I gave a 5 star review 3 years ago. I wanted to update my review now that I have gone there multiple times. I got out of cigars for a bit but over the last few months have been getting back into it. I think they are very helpful and knowledgeable. If you want to look, let them know youre browsing and they will let you gander. I like their input and have enjoyed the menagerie of different cigars they have advised me to sample. I am still waiting to get that ONE that makes me want to buy a full box, but I would say out of the 35 or so I have purchased from here, most of them have been 8/10 to 9/10. I love the shop, helpful people and convenience of having them in town. I highly recommend!

I recently purchased my first Humidor and seasoned it, now I need to get some goodies to put inside! The issue I had is that Im very much a novice and dont know what I like yet. I was a little intimidated to go into a Cigar Shop to buy some different cigars to try but concerns went out the window as soon as I walked into Big Apple. The employee was very helpful and informative. He provided me recommendations and his thoughts based upon the price range I gave him. They have a pretty wide selection in their walk-in humidor from what I could gather, they also have upcoming Tastings for new Cigars and even a decent size smoking lounge! I will definitely be coming back, a little more educated, for my next cigars. Oh, and the employee informed me they match Online prices for boxes once I find a cigar that I really enjoy!

Just found the place on the internet went to look and couldnt get 5 seconds with my thoughts before getting told over and over again if I needed any help to ask. Same thing happened when I went into the humidor to find a cigar then was charged more than double for the cigar that I bought. If it wasnt for the distance from my house I would get my money back. Waste of time and money

Really great shop with a gentleman there that set me up with exactly what I needed and picked me out a nice selection as I dont shop often for cigars. My new go to place from here on out. Thanks again.

As a newer cigar smoker the staff member that helped was super friendly and knowledgeable. He led me in the right direction on good cigars to sample. I will definitely be back!

Great local place to lounge and get all the cigar and to tobacco essential you ever need. Every once in a while they have events where popular cigar brands come and let you have a taste of some of their fine cigars, along with some give aways.

Super cool shop! Lots of pipe tobacco and pipes. Very cozy and warm. Has a humidor with plenty of cigars to pick from. There is a smoke lounge and few refreshments. Fun place to sit on a Saturday :)

As we stopped for dinner a few days ago at a nearby spot, my wife noticed the sign for a new cigar shop and mentioned it to me. I was happy to see a place open up in town. Yesterday, I was able to make it to the shop before closing and I was very impressed. Although the shop is small, it is well lit and comfortable. I met Eric (owner) and he took me through the beautiful walk-in humidor. I was very glad to see a great selection of cigars from some of the best cigar producers in the business. Not only did Eric have the big names like Fuente and Ashton, but he also had a good selection from Caldwell which is one of my favorite up and coming brands. Its nice to see a selection outside of the typical brands. Eric also let me know that Drew Estate and some other brands were coming soon. Understandable since the shop has only been opened a few days. Eric also has a nice selection of lighters and accessories, as well as pipes and other items. I was especially glad to hear that patrons can enjoy a cigar right there inside the shop. Its not a huge space, but plenty of room for some people to sit and relax with a cigar, share some conversation, maybe play cards. I think its a great addition to the North Metro area and a welcome sight to have an indoor lounge for people to enjoy good cigars and good company. I will be returning, and highly recommend this shop to anyone!

Went there tonight to take another chance. Last box I bought they came close to matching on-line prices. The last box was horribly dry, uneven burn, didn’t keep the wrap tight at all. I hate having to dampen a cigar to ensure an even burn. Today I had an online price. They wouldn’t match claiming it wasn’t the same cigar. They did offer to match a different cigar, of which I saw they had five boxes of. Made me wonder how long those had been sitting on the shelf. Oh well. Back to buying online

Big Apple is my favorite tobacco shop in Minnesota. I was happy to discover it because it has a small smoking lounge, which meant that I no longer had to freeze my fingers to enjoy a cigar in winter. Most tobacco shops Ive been to have crummy humidors that end up ruining their cigars. Big Apple doesnt. They have a top notch humidifier thats set up right, so your cigar will taste like it should. The shop-keeps are friendly, and are actually knowledgeable about what theyre selling, so its a great place to start if youre interested in pipes and cigars, or if you want to try something new.

This place this place is absolutely a number one first-rate qualities they go from 95 + rated cigars down to $300 cigar that tastes like $12 cigars the atmosphere is quiet and gentlemanly and its an absolutely wonderful place to go to to smoke a cigar and enjoy a restful hour or go to their monthly cigar tasting parties where you get a super excellent bonus deal 295 plus rated cigars for $10 and you get to talk to the manufacturers rep. This is my cigar Guy this is where I go for cigars and this guy knows what hes talking

A great place to get a cigar or pipe tobacco. Knowledgeable staff that is helpful for someone new to cigars or the seasoned stogie veteran. You can even smoke one in the shop.

Largest humidor in Forest Lake! Its like a smorgasbord in there. Decent prices too.

The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to making suggestions on pipe tobacco. I like the fact you can smoke in the shop too so if youd like to try a little before you buy most of the time you can.
