Found my son some skates for his birthday and Academy had them much cheaper for the same skate at almost half the price as other stores even online. We love Academy and my son loves his new skates as well. Lol.

There is definitely a good amount here. Id say it beats out competitors in the area as far as some goes, but there is a good balance compared to others as well. They have a lot of gear and weapons to sell, and there are quite a few outdoor supplies.However, the staff are almost absent from helping, but Im not sure if thats an issue with staffing or the actual team there. Regardless, Id still shop there for my outdoor needs before looking elsewhere.

This was the first time I had ever been to the store my husband brought my daughter here to get her rollerblades and they had the best prices around for them and I loved the store later only going in for one certain thing but I cant wait to go back and take my time looking through the place

If you’re looking for the most cost effective sporting store in town you will want to shop at Academy sports. They offer military discounts at Veterans Day and 4th of July. Academy sports is clean and well priced. I made quite a few Christmas gift purchases from the store and needed to do some returns. I was able to do that without issue. The store is extremely clean. They have a store brand of clothing called Magellan which has turned out to be an exceptional clothing line. My son likes to wear 511 pants. I can pick them up at academy. Before our vacation last Summer, We made hundreds of dollars worth of purchases for our camping trip to Niagara Falls and found Academy sports to be the most pleasant and cost effective sporting good store in town. I like that the store carries name brands. The store is also extremely clean. The employees are very helpful.

Solid outdoors store less than field and stream but they make up for it by having more general active wear

What can I say. Got everything you need as far as anything outdoors or sports. The service is great always nice and with a smile.

I love this place especially i can find what i need with the help of maria. Maria is very patient and ensures I receive the best quality of customer service every time no matter how busy the store is. Its great to walk into a store and its nice, clean and organized especially in the clothing section. I will continue to shop here if i continue to receive that kinda of service. They need more associates like maria she is the best.

They have logs and coal for any smoker. Would recommend for all ur meat smoking needs.

I gotta be honest. Prices are higher than expected for the fishing stuff. Went in to look at kayaks and get my kid a pole. They only had like 4 to look at. They have plenty of poles. It like 3 or 4 reels to choose from...virtually zero ultralight stuff. I mean... honestly WalMart is a better source for fishing stuff. Literally dollars less for certain same items. As for the rest of the store I cant really comment.

My experience at Academy Sports was good. A greeter welcome me to the store. The associat was very knowledgeable of how to treat customers. I was able to find a Nike shirt at a reasonable price. I rated this store 10 out of 10

Very good until checkout. I am disappointed in how the newly opened register didnt take the next in line. This is disrespectful to the people who were already standing in line to watch someone come behind them and get checked out.

My first time shopping at Academy sports & I love how the store was clean, clothes was straight & put up neatly. I appreciate Maria for taking the time out to ask me if I need help to find anything in the store, she went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied. This store is pretty cool...it has everything that has to do with sports & even cloths that you can wear while you are playing that sport...The reason we went was to look at their pools..They do hve pool and also to look at their tents for camping...the store has alit if tents to choose from for a good price...

The store have a lot of stuff for almost every sports. It very organized. Prices are decent but when merchandise is on clearance it should be on clearance 30, 40 or 50% off. No military discounts offer either.

This place is good. Lots of guns. I was looking for ammo (.223/5.56×45). 12.99 per box of 20. Lots of ammo if you can afford it.

Truly impressed I have to say all staff front end and cashier so helpful accommodating purchased a bicycle and everyone was awesome professional friendly it was just a great experience I was impressed because it all seemed genuine they hired the right people in this place

I was really shocked when I went to check out. I was told Academy Sports only do military discount on military holidays for instance Veterans day. I was really shocked because I know I have shopped here before, its been a while but I have.

My people, my people. I needed a specific item that was in the store, according to the stores website. I looked where the item should have been and several other places, but never found it. A lady working there was kind enough to look online and walked with me, maybe I overlooked it. We didnt find it. 20 minutes later, I found it. I was relieved because last minute, I needed the item for work for a project. A guy who worked there I noticed but tried to pay no mind to followed me momentarily. I explained that I had spent over 30 minutes looking for this particular item and that I wanted to tell the lady who helped me look for it where it was located. He asked a few ridiculous questions, which in shock, I answered. Trying to walk away from him with the item, I told him that I wanted to thank the lady. I found her and explained where I found it. She said shed make a note to have the item moved somewhere else so that it could be easily found. I thanked her, turned to leave to pay for it and guess whos standing behind me...I again thanked him, though for absolutely no reason as he had done nothing helpful. He asked one last asinine question. My response now was, Do you think I stole something? No, no, it aint like that. Then how is it? I have on work clothes, dirt that I earned while at work and a pair of $150.00 Timberland Pro welding boots. We all know the Timberland tree logo. If I didnt need the item, my experience today would not have went so smoothly. Nevertheless...if Academy Sports ever gets another dime from me, it will be online, or at another location besides Fayetteville, N.C. Granted, I had on a mask, unlike nearly everyone else in the store and thats fine. Its my choice to wear one, but dont assume for whatever reason that someone that looks nasty or whatever you may be thinking, is less than you, because if we would have compared notes on our salaries, the whole thing would have went differently. Sir could I help you find anything, how about I just find what youre looking for and bring it to you. We have to do better!

Went there May 29, 2021 to get a reel spooled up. At first they said no due to covid( no issue there but then they said they could as I was walking away. The guy in the fishing department didnt even know how to operate the machine. I bought a 300 yard pack of braid and he messed up on over 50 yards of it then cut it. I just decided to leave it alone and leave. Do yourself a favor and go to field and stream. Those folks know what they are talking about. Ask for Cameron.

I was picking up online order. Every one was very friendly and helpful.

They have a large selection. Precovid there were people out on the floor offering help. I havent seen that since then. It would be helpful to be able to communicate with the staff in each section, possibly thru video conferencing.

Good prices, selection & very clean. Typically theres not enough checkouts open but they do try to mitigate it once they see ppl standing around waiting for service. Property security (the ppl who stand at the door) are friendly and very helpful. The shoe selection is lower end of brands(dont go looking for limited editions or extravagant styles) but what they do have is usually discounted, on sale on what is available. or they offer to order it. Great quality, great prices. Super family friendly and great place to shop for the whole family for any sport!

I really enjoyed store pre pandemic. I have always received excellent service in the gun area. The sales associates on floor have the typical dont bother me attitude. That is the reason for three stars.

I was in and out looking for specific equipment and found at least 90% of what I was looking for. It was close to Christmas so being low on inventory is understandable. Check out was quick with plenty of lanes available. I will revisit.

Most shelves look stocked. The manager or team lead stepped up to help a backlog of customers waiting to pay. Prices are competitive and I seem to always find what I need.

Its academy, they have pretty great prices unfortunately the closest one to me is in NC because Virginia hasnt caught on yet.
