One of my favorite grocery stores in Escondido. They always have fresh meat and good cooked Mexican food. Always have to grab some fresh tortillas and meat for the grill. It can get busy there but its well worth it. I recommend anyone looking for some good cuts of meat to stop by and try it out. The staff is always helpful and friend and the prices are average for our area.

Love this place. Have cook meat, vegetables, fruit and fresh fish. A big fully deep fry tilapia is only $3.99....

I was left disappointed because I payed 50$ for this cake. I was given instructions on going to another store to get my own Edible picture I wanted on the cake and wasted another 11$ On providing Northgate market with that. I pick up my cake and they forgot to put the picture on it. I was so upset! After I was made to buy the picture myself during my own time. Then they offered to put it on the cake last minute and they didn’t even bother to cover up the purple letters underneath. Will not be getting my cakes from here but overall cake was delicious. I wish the cake was handled how I ordered though.

There is a young lady who was very helpful and professional, her name is Brenda and she was working the cash register by the exit, the reason I am writing this review is that she was so nice to the customer before me I thought she knew her but when it was my turn she treated me the same way, I was so amazed that there are still nice people out there, she seems to be very happy with her job, she definitely is an asset to this company.

Completely fabulous! There are so many things in the grocery store that I need and I love to go there to buy treats. Superb inside as well. They are working to provide us with the finest quality that reaches our requirements. Ill never forget to let my friends and family know for sure about this grocery store. Surely, Ill drop by here again!

Easy process getting in it was well organized and clean, they followed social distance regulations and thats a priority keeping everyone safe. I found what I needed immediately and it was fast and easy. They also provide space for your shopping cart which is very convenient.easy process too pay. Really recommend going if youre trying to get some groceries although they didnt offer hand sanitizer when coming in but I always come prepared.

Great market with lots of good mexican food.

Bought carnitas from the food court but they were super dry and had no flavor. Even the buche, which is rarely ever dry, was chewy and gross. The grocery store itself is ok but I will never buy food from the food court.

Fresh Mexican food, chicken meal is good for the price. Everything else is expensive compared to other stores.

Northgate is really good for authentic Mexican food. Some of which I like. Some of which I dont. They have a large selection of food already prepared which is very popular. In the grocery aisles, its great to be able to get nice authentic choices of things like Mexican cheese. Their Mexican pastries are also delish. I do think that prices on the more general groceries are a bit high though. The produce is good quality, but also tends to be a bit pricey. However, not many grocery stores sell jicama, especially pre-sliced, so love it for choices like that!

Best prices for veggies and meat. The aisle items mostly seemed over priced. Not competitive at all. They have a tortilleria for fresh tortillas and tortilla chips. Hot prepare food is also tasty.

Northgate is THE BEST GROCERY STORE!! First off the staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are samples of food offered to you just like Costco, but so much better. Samples of tacos and menudo... yum yum! The store is so clean and the fruit and meat department offer only the choicest cuts and freshest fruit. I cant say enough about how clean and fresh all the food is. I have started to go every Saturday and get fresh carne asada, fresh salsas, and fresh corn tortillas for our afternoon lunches. My daughter loves their tamales, and my wife loves the fresh soups. The aqua fresca are soooooo good. You can literally get filled up with all the free samples they offer. But Im not that guy. I get one or two. LOL. I didnt even mention the fresh pan dolce! A whole platter for 5.00! Even if you live out in Lakeside you should take the 35 minute drive and come out here!

Definitely recommend the Escondido Northgate Market! I ordered party platters for a birthday party. Ordered one day before event, the ladies that took my order were very polite and friendly. Pick up on day of party was easy, no hassle. All food was ready, Humberto (kitchen Manson) made sure I got everything I ordered will no problem. He could have had one of employees do it (like some other places would ) but he took care of his customer without hesitation. Everyone at the party loved the food!! Definitely going there again.

I normally shop at other big-box markets but a couple weeks ago I was near Northgate and needed some things so I stopped in... the riff Raff of this town had just stolen my bike lock and Jesus at the door not only guarded even relocated my bike to a safer locale when it became necessary. Imanyol the manager actually lent LENT me $5 to get a drink and chips... my twenties got all damaged.. I mean, what other market does that? None.. that Ive ever visited... The place is always spotless, and is very competitive on selection and price..they have made a lifeline customer out of me!PS: The meat department is incredible

The food is in terrible condition. Alot of old and spoiled food us sold in here especially in the vegetable section.I was also mistreated by a female Mexican worker in the carnecieria who took an order of another female Mexican woman over me because i am black. I will never come here again.

Arrived at approximately 5:40 p.m., Deli & Bakery were very Busy, however the staff were moving guests along quickly... I was picking up a TRES LECHES CAKE--- Northgate has the Best in Escondido.. plenty of cashiers available for a speedy checkout... Always a pleasurable shopping experience.... My go to for Hot, Fresh, Mexican Food..

Pretty nice market that appeals mainly to hispanics, but enjoyed by many as well. I love Mexican food and the quality seems very good. There are some space limitations in many aisles, so variety of products suffers a bit. For instance, one brand of brick cheese, Joseph Farms. I understand it, but variety and having choices, is preferable. The food-to-go restaurant inside is quite appealing with quite a variety of choices, including ceviche. Definitely recommend!

Love shopping for authentic Mexican food. Store was renovated and is maintained orderly and clean. I can find everything to prepare a meal. I specially like the offerings at the meat department. I can buy meat, chicken or seafood already seasoned to cook at home. Staff is efficient and friendly.

Crowded, not much coviid-19 precautions taken. Should limited amount of customers onto the store.

I love Northgate! I can find fresh produce at a very low price compare to other grocery stores. Great variety of produce, meats and dairy. Also a large selection of sweet breads. I had 2 cakes done this month and they were delicious. Their 3 leches with strawberry mousse was awesome! They also have a area to eat, that one is not that good but the tacos are. I used to wat there after shopping with my mom and kids and we all enjoyed the food a lot. Always seems very clean. I love shopping there... I notice the bread goes bad quickly but I appreciate that because I assume is the black of lots of preservatives... my bread from walmart can go for weeks if not months before growing greeny mold. I would highly recommend this place

Nice selection of items. Lots and lots of hot prepared food. Polite employees only problem with my visit was that they jam packed my groceries into to few bags way way too heavy specially for a 6 month pregnant woman to lift and placed 2 cartons of eggs on top of my pan dolce witch was irritating but otherwise nice place.

This is a pretty good Mexican grocery store but Ive been to other locations and they were a little bit more impressive. If youre looking for a good place to shop this works for sure if youre looking to be impressed by the best Northgate Ive check out the one in barrio Logan.

I would give them 5 stars, because the customer service was excellent, but they are understaffed. Maybe its just really crowded? I had to wait about 20 minutes to get some cheese. Like I said, the customer service was excellent. The people that served me were super friendly.

This is a great Latino market. Fresh breads and great ceviche. In the shopping canter with the dollar tree. Great place also. Nothing over a dollar.

Great experience. We forgot some items behind and the cashier (lady) at store 28, transaction 6882, walked to the parking lot searching for us. She brought our purchase out to us in the parking lot. With a big smile she thank us for being her customers. What a great person. Congratulations!!!!

Little Mexico dropped into Escondido truly a transformation experience. Ive been to Mexico 100s of times and this is it! And all the glorious tastes, smells that come with authentic Mexican foods. We get salsas, tamales, and Ceviche with bulk cooked everything! Make it an event and get your Mexico fix.

Great place to get qood foods, just staffing needs attention, it took 5 minutes to get service, 6 people in line, 3 employees walking around and did not look up to see if they had customers.

Decent Mexican market. All the standard food and drink items for most local stores. There are a few hard to come by items (i.e peruvian) that I was able to locate here. Cant beat some of the pricing and fresh vegetables. The meat market section is pretty big and they are quicker than most.

Please please please open a Northgate Market in Murrieta. The only Mexican market we have here is called Cardenas and it sucks! I love this place so much I drive 45 minutes just to buy my groceries , the amazing champurrado, the amazing warn Mexican food. Everything is always fresh and prices are amazing:) love this place

Never had a bad experience here. The produce section can not be beat. Quality produce, great prices. The employees are super nice. 99% speak perfect English.They do have an extensive prepared food section with all your Mexican favorites plus some stuff you cant get anywhere else. I love the green chile chicken tamales. If you need to feed a family and your too tired to cook, get the carnitas combo deal and some salsa and dinner is ready.
