Today was my second time coming in, and immediately I was greeted by 2 friendly ladies, and when I mentioned what I was looking for, they immediately showed me where things that could fit what I was looking for would be. periodically they would check up on me and grab anything I had and bring it to the counter so I didnt have to lug it around. super friendly and welcoming environment, and a huge variety of clothes to choose from. Definitely my go to shopping place for clothes now!

Let me just start by saying I am not from Anchorage (Fairbanks) and I have LOVED every Platos closet I have ever walked into until this one. My first visit to this store was an interesting experience overall. I called in last week to see if they had a set day or time for consignment as I’ve encountered that at other locations outside of the state in the past. I was told that the store wouldn’t be accepting anything until 8/2 as they were having a back to school sale and were understaffed. They also notified me that any consignment would be store cred only which sounded fine with me because i planned to do some shopping there anyways. so I brought my things In today 8/5. The lady that greeted me was older gal which I’ve never encountered at one of these stores but she was sweet and informative. The walkway leading behind the front counter was littered with plastic bags full of clothes so it was apparent that they were very behind.. I could see some of the items inside the bags and even at a glance i could see that these items were not gently used or anything I’d consider for purchase. when I asked her about my items she said they weren’t taking in anything until the following Monday and that I should call first before I returned. I took my bag back to my car and reentered for a look around. As I walked the aisles felt a lot less like I was in a Platos closet and much more like i had entered a Goodwill or Salvation Army. I let the lady at the counter know that I was surprised at the stores contents and she responded by saying that the store was “more down to earth” and that it “catered to both kids and adults”. I did not know how to receive her statement, but it lead me to believe she was assuming that i was very young, I am 33 years old. I did not see a single item with a tag, and the items I did see… were far from gently used or appealing in terms of current trends or fashion regardless of how old you are. I am a young adult and I didn’t see anything here that matched up with Platos closets mission statement. I did however see a lot of very highly priced sneakers behind the counter.. and it would appear that these sneaker sales may currently be the driving force of this business. I’d like to put it lightly but I don’t think I can so I will just say that my advice to the owner of this store would be that whoever is doing the sorting and approving of items at this location should stop…yesterday.Platos closet has a mission statement that is VERY clear, and anyone who knows this store and has visited locations around the country expects a certain standard when they walk through the door. Your store is overstocked for a reason and this store needs help. I’ve read the comments here, And the ratings speak volumes. You can blame covid all you want but what I see here is somebody in management going very hard against the Plato grain. Do this community a favor, read the mission statement and don’t sink this store. Get somebody in here that knows trends and fashion or watch it continue to fail, up to you.Until then, I won’t be returning to this location and I won’t consign for store credit because you literally could not pay me to shop here.I’ll just leave this here.Platos Mission Statement:Platos Closet will provide a unique and convenient way to buy and sell gently used teen and young adult brand name clothing and accessories. Im so sick of this... Somehow covid has made this store no longer pay cash on the spot for your gently used, brand name items... nor will it pay for them at all... they will give you store credit. I wanted to sell my items not exchange them for more... the owner even has cash on the spot posted online in multiple places... this place is lame... and will disappoint.... wish they would stick to their word...but i guess covid somehow infected their integrity as well.... smh

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Your better off going to ANY other thrift store in Alaska because they couldnt tell what nice clothing is from a mile away!!!!!!!! Very overpriced its ridiculous, I wont be shopping here again.

They wanted to hold my purse behind the counter. I work and retail and would NEVER want to hold someones personal stuff. Thats a huge liability for the company if something went missing from a shoppers purse. The sign says no bags 12 by 12 or larger and mine was 8 by 8. She pointed out that there was a sign on the door to which I responded my purse was smaller than the sign requested. She said either way I had to put it behind the counter or in my car. I understand that you have to treat everyone the same, but my purse passed the requirements so I went in. Its insulting for her to make ANYONE put their personal belongings behind the counter. I understand the fear of shoplifting but it feels like youre automatically accusing everyone of wanting to steal.

I really dunno why i took so long to check this place out but im glad i did. They have a wide range of sizes and brands for everyone. They have dressing rooms to try it on. They are gently used clothes. And they also take clothes for $ or store credit. But they dont take things with stains or tares and make sure they are freshly washed or they wint take them cuz they dont have a washer n dryer. I think the prices are fair. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because their is a young man that works here in weekends that is rude and doesnt know customer service. But the ladies here are friendly and helpful.

This place has changed a lot over the years. The fun friendly kids this place to employ are long gone even prior to the pandemic. Now, only store credit is offered and its not fun or friendly.

I’m an sure I am not the first complaint about this store. You can find tons more unimpressed reviews on Yelp. I was frustrated I even wasted my time here. Incorrectly priced items were on her floor and instead of honoring the prices set in the store she waits until someone is up at the counter to change the price.This is not only bad business practice but poor management of a store and mishandling of prices. False advertising should be taken seriously at this store. You shouldn’t take your employees mistakes out on your market audience.Not only that, but items are priced BRAND NEW. It’s a second hand store and you pay dirt cheap for other peoples stuff, so you should not have pairs of xtratuffs for the same price as Cabelas. Idiot.

The door says they open at 12 due to short staff. Well I sat there for an hour waiting and nobody came. They never opened. I’m disappointed because I have 100$ in store credit I was suppose to come claim today after waiting a week for them to finish my clothes and I guess everyone just decided not to bother coming in today or putting a sign up to let anyone know.

Staff has always been friendly and prompt to work with. Store is well organized.

They werent open at ten as advertised, overpriced, and cramped n stuffy in there looks like clutter rather than a merchandise

This is what a consignment shop should be. I’ve worked extensively in consignment before and I guarantee the reason for so many negative reviews boils down to people being entitled and not understanding the following: the best consignment shops only take the best merchandise. You should NEVER bring in items that aren’t popular/designer brands or that don’t look almost new. No one wants to accept, sell or buy nasty, dirty Walmart brand clothes from a decade ago that you’re dragging into the store in a TRASH bag. It’s clear that’s what some of you are doing and when those items are rejected you cry online about it because you assume that since it’s YOURS that everyone must want it. No hunny. The best shops are selective. If they weren’t, the store would look like an even nastier version of Goodwill. Don’t blame people for doing their job- blame yourselves for not having the sense to properly select and launder the crappola you bring in. I’ve shopped here often enough to see way too many entitled people throw a fit over not getting cash for a puke covered blouse from the 90s. I will also add: this is a great place to buy shoes and handbags, highly recommend!

Definitely NOT the best thrift store in town. They are way over priced and they are only buying for store credit 🙄 This place has gone completely downhill since the new management. Rude and judgemental of bigger sizing. Was told I had to leave my purse behind the counter....like i was going to steal🙄 ITS MY PURSE NOT A HUGE BAG. Will never go in there again.

This Platos isn’t how it used to be. Don’t come here if you’re a teen looking for cute clothes. I walked around the store the other day and only found old lady fashion. Clothes i could find at goodwill for a quarter of the price 😆😆. I didn’t see any crop tops or any cute ripped jeans. I tried to sell them some of my clothes to them but they didn’t take any because they said that their inventory was full, but i dont think that they’re going to clear up any inventory if they have terrible selection. i only saw clothes middle aged woman wear.Amazing staff though

I stopped in here after going to Second Run to sell some designer items. The woman at the desk who I later found out was the new owner, was super nice and quickly sifted through my items while I was browsing in the store. I noticed everything was sorted very nicely, the clothes were in excellent condition, and that they had some designer or upscale brands like J Brand, Free People, Marmot, Lululemon, Max Studio, Etc. I noticed a few silk tops and was like wait a minute something is different here. I asked the woman who was going through my things if the store happened to be under new ownership. She said actually yes it is and she is the new owner. I told her the changes I noticed and how refreshing it is to see how clean the items are and the nice brands theyre taking. I usually stick to the designer consignment places but will definitely be back.

Best clothes at affordable prices

No thank you!!! Took fairly new clothes there to sell and the lady told me they only buy brand name stuff. You know like the kind you can only buy in the mall she said. But I had wrangler, Reebok, and Tommy Hilfiger brands in the bags i brought. I guess to the worker those were not good enough to buy. In my opinion she just didnt wanna do her job. So I left, and have no want to go back there.

First time being there in a year or so, wasn’t a fan of the old management.. but I’m happy to say that the new owners and staff are much friendlier and were very helpful with helping me find what I needed. Struck up some nice conversation in the process. Reasonably priced and high quality clothes. Thanks!!

3 stars because, although there is a huge selection of women’s clothes, there just isn’t anything that’s actually cute. Just a lot plain/boring tanks tops and shirts. Sections are so stocked that i feel like anything cute that would come through would probably be rejected because there’s just no space for it. HOWEVER i almost ALWAYS find great name brand sports shirts for my husband for really great prices. Highly recommend when shopping for men’s clothing!

Nice place to check for gently used clothes. The people that work there are really nice and attentive.You can sell your clothes, do not expect much, but they can tell you how much they will be selling it for as well so you can decides if you take the offer or not. They also donate items to the good will if you dont want to take the items they rejected back. I can also say this is a good thing for the community: Reuse, Reduce, Recycle.

It’s okay, I was told that they don’t sell anything in the month of Dec. because they needed to clear out their inventory to make room for some new items. Okay, I come back again last month, they said they changed the schedule for the sellers because they get jammed pack going through their intake of their inventory. Okay, I come back round three and I was finally able to sell half of my clothes there, but I couldn’t hear what the girl was saying to me. Something about stains and welfare? I didn’t see any stains on the clothes I took back home, and I probably misheard her saying something because I don’t think she said welfare but kept asking her anyway 🙄 and I wish she could speak up more clearly? I will come back again to sell clothes. And meeting Mary was very nice, I told her that my extra small size is too hard to find, and the only nice things I see are all black blazers. Other than that, I got a good price for selling half my clothes. And they also don’t tell you any news about sellers on Instagram. I checked and they didn’t post it. (About the new updated schedule for the buyers) Probably, on Facebook which I rarely check. But anyway, 3 stars is average for me. I’m sure they can do better. I miss selling accessories, perfumes and cellphone cases, and other unused and new items other than just clothes, shoes, belts, and bags. I have a lot of pros and cons about this place, but I’m sure they can improve more as a business, despite having a new owner.

You are better off going to Burlington or the thrift store. They charge an arm and a leg and they dont give you much at all for your items. Im not sure how they decide what items to purchase, but the items chosen are wack out of style and look super worn.

Id be better off throwing my clothes in the trash. First when I walked in, no one said a thing to me. I brought in two glad bags full of clothes and left with them both. While I was shopping, I had someone CLEARLY following me around and when I actually needed help, he was the least bit interested. I grabbed what little money they offered me (for my designer clothes) and scurried out of there. Never again!

I was wondering if you were interested in becoming a vendor for a treatment center for teens who do not have much clothes. I feel as though Platos Closet is perfect. Reasonable priced items, trendy for what the it style right now, and my personal experience with Platos Closet is always wonderful.

I had a really pleasant experience there today. I went to sell a jacket and some boots and they purchased them both off of me. The girls behind the counter were polite, genuinely friendly, and the entire process was very quick and easy. The owners spoke to me a little bit afterwards and they are both very friendly and seem to take their customer service very seriously. Ill definitely be back, that and I saw a sweater that I liked so now I have to go back!

We are pretty regular sellers with PC, I would like to see more streamlined buyers, Tend to get about 30% off bought prices. Need to have more sales to rotate their inventory, but what irritates me the most is when you spend all the time and gas and effort following their set timelines posted, only to be turned away. You should never be turning any prospective sellers away regardless if you buy the items or not. Also the staff really needs supervision, and not by someone in their age group.

The last two times I was in there over the past several weeks none of the employees were wearing masks. Different employees each time.It’s not feasible that 6 of the employees at this small shop have medical restrictions on wearing masks given the actual prevalence in this in the general population. It seems more likely that the manager or owners are allowing or asking their staff to disregard public health mandates.

I absolutely hate this place worse place ever. I would rather GIVE my clothes away from free then sell to that place. I brought in a garbage bags full of designer jeans shirts and a pair of ankle boots never worn. I have worn these pants maybe 2 every single pair are like new! They didnt take anything due to smoke smell. Nobody in my household or anyone in my vehicle smokes. NOBODY!! So possibility being she was smelling her own hand!?I will never sell or buy from here again. I do not recommend this store to anyone!!!

I brought in 2 huge bags full of clothes and shoes. Some yes were used, but most of them were in good shape, clean, and barely used. They bought one skirt. I got 5$. Huge waste of time and they didn’t buy anything but the skirt. Do not recommend.

I love Platos closet!!! Im always able to find something different or old that Ive been looking for, for awhile. The customer service is great, theres always someone to help you out in finding what you are looking for, or they are knowledgeable as in finding another store, that may have what they might not. Ive had nothing but great experiences from Platos.

They only have clothes. Racks make the isles difficult to move around. Highschool chicks behind counter. They never negotiate a flipping dime lower on price even if you find a small tear, etc. Go to Salvation Army instead. You can get all kinds of stuff, even brand new still in the box, AND they WILL give you a better price if you ask. The store in Eagle River is my favorite!

This is the best thrift store in Anchorage, it has the best selection of clothing availiable and none of it looks ratty or dirty, and to top it all off, they have prices lower than goodwill and occasional sales. I never review places, but this one deserves it.(a pic of a great shirt i got there.)

I sold my clothes here and they accepted a ton of them, gave me fair prices and donated the rest that they didnt want. It was a very convenient trip for me. Ill sell and buy from them again.

Ive tried selling some of my gently used clothes here in size L-XL/12-14 and they did not buy any. Were overstocked, was their reply. While I was browsing I noticed that my size was their smallest section.

Poor customer service! They keep forgetting to add my points after purchase and the lady told me to show proof of purchase by showing my online banking account. WTH?

They buy things for a ridiculously low amount of money, and sell it for too much rather than what it’s worth being used. Better off in the trash or donate to a place who will sell it for a reasonable price. Might as well buy new cloths instead of going to that place.

None of the employees at Plato’s were wearing masks. There is a city wide mandate requiring masks indoors. Very unsafe environment.

I had an okay experience at Platos. I made $50 and they gave back a few items and I understand why; the clothing was not in demand and it wasnt cute for teens. Although, I did not like how I had to walk in 3 times in one day (because they were so called busy) just for me to hand in my bag and not have them go through it for me. Which was lame but Im still going in cause they gave me good money $$$$

They were not the nicest people, they didnt take things I found to have value, things that had tags on them. They take $100 jeans and give you $4. Not worth it! I rather bless someone and/or do a tax write off. I guess this place is good to get a couple of dollars but I think my experience may have been swayed by their attitudes as well. ..

I had a TERRIBLE experience when I tried to sell clothes here for the first (and now only!) time. A number of people came in with clothing to sell as well, and the employee told me I would have to wait three hours. I left and an hour later they texted me and told me they had finished looking through everything-Unlikely, as there were many people ahead of me and I had brought in quite a few containers. I returned to the store and they informed me that there were no buys, because the brands just wouldnt sell real well in our store, despite the fact that there were many items and brands that fit exactly what type of clothing they sell. Upon returning home, I opened the containers to discover that the clothing was in the exact same position as it had been when it had arrived at the store! (I had checked the clothes, which were unfolded, previous to dropping them off, so it was easy to tell they hadnt been touched.) They didnt even look through any of the clothes, but worse yet, a handbag (on top of one of the containers) was missing! When I called to ask, whomever answered the phone said they would call me if they found it. I never heard back from them and when I returned to the store to speak with the manager they simply said she was out of state and offered no alternatives. I will never try to sell here again. Laziness, lying, and thievery!

Went in today to sell some clothes. I was looking forward to go in there because I have read so many bad reviews on this store and that made me curious. Although my experience there was surprisingly good. The employees were really nice and everything.

Nice clothes. Somewhat good prices, but when you are going to drop over $200 and are a female who needs the facilities, they should let you use their bathroom!!! Today I was hoping to sell some of my clothes of course... The lady that helped me was very nice, and for awhile was doing everything by herself she told me she would be done in an hour, I was fine with that, then time kept going by and she still wasnt done with my clothes, she was polite and said sorry for the inconvenience and gave me a five dollar coupon, which I was also fine with, but I did a little shopping in there and by the time it was done, the cashier told me that they only wanted six items and that the rest would be an overflow to their collection... I waited three hours, just for 15 dollars and all of my stuff was the stuff they were looking for I checked everything before I came in. I just think this place is a huge rip off, and I hate to say it but they will not be getting any business from me. They are horrible, it makes no sense for there to be an advertisement on the clothes you guys need, if when the customer gets there you tell them there is no need for them, I understand you guys are affordable but why rip off people who you want to be loyal customers, this business is backwards and needs to work on bettering there message when it comes to customers selling back to their company, this system is inefficient.

Great! Theres a wide array of selections you can choose from, brand news as well as used yet, still in excellent condition. Staff are courteous & helpful.

Advice for the store owner get rid of your emplyees cuzz it seems to be a issue and bringing down your sales. Its a great store but your employees are unbusiness like, rude, disrespectful and make me not want to ever come back.

I went in the store with only 8 or so items when I walked to cashier there was bags full with items, I checked in and the employees told me it was going to be an hour wait because there were people ahead of me but why wait when they could look through my items in 5 minutes because it’s such of waste of time to wait an hour to look through the items when I had less then what was in the bags 🙄 so I waited an hour and came back but when I did they haven’t even touched my items so I asked them when will they go through my items and they said right now which I appreciated so after 15 minutes they gave me 20 dollars for all of my items. I had forever 21 jackets and dresses and some h and m dresses and a satin forever 21 purse and keep in mind I had 2 h and m rompers that I bought for 5 dollars. Anyways I took the money realizing I should’ve sold the items myself. I came back in the store 2 weeks later cause I wanted to see what they would offer me for more clothes and a pair of converse, the only difference was they actually looked through my items really quick. I looked around the store and found the romper I sold to them they were selling it for 8 dollars, at the end I didn’t buy anything and they were selling my converse for less than 4 dollars and I know that because I didn’t want to sell them to playtos so the took it off from my total and there was a 4 dollar difference. I suggest you go to playtos if you have stylish clothing you don’t want anymore and honestly don’t care in how much you get

Prices are some what ok but honestly its more of a place for gurls to shop their guy sections is really small and over priced in a small corner in the back mean while the female section takes up 90% of the store. Everytime my gf has gone here theyve been nothing but rude and ridiculous.One time she went In to ask what items they were in most need of (she wanted to sell, she has way to much clothes Haha), they gave her a list she came back the next day with items from her closet according by the list. Everything was in great condition, all high end brand names, well when she dropped the bag and came back they told her they didnt take anything because they didnt need any of those items . She explained she had gone by the list and the employee just shrugged and walked off. She tried to ask what she could bring in to sell and they said designer Jeans this time, shed brought in a bunch of Jeans next day. All great condition, expensive brands. They didnt take any of them?The girl said they had too many of those brands.Seriously? I walked through that store with her and we saw alot of lower end items.Oh well, we will take our business to Facebook market. This place is a joke.. the one time she did almost sell was $240 coach bag they offered $14. Thats a big F U.

Stopped in today to drop off acceptable men’s clothing that were “ needing” so to speak, Waited for almost two hours and when I was texted to pick up, didn’t even open my bag! “ I’m sorry but none of these clothes are “acceptable”, the one piece we can accept has TOO MUCH LINT ON IT..” ..are you kidding me?? Are you that lazy to not look through and just make excuses? Wow what lazy, pitiful, stuck up snobby witch’s Plato’s closet employees are.

They buy clothes for unrealistic cheap prices. And sell used clothes for ridiculous high prices. Better off with pace book market or a tax write off

Always had great service when I go in there. A lot of people are complaining about their buys in which the CSR didnt completely look through their clothes. Ive personally had this happen to me. But I can tell you that isnt a company policy or issue. Thats a personality issue on the part of the CSR. Most of the people who work here, are young. But most of them are amazing at customer service. The ones who do the above, being lazy, dont last long. Ive been a loyal customer of theres for close to 10 years. Im not going to stop shopping or selling to them, because of a few bad apples over the years.

Friendly staff, clean store. Prices seem fare and buy/sell prices reasonable. Good eye on stuff you bring in, but Ive purchased things unknowingly with holes and snags.

Cant say enough for this store great prices on good quality clothes.

The “owner” of this store, Ghinger Erickson, is the most unprofessional and immature person I have ever come across in this city. She called my place of business trying to sell ad space in a guide and then became belligerent when I told her no thank you and we were not interested. She wouldn’t take no for an answer and continued to harass me by calling after I asked her not to call again, then emailed five times, and finally went to post slanderous reviews of our business when she was trying to sell us marketing services. I called the store and spoke to her husband Allan who actually is the owner and told him of her uncalled for behavior. He did apologize and said he was unaware of this happening. He said he would speak to her about it but she continued emailing after I called and then proceeded to “ban” me from the store. I would never shop here to begin with, but she is a stain on this business and society. I think it’s time to go back to Texas as this kind of business model has no place in Anchorage. It’s obvious why there are so many poor reviews all over the internet about this place. What a joke!Response: Your wife said she is the owner to me multiple times, harassed me and then posted numerous slanderous reviews of my practice online, so yes that does warrant me to comment on your store. Then she banned me from ever coming there so that is quite a negative experience solely based on her own invalid reaction to me saying “no thank you” to her offer of marketing solicitation.What business owner harasses and slanders a local practice after soliciting them for an ad? You should speak to her about her behavior and misrepresenting your store by treating someone like that for no reason.If she takes down her negative reviews and completely stops all communication as I’ve asked numerous times now, I will delete mine as well. If this continues I will have a cease and desist letter served to you by our legal team for her slanderous reviews as she never called as a patient as she claimed in her slanderous reviews. Her call clearly started off by asking to speak to our marketing team about an ad in a guide for newcomers to Anchorage.I have her phone calls and emails as proof so I would rather solve this amicably, but am prepared to step it up if she continues as this is unacceptable behavior.We work hard to maintain our 4.9 rating and due to her lies it has dropped us to a 4.5. Our practice has been a respected local business for over 40 years and my whole staff works extremely hard to maintain our positive reputation in the community. It is unacceptable to tolerate this and I will not allow her lies to taint what we strive so hard to maintain.

Great customer service, Im welcomed and greeted with a smile every time I walk through the door, its very clean and organized, always full of people when I get there , wish they would suggest a better location didnt like all the craziness that was happening outside , Manager does a good job at running everything, I give it a 4 star

What a joke this place is. Offered me $4 for like new designer heels ....then all their items that are like new for sale are $25 or more. The only inexpensive things are stained or complete crap

If you a bum with stolen clothes you treated like royalty, but if your a parent and have a shirt or pants you wore one time they play you. So if youre offered a deal and dont want the deal that day, but decide to come back with the same material it depreciates. Theres no sign its just like that. They low key talk about you too and manager is sketchy. Dont waste your time fellas if the shoe you sell is over a 12 they dont want it... They could be brand new jordans. Use to be good to sell they gave you a good price . now new workers to lazy. Kids now a days. Had 2 bags of new clothes mostly from rei billybong and 3 new rei shoes .try to offer me 11$ decied to donate to vallvillage instead was really insulated the short brown hair girl only went throu 1/2 my first bag. Sorry for the bad spelling. Came yesterday.

I came to drop clothes off and wasnt even greeted or anything. The lady in the front was pretty rude to me, and acted as if she was too good for her job. When I went to pick my clothes up, I was greeted which was nice, but the lady that checked me out was downright rude. Dirty looks and everything. I would not recommend this place. Customer service is very important to platos closet. Im not sure what happened but this place is going dowhill And fast.

Im not impress, or even interested in store the clothing is really used conditions of some are bad af. The good cute ones priced. IDK i guess Good Will is getting Way Better in my opinion. Only thing they dont buy or store Crédit clothing only donations welcomed. Still better. Sorry but not really just saying.

Shopped with my friend about a week or so ago. I had an arm full of clothes. One girl hung them on the 4 dressing room door for me. A young teen blonde boy kept hovering by my friend and myself . Really creepy like . I went about asking my friend if this pair of Jeans looked good or that pair . Then the teen boy was STARING in at me in a shirt and panties as I was peeking out of the dressing room to see what my friend tried on ! Just blatantly STARING! The owner ( an old guy) Im guessing came around d asking how we were doing. Oh fine yes , I love to be gawked at while trying on clothes . The boy then took my clothes on my number 4 door and placed them back in some bin . Im telling him as nicely as possible these are mine . He tells me NO these were on th he door. I said yes where the girl put MY clothes Im buying ! Jesus h CHRIST people !! I dont know why I even bothered shopping there after reading how bad their theft rate is. I wont be going back. Oh and by the way I bought a 90.00 pink designer purse as well as overpriced 50.00 Jeans and a few other pairs. I shouldnt have though since the service was craptastic. Oh Im 42 by the way and have 3 kids so I know my kids clothing and sizing. They had alot of dresses, Jeans, and shirts that shouldve been in a kiss store. Seriously sir train your your damn staff !!

Terrible service. My family Was treated like a criminal. Never felt like this at Closthesline or Plain Jane. Refused to let me use restroom and had to walk through the homeless crowd to use the bathroom at BearsTooth. Heavily restricting clothes in dressing room with pre assumption that all customers steal. We spent over $100 on USED clothes. Asked for a manager and was told he left and a kid was “technically “ the manager, but she could have cared less why I wanted to talk with management, so I didn’t even bother telling her the issue. These guys need to up their customer service game if they want a good crowd to come here instead of their competitors who don’t treat customers like this. Hey Platos, you get the customers you cater your business to. Just saying...

Just went into the store and I was browsing and the owners wife came over and said I cant have my purse with me because of people shop lifting.. I had to give her my purse. I was so insulted. Never again will I go to Platos closet.

I went in just to browse with my girlfriend today which is just 1 day before our baby shower, I had just so happened to find a better fitting pair of pants, I tried them on multiple times to get an opinion from my girlfriend and for myself ofcourse, they were aware I had came in with her and a family member, the whole time browsing I can literally see/feel them breathing down my back, this is even after I had, had a convo with an associate who actually asked for my soon to be born babys name!!. After all of this we decided to find what we needed (if any) and get tf out of there because it was upsetting. When we were reaching the door the same associate that was told my childs name asked to check my bag😡😡😡 willingly I did so and after that I let them know that my shopping experience was very unsatisfying due to multiple associates constantly Watching us. Through it all I was told that Its policy that we follow everyone around I dont think I had ever laughed so hard in my life, People come in to spend their hard earned money and You treat them like a criminal??, little advice to the new owner, To prevent theft you dont follow someone around waiting for them to steal, You give them excellent customer service so that when people like me in this case are actually shopping they dont leave with such an unprofessional shopping experience like I did. I hope yall get yall act together before you end up going out of business again 😴 You dont even have to ask if Ill be going back here because you should know the answer by now, On another note when you ask to check someones bag with their pirchased items in it, Does that not make it their personal belonging/property? What happens when they say no to your associates trying to search the bag? Will they unlawfully search the bag? Due to policy? Smh thats how people get hurt and most of the times it isnt the customer. Due your self a favor, Protect your associates and Your business. Stop trying so hard to stop theft and focus on a professional way to stop it. Because if not, you will chase the customers like me away. And chasing customers away is chasing away money. And without money you arent anything 😐

Youve got to search through all the clothes to find the good stuff, but its worth it to find like new brand name clothes at affordable prices. You wont get much for clothes you sell to them and they are usually picky about what they accept, they need to be in good condition and in style.

I really want to like this platos closet because I like the one in TN. But the experience is just terrible each time I come back. This time dropping of clothes I littler ly drove right down the street and not a minute later I got a call they have already gone through the order. Everything they took was from the top of a bag...I understand its a business and you cant take everything but at least take the time for your customers to feel appreciated. I like the workers they are all really positive and nice when I came in, and they even help me bring things back to my car...but this is probally the last time Im coming back to platos closet:(

Everything I bring in, even items I purchased from them “do not sell well with the store” and they cannot buy. It’s happened three times now. Don’t wast time on them. And very unfriendly and unprofessional too.

I was in on a weekend evening recently. Very disgusting treatment of a homeless person by a patron, she was openly aggressive towards him, several times going out of her way to go back outside to harass the man. All the while, being cheered on by 2 male staff, whom, were OPENLY calling the man racial epithets while cheering the girl on. Many people in the store were disturbed by this behavior. After over a 1/2 hour of this confrontation, they handed the girl an application & told her Youre hired. Based on that alone. That was f****g awesome! I left in disgust, without purchasing what I had chosen. Because, the staff ignored the patrons inside to encourage confrontation. I was not the only 1 ignored. Just the only 1 with enough standards to leave. At least, whoever I talked to today, listened. She said They will be given training. No. No, Miss. They need to be fired. That was absolutely ABHORRENT behavior.

I went there with two full boxes of clothes, they told me it would be a 20 minute wait (to look through them). When I got back they just gave me my clothes back. They told me that they werent trendy so they didnt take anything! Not even my lace printed skinny jeans, and they are designer jeans! So not wroth the trip into Anchorage.

They give you a decent buying prices the clothing you sell a little expensive for some things in the store but affordable and nice selection.

Ridiculous that they wont let you use the bathroom. Was told it wasnt for the customers. Guess im not important enough to shop there either.
