My husband and I were in Fort Collins and our first shopping destination was here. We had been here 3 years ago and remembered the beautiful items the store offered. We were happy to see that the store was just as nice as we remembered. With the help of the owner and her assistant, we chose amazing silver and turquoise bracelets. That was a hard choice because there are so many wonderful things to choose from. It was a pleasant shopping experience and we were treated very nicely.

I wanted to review this store, because they have never been rude to me. Super nice! Super helpful! My wife has loved everything I’ve gotten her from this store. Don’t be deterred by the negative reviews from some bitter folks, this is a great store.

Truly there are better western themed stores in Fort Collins to shop at. I would not recommend shopping here, as the rude and pushy owner would not leave us alone, eventually forcing us out of the store. She continuously made rude comments to us and I can guarantee you will never see us spend any money here. My wife enjoys purchasing native jewelry and was not allowed to walk around the store just to browse.

The owner was immediately rude as soon as I walked in the door basically stopping me before I entered to let me know there was no way I could afford anything in her store. I told her I was looking for a nice wedding gift and wanted to browse. She then demanded that I tell her my budget so she could judge what I was able to buy. I told her that my budget was unlimited and I just wanted a nice gift. She said that was impossible based on how my husband, our son and I were dressed. It was 23 degrees out and snowing so I’ll admit we weren’t in our Sunday best. I hope this horrible woman learns to never judge a book by its cover. We ended up buying a really expensive gift from her despite how incredibly rude she was only because it was absolutely perfect for the people we were giving it to. I really did not want to support such an ignorant woman and never plan to go back. She lost out on THOUSANDS of dollars of business because I could have bought 100 other things, but I won’t. This was my second time feeling this way upon entering this store and I thought the first time was just a fluke, maybe she was having a bad day. After this, I knew she is just a judgemental, mean person. There are plenty of other stores in Old Town that deserve business because of their genuinely nice owners and amazing customer service.

Thank you, Ann, for helping me find just the right 35th anniversary gift this last Sunday. Your store and its inventory are simply gorgeous and are a beautiful representation of the Native American arts, which so colorfully illustrate the varied Native cultures of the American Southwest. It is apparent that each exquisite piece has been chosen with a deep appreciation for the Native people. My husband and I enjoyed getting to know you, and our heart goes out to you for all of the life changing events you and your family have endured this year. We will be back to purchase from you again. Best regards!

The shopkeeper was very rude. She immediately commented that I probably have a job “staying at home with kids.” I really enjoy purchasing Native American jewelry but cannot support this business due to how rude and aggressive the saleswoman was.

So, I had put something on layaway, and before I made the next payment an employee called and said it was possible to give me a refund. I went there and the owner angrily comes out and objects to my refund. She then goes on to unnecessarily reprimand an employee RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME for about 7 minutes. I used my store credit to get some earrings and honestly, the old owner said people just left her hanging, well I cant imagine why. People do not live to serve you lady and if you treat people kindly maybe they wont quit. Appalled at the owner and would not recommend anyone going there unless they want something they can get anywhere else with a nicer experienceP.S. Thanks for the ever so nice and SINCERE reply!!! I can just feel the thoughtfulness pour out in your bungled, typo-ed response... And just because I had it on layaway does not mean I wasnt a serious buyer. Also, it absolutely is NOT inappropriate to comment on how you treat your staff... that is what reviews are exactly for. Your staff is so nice and you are so mean. Thats appropriate to say. Youve shown your true colors, lady... for all to see, right before Christmas. Bravo!!!

Dear Ann,I visit your store each year I come to Ft. Collins to visit my son. Your store is always on my literary. I love looking at your huge jewelry collection. I enjoy learning a little history about the jewelry pieces I’ve selected, like, the Native American who made the piece and the mine the silver came from.I have purchased 7 pieces of jewelry from you. The craftsmanship, silver, and stones are beautiful. I receive compliments on the pieces whenever I wear them.Your staff is very professional and knowledgeable. Desiree was especially helpful during my last visit.I look forward to my next visit.Carolyn Daniels

I recently began collecting native pottery and was excited to discover this store with such an abundance and variety of various pueblos pottery. The owner Ann took her time with me and I learned more about my new passion as she shared freely her knowledge of the various pueblos, history and artists. It is truly a remarkable store with high end pieces for serious collectors.

I purchased a ring here approximately 1 year ago while in town visiting my sister from PA. One of the pieces of silver fell out of the ring and I dropped it off over the weekend when I was back in town visiting. The customer service was outstanding in the store and the ring was fixed for no charge and sent to my house in PA. I am sitting here with my newly fixed ring on less than one week after dropping it off!! The selection of jewelry in the store is amazing too! This store is fabulous.

It is unfortunate that the staff at this store are so unbelievably rude, because the shop itself has an extensive collection of beautiful pieces. Not that we could comfortably shop them. We were in the store for less than 5 minutes (my husband and two children 8 and 5). We were chased around, and chided and scolded, when in fact my children were admiring without touching anything. When my son commented on a figure that I said was a Kokopelli, the saleswoman corrected me and said, No, that is a flute player, to which I said, oh, I thought that was a Kokopelli, and she said, oh, well, yes. Then my son pointed at a beautiful necklace that was marked $210, and he said, that would be pretty on you mom, and the woman said, its VERY expensive. Im sorry, one, who is she to judge and say such a scathing thing? And two, since when is our more than adequate income any of her business? We are not fly-by tourists. We live in Fort Collins. We support local businesses. I said, Lets go everyone. We walked by pottery and rugs, none of which my children touched, but the clerked chased us all around. The artist/other clerk finally came out as we were trying to leave and made a gentler comment to my husband and children, maybe youll see something to buy a gift for your mommy. Just as we are walking out my daughter gently touched a leather bag hanging low by the front, which the first woman said, thats very expensive, again to and we left. They can be absolutely assured that we will never spend a cent here, never return, and never recommend it. We were the only customers and we were absolutely alienated. In less than 5 minutes. It is a store. Not a museum. And if our money is no good there it could not have been made clearer.

I would love to have purchased one of the beautiful pieces they carry but I refuse to shop somewhere where the owner is so rude. It is disappointing because of how much I wanted to purchase something but I cannot bring myself to support a business owner who is this condescending and cruel.

The owner is a nasty, mean-spirited, woman, with a major social inferiority complex. She does nothing but posture and attempt to flaunt her own perceived success and knowledge, which is obviously lacking on both counts.I came in (with my brother) specifically in the market for a green-turquoise mens ring. She had 3, none of which were in my desired style.I told her that they were not my style and that I would only be in the market (personally) for a green turquoise ring and that I didnt need to see any more mens rings (turning my focus towards birthday gifts for my mother) if they were not green turquoise. She then, at first, tried to tell me that my sense of style was far inferior to hers and that I should take her recommendation and get one of the blue turquoise rings that SHE really liked, I was not interested. My brother, who does not wear rings, was talking to her assistant about gems (hes a geologist) and was already looking for birthday gifts across the store. At this time, I walked over to join them. After several moments, the owner walked over to us and told her assistant to not answer our questions, that we may know about basketball (because were both 67? Trying to be rude) and that she knows about jewelry and you dont...... And all but kicked us out. Which was fine.ALL BECAUSE I PERSONALLY LIKE THE LOOK OF GREEN TURQUOISE.I have never reviewed a thing in my life, but the audacity and pure unproffesionalism of this woman is beyond the pale.I own 9 green turquoise rings, bought from 3 different shops, if you have a certain type of stone or piece of jewelry you like, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. Because what YOU like doesnt matter here.If I could give 0 stars, I would.***Her assistant was absolutely lovely. I feel sorry for her and hope she can find employment that matches her bon vivant personality.

I am a local in this community and my child wanted a piece of Native American jewelry for a birthday present. Immediately upon walking into the store Ms. Ann made not so subtle comments about perhaps we would find more to interest us at a toy store. This attitute and comments towards myself and my child continued for 20 minutes while we waited for her to get through with customers. Having lived in Santa Fe and being a gallery owner, being immersed in and volunteering in the arts community for some time, I was excited to see what they had to offer. We knew what we were looking for and were not interested in toys- but the owner wanted nothing to do with waiting on us as she saw my (well behaved) child as an imposition in her store. I am very strict about respecting other$s space, NOT touching, speaking in a calm inside voice with my child. From the other reviews Ive read, the owner seems to be clearly very uncomfortable with any children in her establishment. Im sure I would have had a much different reception had I walked in alone. My suggestion is that she hang, on her entryway door, a sign like people do regarding animals saying no one under 18 is welcome which would give customers with children a clearer understanding and expectation. She was not only rude, arrogant and offensive to me, but hurt my childs feelings and we left and my child said Mommy, am I bad? I dont understand, why didnt she like us ? Another customer who was in the store while we were receiving this treatment met up with me outside and said she couldnt understand what had happened and said she was sorry we were treated this way. I went back in without my.child and the owner proceeded to tell me how kind and generous a person she was. I found that her impression of herself and her words did not correlate to her actions. I put it behind me and wondered if she was having a particularly bad day, but as I am reading these reviews, my child and I were not the only ones subject to this judgment and condescending attitude This is never what we experience in Ft. Collins. I am sure this will not matter, but one should take into account word of mouth of local customers. After seeing I was not alone in my experience I thought it was important to share. Thank you

Wow!! So rude!! This store owner clearly does not want to do business. The bad attitude and rude remarks were shocking and within just a few minutes of entering the store, followed up by her excuse at making them being that she had been in business for 27 years. Well, with an attitude like that, it wont be there in 27 more.
