I ordered a chocolate cookie covered cake, would not order again. The frosting was horrible, it felt like I was eating chunks of butter and it had no flavor. The bread part of the cake was alright but felt old. The cake smelled overwhelmingly of butter. Presentation was beautiful but cannot make up for the flavor. No one could finish their slice.

The customer service was excellent, but after seeing so many good reviews I gave it a try for a smaller cake piece 🍰 called “Red Velvet”. I don’t know how long it would have been sitting there for but the cake crust was really hard and not even soft, didn’t feel like having it after 2 spoons of bite. I don’t know what have changed the taste, but it wasn’t at all to the expectations what I have had from the stores.

Never a disappointment. Had a cake made special for my sisters birthday and everyone was raving about how delicious and perfect it was. Will always recommend this place over any other bakery

My daughter bought me a birthday cake here the other day. I asked her to make sure it was a white or yellow cake with strawberry filling and white butter cream frosting. Well people... I had been feigning for this cake for over a month. Kudos to my child for finding this excellent Bakery. Im including a Pic but let me describe my experience with you.Firstly the presentation was absolutely beautiful. It was iced perfectly and had real strawberries dotted around the top. When I cut into into it, it had two giant layers of pale yellow cake and a thick filling of strawberry with thick white butter cream icing. (I fainted a little). OK, so the filling was so decadent. It had real chopped strawberries in it and it was just the perfect amount of sweetness. The cake also had just the right amount of sweetness and nice and moist. The butter cream frosting was silky and melted in my mouth. The strawberries on the top were glazed and they were sweet and I could cut them with my fork! In conclusion, I will buy all my cakes from Sapienza Bake Shop as long as I can. As a matter of fact, I will buy my birthday cake here even when its not my birthday... 😂

My family whole family is from Elmont. Sapienza has and always will be a satple. I have never been disappoint by a cookie or cake Ive tried. Summers never go by without fresh lemon ice and pounds of cookies. I have finally had the chance to bring my husband home this summer and share my childhood memories with him. Sapienza has a piece of my heart!

Absolutely delicious! i had the custard cream puff, heart shaped jelly cookie, & an unpictured cannoli! the customer service was great and the desserts themselves were so so scrumptious 🤤! 10/10 reccomend. also noticed they were in the season finale of Cake Boss, thats so cool!!

Authentic, traditional Italian pastry.Try the cannollis or lobster tail with A French cream. For something different, order the dulce de leche cup with pineapple.This bakery is Kosher and certified by kof-k.The heksher is on the box and I saw their certificate.Expect very thorough service and leave some time for your visit. I recently I ordered a cake from this bakery that they have advertised on their website. I brought the image to the associate and she assured me that’s a common cake that they have the Donatella. She went through their catalog to make sure but the design in the catalog was completely different. I told her serval times I don’t want that design and she said they don’t make the cake with the design in the catalog anymore only the way I saw on the website. I paid for the cake and before I left I asked again “so it’s going to look like this?” Showing her the image on my phone, again she said yes. I had a family member pick it up and when I get home of course it’s the design I DID NOT WANT!!!It’s extremely disappointing that I was very specific on what I wanted and they couldn’t deliver.

An awesome Italian bakery that is never disappointing, with a staff that is very friendly, attentive, personable and accommodating. I started frequenting this bakery in 2019, ordering their connoli cakes, and their Italian butter cookies as gifts. The taste and presentation was a hit. This bakery has become my go to, and I highly recommend. Everything about this bakery is stellar.

Always great. Staff is friendly and helpful. They recommended this chocolate mousse cake today and it was amazing. They even fund a smaller size to suit my needs.

Extremely disappointed. I came here today because of the good reviews. I chose this bakery to buy my mom a birthday cake, a strawberry shortcake, her favorite cake. Sadly it was terrible. Strawberry Shortcake is supposed to be made with fresh strawberries instead they used cheap strawberry jam. Also, strawberry shortcake is supposed to be made with chantilly cream (whipped cream) instead they used some other type of frosting. This was by far the worse strawberry shortcake I’ve ever had. It’s extremely disappointing because this was a birthday cake for my mother and sadly she couldn’t even enjoy it and it will go to the trash. The workers here also weren’t wearing gloves. Maybe they just don’t know how to make strawberry shortcake and are better with other baked goods I don’t know, but after tasting their strawberry shortcake I would be scared to try anything else so sadly I cannot recommend this bakery.

We had our wedding cake made here last August. For our one year anniversary we of course ate the cake top and it was just as moist and delicious as the day of our wedding! I would highly recommend them for your wedding cake needs. Thank you for making our commitment filled with delicious memories =) Sorry I cant figure out how to add photos. We had a pretty complicated design we asked them to replicate and it was very well done.

Got the Pinapple Strawberry cake for my birthday and my goodness did it taste good. Fresh Pineapples and Fresh Strawberries really made it taste so good. The cream wasnt too sweet either, just right. The workers gave us so many options to pick from and were very helpful. Will come back for more desserts during our next party.

Live in Arizona now, but grew up in Elmont and this was always the family bakery of choice, so when I wanted to send a cake & cookies to my parents for their anniversary it was a no-brainer to order from them.!! And when Uber Eats screwed up the delivery, Sapienza’s owner Andrew came to the rescue!! Not only did he get in touch with Uber and got the order canceled so I wouldn’t be charged, he actually delivered it to my parents himself!! Thanks so much, Andrew!!! Mom & Dad said the cheesecake is delicious & the cookies are scrumptious!!!

I’m really disappointed. My significant other got me a birthday cake for my 23rd birthday, he asked for a white cannoli cake with a black border and for it to say happy birthday in black on it. When we opened the cake finally, we discovered that it was actually a graduation cake with a cap and diploma and then it said happy birthday underneath it???We tried to take off the cap but it broke the top of the cake and it didn’t even have the black frosting border it had chocolate drizzle.I’m so confused and honestly very disappointed in my birthday cake.

Custom cakes always make the guest ask where I got it from. Always fresh and delicious. Ive gotten both my kids gender reveal cakes and 1-3 and 4th birthday cakes.

I love coming to this bakery. Especially around the holidays. They have amazing cakes, cookies, and breads. The staff is very attentive and they always have a smile on their face. They have one of the best strawberry shortcake Ive ever had. The only negative is parking is very difficult.

This place is amazing! My son has a peanut allergy and I never have to worry about buying anything for him from here as they are a peanut free facility.

We have been enjoying their cakes for at least 35 years and have never been disappointed. We appreciate that they are great at making custom made occasion cakes. Our last birthday cake was a layer cake with one half layered with cannoli cream and the other with chocolate mousse and covered with with whipped cream. It was a NY Ranger themed cake that everyone enjoyed.

The most delicious chocolate cake with fudge filling in the WORLD!!!! NOT KIDDING!I specifically asked for MOIST chocolate cake and they nailed it. I know that most chocolate cakes may seem basic but Ive tried many different places and I am a chocolate lover so its pretty hard to please my chocolate cake cravings , but this was by far the best chocolate cake I have had in many many many years.
