This store has what the other chains do but scaled down. Has a feel of the old stile hardware store. Friendly customer service that many stores now lack. Check it out, I think youll be pleasantly surprised.

Gavins Ace Hardware has been a cornerstone of the community for decades, and is THE place to go for any hardware needs. They always have exactly what you need for projects around the house, and their staff is extremely knowledgeable and can help you with any questions you have. They also are active in the community, and support many charities and youth organizations - including my Boy Scout troop back when I was a kid. On top of ALL THAT, their prices are very competitive.My only complaint is their hours - I wish they were open a bit later. But Im sure their staff appreciate getting home at a reasonable hour, so I just have to remember to get there before they close.Overall, six stars. Ace really is THE PLACE.

This is a great hardware! From crab traps, lawn tools and everything else a hardware should gave and helpful staff are everywhere. If they don’t have what you are looking for you probably don’t need it.

Dont order online and expect to pick up in store. I put a order in online. I ended up going to store about 1hr later. I drove about 45min to this store because no one else had this item. Went to desk to ask about order. They didnt have it yet. I waited for them to get print out. Then they couldnt find item ordered. The manager looked for item also. Very rude person. To sum up blamed me for showing up before email confirmation and their stock was off. I also herd him tell one of the employees to walk away he was taking care of it when looking for item.. I question about the refund and he just walked away all mad. The employees helping me radio him and questioned him what I needed to do. No answer in return. Never have I been treated this way from a store manager. The 2 Employees were great to me and felt bad I was treated this way. I will never shop at that store again only because of that manager.

They have a wonderful selection with pretty much everything there You would need for home improvement. The staff is wonderful as well.

I was at locations with an elderly person who needed mobile assistance to move around the store and the workers was nice enough to bring him a wheelchair, that was a kool move.

The selection here is huge. We bought me three excellent summer vented fishing shirts here and they had some flamingo umbrellas. I just had to buy one for my with.They refill propanes tanks here and we bought a new tank and had it filled also. There was no mask rule in place here, I was okay with that, and the store is well staffed and the employees are very pleasant and helpful

This place is great! You get personal service here and unlike the big box stores and the staff at Gavin’s Ace are really helpful. I purchased a Webber grill here they assembled it for me and delivered it for free. They have everything here!

First of all, I love Ace Hardware stores for the variety of product they offer; but, Gavins Ace stocks a great assortment of bbq accessories on hand. Saw some Green Mountain Grill pellet smokers (this is in addition to the standard Traeger, Big Green Egg and Weber products)...plenty of B&B and Blues Hog products as well (which I use all the time). Very impressed with readily available items.

Love to go to Gavins there are English speaking older gentlemen almost on every aisle that help you with any project and answer as many questions as you can possibly imagine. If I dont know the names of things I just take pictures of what I need to work with at my house and they are so helpful this is my favorite hardware store

Great hardware store. Larger than many. Its nice to get service that you cant get at big box stores. They have a great selection of items, including craftsman tools. A better selection of nuts bolts etc in standard AND metric. Try them, I think youll like them.

I waited and waited to post this review. After the 20th time I’ve gone here, looking for help, Only to get greeted by grumpy unhelpful workers, I have finally given up. Not to mention the way they treated the mask thing. I’m just tired of going there and turning around empty-handed. The way they responded to this review tells you everything you need to know. Any person who cares about their business would never respond this way. Keep it up and I’m sure your business will go the way of the dodo bird.

Great local owner store that is doing everything it can. Has masks, bleach, gloves and peroxide cleaners to help in these times along with being a great hardware store! Well done!!

Overall we had a great shopping experience. Unfortunately the first sales associate we spoke with was extremely rude and uninterested in helping us, but the next one we spoke with went above and beyond to help us find what we were looking for. As did the other associates we saw as we shopped our way thru the store. Our cashier was very nice and checked our cart load out quickly. We have shopped at this location for many many years and will continue to do so..

Always plenty of employees. Everyone is friendly. But dont ever ask for propane during a rain storm. OMG you have to listen to the guy 3 times complain about filling propane during a rain storm. Even though he is under a nice roof not getting wet. I go by 6 places where I can get Propane on my way to Gavins but not next time I will stop somewhere else. Life is to short to put up with that stuff. Great store other then that.

The two things that I would have to say are the greatest things about this place is its proximity to me and the fact that they sell propane. Steve was very helpful with some plumbing issues that I had today. Oh! Another great thing is that they give discounts to veteranarians. And Beth, to check out girl, said that she liked my peanuts mask. Who doesnt like to see Snoopy dancing and Schroeder playing the Appassionato?

Very helpful employees. Found a stainless steel screw, tennis balls for bottom of a walker to an easy lighting hand held butane torch. Had most everything. Like these stores better than the big box stores for my local supplies.

I am very unhappy with the service received today at Gavins Ace Hardware. I purchased a combination lock on Oct.20 and brought it back for credit or replacement since the combination mechanism had frozen up. I was lucky to have gotten it to open. I purchased it with a credit card and used my Ace membership account no. to record the purchase and receipt. I did not have the paper receipt so they would not accept the return. So the product failed miserably and I am stuck with it. This is not what my small town Ace would have done. Terrible. They could have accepted the bad product under against the manufacturers warranty but did not care. It is unlikely I will visit there again. Hate to say it, but the big box stores are much more customer orientated.Follow up- I contacted them and they accepted my return and helped me with another selection. All is good. I am a long term customer. All is good.

Well, I bought paint and the guy said he would shake it up in the machine so it was ready to go, but an hour later the top was pure liquid and the bottom solid sludge. I stirred an hour to get it workable. Why would he lie? NEVER going back there. ☹️

Current review: Went to Ace, frustrated with modern lights in my chandelier. An older mature gentleman took out the time to help me find the right bulbs for chandelier, you regained my business... next is old review...so get vaxxed and wear your own mask...multiple people in store with masks and without masks including employees with and without.

No respect for the Heath of your customers so you lost my business to the big boxes. Only employee who wears a mask is the poor 70+ year old working the back store service desk. Feel bad he has to be exposed to his co-workers and owner being a high risk individual. It’s just not that hard or bad of an inconvenience guys. Im sure your could wear a football helmet and mouth guard in the September heat of HS football but a cloth mask while standing around is asking too much...ugh.

Shopping here is a pleasure. They have a greater selection of products than the box stores. I needed very small drill bits. They had a large selection much greater than HD. Also, as youre walking down the isle someone always asks if you want help. You can wonder around HD for 30 minutes and the employees wont give you the time of day. Actually, its as if they are avoiding you usually huddled together talking with other employees. When you do get their attention, theyre usually put out. Anyway, Ace is a good place to find what you need without the hassle of the big stores. The only complaint I have is no one including the employees wear a mask. Out of several people I was the only one.

I wear a mask to protect you, your employees should wear a mask to protect me. You want my business, the very least you can do is help protect me. I mean without people around to buy your products it will be tough to stay in business! Disappointed in a local owed business not being part of the solution.

Do not go here if you value your health! Employees do NOT wear masks and would not put one on even when asked!! They think the square piece of plastic hanging in front of them (on one side only, open on all other sides) is enough. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS UNTIL THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING! Employees need to wear masks!!

If this were the only grocery in town, I would be very sad. But it is not. Many of their products are highly rated according to JRGrocery Eval. I cannot get Blue Belle ice cream or Chalulu hot sauces here. Their brand of chocolate is bad. But most of your offerings are very good and at the price they are selling it for its just insane to go anywhere else. Unless you are filthy rich and just dont care. And that does qualify for being insane.

The only place in fort Myers that sharpens scissors. They did an awesome job without breaking the bank. The store is huge and has anything you can possibly need The staff is very friendly and helpful. I am definitely going back! 😊

Just went to this store and was shocked to see that almost none of the staff is wearing masks - and not one of the three cashiers are wearing masks. Turned around and walked out. If Covid Safety is important to you, avoid this place

Employees do not wear masks, observed one member of staff coughing without covering mouth. Reason I was there was to repair belt on lawnmower. Got it back few days ago, ran terrible. To it back ,was told broken crankshaft but not there fault. ..right.No help what so ever.They claimed no responsibility for my problem so now I have to replace a 4 year old lawnmower. Thanks for ruining my machine.

Really good place with a lots of stuff at decent prices, way better than going to home depot. I give it a low rating because Im Spanish an even though Im 64 years old and very well dressed a manager still followed me all over the store like I was going to steal something.
