She helped to give back my hearing in a way I thought could never be corrected again. She takes into account the whole person and not just the hearing loss. I was first introduced to Hearing Associates when my elderly mother was diagnosed with profound hearing loss and was prescribed new hearing aids. I’ll never forget the day she got her new aids. For the first time in a very long time, my sister and I could have a conversation with my mom. We cried.Since then, Dr. Yabarra has taken care of her hearing needs with gentleness, kindness, and caring. She’s now nearly 95.And now, it’s my turn! Highly recommend! Great caring team! Great to hear! I’ve had hearing loss in my right ear for 41 years. I finally got brave enough to see if technology could help. Holy smokes. I now can hear and understand what people are saying to me even when they are on my right. I hear birds, traffic, music and I can tell where it’s coming from. I have been seeing Dr. Ybarra for over 12 years. I just updated my hearing aids today! The care and attention her office gives every patient is great. I owe it to her policy of coming in during their “walk- in” time to get your next 3 month supply of batteries, recycle your old ones and have your hearing aids cleaned & serviced ( NO charge) to keeping my aids working for 12 years! They still work, Dr. Yabarra had warned me that I was living on borrowed time now! There is never a good time to Not be able to hear! Hearing aids have changed the quality of my life! My experience with the staff at H. A. has been top notch from day 1. The extras they provide are nice touches like a 3 week class and free batteries for the life of the product and free walk in cleanings every day. They delivered all the aspects of proper care of hearing aids a little at a time so it wasnt overwhelming. i would recommend them highly

I have been deaf in my right ear since age 12 and had never had a hearing aid. On that first day I wore a hearing aid for the very first time in my life, on September 8th, 2017, I felt like my reality changed! I was startled by the sound of a truck on my right side, driving back to work. I realized how in the past I had to rely heavily on my eye-sight to notice vehicles or people around me. I started feeling like I was more grounded so to speak, in the room and more fully present with my clients & colleagues at work. I also noticed that wearing my hearing aid I felt I could understand what people were saying to me without expending as much energy or making so much effort. This increased my feelings of confidence, and thus, competence, as well. Thank you Hearing Associates for improving the quality of my life!

I teach international students, and for the first time in years…I conducted a practice discussion test in class today—I’ve always dreaded proctoring live discussion tests because I know I’m missing a lot—so typically I’ve always had groups record their discussions so that I can listen later. But this has always added at least three hours to grading. I know now that I can confidently “live-grade” because I’m catching enough detail to be able to fairly assess individual speaking in small group settings, even when there are four or five groups working simultaneously—that’s the most amazing thing, that I can focus in multiple directions. I always thought people were faking it when they said they could do it. It’s not just that my ears can hear in multiple directions, it’s that my eyes are now free to move from group to group and catch non-verbal moves, both directly and peripherally. Without the aids, I would have to focus very hard on one group at a time, because I was using my eyes for hearing (lip reading) as well as for seeing. Whatever I could see peripherally of other conversations which were not my current hard focus, I couldn’t really attend to, or analyze. I’ve delayed getting aids for years…but sometimes making lemonade with your hereditary lemons might not be the time-saving method you thought it would be.
