We had read somewhere that the Ft Lauderdale West Marine is the largest store. We believe it! A great amount of inventory, and since we live and travel on our sailboat, we were so glad that West Marine was deemed an essential service during COVID-19 times. The experts at this store have talked us through several recent projects. Our last purchase was a new dinghy, and the GM, Becky, was super-helpful with our purchase and delivery. Ed, who brought the dinghy to a nearby boat ramp, is friendly and knowledgeable.

I so love this place! It us a mariners heavenly paradise. Wait a second I do not like getting stuck out at, oh that is why I am here or is it? Let me double check. Wait this is not Bass Pro Shop. My mistake, this the Salt Water version of Bass Pro Shop, ok I am good. What was I supposed to get?

West Marine is always great. Price matching is fantastic. Service is always good. My only problem is the women’s swim selection should be revamped or add a younger line. All but about a hand full of swim suits are grandma like. It’d be nice to find swim options for myself while my husband shops.

Julia in the electronics department provided me with a few different options when choosing a marine stereo and ended up saving me money. She was very knowledgeable and always had a smile on her face! The store was also very clean and well stocked!

Zander was amazing worker and showed me alot about reels. gave me great tips... if you go to the fishing department definitely ask for Zander!!

So many great flip flops, cloths and stuff you never knew you needed for the beach and water.

Great staff, very professional as well. Having said that, I dont think anyone is in charged of the Stock. Most of the time I can assume I will not find parts needed (fittings, electrical, cable etc...). Im sure most likely I will find my size flip-flops but thats about it. Thats why I stopped coming here as often as I use to. You can get everything you need three blocks from this place.What a shame!

Great company with great service! I have always used West Marine for all my boating needs due to their variety of inventory and the knowledge of the floor staff. However, without going into details, recently one West employee ripped me off for quite a bit of money. When I brought it to the stores attention, the Fort Lauderdale store manager, Becky, did a fantastic job of verifying the allegations I had made. Long story short, my money was refunded and the bad employee was let go. Thank you Becky and West Marine resolving my issue so professionally and expeditiously!

I just cant say enough good things about West Marine Ft. Lauderdale.While no longer a boater and now fishing on wave runners I still by what I need at this store. About the time a year ago I got the PWC I also got a new Jack Russel puppy. He has been shopping in this store since he was 2 months old, hes now 14 months. He loves everyone in there and they just love him. It makes me smile to tell friends how dog friendly the staff there is. I tend to buy a bunch of stuff when there and when he was very young I had no problem getting one of the girls there follow me around helping me find stuff and carrying my little boy while helping me. I am more than likely breaking rules by not keeping him leashed. He is 13 lbs loves everyone staff and customers. Thanks West Marine for loving our K-9 liberty loving American dogs. I am so loyal to your store because you guys get it. Thanks for your pet friendly policy and the staff is the best!

Had to pick up some parts for work that were ordered before I got there. Walked in to the Pro section, I was in and out in less then 5 minutes. The gentleman that help me was so sweet and not just willing to help but was glad to be able to. Thank you!

Would be great if they werent constantly out of stock of normal sailing related supplies. Empty shelves and nothing on order. Have to constantly make requests or they tell me it will be faster to just order on the website.

Expect to find what you are looking for, marine items? They have it. Also be prepared to pay an arm an a leg for it. If money is not an issue, then definitely the best marine store around.

Dan was extremely helpful in assisting me to find the right fishfinder for my vessel. He was able to answer any questions I had in regards to the electronics I was looking at, and if he was not sure of an answer he took the time to research and get the answer. The level of customer service that I received would warrant a 6 star rating if it was an option. I would highly recommend Dan and Ft. Lauderdale West Marine.

Great service. Attentive staff. Excellent selection of quality boat supplies and now they price match too. A bit high priced for some things but surprisingly low on many essential items. Every boater should have a visit to west marine.

They do have an amazing inventory but they are proud of it. I like it but you dont feel like you have got a bargain!! I do return however lol!!

I am a new boat owner.Ronnie in the parts department is like having youre own boating instructor. Hes patient and informative of everything related to mechanical & general maintenance. Ask for him by name!Vince took me around the store and very patiently helped me find everything I would need to get started with my new boat. He approached me and was very helpful. Daniel at checkout also was very helpful in getting me set up on some programs for towing and other services. Great experience. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely the worst experience I could imagine!After purchasing a Garmin Avionics Chartplotter map for $199 last week at West Marine Fort Lauderdale and having it fail to function today, Jack, the electronics specialist at the same West Marine, Fort Lauderdale told me that it is my problem now. Since it was placed in my Chartplotter this morning it was no longer a West Marine responsibility and that I should contact Garmin. He gave me the number and I called from the store. Garmin said we kinda own them but they take care of their own software. Ouch! You need to call Raymarine and then they said, we are not responsible, and you should contact Garmin ... and they say, you should contact Raymarine.Circular firing squad.Why would West Marine, with whom I have spent $10,000+ within the last month, not take responsibility and assist me? West Marine is not a company I will visit in the future.

I walked around the store while my husband was looking for some supplies.I spotted Dan from a far greeting all customers at the entrance and asking if they needed assistance. He helped my husband check out and was beyond helpful.I work in the customer service industry and can spot good service from a mile away.Dan is one of those individuals that provides that level of service .

It has a convenience factor that cannot be dismissed, carrying most of what a modern boater will need. The drawback is all that space and inventory means some of the products are not competitively priced. They are also a bit lacking if you need supplies from your 15+ yo vessel. Worth the visit to see everything first hand and peruse all the sections, just be prepared for sticker shock.

Great place w/a hugh selection...the only issue was trying to check out. It would be more efficient if they had one main line all cashiers pull from, verses the separate line where u jog from one to the other trying to b next when others cut in front of you. Very frustrating.

Best chance of finding what you need at a West Marine. It seems to be the central hub for a lot of their stores in the county.

Even when I was looking to rig something, they were there to help me innovate with unconventional ideas. It didnt work out but they still got creative with me and contributed tremendously.

One of the Biggest Marine Supply stores in South Florida. Recently opened in this location the building is convenient to most Fort Lauderdale Marinas. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help you. Parking is easy and you can be in and out in a NY minute.

Gigantic West Marine! They were having a sidewalk sale when we got there. 25% more off already reduced prices. Got a pair of Patagonia fishing pants in my size for considerably less! Good saltwater bait selection; or as my husband said good everything here in this Ft. Lauderdale location. True! Not like other West West Marine stores. Sure its due to geographic location.

Awesome store! I stopped for one part and spent over an hour browsing all the cool stuff. Great selection on just about everything boating, diving, paperboarding, fishing, and more! Big inventory to browse through and their Navigation section looks like part of a cruise ship! Can easily and happily but a bunch of stuff I dont need.
