Bad service experience with the taller dark haired gentleman with a dog mask. We took the afternoon off to enjoy happy hour from 3-4, expecting the deal posted on their Facebook page shown below. The white sign was down but the chalk board said happy hour from 3-4 on weekdays, with signs on window and tables listing the same special plus different promos starting in 3 days. Ordered beer and were told there hadnt been happy hour since Covid reopening. We came for the same happy hour a month before, so something wasnt right. False advertising and false information, so we let him know. We were clearly unhappy customers but trying to be polite, and this guy just played dumb and didnt try to reconcile the situation at all when he clearly had the chance. Said we should have asked before ordering. We would have asked, but the chalk sign above the bar advertised HH, so we thought we didnt need to. We are definitely sympathetic to small businesses during this time, and want to support them! However, we left really unhappy. Just a completely off-putting experience.
We got the choice city and BBQ burger - SO GOOD!! Best burgers I’ve had in years. Gluten free bun was amazing. Super delicious and peppery bloody maria. Great beer selection. Fantastic and friendly service. Could not recommend this place enough!
Five out of five will be coming back, younger gentleman Destin opened the door for me when I came inside to greet me I decided to order the breakfast burger and a whiskey sour, the breakfast burger was to die for I couldn’t believe the flavors it was amazing I had to ask the chef Mario what he did to make it so good, also most likely the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had and definitely not something you would expect from a sandwich shop
Super chill atmosphere, amazing food. If you go, ask about Ethan Ramseys specials. He made me a sandwich so good I cried.
Super cool place. Solid sandwiches. Decent beer list too.
The restaurant has a great relaxing vibe. I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed as soon as we set foot it this cozy little restaurant. Their menu has a great selection of fresh food and drinks to choose from. Whether your in the mood for breakfast or lunch your sure to find something wonderful to eat at this restaurant. We ordered a mimosa with the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, a Bloody Mary and the Reuben Burger with Dill Coleslaw and just a classic Bacon Burger. We all tried each others food and the only complaint we had was the coleslaw was really bland. Other than that everything was cooked and made perfectly. Our drinks were great, well sized and tasted spot on. As you can see you they did not skimp on the toppings of the Bloody Mary. If your not into our drinks there is plenty of beer on tap to choose from their bar. They also have a deli with a multitude of meats to choose from if you dont see anything on the menu you like. I got to tell you, for the high quality and amount of food and drinks we received it was all very reasonably priced. This was our first time here and we plan on returning in the near future. Be sure to put this one on your bucket list if your ever find yourself in Fort Collins!
On the occasion that I am able to make it back to Fort Collins, Choice city is a must! They have an incredible beer selection, thats always rotating. The food is excellent! Ive had the entire menu and even the PB&J is crafted with care and expertise. My go-to is a toss up between the Choice city burger, and the Reuben. Im still full, and I could eat another. Staff is always great too!
This was my first visit here. It was a beautiful day to sit out on their patio. Their French dip sandwich was great, I look forward to coming back to try more!
40 minutes for a togo order? I ordered a classic rueben and a breakfast sandwich for take out. Literally waited 40 minutes. It was a little busy. Seated customers asking for theyre checks getting their own food from counter. What are you guys doing in the kitchen?
My favorite place to eat in old town, Ethan Ramseys menu additions could have me eating here all winter.
I got the Reuben sandwich and it was the best Reuben I have ever had. My wife got a make your own sandwich, which was also delicious. Would definitely recommend you stop here for lunch or dinner. If we are ever back in Fort Collins we will stopping here!
Came here years ago and it was amazing. Came back to Colorado on vacation, made the trip out to eat here and they closed 30 minutes early than what the normal hours are so no go for me. Not exactly sure why this place isnt opened past 4pm but come on just stay open on your posted hours.
I’ve never been disappointed by Choice City. Great quality food, and reasonable prices. One Fort Collins’ staples, I always recommend this place to visitors. Recently tried the Reuben, and it was one of the best I’ve had.
The boys liked their burgers and I enjoyed the rueben. Nice outdoor seating too.
Great food and beer selection. Only negative part was the person behind the counter staring at me without asking me to order, it was weird...
Great bloody Mary, and the corned beef hash was also good. Nice slices of beef atop cheesy potato cakes, very original
Phreaking phenomenal! It takes a little time to get your order because this isnt that chain sub shop. Everything from the perfect bread, meats and cheeses is put together perfectly! Treat yourself to one for the best lunches in town!
Very long wait timers order and get your food. Monday at 1240 took an hour to order and get our food. Burger was great, but it doesn’t come with any side- not even a bag of chips! 3 stars only because burger was great but limited seating, no sides and unreasonable wait times need to be considered if choosing Choice City- wish I knew beforehand so I could have gone somewhere else.
Best Burger I have had in a long time. And the house Bloody Mary was excellent. Super big choice of drafts too.
Best burgers in town. Always fresh and cooked the way I ordered it.
Simply the best deli Ive ever been to and Im from New Jersey where we are frequently guilty of claiming the superiority of our delis. The Reuben is simply amazing and the classic Italian is also out of this world. Low stress, unimposing environment to have a beer and a sandwich in. Nice outdoor seating on the sidewalk of Olive St.
Best rueben Ive ever had!
Great burgers (and the BLT is very delicious too) - visited cause I heard they were the best burgs in FoCo and they did not disappoint!
Great sandwich! A little pricier than I would have hoped for lunch but you definitely get a quality meal
I always enjoy Choice Citys selection of beer. Often one of the best selections in town, which is a big complement. Occasionally I come for some exotic meats to take home, or perhaps a Buffalo Ruben sandwich. Its an unpretentious place that has a nice (but small) south facing patio that one can especially enjoy the sun on a cool day. Pricing is mid range, but the quality of food is worth it. Check it out!
Still a great place for a tasty sandwich and an awesome beer
Great food, can get busy...
Delicious food (burger in particular). Really good beer selection, brews you wont see elsewhere. My only gripe is there is no tap list online.
It was not what I expected from a butcher. Lacking the freshness and the substance that you would expect
The food here is always amazing. Delicious burgers, sandwiches, and the most succulent cuts of meat you can imagine. Their menu has a wide selection of both farm and game meats. If you dont see something you like just go to the butcher counter and select a cut of meat to be prepared for you. Wide selection of beers too, was shocked to find a local beer from my home state of Maine. This place is wicked awesome.
Best place in FoCo for a sammy! The Club is HUGE, I like to add provolone, red peppers, and red pepper aoili and only finish it if Im starving- sometimes I save half for later. They definitely dont skimp on the meat! I also recommend the breakfast burger, itll keep you full for quite a while. Only reason for 4/5 is sometimes they mess up the order, forgetting to add or remove ingredients. But the quality of the food is always high, from good sources at a fair price 👍🏻
Terrible customer service.Choice City has been one of my familys go to spots for brunch and breakfast for over 10 years. The service has always been spotty, but the location is fantastic and the food was good enough that we were willing to put up with it. However, its gotten bad enough that I dont intend to go back and wouldnt recommend it to anyone else.
The place needs some cleaning and updating but the sammiches! The reuben was probably one of the best Ive had and the French dip was banging. Great beer selection as well.
First off, fantastic beer selection. Everything on the beer list has a 95 points rating or higher. Honestly one of the best beer menus on tap Ive seen in Fort Collins. Plus they have a ton of Belgiums which puts me in my happy place. Secondly the food menu is ample and lots of great choices for breakfast. Thirdly, their hot sauce game is on point. Very vinegary hot sauces but definitely try the little piggy bacon hot sauce as well as the mango and Scotch bonnet. If you can, get sausage to go!
I love this place so much. Staff, food, and drinks are delicious. The Philly is best in town.
The burgers are a bit pricy but at least the Wing burger is tasty. The garlic mashers are a bit on the small side but also tasty. They have various hot sauces for you to spice things up if you need more heat. The have a lot of beers on tap and the tap head wall is a nice touch. Service can be pretty slow so allow for plenty of time during lunch.
The Choice City Deli And Butcher is the hidden gem of Fort Collins, Colorado. Situated just below the Hotel Armstrong, their selection of beer is unrivaled in the area and their staff isn’t far behind. With dog friendly outdoor seating and a wide menu both for breakfast and lunch, and even dinner on some days, the restaurant invites both locals and travelers to come hang out and enjoy the scenery.Speaking personally, this place is honesty one of my favorite small treasures in the area and my colleagues and I will be stopping here again (even if it means going out of our way) on our trip back from our research expedition! Jade was great!
Loved it! Highly recommend. Beer and Burgers are Fantastic! What stole the show was their green Chili!! Beyond Delicious! Cant wait to try yall for dinner. Love the look, atmosphere, and hospitality!
Fantastic deli choices are a favorite of my whole family. They are always very careful to make sure the meat is fully cooked for my pregnant wife. Great taste and value.
My son and I had the triple decker club and my daughter Maggie had the BLT...they were big and scrumptious
The homemade beer sausage was awesome. Glad I stopped by.
Love the breakfast burrito and a mimosas.
Best rueben I have ever had.
Smoked duck Benedict, spicy bloody mary, fresh squeezed orange juice, corned beef, literally everything here is fantastic
So happy they are re-opened! Incredible burger and beer for lunch! And service!
In our experience the service can be slow. Pre-covid this was not a place to go if you were in a hurry. Great food though!
My favorite place in ft Collins. Ive never had a bad meal or beer here. The staff is awesome, location is great. Highly recommend!
I love stopping here for lunch when I am in downtown Fort Collins. A real butcher (you can take out some great protein cuts), that doubles as a deli.A large room with a good number of tables. Right as you enter a bar is on your right, this is where you place food/drink orders. Once your meal is prepared your name is called from a counter at the back of the room.Freshly ground burgers, top notch deli cuts, fresh ingredients, a ton of hot sauce bottles to try make for a great lunch/meal.Bar has a dozen or so taps, with great local/regional selection of beers.
Great place, great food.
The best menu in Fort Collins! Dont miss this awesome restaurant that is a favorite for locals in the know. Russ and his staff continue to impress their regulars with new specials and a world famous, extensive variety of craft beers on tap. Great atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and exceptional customer service top it all off.
The burgers were good and the beer selection was nice. Great spot to support a local business in the area.
Great sandwiches! Made to order. High quality meats. The staff is very friendly. Awesome experience!
Dude this was my first time there, the staff is very friendly and man they have the best subs around,no more subway or firehouse subs, this place is the bomb and the the beer selection is awesome, thanks again, choice city deli
Their deli sandwiches, like the Reuben, are the best in town. Their dinners are also great (although Id recommend skipping the wild rice risotto). I also finally tried their breakfast and loved their smoked duck benedict. Finally, while they dont have the largest beer list in Fort Collins, there are always some all-stars on tap.
Choice City helped me out & cut the meat I needed that wasn’t available at the grocer even though they had closed 30 minutes earlier. I was so appreciative as I was on a tight schedule to prep food for 20 ahead of time and would have been sunk if I had to wait until the next day! Support local businesses, especially now, they are invaluable and make our communities unique instead of homogenous.
Had the Italian sausage sandwich. It so good with a WeldWorks Hefevitzen. Check it out!
Excellent food and beer. Easily one of the best food destinations in FC.
Just wasted 20 minutes driving over here only to find out that they sometimes randomly decide to close early. The guy there seems to think that posting a sign on the door is good enough, as if Im supposed to read that sign from my house?Bad service maybe isnt the best business philosophy when restaurants are closing left and right in the pandemic. The food here may be great but sadly Ill never know
If youre looking for a smaller, quiet restaurant in old town Fort Collins, this is your place. They really deliver on their promise of amazing meats. I had one of the best steaks of my life here. Outstanding!
I love this place. There has never been a bad meal or experience here. The sandwiches are out of this world, and the breakfast is extraordinary.
The special was awesome today!!
A delicious sandwich. This is a great place to stop for lunch. Outside seating is comfortable.
The Turkey Reuben sandwich is TO DIE FOR! So happy to have stumbled upon this delicious establishment. The lemon dill cole slaw is a treat and the balsamic potato salad is the perfect compliment to any sandwich here. Will absolutely come back!
Absolutely love this place. We go for brunch more often than not but all their menus/meals are amazing. This is our go-to brunch spot on the weekends and we always enjoy ourselves to the fullest. Great food, great beer, great mimosas, and great service!
When we arrived for breakfast they had no orange juice. When they got the orange juice, our mimosas were 95% orange juice and only half the bloody Mary’s got a garnish. Our food was cold and mediocre. Apparently there was a typo on the menu so we didn’t get the hash browns that were listed. Our food came out at all different times. Overall I think McDonald’s would have been a better choice for breakfast. It seems like they really don’t care
Great burger and beer selection!
I’ve beeb here a few times when I come back to visit from out of state. Great food and they have a good selection of craft beers to choose from plus mimosas and Moscow mules. Definitely give it a try if you are looking for a bite to eat and a few drinks.
This place is seriously tasty. They are a butcher so their meat is delicious. They offer a variety of beer and things to eat. This is the kind of place that you need to sit and take your time with a beer. Its popular and a little busy so food takes a bit of time to come out but its worth the wait. My favorite was the Smoked Duck Benedict. Very good.
Terrible customer service!!We ordered over the phone and showed up to get our food. We pushed the front door open and were yelled at for not seeing the small sign on the front door that said not to come in and after apologizing were toldWell get to you when we get to youAnd were left standing outside for almost 15 minutes before anyone came to get our name and get us our order. There were 2 small groups on the patio, no one in front of us, and at least 4 people working so this wasnt a busy issue. The people that came after us also got almost identical treatment.I get things are stressful currently, but theres no reason to treat customers poorly.Love their sandwiches, but will NEVER go back
They are hands down amazing. I love them! They make the best sandwiches and have excellent quality fresh happy meat. The butcher is always happy to help educate me since I know virtually nothing about cuts or cooking meat. I love that you can get whatever you want.Did I mention the sandwiches are amazing? I have a thing for rye bread. Rye can be hard to get without being flavorless or too in your face but theres is perfect. The sandwiches are huge though. I get a small and it still has a ton of meat.
Decent food....but incredibly rude staff. They completely messed up our order which we clearly ordered 2 sandwiches on. Not a huge deal but lady just asked if we wanted to order another sandwich extremely rudely instead of apologizing. Unfortunately wont be back.
Okay, I love this place. I wouldnt necessarily go there for dinner, but a late lunch spot is perfect. Amazing bet selection and the sandwiches are so good. I havent purchased meat from them yet, but just hanging out and dining there is a good experience.
I ate here for the first time, last week. The service was seriously slow. However, that could also be because they always seem to be really busy. Also, I overhead 2 other customers come out saying that their orders were wrong but that they liked what they got.Anyway, I got a Buffalo burger and it was one of the best burgers Ive ever had. It was cooked just like I asked and was delicious. My friend got a roast beef and I tried that and it was very good, too.Its really expensive, though. I guess you really get what you pay for but we spent upwards of $35 on 2 sandwiches and 2 medium drinks. Oh, I also got a small side if pork Green Chili for $2.00 and I would say its the best in town (next to mine, hehe). All in all if youve got the money and the time I say its a great deli!
