Amazing staff and lovely food. Excellent atmosphere and a little gem on sea road.

Going through a very difficult time, not eating properly as a result. Today had an early lunch at Mad Hatter. It was a real pleasure. Lovely staff who welcome you, tasty food, calm ambience - I felt so much better when I left. Thank you ladies.

The little place is absolutely beautiful and the staff is just wonderful!!! Went here today for lunch and we couldnt fault it, we hadnt booked but they did their best to fit us in, The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was all excellent it was tasty and fresh and all obviously home cooked, three of us all got different meals and each one was not disappointed, we will definitely be back but next time book as it was very popular and we would be disappointed if we could not get in

Visited today with my daughter for breakfast before work i can honestly say it was the best breakfast I have ever eaten will definitely be returning.

The food is lovely and the portion sizes are good. The prices are reasonable and the staff are really nice. You should book to garuanteed a table but if they can, theyll seat you 👌🏻

Nice, friendly cafe to visit for a refreshing cuppa or a bite to eat. Good food, good prices and good service. Great to see the Halloween decorations up in force when I was here today too! Cant recommend here highly enough. Visit every Sunday. Waitress service, everything fresh cooked and brought to your table, wide variety of food including slimming.worid friendly options. Gets 5 stars off me every time.

Every meal Ive ever had here has been delicious, they have a good varied menu and always have specials on display, my current favourite dish is the cheese ploughmans salad which is just incredible and very filling. Their Sunday lunches are superb with a good selection of fresh veg to go with the choices of meat. However I think what makes this quaint little cafe extra special is the staff, they obviously get on really well with each other and this shows by the banter they have with each other but it also transfers to their customers who they make feel at ease and incredibly welcome. Ive been going here for a couple of years now for lunch on Sundays with my parents but also felt totally comfortable this week popping in for lunch on my own. I cannot rate this cafe highly enough and although we will only be able to get meals via take away for the moment I hope it wont be too long before its back to normal and we can go back to enjoying our eat in Sunday lunches again!

Such a lovely place! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is very generous and tasty. We werent waiting long either. We were just visiting family up in Sunderland but we will definitely come back next time we come over!

Just had a takeaway beef dinner from the girls at the hatter and it was awesome. If you like good food at reasonable prices I couldnt recommend it more . Cakes are nice too

Can honestly say this was superb breakfast. Nice selection and offering something a little bit different. I had the bubble and squeak and it was delicious. Little touches make a place stand out to me..bringing jam with the toast as an extra option is a really nice finisher..i always need a little sweetness at the end. 💜🙌💜

Great food and beverage

What a lovely little restaurant, my son & I visited twice. The restaurant was very busy but reserving a table was no problem. Our food was ordered promptly and served very quickly. My son loved his soup! It was good going back to basics playing solitaire whilst waiting (something new for Jack). Our second visit we had breakfast. OMG they were a good size and very tasty. I will be recommending The Mad Hatter and we will come back. Thanks Sue and your staff xxx

Ate here a couple of times now. Great all day breakfast. Great home cooked lunch. Lovely cakes and desserts. Great big teapots. A friendly welcome and good service. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back.We wanted somewhere lovely for a family breakfast before I travelled home after a birthday visit. We had a bit of a Google and this lovely place popped up. We got there about 10.30 and got a table straight away.

Such a lovely place, really warm, friendly atmosphere and beautifully decorated. We had the afternoon tea and the food was delicious. We couldnt finish it all and they packaged it up for us to take home. We will be back to try the Sunday lunch which looked very nice!

Best cheese scones ever

Had an absolutely delicious Sunday lunch at the Mad Hatter 3 weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been back every week. One sit inside and 2 take away beef Sunday lunches. Oh my days.

Great place and a good choice of Gluten Free food available sweet and savory. Poached eggs amazing. Would highly recommend. Staff very friendly.

Friendly and consistently great food. I am vegan and they had a vegan nut roast with veg option. Puddings were only vegetarian though. Recommend to prebook as busy at lunchtime.

A great local cafe serving breakfast, lunch and main meals including Sunday lunch. Good for a coffee and cake stop too. Food is freshly made on the premises and staff are friendly and helpful. We visit on a regular basis.

Lovely friendly cafe/eaterie. Had breakfast as a family. I had poached eggs which were cooked perfectly. The rest of the party had bacon roll (good size), toast and jam, milkshakes and the flat cap breakfast. Excellent value for money and lovely friendly staff. Good menu choice and home cooked scones and pies. Definitely worth a visit.

Usually have breakfasts which are yummy. Today we had the Christmas lunch. It was excellent. The staff are also fantastic. Always friendly.

Just nipped in spur of moment with fiancé and baby for a breakfast sandwich. Served very quickly, food and tea lush and they knew to help us pay bill and leave quickly when baby started to become restless! Been plenty before always lovely and friendly

Quirky and fun decor with the friendliest staff you can imagine, a great menu of savoury meals and an even more amazing selection of sweet things, all home-made! Was impressed to see a slimming world friendly dish on the hand written menu - nice touch and would be inclined to come with a group knowing everyone could be catered for.

Popped in due to the reviews off of TripAdvisor, and Im glad we did.They where able to squeeze us in even though it was busy.The drinks where quick, so was the food.The price was amazing and so was the service.For £6.50 we gotFull English,4 slices of toast with jam and butterPot of teaGlass of orange juice.The breakfast consisted of 2 sausages, 3 bacon, beans, a perfect egg (oftentimes other places dont cook the top and when they do, its dry in the middle) this thing was perfect. Tomato.Will probably be going here every Sunday, what an amazing place!!Staff where lovely too

Poor value for money. We paid £17 for liver and onions and I had egg and chips. PORTIONS very small for 2 adults. We complained but were just ignored the waitress pulled a face and walked away. Nicely decorated and homley but we wont be returning.
