I’ve gone to flying pig for many years and have always had great service awesome selection of instruments.

Recently brought in a particularly rare pedal for a simple repair. When I opened it up for phase 2 of restoration, it became instantly clear that great care had been taken in not only the repair, but the cleaning job afterward. Ive never seen the inside so clean. A+ work.

LOVE this place!! Best music store on the west side. Amazing prices, great advice and unbeatable knowledge. If you need a off the wall random part go in, if he doesnt have it he will find it for you. But he will probably have 1 or 3 of anything you might need.

I recently acquired a used acoustic guitar, and took it into the Flying Pig to have it checked out and restrung. Todd was very friendly and helpful and got me all set up for a super reasonable price. Im looking forward to starting lessons with him soon, too. If you are west of Portland and need help with your instrument or are looking to purchase one, I definitely recommend this shop.

I went into the store with my wife 30 minutes before close and was humbly greeted by a man named Tod. We went in to look for rosin for my wifes violin. We were not rushed to be quick because they were closing soon, we were given information to benifit from without expecting a sale, and we we able to leave the establishment feeling more knowledgeable and encouraged. This was our first time in and would highly recommend checking this place out!

Took my Guild D55 in for a saddle replacement and Ed took good care of getting new tusq saddle and was very friendly and professional. Kept me informed from start to finish. Highly recommend Flying Pig for your local instrument needs.

Super cool guy(tod), and tons of super cool gadgets for the casual and avid enthusiast. Every time I’ve had some obscure toy in mind, this guy knows all about them, can help me understand the pros and cons, and can put the right product in front of me. And he still sells tubes. Excellent shop!

Went in to trade guitar for a new one. This was a great experience and there were many guitars to try and evaluate. I was able to find a guitar that I liked very much. Trade was fair and price for new guitar was fair.Ive purchased here once before and found my experience to be the same.Would certainly recommend this place based on my limited experience!

He’s done many repairs for my guitars from very simple to as complex as a rugged neck break. The prices are great for the quality of work provided and you can’t go wrong supporting a family owned shop. I had a top notch experience at this store. The owner was knowledgeable and didnt make me feel like I was wasting his time. I had been having trouble figuring out what I needed to get the right sound out of my electric guitar, and the amp he suggested is really great. Im very excited to use it!

We needed drum sticks for our daughter but did not know what type. The guy that helped us was very friendly and took some time to explain about them without a sales pitch. Ended up getting a nice used snare too. Will return!!

Flying was the place for getting my bass set up the right way with a new bridge and set of pickups. Install was low priced and quick. Ive been coming into this shop for the past 10 years and not once been unhappy. Always willing to bargain for used gear and parts.... only music store in the grove!

I cannot accept this favored group of comments. Are we speaking (writing) about the same guy? I have experienced intimidation, and eventually expulsion from the store after answering personal questions as to whether or not I had been in before. Then he followed my friend and I out to our car and said: You guys forgot something!!!! I checked to have my wallet, which I did. I said No I dont think so And finally this guy goes:Not that! You forgot your manners!!!! Absolutely uncalled for and weird.

The owner was really great.He knew what he was talking about and was able to do all the work on my bass that I asked. When he found that there was more work that could be done to improve the bass, he didnt do it without asking me, but then told me that I could do it myself and gave me advice.Since I was looking to sell the bass, he even gave me an estimate of what it would probably be able to sell for right now and also gave me the option of consignment. Ill definitely be taking my other bass there to get worked on in the near future or this bass for consignment if I have trouble selling it.

Flying Pig is a great music store. My daughter has been taking lessons there for a while now and is turning into a good little blues player. Todd knows his stuff and is patient and kind. Prices are more than fair and I recommend this store to anyone.

Ed is the dopest. I’ve bought many snares, drums, cymbals, and sticks from him as well as a bass guitar and some cool effect pedals. One time I bought a old Beatles cassette from him and it broke as soon as I played it, I brought back and he let me trade it out for another tape from his cool collection. He’s even got some dope rare vinyl there as well! If you’re there to shop he will stop at nothing to make sure you have what you need and that you’re satisfied with your purchase. Whenever I’m in need of anything gear or instrument related he is my first and only stop

Great customer service. We needed a new piano bench and they helped me select one that would work, ordered it and had it in the store in only a couple of days. The staff was very helpful and I would go there again without hesitation.

When i walked in I immediately noticed there very big variety of different guitars and great prices they had. they had everything from fender acoustics to banjos and ukes. Owner was very nice and smart. Definetly coming back when I am getting my first electric, that is for sure!

I had broken a string on my pedal steel and needed a new one. They did not have the single string that I needed so I was going to buy a full set. The fact that this music store in little Forest Grove, Or. even carried these strings impressed me. We couldnt get the card swiper to work that day so he GAVE ME the single string I needed out of the set at no charge. My wife later returned and purchased the complete set (less one string).He has helped once again to restore my faith in humanity.Thank You

Im taking up guitar so I can keep my arthritic hands limber, and to simply enjoy something Ive always wanted to do. Flying Pig has been in FG for over 10 years now and Id yet to be in. Id bought a used guitar and wanted to ask questions about lessons and get new strings for it. Ted ended up settinng up my guitar, cost of strings included for only $20 and on top of it gave me some very good advice on how to begin my journey on this instrument. After mastering an exercise he gave me to use, and gaining some calluses on my fingers, Ill be back for some lessons.

Wow what terrible terrible customer service. Very rude, tried to ask a question and he was very rude and hung up on my wife. What are you doing in retail if you are going to deal with your clients so rudely. Our son is in town for music in may and broke his a string. I was trying to buy a replacement string plus a whole set for him. You would think that in such a small town a business like this would welcome an easy $130 sale. What a jerkUpdate after a few hours later this guy has been calling my # and now just spoke with me. Threatening me to ruin my business reputation. So now I change my initial evaluation of rude to crazy. This guy is obviously mentally unstable, who does that? I called to make a purchase and you were rude/crazy what more is there to say. You dont like my review than perhaps you should evaluate how your treat your potential customers. You read this, you just called and threatened me so I know you are paying attention. You draw more flies with honey dude. Ps I am a musician as well and notice that some of my musician friends that live out there have had similar experiences. So my negative review I see doesnt stand alone. If you dont want this type of review than there is an easy fix, be nicer. People are calling to spend their hard earned money with you. If thats not what you are opened for than so be it. I needed a simple answer, do you have viola strings. You wouldnt answer that question and hung up on my wife. Simple solution, dont be a jerk and you will get my $ and a nice review about how you helped save the day. But you chose your way so here we are. Good lick dude

Not happy. Took my guitar there to see if he was familiar with Takamine truss rod adjustments, as i tweaked with mine and seemed to have problems. The minute he heard another shop nearby tried to help me but wasnt 100% sure about my brand that is when the owner stopped listening to me. I was a willing to pay customer and had his mind on battling shops. He even went on to say his store has cameras and audio as he was trying to nicely but sarcastically telling me to leave. Owners a nut job in my opinion. I Wont ever go to his shop again.

Great price on protective outer sleeves for 12 vinyl. Service was great and prices on used LPs are better than internet pricing. If they dont have what your looking for in-store the chances are they can get it. I will return for any other music needs!

Not the best for wind instruments, its more of a guitar place. Weird days to be open, and doesnt always have the stuff you need, but does do pre-orders.
