My two young children and very pregnant wife were driving home from New York to Michigan this past Sunday morning and experienced a terrifying flat tire on the GW Bridge. The Port Authority Police and tow truck escorted us across the bridge to Fort Lee to a safe area to change our tire. It was early, we were lost, and trying to make do. Luckily for us, this Mavis was only a few blocks from us and we pulled in after using the spare tire. They opened at 9AM on Sunday so we waited for about 1.5 hours to have the tire checked.Christina arrived and took immediate care of us, letting us know they would get us in as soon as possible amidst the other customers with appointments. They were able to plug the tire and get us back on the road in 45 minutes! It may have been a routine job for them here, but it is something our family will remember for a long time.Thank you to Christina and the Fort Lee Mavis crew!

I called Mavis on Tuesday looking for particular Bridgestone tires for my Jeep Grand Cherokee which other places couldnt get for me. Mavis ordered them and got them the very next day. Needed oil change, alignment and balance - it was easy to make an appointment, customer service was great and price was very reasonable. Andrew at the front was VERY accommodating and helpful. Today, for the first time, I took my Hyundai Elantra to Fort Lee Mavis for a regular oil change. Andrew helped me, and he was so polite and helpful! He answered all of my questions. The manager, Rich called to let me know that my breaks needed help and that my suspension was stretched. He was also very personable and great to talk to.The oil change was $59, and the total with the breaks was ~$531.I need to think about whether or not to replace my suspension.Overall, great bedside manner, and the guys look out for you.Thank you for the excellent customer service!

DO NOT COME HERE. I dont usually write reviews, but I do not want this to happen to anyone else. The mechanics and the workers get paid commission and do not care. IF you do come, make sure to watch your vehicle. (Do Not confuse this place with Fort Lee Auto Body because of the woman who works at the front desk of Mavis Discount Tire in Fort Lee, NJ. She used to work at Fort Lee Auto Body, too)On Oct 5th, they were busy and I understand, but own up to your mistakes. After 45 Minutes of waiting, the Manager says All Done, You cant patch the tire again. Have a good day5 Days pass and the tire is deflating. I called October 12 and the Manager answered the phone and started getting angry and yelling saying that I mustve ran over another nail (This is possible, but it was not the case) I actually brought my car to another Autobody and upon further inspection, Mavis Discount Tire in Fort Lee, NJ DID NOT FIX THE TIRE. (I have video proof) I paid $38 for them to put air into the tire. The manager is negligent, rude, and irresponsible. Dont belittle customers and make assumptions. They can also look at their video surveillance cameras too for Oct 5th, between 4PM-5:30PM.

Earlier this month, I went to Mavis, due to a problem with my tire. They cared for it. Last week, while on the road, driving my son to work, we experienced a major, almost near to death experience, due to, again, my tire. I immediately called the Mavis office in Fort Lee, NJ, and related what happened. I can not even express in words the apologies, comfort and quick and professional service I received, from the receptionist, staff on hand, including the regional manager, who came to the site himself, to check out and work on the situation with my car! I made the arrangements for towing, and they took care of the expenses. I waited on-site, enjoying the companys television, and cold water, on that very hot day, and shared some great laughs with the receptionist. (When the phone was not ringing off the hook, the receptionist and I were looking at a cooking show. It was hilarious!) Anyway, for safety reasons and because the car needed a part, and a special wheel, it was kept overnight. I had no problem with that. The next day, when the head manager called me, (because he was off the day of the accident) he was apologetic, and told me all that went wrong, and all the corrections he and his staff made, and that the car was completely safe to drive and come and pick it up! When I arrived to the site, again, all were sorry about the incident. I related how so very appreciative I was for their professionalism, excellent work and quick response. And how I was truly grateful that my son and I did not die or get injured. So, needless to say, in the future, if I have any other issues or concerns about this or any other car I will purchase in the future, Mavis will be my go to guys! Thank you Mavis staff for not just your professional touch, but the human touch.

She knew right away there was a problem with one of my tires and she was very concerned for me. I took her advice and had your team look at it. They found a nail that was unable to be patch and they presented me with two tire options. They moved very quickly and were able to help me get in and out in less than an hour which was ideal since I was just in town for a few hours and was about to head over to Washington D.C. I 100% would not have made it safely without the new tire. Thanks to your staff I will arrive home safe! Thanks again!

This is my current go-to place. So far, I can attest their excellent customer service. The front desk and mechanics have great rapport and good communication. Communications were clear, and they completed their work in a timely fashion as communicated. And they do this even in light of a constant amount of business going in and out.I am giving five stars because despite some mistakes that had occurred in the past, as you can see even in the reviews, the owners have always reached out and remedies the situation when problems are communicated to them. So if you notice anything that youre troubled by, just shoot them a call and theyll courteously handle it.

We were in a real bind! wed hit a pothole on i-95 and blew two tires! we got off the highway immediately and luck for us there was a mavis tire shop right up the hill. the woman at the front desk was very helpful and sympathetic and helped us get a good deal and quick service. everything was handled courteously and skillfully and we were back on the road in a short time. they made our little nightmare just a bit better by taking care of us and getting us on our way efficiently. recommended!

First responders do not go here! It’s a total bait & switch! Woman at the front desk told me she wouldn’t give me the first responder discount offered on the website because she’d lose out on money. They just lost a years long customer.

Ive gone there twice for an oil change and inquired about an issue with my car. Both times they tried to charge me for unnecessary work. They are very nice and will make you feel welcome, but blatantly lie about repairs to upcharge you. For example, they told me to change the rack & pin with 3 hours labor for >$1,000. I took it somewhere else and they said power steering fluid is low, we dont see any leaks and cannot diagnose any issue. They will upcharge you and try to be nice, but they are low lifes and will rip you off. Stay away.

I visited Mavis in Utica ave for the first time and had a good experience. Pablo Cabrejo was very courteous and answered all my questions. When I go to my dealer, I wait 4 or 5 hours, get desperate and after a long waiting I get a high bill. At Mavis I waited 1 hour and 20 mins for the change of 4 new tires, balance, alignments, change of wipers, brakes and other things. Good Job !

My experience with Mavis tire in fort lee was exceptional. From start to end I felt taken care of and informed the whole way. Kris the woman at the front was nice and super helpful, even gave me menus of local spots to eat whileI waited. Rich checked me out and explained to me thoroughly what work has been done and was VERY fair with the price. I’d recommend this location to any one!

Hit a pothole and got a flat. Air leaking out from the side in the rim area. Called Mavis to check on their tire check, replacement process and pricing. Talked to Christina at the customer service. No fee charge to check on tire problem and not to do work at Mavis. No price info given over the phone.I walked in and talked to Christina. The tech took my car in and checked the tire. He said there is a hole on the side. Tire is not repairable which is true when the hole is on the side. I replaced the tire with Mavis brand all season highway touring for $160 that includes parts and labor. My car is Acura TSX. Christina is helpful, friendly and she would work with you when you tell her what you want.One thing to watch. Make sure you check what the technician is doing through the window. The guy worked on my car right away did diagnostic check without even checking the tire first. I told Christina I dont need that check. I just need to check on the tire to see the damage. She had to stop the technician. I also told Christina I dont need brake check. Thats how you can avoid unnecessary charges. My suggestion is do your oil change at a dealership. My dealership provides diagnostic check for free along with oil change. Just dont fix at the dealership.

If you ever go through Amazon to send them tires directly so they can install, DONT DO IT!!!Complete waste of time and the guy at the counter was no help at all. Showed proof of delivery for the tires but stated “I do not have an employee by that name.” Very frustrating and unprofessional.

I want to thank Rich and Orlando at Mavis for a wonderful and expectation exceeding experience! Came in for significant brake work expecting a long wait and significance expense. To great surprise, the work was completed in a couple of hours and well within my price expectations.They also informed me of some additional things that could be worked on and those that they felt could be held off. Fully informational and not at all trying to make a sale. I did take them up on a couple of things pre-knowing that they needed work anyway. So frankly, increased my confidence in their integrity.Lastly, one piece i didnt take them up on was to replace wiper blades; felt i had a bit more mileage in the ones I had and declined. Rich overheard, and just threw them in. Thank you for that. Yea, its just wiper blades, but its a great gesture and appreciated.Thanks again gentlemen. Youll be my spot going forward!

I was very disappointed with this place because of their poor work and service. I will never go back here again.This is the situation that I experienced from here. I made an appointment online for two tires replacement. After waiting for about 1 hour, one guy (I dont know his name. He is tall and European) told me that I need to have brake and rotor change and there are no studs 3 among 5. He said somebody did not put it back after work previously.I was surprised because this place was the only place that I visited after moving to Fort Lee. So I told him I got service from here for another tire change and I got tire rotation too here.But the guy said I never been here before. I was astonished because I changed the other two tires here and also I changed brake, rotor and cylinder.After searching the computer he said again I never been here. So I showed him the proof document that I visited here. But I found that on the document the car model and plate number was not mine. The car model was totally different and the plate number was little bit different. That was the reason why my repair history was not in the system.I asked him what happened here? He did not say sorry to me, but he said it is your fault because this information was from online. I checked the reservation history, but there was no place to type plate number. And if I ordered the tires with the wrong car model I could not get the exact same size of tires. Mine was Rondo, but on the document the car model was Rio. They are totally different cars and different tire sizes. And I remember that every time I visited here, a lady or someone else, typed a car model and plate number even though I made a reservation online because online reservation never asked me plate number and even car model was used for only to search the right size tires. They only get the tire information from the online reservation.I said this to him, but he keeps saying this was my fault. And he said Even though you got tire and brake jobs here before, it was almost one year ago, so how can I know what happened during that period? He did not speak nicely, but almost screamed at me.I was angry so I wanted to take my car back. But because I was too busy to go to another place, I just asked him to change tires and change brakes with the purchase of 3 studs. And I decided to not come back here again.After coming back home, I found more problems. The brake oil cap was disappeared, and the small cover for battery (+) also disappeared. Do you know where I found them? They were below the front windshield. If I drove on the highway they would be gone forever. I was sure that they did not put the studs in at the time. It was their fault.And there is a squeaking sound from the breaks after changing. Its been one month and I drive everyday, but the annoying sound is not disappearing at all. Maybe they can fix it, but I do not want to go back there again.Beware of this place. If you been here or want to go here, I recommend you check your car carefully. They might have missed something. They are not professionals. If I can give zero, I want to do it.

Sent a friend for a replacement thermostat. They quoted $350 for a 2002 nissan altima. The part online is $5.99 I asked for their hourly rate and they said $117/hr.... The thermostat is in top of the motor easily accessible... When I tried to negotiate they told me: thats the price were charging!.This place is a rip off! Did it myself in 15 minutes. I will never recommend again!In response to your review. Why would I call you? Not to mention my review says I made the repair myself in 15 minutes... But also 4 months ago you caused significant damage to my truck at your closer location, You lied, cheated the bill, charged me for things that werent done, reassembled my break but did not tighten the bolts which broke off my vehicle while driving on the highway, did not balance my wheels properly, and offered me a free oil change instead of giving me my money back. Your company is a bunch of hacks and I have full intention upon suing you. I gave your company the benefit of the doubt and referred a different location to my friend which was needless to say embarrassing to say the least... Your company cannot perform tire changes correctly and honestly! How or why would I ever let you perform an oil change or any other repair? You legitimately almost killed me! You are a dangerous and should not be allowed to stay in business!

I have been a Mavis customer for years in other states, but this is the first time I have come to this particular Mavis. This Mavis seems to have technicians that go the extra mile to make sure that the service is worth every dollar you pay. I am one of those people who stands at the window and watches the mechanics. Not because I am worried they arent doing their jobs, but because its much more interesting than watching the waiting room TV. I had the rear breaks pads and rotors done on my late model SUV. For the first time ever, I saw the mechanic fully clean the caliper and clips. I have had these breaks replaced half a dozen times over the life of my vehicle at other shops, but I have never seen anyone take the time to actually clean the caliper. This might be common practice elsewhere, but this attention to detail from a chain shop was nice to see. I know the parts will still wear at the same rate, and that it doesnt really make a difference mechanically, but I can say that its nice to know that the technician inspected and fully cleaned a part that normally just gets ignored until you have to replace it. I commend their attention to detail.

Horrible. This used to be a small business with excellent customer service and care. Now its just another big brand shop with zero interest in customer service. Walked in with a small leak in my tire and was told I needed to leave the car for a few hours to get it done. Tried to go back another time to replace all four of my tires and was asked if I could come back later or I could sit and wait maybe 30-40 min. I took my money elsewhere and Im happy I did so.They have no interest in customer satisfaction. I would give zero stars but Google does not give that option so Im stuck having to give one star.

I had several negative experiences at the Mavis In Ridgefield Park, NJ. They are rude, and have extensive wait times. Coming to the Mavis in Fort Lee is the complete opposite. They are courteous, professional, and care about their customers. They even apologized for my experiences at the other location. This will be my location of preference for all future needs. I stopped in recently with a slow leak on one of the wheel/tires for my NSX. The staff was courteous and easy to work with. They actually worked on my issue immediately resealing the valve stem and mounting the tire completely solving the issue. I usually stay away from chains, especially when it comes to my sports cars but they have completely sold me. Next mount or issue I have I will be coming back.

Christine is very professional, helpful and well informed. The service was fast and in a timely manner for a Saturday. As I was waiting I saw how they communicate as team players. A man had a flat needed a tire. They helped him asap. The prices are amazingly affordable. I recommend it. Their customer service is what customer service should be service with a smile. I was also informed that the shrieking sound werent my brakes but the need for front rotors.

I had a bolt stuck in one of my tires. I went to this shop because it was the nearest. The service was excellent. They only charged what they quoted up front (very reasonable), and had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and respectful.

We had a great experience on a recent Sunday afternoon at the Mavis Discount Tire in Fort Lee. A tire went flat on our SUV. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, we scrambled to find a tire repair place that was open. A Google query showed the Mavis Discount Tire in Fort Lee was not only close to us, but was also openuntil 5 p.m. We called and spoke with Christina. She was so cordial and professional, reassuring us thats why they were there. Christina and her team had our flat tire fixed in no time at a very reasonable price, and we were on our way. Very pleased with the experience that we had, we will be returning again to Mavis Discount Tire in Fort Lee for our next tire and other automotive needs!

I brought my Jeep Wrangler in Friday afternoon, the service was incredible! I was in and out in less than two hours, tires and alignment are perfect. Lowest prices in the area. The staff even went out of their way to assist with my ABS Module. I highly recommend Mavis Tire in Ft. Lee, NJ.

Horrible. Scheduled a Wheel Alignment appointment for 9AM since I had another appointment scheduled for 12. The guy on the counter said it would be ready an 1hr. I returned at 11:30 and the car was sitting outside, unseen. When I asked what happened, the technician said “It’s busy. You have to wait.” Took my car and business elsewhere. What’s the point of making an appointment if you’re not going to honor it?

Their business ethics seem honest and true. Im so grateful I have finally found my HOME auto shop after 30 years of driving. I dont normally write reviews, but Mavis Fort Lee is highly recommended.

Great customer service, got my car fixed fast and on time.

Terrible. Extremely rude customer service is actually disgusting. Most typical shady mechanic place. Tried to over charge me 40 dollars for a simple tire patch.. tried to tell me what kind of tire my car had without even looking at it.. what.. then started to recommend other things but they know nothing about my car lmao.. they act like they are doing customer a favor but if you go here there is very high probability you will be scammed of your hard earned money.

You will not regret going here. I had a flat tire on the turnpike and in less than 4 hours, Richard Burke and his crew at fort lee helped me out as a customer. They really went above and beyond for me. I would this is customer service that I always wanted. Feeling valued and cared for so thank you richard burke and your crew for helping me out!
