This was our first time visiting, the staff and drinks was amazing! My only issue was the food. The burger was unseasoned and overcook, the pasta sauce was good but all the meat was chewy like cooked it in the microwave too long. I’m going to give it a couple months before I go back.

This restaurant was suggested from a couple of friends. I really wanted to like it and went despite a couple of poor reviews. The ambiance was lovely. I like the quaint atmosphere. The food not so much! We purchased 3 appitizers and four entrees none of them were tasty. Service was wonderful.

The caramel apple martini BAY-BAY!! ❤😁That thing was good to my soul!💪 My husband had the stuffed chicken breast that didnt win any points with him. I had the New Orleans Pasta with shrimp, chicken and spicy anduoilee sausage. 🔥 Spicy and good went great with the bread they served.The only thing that was strange is they had like miniature las Vegas in the back of the house. It felt out of place with this beautiful cozy placeTook away from the ambience🤷🏽‍♀️

I liked the atmosphere an the staff was all really good an pleasant an engaging! With all that be said the wait time for meals are really long an unpleasant even when not at full capacity it was truly slow the good value meals to choose from was not available due to under ordering i would assume the kitchen needs to be more staffed to deal with the volume of peoples orders the prices are slightly on the higher side but still somewhat reasonable the looks an taste of the food was just ok As well. I think i will maybe come back one day when its fully running at its best I would suggest people give the place a try for themselves as well.

This place has extraordinary service and yummy menu. One of the best place in the city. The drinks and food came out fast and the rates were inexpensive. Will definitely recommend this spot.

We had a wonderful time at The Bistro! Friendly and welcoming staff makes us feel at home. Selections are good and accommodations for gluten-free options are helpful. Risotto was a little sticky but over all an excellent experience. Well be back soon!

I can’t believe I just had my first meal at Bistro on Sterling! The atmosphere, the service, the management and food were all excellent! I ordered the New Orleans pasta with Shrimp and it was so delicious, I believe the food did a 2-step dance on my tastebuds! The flavors and textures were all so complimentary. My friend had the stuffed trout, I had a small taste and it melted in my mouth, it was so flavorful and tasty!!!I’m in the process of planning an outing for a Saturday brunch within the next few weeks and I plan to share The Bistro On Sterling with everyone that I hold lunch meetings. Can’t wait to dine there again. It’s officially my favorite place to dine.

This place is top notch. We live right around the corner and visit quite frequently (especially for takeout during the pandemic). The service is wonderful - every time we go, we are warmly greatly and thanked for our patronage and support. The atmosphere is versatile casual enough for a Thursday night family outing and fancy enough for a special celebration.The food is amazing...it is consistent and you always know what to expect. I order the same 3-4 dishes and each time, they taste as delicious as the times before. This is important to me as a customer and speaks volumes of the quality control in the back of the house. The shrimp and grits are filling but fresh and light, their soups are always fresh and homemade, the shrimp tacos are wonderfully seasoned, and the crab cakes are stellar (though I get small shell fragments...that is forgivable as it comes with the territory).I am so grateful to live in a community with restaurants that offer such wonderful dining experiences (during a pandemic and otherwise). I hope those that live in the community and nearby continue to support this little gem.

Best shrimp and grits Ive ever had in my life!!!!!

The food is great and service is great. I went for my birthday this was the 1st time and I would go back on a regular.

I have lived in the Flossmoor area for many years and this was the first time I have ordered from Bistro on Sterling. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious. Curbside service was excellent. I will definitely order regularly from the Bistro from now on.

First actual date in over a year. Clean, upscale dining with attentive staff, good food and a friendly diverse crowd.

This place is a gem. If you dont know this restaurant, you need to. The food was excellent and presented well. The staff was friendly and very attentive. No anti 2A signage displayed.

Called for a table and was told it would be fine. We arrived 3 minutes later and the staff said they never received the. My husband even showed his phone with the number to the restaurant. Staff still wouldnt give us a table. Very unfortunate

I used to come here when it was Fresh Start. I love the shrimp & grits dish. I celebrated my birthday last night with close friends and family, and the shrimp and grits dish was still spectacular, but my guests kept getting their dish and bills mixed up. They have very nice and courteous servers, but ours may have been a new worker or could use a little more experience with a big group. The dining section was still great, but the smell of cigarettes and the restroom areas need a little more attention now, before it gets worse! However, they were very kind and courteous and people should check out that shrimp & grits dish!

We love going out. Yesterday we went to this delicious restaurant which friends recommended to us. We enjoyed a lovely time there with first-rate meal and a professional stuff and a talented chef. We put this place in our list and we will no doubt come back soon. Highly recommended.

I meet with friends this place quite a bit! This is the best place to have a bite. I visit this spot frequently. The cooking is very tasty, the workers are polite and the rates are fair. I enjoy meeting in this place to have a decent supper.

First time there I was pleasantly surprised. 1/2 proceed bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Great ambiance, quaint, great service and good food. Overall great first experience, will definitely be back.

Have been meaning to try the bistro for awhile, finally went for my wifes birthday and we are so glad we did. The food was excellent as well as the service. They event sent over a birthday treat for my wife! The wine and after dinner drinks at the bar were also fantastic. Alan the bartender is great, and both owners greeted us as well. We will definitely be back!

Love the food, love the seasonal menu, love the bar, love the people there. My personal favorite is the New Orleans style pasta, but there are many great options. Also, their monthly wine club is a great deal. You sign up, and for less than $20 a month you get one bottle of wine that is hand chosen by the owner. When you go in to pick it up, you get 10 percent off your food bill, and they will open it for you so you can have the wine with your meal if you like (although I usually just order a glass from the great selection on the wine list, and take the bottle home!). Every bottle has been exceptional, and its become a once-a-month habit to meet a friend for dinner there when I need to pick up my wine.

Really wanted to like this local resturant. Cozy and good atmosphere. Had Blackened Salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned but portion size was small. Asparagus was well seasoned but overcooked. The spinach risotto, however, was hugely disappointing. Way under-seasonsed, undercooked but mushy. Used way too much white wine to the point that it tasted sour, like the rice having been fermented for days. I am sorry but I am not going back. For the price, I expected higher quality food and preparation.

New Orleans pasta is dynamite! Its a must have!

We have liked this place for many years. Even after it changed hands. The food is the same quality threw out the years. Today for lunch my wife got the special pasta, it tasted good but it was penne pasta w spicey red sauce.I had the New Orleans pasta which i found very good,nice and spicy.We will most likely go back again!

Food and drinks were great! I recommend the blackened pork chop and the bistro mule. Service was a little slow but there were 8 of us at the table, so Ill give them a pass. The staff was SUPER friendly, even the owner greeted us at the table. So go check the Bistro on Sterling out.

Just went out for a couple of drinks and maybe an appetizer and ended up staying til close. The service was top notch and we also split an appetizer and an entree and it was delicious. Cant wait to go back for a full meal and check out what else they have to offer.

Some of the best food Ive ever had. Great service too! We had the shrimp tacos and the new Orleans pasta. Will definitely come back with the kids on Tuesday for family night.

First let me say that the food and service were initially excellent! This was my wife an I first visit to this local Bistro in our community! But our dining turned from great to worse! When we were wrapping up our meal, one of the waitress asked to box my wife’s food! My wife watch the young waitress eat from her food, not once but twice, take spoon full of her food and eat it! When my wife confronted her, she became very defensive. So much so, that she stormed to the back and never returned to the restaurant area. We asked for the manager! He of course came to the defense of his staff, an asked my wife if she still wanted the food! Very insulting! They also, didn’t have the common courtesy to remove the meal from the bill! What turned into a great time, went extremely bad! WE WILL NEVER RETURN!

Love this quaint establishment. The owners are personal and friendly. The food is beautifully presented, great flavor and inviting. The service is spectacular and you feel at home. One word....community.

The owners, Rich and Tracy Cairo, have added special touches to everything from soups (cream of jalapeño(!) and roasted asparagus chowder) to desserts. Wednesdays are half-price wine nights (some exclusions apply), and Tuesdays and Thursdays feature cocktail specials.

It was delicious and the owner was very nice.

Amazing food, atmosphere and service. The food quality and preparation are what you would expect to find in a fine dining resturant, but the atmosphere is very casual. The owner came to our table several times and gave us all hugs when we left. Well definitely be back soon.

My Son and I went there Wednesday around 3:50 pm I understand they had a shift change at4 on.We walked in no body greeted us ,a customer that was there told us just sit anywhere.Finally a waitress showed up gave us a menu took our drink order .She told us its shift change , took our food order.Another waitress brought our very beetsalad and my salat with Salmon.Wow, how disappointing....Fresh spinach, goat cheese ,2 slices of beets and Luke warm grilled chicken.Handful of fresh spinach , cranberries,diced feta ( not sure) and a piece of Salmon.I had to ask the new waitress for some rolls and butter.Very disappointing ,exspected a little more!Not welcoming, not attentive......

Wonderful food, great service, comfortable atmosphere! What more could you want from a restaurant? We had delicious crab cakes & lobster ravioli appetizers; then shrimp & grits and Caprese pasta main courses. The shrimp & grits, made w/fresh spinach and tomatoes in a cream sauce, was fantastic! My husbands Caprese pasta was so good he all but licked his plate. He enjoyed the pizza soup, too. Our server, Tammy, was attentive & friendly. Very knowledgeable about the menu, and helped us choose our drinks and food. After dinner, she talked us into dessert: Molten Lava Cake & Limoncello something (cant remember the name, but delicious!). Both were superb! The busboys kept the table cleared and water glasses full. The owners came & chatted with us briefly. Lovely people, seemed to really care about our dining experience. After dinner, we went over to the bar, and the friendly, vivacious bartender, Jeannie, made us her specialty drink: Summer in a Glass, which was delicious and refreshing. Overall, a really enjoyable experience -- we will definitely be back for more!

Seafood soup (zuppa Dr mare) had 2 mussels and half of a piece of shrimp. Tasted good but was disappointed at portion size. Cheese board was also dissapointing...needed more cheese and perhaps smoked meats to make it great. The charcuterie board at flossmoor stati8n is way better.
