Went with my girlfriend for a discover scuba, we had a great experience, initially I was feeling a bit anxious, but after training in the pool, got more relaxed and then finally went to the beach. Our instructor was Jay, great guy, very patient, we had a blast, definitely we will return and recommend you guys.

Finally getting certified. Very friendly staff, price is great, review session was very in depth, pool session thorough. Just the open water left. If you are looking to get certified give them a look.

Were going to take a hike through the Narrows of Zion and somebody suggested that I get neoprene socks so that my feet dont freeze. We were quite surprised to see that the temperatures are going to be so low and that walking through the water would be very cold on our feet. I checked all the big box stores and no one had neoprene socks. I called this place up and they had them. What wonderful service we received as well. Demetrius was the first person I spoke to and he was incredibly helpful and suggesting that we actually bring the hiking sandals that we will be wearing over the socks. As soon as my husband got home we headed over we got to try on the socks and make sure we have the perfect fit. Jay was at the store when we got there and he was very helpful. I so appreciate this local community store.

They are incredibly helpful despite my propensity to cancel lessons because of extraneous arrangements. I needed the certification ASAP and they helped me get it in only four lessons. Giving Pineapple Scuba and our instructor a great review! My oldest daughter and I wanted a short scuba course while on spring break, with the ability to do an open water dive, and Pineapple was the trick! Our instructor was great, cool and laid back but very intent on teaching us what we needed for our dive - and keeping us safe. The course is great - little over 4 hours (do your online course the night before, takes about an hour), that had an hour of gear fit up and technique review, an hour in the pool, and then to the beach! we spent over an hour in the ocean, depths to about 25 feet exploring the reef off of north Ft Lauderdale beach. Was a great intro to scuba and were looking forward to using the course time towards our certification.

My boyfriend and I traveled from Tennessee to become Open Water certified.Friendly staff and atmosphere.Quality instructors.No hidden fees or costs—everything is upfront.They worked with our schedule to get our pool, confined, and open water dives completed within our travel time frame.Very convenient with the pool onsite.Everything was clean.They are knowledgeable about the equipment if you want to buy, without any pressure to do so.Our instructor, Steve, was deliberate and made sure we mastered the skills before moving on. We never felt rushed.

Great experience! Everyone at Pineapple is so nice and accommodating. All the instructors made me feel at ease and the learning experience a good/fun time (open water certification.) Especially Derek, he was very thorough with his teaching of skills but also laid-back and has a calming effect about him, for us nervous nellies out there.I would recommend this dive shop to everyone. We did the Scuba Discovery which is an introduction to scuba diving without certification. Derek was our instructor and he did an amazing job! Not only was he knowledgeable about diving, but was very supportive and reassuring! He was very easy to learn from and we enjoyed our very first scuba dive! Since it was just us we were able to go a little more in depth with the training! Thanks Derek!

Update: After posting my initial review, Colin, the owner, reached out and was very professional. He refunded our cost and after an additional issue with the last dive, offered to personally go out with my daughter and get her to the end of the certificate. He is going above and beyond and sees the issues and is seeking to remedy them not only for our experience but for future families wishing to seek open water certification. I am very thankful for his quick response and work. He is also not going to work with the angry boat driver in the future which will solve a lot if the issues.Prior to Colin working to help this situation: This was truly the worst dive certification experience we have had. We certified my third child, a 10 year old girl, with Pineapple and it was incredibly chaotic. They really struggled with basic communications inside of the dive shop and basic scheduling. While being very apologetic, we were in constant contact with them needing to a change times and not knowing how long things took. Derek was a great instructor but Steve was terrible - talking down to my daughter in a high pitched tone and treating her like a 2 year old. For going on the boat we have never had an issue with kids going with Dive instructors but this time was actually screamed at by the captain twice who was incensed that our 10 year old didn’t own a phone and that we weren’t going with her. We were never asked to go with her nor did Pineapple say that was a need or preference. The captain yelled at my daughter saying she could not go in the boat and that the shop had not signed her up. They had and it got worked out so that she went but it was by far the worst interactions we have had with any dive shop, ever. I have been diving for 16 years and have two older kids who are certified, we travel all over the world diving. I know diving doesn’t need to be filled with so many incredibly unorganized angry people.

Awesome experience. Got certified with my teenage daughters. Only the accelerated program was offered, as the shop was very proactive to social distancing. Worth the extra money, because classes were scheduled with the same instructor, and at our pace. Gina was awesome with my nervous girls. The shop has the option of a boat charter for the final dives -- DO THIS. It was perhaps the best day I have ever spent with my daughters.P.S. The owner, Collin, had prompt communication, and in the dives was incredibly safety-conscious.

We spent the first day of class reviewing course study materials and getting to know our dive buddies. Then we hit the pool for some in-gear training. The comfortable atmosphere made my initial anxieties go away almost instantly, and I found myself having trouble sleeping with anticipation for the Catalina dive trip the next morning!

Ive been a customer for a year now and cant recommend this dive shop enough! I did my Advanced OW with Colin and the class was awesome. They have great customer service and also run amazing dive trips. Highly recommend, 10/10. Also, theyre up to date on CDC safety guidelines :-)Best dive shop in south FL!

Great Dive Outfitter! Skip and Gina were amazing as Dive Masters and support crew. Nice dive retail store very well stocked. Great boat crew and well equipped boat. Gina was leading a new group of divers and made sure to help brief those already certified.I also rented 100% of the equipment (first time ever). The BCD was very new and excellent condition. The 3mm suit was brand new. The regulator was well used, however in Great condition. All other gear was great.The only reasons Im not giving 5 stars:1) overall plan was a little vague (see below) from booking to completion.2) directions to boat were a little off3) I like to hold back my 5 stars for when I am WOWED.4) I dont have any experience with other local operators.5) no large or XL shop t-shirt on shelf - plenty of 2xl, m and smallOverall Plan for Scuba in Ft. Lauderdale:1) meet at Dive Shop for Gear, tanks and check in. Haul gear to your car.2) Drive to boat location.3) Drop gear at boat, park in area extra parking cost.3.1) around 30 minutes from dock to dive sites.4) repeat above on return5) Rinse and hang your gear.This appears to be the standard in area. I looked around online to find this information and could not find it.

My friends and I did our open water certification at Pineapple Scuba in April. I did a lot of research of other dive shops in the area before picking Pineapple Scuba and Im glad I did! After completing the SDI online learning course, we scheduled a time for the review session with Eric. Eric was able to break down, what might seem like a lot of overwhelming information you learn through the online course, into simple steps and important rules for us to remember. From there we scheduled our pool session with Colin. During the pool session, Colin taught us how to set up our dive equipment and spent time making sure we were comfortable using our equipment, including conducting emergency procedures, in the pool. At the end of the pool session my friend and I felt like there were some techniques that we wanted more practice with before doing the beach dive - so Colin scheduled another pool session with us on his day off! We completed our beach dive and boat dive with Colin as well. I would definitely recommend doing the boat dive, as its a great way to practice and get comfortable with diving from a boat.Pineapple Scuba is one of the most affordable and fun places to get your open water certification! They do a great job of creating safe and independent divers. I plan to do my advanced certification with them as well. Grab a Pineapple Scuba sticker while you can because they run out quickly!

I cant recommend this place enough! I had an upcoming trip I was trying to get open water certified for, and as a consultant who travels out of state each week, I do not have a very flexible schedule... wasnt a problem for Pineapple Scuba! They were able to fit me in, and get me certified, all in one weekend... on two day notice! Not only that, I also had so much fun in the process! Candice was my instructor and she was amazing, but I have no doubt all of the instructors are. Colin, one of the owners, is awesome too and super helpful with any questions you might have. Love this place, cant wait to come back and get additional certifications here!

Colin Lee is a wonderful Diving Instructor.We got SCUBA lessons as a Christmas present through Pineapple Scuba. The online lessons through SDI went well and Colin, Steve and Eric helped us with all the in-person activities.Pineapple worked with us the whole time to accommodate our schedule with all the training dives. Colin is patient, helpful and fun while hes teaching. Colin was great to us and watching him with other students showed how much he cared about us getting certified and HAVING FUN!Well be diving with Pineapple again!

I just finished my Open Water Certification two weeks ago and I cant say enough good things about this amazing group of people. From the service to gear and instruction, every single instructor was always open to questions and suggestions. They made the whole course extremely easy and comfortable to take; due to my work schedule, they even worked around it to accommodate me into other dives and get me finished. I dove with Pineapple SCUBA while in here Florida and had a great time. Steve really went out of his way to make it the best possible experience for me from lending his personal equipment to topping my tanks for a little extra bottom time. They rent out steel 97 cu ft tanks which worked out great for me. The store feature a small selection of high quality gear at a competitive price. If you hunt Lionfish, they have the gear you need and can expertly advise you. I picking up a 3 mm wetsuit that they special ordered for me and it arrived as promised.

SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! My wife and I came from Boston to complete our open water certification dives (global referral) with Pineapple Scuba in Fort Lauderdale. Colin, our instructor and the owner, has been diving since he was 13 years old and is a second-generation dive shop owner. He has a great personal touch and inspires confidence in new divers. Don’t be fooled by his laid-back demeanor — he is aware of where you are in the water and what you are doing (or not doing) at all times. Colin clearly loves the sport and loves teaching. He is very conscious of safety but at the same time, gives you the space to figure things out on your own. We completed two beach entry dives and two boat dives (one wreck and one reef). The rental equipment was high quality and the staff did a perfect job fitting us out. Pineapple Scuba certifies both SDI and PADI. We cannot wait to dive with them again!

Ok I was honestly shocked at the importance they put on customer service & satisfaction here at this shop. I went on a great dive with them the other day - was put with an experienced dive guide since I was by myself. He made sure to help me & check on my gear, tank, weights, everything to make sure all was good. But AFTERWARDS was where thegoing the extra mile kicked in. I didnt realize Id parked in the wrong place at the dock & had a hefty &70 worth of parking tickets! I called them to ask the name of the boat ramp area, telling what happened & THEY PAID MY FINE IN FULL! I didnt even ask, figured it was my own lack of observation. But they wanted to make sure I had a GOOD experience diving in South Florida. Small shop, big heart! I will definitely use this shop again next time I come through!

We went here on an all guys trip diving mon-tues, then thurs-friday. We are all certified divers, but don’t scuba dive often. We got a guide who is also a great instructor (Steve). He helped us understand staying out of Deco and some of the more technical stuff with our dive computers while also being personable and entertaining. Two of us showed interest in lion fish hunting and he took us on a few dives and showed us the ropes with spear fishing. We speared a bunch and cooked them up. Steve was a great guy that I believe works there because he loves SCUBA diving, not because it’s a job. Highly recommended. He hooked us up with another great experience.

Let me start by saying I have never left any reviews just cause it takes time that I dont have. This is one place Ill make the exception. Where to start , well this is defentley a shop that takes it to a personal level. The first time I called to inquire about the dive certification i spoke to Collin. Collin was very patient and explained eveything in detail no salesman tactics. I decided to get my certification with them due to their customer service. These guy make you feel like family. The whole crew are friendly and helpfull. From Bob, Eric, Steve, Collin, and the rest of the staff the experience was wonderfull. They made sure that my fiancee and I understood everything. Steve helped my fiancee feel comfortable and help her through out every step of her open water dive. It was like she had a private instructor. He was amazing. I dont want to take away from Eric and Bob who did an amazing job teaching in the pool sessions. Collin was very accommodating with my fiancee and I schedule. I wish I can provide one bad issue with this place so it doesnt seem like im hyping it up but I cant. This would defentley be my local dive shop to go to. Well worth the far drive from Miami.
