David is a great guy. He has definitely been in the business a long time and knows the products. In the age of online hobby shops, it’s nice to go to a true hobby shop. I like doing business with him, and will cont to do so for as long as he keeps the shop open. For those that want a cheap train set, go online. For quality products and someone that will actually tell you what is really worth the money and why. Go to his store, not many left in the region. I don’t mind the drive at all to be a patron.

Stopped in here today to have the power box of my 30 year old train set looked at. I found the guy knowledgeable and passionate about his business. I plan on setting my train set back up again, and will be glad to spend my time and money here.

I found this store to be quite helpful. His prices are fair, for a brick and mortar store. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. There is an ample quantity of used rolling stock.

Horrible. The old man is so rude and not useful at all. He is not willing to help with anything. Go to Nwa RC Raceway. The owner is so much nicer and is willing to help. They have a better selection and at better prices. The owners name is ray. He is a great guy

When you walk in the door you are met with a constant beep to keep the door closed and an old man who seems to have been through a lot. When I asked him about something he instantly responded that it would be pointless to do that in a way that was kinda upsetting, but agreeable. When I started to look around there were many things that caught my eye. I got what I needed and was met with a surprise that we had to pay in cash, no card or check, just cash. Overall it was an interesting experience and had what I needed.

Crotchety old man is just awful. Treated my husband and 8yr old like dirt. My son used his own money to buy a $100 piece there, and it was broke. Man refused to help, and refused to refund, replace, or even offer advice on how we could fix it because my son loved the piece. We wont be spending another dime there.

After reading other reviews;I thought I was the only one! I stopped down a couple of years ago after I was done with my deliveries & parked my rig on side of road & went in & older guy was rude as hell & didnt want to help me, do i decided never to go back. As I walked into store it was pretty much; what do you want??? Thanks a lot for being friendly old fart! Now I deal in Springfield, MO at Hobbytown USA Springfield, my favorite hobby shop cuz we dont have a hobby shop in Joplin.

I am not going back. I am an HO scale railroader. It seems every time I go back to this store, the collection of old cheap plastic crap has expanded and the volume of fresh quality products has diminished. They still have in-the-packaging brass track. Add to that the never ending complaining of the proprietors who cant seem to get over the fact that the world changes. I got tired real quick of hearing how kids nowadays are lazy, too lazy to put models together, and how nobody builds railroad layouts anymore because theyre lazy and also poor. I didnt hear the words video games but Im sure if Id stuck around a little longer, I probably would have. The world is not the same way it was 60 years ago. Things change. This store has not kept up with the times. The quality HO products are not to be found there. There is no support for DCC, theyve never heard of Free-Mo, and Im sick and tired of the bigotry. Im not going back. I want to buy local, but I just cant hold my nose anymore. Its the internet for me.
