I will never go anywhere else for my tennis restringing needs, and will definitely be utilizing their ski services in the winter as well!

Unfortunately my favorite Ski and Snowboard rental business Son and Ski closed a couple years back and I resorted to looking for other local businesses. My friend had recommended this place but failed to mention all the prices are MSRP. If you truly want to get top of the line gear for reasonable prices then I recommend going to Backcountry, or just placing an order through the brand themselves. I showed my friend the difference in price ranges and the varying quality of products in hopes that he realizes this is in no way shape or form an affordable place to shop.

Cool place, good people. I got my skis here and other skiing related stuff. Staff are laid back and give good advice. They have always helped me out when I had a question. Prices are reasonable and in line with what you find online and here you also get some great local service.So glad to have a local ski, snowboard, and skate shop. They also have Tennis gear during the summer.

I recently visited multiple times to restring an old racquet, and to demo some new ones. These guys went above and beyond with customer service, even letting me try another demo racquet for free because I was torn between two. Always a friendly atmosphere when walking in, please give this shop a try!

We had an exceptional experience with the staff at Alpine Ski, the customer service was wonderful and they helped us find the perfect boards and bindings for us! Visited to buy tennis shoes and restring tennis racquets. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and have a good selection. Would visit again for all my tennis gear needs.

Incredibly disappointing experience. They never offered to heat mold the boots I purchased (while a guy next to me also purchasing boots was offered the service, this was at the Sterling store). I ended up going to another store (much more helpful) and getting different boots prior to my trip. When I came to return the Alpine ones they charged me a 10% restocking fee for returning them after the 15 day mark. Half of that time I was required to quarantine due to an exposure issue and couldn’t go to the store! It’s an absolutely ridiculous return policy that doesn’t account for today’s environment. I would not use them again.2 things about the reply: 1) I was out of town for part of the time as well and didn’t get a chance to get over there to return them prior to having to quarantine (it’s not exactly something that one plans on having to do!). 2) why would I want to have store credit upon learning about important aspects that were missed in my initial experience?Wish it had worked out differently because it would have been nice to have a local go to spot for tune ups!

After trying to find inline skates everywhere, Alpine Fairfax saved the day. Ive been looking online, instore, even second hand for a pair to get back into skating. They are out of stock or back ordered for months everywhere. Not only did they have the skates I spent several days researching, but they were incredibly helpful with choosing protective gear. It was cool to walk into the store and get 1-on-1 help throughout the whole store. Yall are super rad and I look forward to shopping here again!

This place is awesome. They have a great selection and the people there are so helpful. They get SUPER busy so you may have to wait for some help, but goodness are they nice when they get to you! They have a ton of experience and even suggest stuff they don’t/can’t/won’t carry in the store if they think it’s best for you. Go here if you need any gear. Seriously the best.

I brought in roller skates from 1914 (so... wildly outdated) and the people who worked here spent over an hour helping me retrofit new wheels to replace the wooden ones. They were patient and kind, finding innovative ways to help me get my wheels (literally) rolling. Highly recommend this place for whatever sport you are looking for gear for. Highly recommend this place. My husband and I bought skis, snowboard and boots. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I think we had Drew help us. He is amazing and knows his stuff. Very pleased with this place and the help from the staff.

What a great experience at Alpine today. I worked with Tony and he helped me with the purchase of a set of skis, bindings, and poles that fit my needs. After we narrowed down 3 pairs of skis, I candidly looked online to compare prices and they were CHEAPER! It’s hard to beat the interwebs in 2020, but Alpine does it. Not only are their prices more than competitive, but their customer service is second to none. Today was my first time in Alpine and it won’t be my last, you’ve got a customer for life. The wait time to just get in and trade an item that didnt fit took 45 minutes while other people were being let in to get a replacement for their tennis racket. horrible service.

I called the Fairfax shop to set up a time to bring in my three kids to get fitted for boots and skis. They told me to come in at 10:30am, a full half hour before the store opens, and had us in and out before the place was full. In the time of COVID, this was really exceptional costumer service. The employees were super helpful, friendly, and took all COVID precautions to keep their customers safe. They’ve got a family of customers for life!

This place is great. I went in to get my first ever Longboard and they helped me out a lot. They helped me pick out a board I really enjoy. They answered a lot of questions my mother asked and was very nice even though the situation that is happening right now. I would 100% recommend coming here, even if you are a beginner at the thing you want, because they will help you out.

Working in sales myself, I know first hand how important customer experience can be. It is a make a break when deciding where to shop locally. Little things can go a long way with your loyal customers and this is simply NOT a value Alpine Ski Ship in Fairfax possesses.This store does not offer a wide selection of inventory for women. Not impressed with their offerings or customer service. I have purchased a lot of gear/equipment with them in the past, when trying to return a pair of ski pants the gentleman in the front was rude and was only able to offer store credit.He tired to explain he would compromise/ negotiate with me by not charging me a 20% restocking fee. How absurd!!!! They are VERY strict about returns vs. store credit despite my being a consistent customer these past 5 years and spending THOUSANDS of dollars with them.Word of advise, review their exchange and return policy before you purchase ANYTHING from this store!! I was really let down by this experience. Especially with the end of ski season around the corner....their inventory is even smaller than normal for ski/snowboard gear AND they would only offer store credit after exceeding the 30 day policy by only a few days when I had ALL of the tags, receipts, pants hand never been worn, etc. When I first purchased them the girl I originally worked with who actually was quite helpful knew I was on the fence with them and encouraged me to bring them back if I changed my mind. To be greeted with quite the opposite from the store manager was very disappointing.

This place is great! Great people and great prices. The staff is really knowledgeable and will help you out. Also if you have kids (I dont), they have a good program for kids ski/snowboard gear-kids are always growing, so buying them gear can seem silly, but they have a good program for that.

This is my first time there. They dont have a lot of selections of snowboarding boots and bindings and the guy told me and my friend At this time, its more what we got than what you really want. OK, i understand the timing. Later on, because they dont have the size of the snowboarding boots we looked for, the guy brought us another ugly pair of the correct size. But after he heard we dont like the style and color, he even refuses us to try them on for the size and fit. And not been sorry at all. Excuse me???!!! Overall, this is my first time there and definitely my last. Go shop at REI or somewhere else, this store does not have more selection or cheaper price. So why bother go to Alpine when somewhere else has better service and same product.

We love going to this place! It is convenient to get to and the customer service is fabulous. We have been happily using the ski/boot exchange program for our kids (now 7 & 9).

I am new to snowboarding and wanted a kit that I could both get started with and use for years to come. Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He helped me pick out each piece of gear and gave me multiple options that were within my budget. I am very happy with the kit and service that I got and will be back.

I have struggled with my feet in ski boots for as long as I can remember. I have a neuroma in one foot, which probably came from a ski boot that was too tight, long ago. I have bought 2 pairs of boots in the last 10 years, one for over $700 in a custom bootfitting place in Telluride, only to be in worse and worse pain. At my husbands suggestion, I met with Brian U. in the Fairfax location, dubious as ever, and he assessed my situation. He spent SOOOO much time with me. Ultimately, he talked me into yet another boot, but this time Atomic, since they had a moldable outer shell, and he got me a lot more room in my boot to accommodate the neuroma. I told him that if I went to Colorado over the holidays and did not have terrible pain (for the first time ever), I would write him a review on Yelp. So here I am!! He made good on his promise, so I am doing the same. GO SEE BRIAN!

I recently started skiing again after a long absence, I will say that I am incredably impressed with the knowledge, expertise, and help that I received from Tyler. Read other reviews about this store which where very positive. I am from Iceland and we do not have as good selection of wide boots as Alpine Ski shop has. Brian was outstanding in fitting the right boots for my feet. As I was there I bought also poles and skis. Highly recommended!8th. of Feb. 2020. A followup on previous comment. I have now tried properly the Atomic Hawk 110s Magna Wide boots and the Völkl Decaon Lowride skis selected for me by Brian at Alpine. Both are a perfect fit for former avid skier who used to train on skis but took to long pause (30 years) from the slopes. A new experience spending a day on hill and feeling very, very comfortable in boots that fit wide feet. Outstanding professionalism on Brians behalf to fit new equipment for me and my ability. Can not recommend Alpine ski shop highly enough. Thank you.

On Saturday, Sept 1st, I went in to the store to inquire about a Jr. Ski lease. There were three other customers in the store at the time. I walked through the store twice and not one employee even acknowledged my existence. I left and will not be returning. They have lost a customer they never even knew they had.
