything & clerks treated me like I was harassing them.Called again at 5 pm because I still hadnt heard anything and they said they werent able to get to my vehicle today despite being told there were only two vehicles ahead of mine.I missed an entire day of work, didnt get my truck back until the next day, and there was another sensors going off when I picked it up. Asked the service department about the other sensor and he tried to tell me the sensor was on when I brought the truck in.Bottom line I will never take any vehicle to these people again for anything more than an oil change, nor would I feel comfortable recommending them to anyone.

I thought this place was a trustworthy great car repair shop until when I got my car back it had obviously been gone through. I was missing things including my cars lug nut remover which I ended up paying 60$ to replace. They even stole gum, left the packet out and the wrappers out. Most recently I took my car to get the Best Value Oil Change. They claimed to have filled my tires with air to 35 lbs. But when I recieved my car the tires were obviously not filled at all. I had to bring back my car the next day and the guy said my tires were at 25 and one tire was even at 15.Makes me wonder if anything else I paid for at this place was even actually done like they said... I know i will never be coming back and will find a new shop to go to.

There are other options, I highly suggest looking elsewhere. I wish I had stopped using Berger Auto years ago. Sub par service, especially in the last year. Even worse repairs, resulting in no change to what I had asked them to fix, or causing further damage to my vehicles. And in the end, theyll deny even having you as a customer (see their reply below). You can, without a doubt, find better.

This is the best place in town to get an oil change! Ive had it changed at both locations. The staff is very friendly and understanding and the service they do is tremendous. Highly recommend it to anyone new or familiar with the area.

Been going here for years and really noticed a drop in quality the last few years. Last week spent $1,200 on repairs and vehicle exhibiting the same exact symptoms. Requested a refund and got absolutely nothing. Suggest you explore other options as this is about the 3rd time Ive had repairs for the same problem to re-occur within 12 months. My business is going elsewhere in the future.

My husband was on his way home from work when his work van started overheating. Pulled into Berger Auto just as they were closing. Two workers found his radiator hose clip loosened and caused the hose to come off which leaked all the fluid. They reattached it for him and gave him water to get him on his way. Didnt charge anything for their time.

So helpful and friendly. Nice to have somewhere you can take your car and feel like they arent scamming you on repairs. This is the only place i will take my cars.

Front desk staff is very direct and honest. With all of the crooks out there who lie to you about certain aspects, this is much appreciated. I would be hard pressed to find lower prices elsewhere. The office works are two face. The only honest people are the ones that actually work on your car. The office guys are rude and doesnt know what they are talking about . Stay away go to Travis auto . They will treat you better.

Paid $32 for the best value package, which includes a quick vacuum, window cleaning, and fluid checks. After I left the shop I went home and checked my oil to see if it had actually been changed because none of the best value features were done. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere

UPDATE AT BOTTOM)Had work truck for two days to fix E Brakes. 24hours after picking up the the truck, Ive got no Ebrakes.They charged me $1,180.00 bucks to have a worse ebrake then when I dropped it off.Stopped in and they couldnt make time for it. Now Ill have to loose more work by taking it back in there, not to mention waiting around for them to fix it again.Was hoping I found a good place to work on my personal and business vehicles.. this isnt the place.(UPDATE)The manager reached out to me and offered to fix (free of charge) whatever was missed.Turns out that the E-brake cables were stretched and needed replacement.(Should have been checked)Very impressed that he reached out, and was willing to overlook the mistake because were all human.The E-brakes still wont hold the truck on even the slightest incline.I dont care what the problem is, or how much it costs to fix, I just wanted it fixed.Wont be back for the 3rd time even if they paid me.

I have been going to Berger Auto for years and love their quick service and free shuttle.I recently had an issue with a 2 day old tire repair that failed which resulted in damage to the rim and a destroyed tire. At first they did not want to help fix the problem assuming that I hit something, but to their credit they took care of the tire by replacing it under warranty. I was okay with paying for part of the damage and understand its is hard to diagnose rubber issues sometimes. Overall, they are pleasant to deal with and a great place to go for any car repair.

Ive come to call Berger home, for all my auto service needs! Fast & accurate oil changes all the way to complicated repairs. Just recently I brought my SUV in thinking I had a water pump leak. They saved me time and money by determining it was a simple hose leak. They are very skilled at what they do, and most importantly- HONEST! Youve earned a lifetime customer in me and my family! I dropped my acadia off, because my air conditioning went out, and my heat was also not working on the front passenger vents. I was called and told that all that was needed was freon added. They said once they did, the air worked fine. They also said that they ran the heat and that work fine as well, and they believe it was a fluke. I paid the bill over the phone and picked it up the next day after they were closed. Get in my vehicle, start it, turn on my air, and it isnt working. It performed just as it did when I dropped it off. I turned the heat on, and what do you know? Heat is not working on the passenger vents. $135 for absolutely nothing. Terrible. Will never return.

Absolutely HORRIBLE night staff. Theres 5 inches of snow. Came in to grab drinks and snacks for long trip ahead 10 minutes before close. Was DENIED service unless I needed cigarettes?! Seriously what kind of non sense is that. Had to travel out of my way in a blizzard ! Im a out of town regular we WAS a regular. Lost my business. Never again. Making sure my college student I visit tells everyone. Maybe if I took up smoking I could have gotten what we needed for the road. Ive worked customer service my whole life and I have never turned away someone in need. Never. Ashamed for them.

It took them an hour and half to do my oil change!! I called before i left (i live right down the road) to see how long the wait was for an oil change. The lady told me there was no wait. So i drove there. At least 3 mechanics were standing around talking and doing nothing. Highly disappointed and will not be back.

Scroll down for short review.Long story:Where to start.... alright so I brought my car to these guys. I needed to have a wheel alignment done and have them check out an engine light that was on. They called me up and guaranteed they could get it done in a day. I said alright and brought it over to them since they seemed friendly and nice. They had the wheel alignment done but they wanted to keep the car overnight to diagnose the intake manifold. I said alright. So next day I called them up at 9 AM and asked them about progress and the guy said they were pulling the car up to to diagnose. So I waited and called them again around 10 and strangely enough the guy gave me the same answer that were still “looking” into it and they would call me as soon as they found anything out. Fair enough. So I waited the whole day for a call back. Nothing. So by 3:30 I was starting to wonder what’a going on so I called them and they said we have diagnosed the situation (about time and why do I have to call to find out any information.....) they would have to replace the manifold for addition $850 along with $80 for wheel alignment, another $80 for to check engine light, and $200 to take a look at the manifold ($400 already). I decided not to do the $850 and I asked if he could put the old manifold on top and I’ll come pick up the car today. He said uh I think I can do it today. I asked him again if he could get it done by the end of the day. He said I’ll try my best but if Not today definitely Saturday morning. He also said he would call me any updates. By now I was bit irritated that I might have to wait but I said alright. An hour later I called them asking on updates and he gave me the same excuse that were pulling up the care and that they start working on it. He also assured me he would call me at 4:50 to 5 for any updates. Guess what happened? They did not call. You guys have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. So I went over there in person and walked up the lady and said I’m here for my Ford Fusion. She looked at me awkward and went looking for the guy and they guy got all the papers and said that my car was done. Huh kinda amazing how my car is now magically done when I appear in person. She said a mechanic would drive my car in front so we went outside to wait at 5:05. 10 minutes there I was still waiting with my buddy and I went inside again to ask where my car was. She said he was coming........ so I went outside again and waited. Another 10 minutes went by. It doesn’t take 20 minutes drive a car from the back to the front. What is wrong with you guys? I had a terrible experience here. They finally brought my car. Smells like grease alright. But you know what, that wheel alignment they did made my car worse now! It’s now drifting way more to the right..... thanks a lot!In short:Your prices are expensive. Alright.Your customer service is horrible. Absolutely horrendous . Like don’t tell me you are bringing my car into the shop to fix it three times in a row. Makes me wonder if you guys are lying and just stalling.I will not be returning and I do not recommend this place. Don’t waste your time here. Dropped car off Saturday 4/22 to get oil changed. Said theyd call when done for me to pick it up. Well we realized at 5pm Saturday they never called. So I now dont have a car til at least Monday when they open because theyre closed and they still have my keys.Seriously how do you run a business link that?Ohhhh and to top it off Im from Indy so I either have to find a car for the week and come back Friday or call into work on Monday so I can get my car. Absolutely ridiculous!

I inherited a used 05 Nissan Altima years ago, and it was in bad shape. We had Berger do a thorough inspection to get it to the point where it was safe to drive, and they did, all while being very upfront with the cost, which was reasonable for how much work they had to do.Ive had this car since 2009. It has aged and developed several issues that cars develop as they age, including those expected with with 2005s Altimas (i.e. burning through oil quickly). Every single time Ive dropped my car off, Berger has been upfront on the preliminary cost and even potential origins of the issues. Once they did their inspections, they were also very upfront about the costs of everything, which, again, have been reasonable.Couldnt be happier with the honesty, hard work, and timeliness of these guys. Shout-out to Allison and Adam, who have helped me so many times and been wonderful and professional. :)

I dropped a truck off at Bergers with a long laundry list of problems on a Monday evening. Glen got back to me the next day at 11:00 a.m. and again at 3:00 with a great bit of counsel on what could and should be done. By the end of that very day, all the problems were resolved and truck fixed - oxygen sensor, struts, oil leak and leaky window. Thank you, Glen. You guys are great.

This people take care of cars as a joke. Ive been going here for some years now and never had a problem until now that they flash my transmission. It was just three months after that I need a regular oil chainge when they told me tha my transmission fluid needed to be change because it was dirty. Really?

Not a good experience. I took my truck to the St. Joe Rd. location. I had some rattling in the front end. After over $500 in front end repairs and front end alignment, I picked up my truck and took it on a business trip to Evansville. Rattling was still there and my truck pulled to the right which it did not do before. Took it back and they stated , after further investigation, my truck needed even more front work, like $630 in additional repairs worth. But they will realign for free....Too bad because we just moved here and we were looking for a reliable auto repair shop to take family and company vehicles to. It won`t be this one.

They charged for service they did not perform. They didnt check thier work. They were to fix the heater, when I got my car back it had NO heat. Had to take it back. This all started with a brake job and an oil change.

My experience or experiences at Berger auto have left me rather disappointed. New to the neighborhood I assumed good things about Berger Auto as they have more than doubled their capacity as they continue to grow. Must be doing something right I thought. First time I went there was a routine oil change, normally I go to the GM dealer but I was in a pinch and went here. After they told me it was done and I went to pay, it was much higher than what we agreed on. They told me it takes the higher priced dexo GM oil. I replied no it doesnt. They replied with yes it does as they checked and that is what is in it so that is what you have to pay. I normally go to the GM dealer and they never have put dexo oil in it. Not sure where they checked but are they calling GM a liar? Rather upset I didnt want to say something mean so I paid and left. Second time was for a timing belt replacement. Still unhappy with the first time I believe in second chances. I was there several times (3) in the couple days it took to repair the car. Never got any solid answers and then when I went to pick up car I was told the coupon wouldnt work because they had some non sense answers. I paid and left. I tried to give them a chance to make it right and I will never be back. They might be able to win over some customers but they for sure lost one with me. Besides the 2 service advisors I dealt with, Becky at the front desk needs a class in customer service, rather unpleasant.

Cheap oil changes and good car repairs.

This is for the Berger on Diabold. Took my car in to have the gas pump replaced. I had already diagnosed the problem. I was told the sending unit also needed to be replaced. I was told $1100. I called another shop I had done business with and was told $1400 so I thought $1100 wasnt bad. I did some research and found that the pump is $199 and the sending unit is $249. When I picked up my car I was charged $300/pump, $350/sending unit. I told the assistant( the manager had left for the day) what the pump and sending unit where listed for on NAPAs web site and asked where they got their parts from. He gave me no answer. I asked why they where charging $100 a piece over what NAPA wanted for the same parts and all he did was shrug his shoulders. I will never again do business with Berger. I would not recomend them to anyone.
