Not sure how to rate them. They are good for general service, and they are service minded. But if you have a problem with your BMW, go to BMW down the street instead.

I loved my experience here! Was a little nervous it may be more expensive than other places just due to the Encinitas location/cost of rent, but it was not. I got a fair price, super friendly service and it was a quick turnaround! I’m very happy to know I have somewhere I can trust to bring my car. They did the repairs to my AC so it’s finally running cold, and gave me a list of items we can tackle in the future. I really appreciated that they didn’t push me to do all the repairs at once 😅 Thank you, Levon & team!

I have a Mercedes GL350, and it had some problems. I took the car to California Autohous and they made the diagnosis and I agreed for them to proceeded and repair. Also, the car needed the yearly service and I asked them if they would do that too, and they agreed.Once the car was done, on the way out I asked if they re-set the car computer that the car was serviced, and I was told yes the computer has been reset. However, a couple weeks later the work service light came on the dash board saying that the car is due for service. I called them, and explained. I was asked to bring the car back to reset the computer. I took the car back today and they checked and told that service was never done. They only changed the oil, and nothing else.They called themselves Mercedes certified mechanics. They came up with another thousands dollars to finish the job (service) that they didn’t do before.After I payed close 5 thousand thinking that service was done as we had agreed. Besides that, I had to pay for a rental car, something that Mercedes never charge for.I went to Autohous expecting to get a certified quality job and save some money. Unfortunately neither one happened, and now I’m going back to Mercedes where at least quality and hassle free service I always get. Plus a loaner car.I do not recommend this shop.

John and the team were and always are exceptionally thorough and timely. Their attention to detail when it comes to maintenance and repairs is above and beyond. This coupled with how fair and willing to discuss options they are make them a great value. Their services and pricing rival all other options that we have seen in our area when looking for an expert to work on our Range Rover. Highly recommended.

First time to use California Autohaus since car warranty had expired. Very professional. Loved text and email updates indicating tasks performed while performing Mercedes B Service. Service advisor was always available by phone to discuss which was a problem with Dealership. Shuttle service back to house is a nice touch.

Im not sure about the negative reviews, but my experience with Autohaus and Lavon was exceptional. These guys know Landrovers extremely well, and are honest and reasonably priced. I had gotten a diagnosis from my regular mechanic, who not only got it wrong but did work that wasnt needed. Lavon knows his stuff and extremely professional, I highly recommend!

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this business. Everything about it. I called on a Tuesday and really needed to get our car in by Friday, thankfully Bob (the owner) was able to get us in on Friday and we had our car back so quickly. 2nd visit: our suspension (rt frt) blow out.I suspected both front air suspension struts were damage and needed replacement. I was informed that only the right needed to be replace and the left had already been done unknown to us. WE LOVE THESE GUYS. They have my loyalty because of their honesty. 1st visit: C.A. was recommended by a dear friend and he was 1000% correct. Levon was a pleasure to work with. A straight shooter and extremely knowledgeable. The pre-purchase inspection was worth every dime and revealed a couple of concerns which helped to give us a clearer picture of our potential investment. Highly recommended. I have an Audi Q7 diesel and these are one of the best auto repair shops that I’ve found in town. They are honest about the work, reasonably priced and have always been on top of my services needs. Also the follow up service reports are very detail and include photos of what needs the work so very transparent with every process.

From the minute you walk in Lavon will take care of you, he is very knowledgeable on parts and proper maintenance on a variety of vehicles. His Rover and Bimmer knowledge is vast. The techs are thorough and do the job right. They also will point out items that may not need immediate attention but will help you stay on top of maintenance and potential future repairs. I am a long standing BMW owner who has decades of experience having many BMW’s serviced throughout California. The service representative was politely deceptive and the ownership apparently encourages price gouging to unsuspecting customers. They may provide quality service with a good customer pleasing approach, but they are price gouging and would highly recommend seeking services elsewhere! I am a proponent of supporting local businesses, but not at the excessive financial expense of the public during these challenging times!

I always take my Mercedes to the dealer for service.. however this latest service 4/27/20 required expensive repairs. motor mounts and brakes. Being in quarantine I decided to wait and check around for other options. I found California Autohaus through a referral company online. I left a message via the referral company website asking for a quote and more info. John called me first thing the next morning with a more reasonable estimate also offered an alternative method to preserve brake rotor wear. I took my car in , later that day I was in shock, my dealership of 10 years mislead me. My motor mounts were not collapsed and did not need to be replaced. The technician thought it was a test or some mistake. Keep in mind, I gave John the green light to replace the motor mounts and the tech knew this as well. I received a detail report, with pictures supporting their findings. They found a severely damaged tire and a seeping valve gasket that was overlooked at the dealership I found my new auto repair place and when the time comes to repair and replace Ill be giving John at Autohaus a call. They even sent me home with a clean/washed car. I highly recommend California Autohaus for your Mercedes care and upkeep!!

Bob and his staff first of all are very personable and friendly. They seem to know their stuff and took the time to explain and answer questions in a very understandable manner. After diagnosing the problem with my Audi, they provided the standard recommendation but went a step further and also mentioned a less expensive alternative, which ended up saving me over $1,000 in repair cost. Ill be using them in the future.

John and Alex went the extra mile in isolating an issue with my cooling system while replacing front brakes. When they were running late on a Friday night they didnt cancel on me but stayed late to complete the job perfectly. My dad was a car dealer for years and Ive always taken my cares to them for repair, however, with the conglomerates taking over most of the dealerships I find I get the same expertise but much better customer care from Autohaus.

Great, great, GREAT place to go and not get bank rolled by a dealer. These guys provide the best service and are a complete breath of fresh air compared to a dealer shop. Reasons? 1- the pricing is considerably less than the dealer (I personally saved thousands on my repairs). 2- the staff is super friendly, personable and they make you feel like a human, not a number. 3- the staff explain thoroughly and the mechanic even came out and discussed the issues, causes, and remedies. 4- they don’t nickel and dime for extras. 5- they have loaner cars!Need I say more? Great experience with the entire management and mechanic team; expert knowledge and customer service for both of our MB and Land Rovers through the past several years. California Autohaus has repaired issues on my 1994 Discovery I that other shops couldnt even figure out what was wrong. Excellence and integrity are rare, but youll find them here.

They will fix the reason you came into the shop and recommend what other issues may need attention. Not pushy, no salesman personality. Very efficient and relaxed people to work with and without the intent to nickel and dime you.

So, I gave them a call and was very pleased with the response I got from Lavon right from the beginning. It was easy to schedule my appointment (unlike the dealer) and they got me in the next day. I also felt like their prices were reasonable, considering the types of vehicles they specialize in working on. To top it off, I also was pleasantly greeted by Bob the owner while I was there. As a business owner myself, it was nice to see their owner care enough to introduce himself to his customer. High class 5 STAR service from start to finish!

Wow. I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences with getting my Bmw’s repaired, but this place was so refreshing! I’m clueless as to how it all works so I respect a knowledgeable autoplace and boy was this place great. Instead of being told what’s wrong and what not, they go above and beyond to send you a detailed list of their inspection including pictures! John kept me in the loop on every aspect as well, if I wasn’t able to answer the call, he left detailed messages of every step. I will definitely be coming here as long as I’m living in Southern California. I’m not sure the mechanics name, although mentioned in the inspection, I would like to say thank you to him too!

The folks at California AutoHaus are great. The service writers are really nice and the technicians know quite a bit about RRs of any age. I brought my 2011 RR in without an appointment and they were able to get me in a diagnosed the same day. They were also kind enough to give me a free loaner a couple days while my rig was getting fixed. I recommend them highly. Thanks Guys

Been taking my RR and Mercedes here for years. I recently took in my Mercedes because I was getting auxiliary battery error. Turns out the main battery was bad, so I was told I needed to replace both batteries. We replaced the main battery and waited for the auxiliary one to be delivered. When I brought the car back to have the second battery replaced I was told it tested fine, and it was the main battery causing the issue. They could have easily replaced the second one and charged me and I wouldn’t have known. This is why I will always bring my cars here...very honest guys! Highly recommend them.

Going to California Autohaus was the first time that I have not gone to the dealer for repairs in twenty years. But after getting what seemed to be a ridiculously high estimate recently for my Mercedes SUV I decided to try out an independent repair company. Upon walking in I was directed to John who listened to my problems and gave me an estimate. I was also introduced to the owner, Bob. Later John called to say that their inspection revealed about half of the repairs that the dealer said were necessary. When I picked up the car the bill was even less than originally quoted. John, LaVon and Bob were all friendly, attentive and instilled trust in them and their company. I am very happy with their work and have told them that myself and my husband (Range Rover) will be coming to them from now on. Thank you so much!

Bought a used Rover from Hoen and about a week later, the breaks were squeaking. We took it to California Auto Haus and Lavonne took superb care of us and the Rover. He found that one of the pads was defective and he made it right. Had to take it back in the next day due to sensors triggering the engine light. Turned out that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced! Since our “warranty” didn’t cover it, we had the work done again at California Auto House. Once again, excellent customer service. While we are disappointed that we have had such major repairs after only one month of ownership, we are so thrilled to have found such honest and outstanding professionals to service our car. I will definitely be bringing our F-Pace here! We HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this repair shop! I feel confident that our cars will be taken care of and that we can trust the team at California Auto Haus! They have so much integrity that they have definitely set a new standard for us.

I have been going to the dealer since I first purchased my car back in 2005. The dealer promised me free oil changes for life, but then took them away when a change of ownership happened. Not cool. I didnt want to return there simply for the principle, what they did was wrong. I just was nervous to go anywhere else but had heard good reviews from friends for California Autohaus.The minute I stepped in I was promptly greeted and made to feel like I was in the right place. They did a complete inspection and diagnosis of my car. They corrected the problem I went in for and also offered me a rental car for the day so I wasnt put out. I felt very happy leaving there today, knowing that I would be returning again when I need, and would be totally taken care of in a professional and honest manner. Goodbye Dealership and HELLO California Autohaus!!

I’ve taken my E550 here twice for a quick AC recharge. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn’t smell like an auto service shop.. it is comfortably outfitted but not pretentious or swanky like the overpriced shops. I was greeted with nice smiles that weren’t forced. I highly recommend the place.This is why:The first was 7/17 then I came back 1/19. When I initially brought the car in there was no cold air from the AC at all. I asked them to just recharge it. They recommended against it because if there was a leak it would be a waste of $. I thanked them for the advice but I was in a hurry so asked them to just do the recharge. They did it right then & there. The $ was reasonable. When it was done they said they put in some die with the refergrant which would show any leak.the AC worked perfect. For a year.I went back 8/18 because there wasn’t any cold air again. They recognized me right when I walked in the door. Now that is first class service! I asked for a quick recharge again. I said since it took a year for it to stop working I was good with just another recharge again. They agreed to do it and pulled my car in right away. When it was done they said they found the leak in the condensor from the die they put in last year. They said the leak was small enough it should last about a year again. But I should get it fixed at some point.The AC worked perfect again. They called me about an hour later with a quote to replace the condenser. I thought the price was very reasonable. But since it was 5 times the cost of juat filling it once a year in fine with just having it recharged when I need it. I know that the leak will just get worse and the condenser will need to be replaced.
