I saw this great shop on Good Day Sacramento and had to stop in.Im so glad I did.I was in awe over the amount of choices, especially with games I had never heard of.I left with 2 games in hand and will be back for all of my game needs in the future.

The Game Getaway is a great local shop. Theyve got a great variety of board games, including a lot of the weird specialty games that you only see on best of boardgame geek lists. They also have an incredible collection that you can play in the shop (after paying a basic cover charge for the day), for when were done quarantining. We went there for a friends birthday party one year and had a great time trying out a bunch of games that wed heard of but none of us owned. I really like this shop and an proud to have them in Folsom!

Pretty meh selection with significant price markup. Lots of the stuff here you can get cheaper at Target, and the inventory doesnt make it seem like a place for serious board gamers.I had reached out previously to see if the owner would order a game for me since I wanted to support local businesses, but he didnt seem to make much of an attempt so I had to settle for something else since I had a gift card.Additionally, owner does not follow Covid protocols (dozens of ppl packed in today, owner without face covering).Its okay for casual gamers who want to stop in for a puzzle or whoopee cushion and dont mind supporting the kind of person who thinks face coverings are a political statement.Unfortunately, Im looking for a friendly local game store and this place only really meets the local part. Avoid.

As far as board game stores go this place has a really great selection of classics and new games. They also have a decent assortment of miniatures and other tabletop RPG items. Prices were normal, and they didnt have anything unusual, just the basics. As for the staff, I was pretty underwhelmed. Not super friendly or helpful, but maybe he was having a bad day. If youre looking for a new board game this is a good option, if youre in the market for TRPG, Id say theres better options more focused on that.

The Game Getaway is a cute little store that reminds me in a good way of a used book store. The place is packed with an incredible variety of games ranging from simply board games to tabletop miniatures. There are three tables for gaming in the store, and I visited on a Tuesday evening at 6pm to play X-Wing. There is a large wall of opened games that you can play as well for a small fee in case you want to try them out or just hang out there.

Stores so awesome! They have every board game ever made in a huge game library where if you pay $5 you can play all day. really great time and really good way to test out and the games you want to purchase before spending the money

This place is so cool! Staff is always super helpful and selection is great. Wouldnt think that a local game shop would have such competitive prices on board games, but usually theyre within just a few dollars of what you might find on Amazon. Tons of games to try and merchandise to browse. Always worth a stop if youre ever in Old Folsom.

The owner is an awesome person! So welcoming. Coming into this shop was a great experience. Awesome selection of games and great wealth of information about each one. So cozy!!!! Also, a great selection of Die as well for table top gaming.

Awesome little game shop. Has a wall of games you can play for a small fee. Decent prices in his games, a tiny more expensive than say Amazon, but that was expected as we wanted the game we were looking for now instead of two days from now. Would recommend.

Fantastic place. Staff is amazing. My daughters and I went in for a game day together. I had specific games I was looking forward to trying and playing but the young man working gave some great suggestions as well. Looking forward to going again and getting more friends to join us.

Fun place! Can play any and all games in the huge collection for $5 and stay as long as they are open. Can break for lunch at any of the nearby places. Such a gem. Definitely recommend for families, adults, team builders. Shop owner is very nice and totally a game master!

This place great board game enthusiasts and common people alike. Great for kids,very attentive staff, competitive price, and a nice local board game shop. And a great thing that you can do is that if you pay 5$ you can stay there and play used games (keep in mind rules might change after this) but its a great idea and addition to this shop.

This place is amazing.I came in here with 5 other moms for the first time.They have so many awesome games.The man working there knew pretty much every game.I was overwhelmed on this trip and didnt know what to pick. 😄 I will be going back.

Moved locations and are bigger than before. They have the best selections for board games and they have family game nights. Super fun!

Great game store. Really good selection, and they have a really good selection of Used Games at good prices too. They recently moved to this new location a few doors down from their old location and now were able to play in the store! Just $5 to play all day, with either the games you bring or one of the roughly 500 games on the wall.

Nice game store, they have an excellent selection of board games (new & used), plus dice, pick up stix, a few slinky and some other odds and ends. Theyre even open reasonably late for a game store and they definitely have games for young children and even the older ones like me.

The owner Ron has always been sarcastic in the best way helping our friends in both the board game community as well as the trading card game competitive field like magic the gathering the staff is always willing to help to the store best of their ability giving a hundred and ten percent every time I had a question
